Everything we tried was pretty good, but the honey chicken was the standout for me. Super flavorful and honestly kind of addicting. The sweet and sour chicken was also tasty and stayed nice and crispy if you get the sauce on the side. I'm actually not a fan of Dragon Express. The food is passable and they give you large portions but the flavor is lacking and they dice their vegetables very small. Whenever we get dishes that contain broccoli it is always as somewhat mushy. The color of all their dishes are always the same brownish color. I just don't feel like the food is very fresh here. There are better places in town to get Chinese food but I guess if you live or work close by and you want a quick buffet style meal this new work for you. read more

Inside was clean and I was greeted by the staff upon entry. My food only took about 10 min. Everything smelled great as it was made fresh. The BBQ pork was good, lots of sauce and decent amout of pork. The orange chicken had a nice crispy outer layer, the flavor was different than what we are used to but it was good. The veggies were cooked nicely and complemented our food well. Steamed rice and fried rice were both tasty according to the kids. The cream cheese wontons were very good. Beef and broccoli tasted great. The family pack was a great value and plenty of food for us all to share. Overall I would order from here again. Seems like a nice family run establishment. read more

Husband has been talking about this spot since I met him 12 years ago and we finally got a change to try them and Jesus they did not disappoint. Hella food! Tender morsels of juicy but crispy moist chicken with a light coating of a sweet sauce. The chow mein noodles were basic and so was the fried rice but the other entrees enhanced the noods and rice. Actually shocked I am giving a 5 star review to a Chinese fast food restaurant. We came to Temecula for my son's game and it was late by the time we were done. We wanted something quick and my son always loves Chinese food. We were greeted as we walked in and didn't expected it to be a hard choice but they pretty much had fully loaded trays and everything looked good with generous amounts of protein in it. We got 2 item combos. I got sweet and sour chicken and orange chicken. My son got sweet and sour chicken and mandarin chicken. We both got mix chow mein and fried rice as well. Every item had great not overly sweet or greasy flavor. The chow mein and orange chicken were pretty much the best we've had. We have been going to Dragon Express since 1989, well they have lost me. My husband went to get us dinner, I had asked for Pepper Beef, and Kung Pao chicken. They gave me nothing but vegetables, not one piece of meat anywhere to be found. I drove back to Dragon Express and showed them my meal, and the older woman with glasses couldn't be bothered. She scooped up a few pieces of chicken like 4 pieces and was done. I said how about the beef, I am suppose to have pepper beef, and No meat. She and I'm serious, picked up the two pieces of barely there beef. That was Ridiculous. My husband's meal was okay, but far less than they used to give in regard to meal size. Wanted to try a locally owned business and found Dragon Express through Yelp. The portions are very good to say the least. I had the half & half fried rice & noodles which were pretty good. I opted for the 3 choices with beef & broccoli, black pepper beef and kung pao chicken. Everything was fresh but because everything is piled on top there is only slight variations of taste. I would have preferred a stronger flavor profile in the beef dishes. The kung pao chicken had very good spicy to it. The beef used in both dishes were tender. I would definitely go back because the food was good and the restaurant was clean. Even though the food is on a serving line none of the food looked old. I appreciated the customer service as well. My only one thing is they used too much carrots in stir fry. For me, carrots should never be stir fried but most people stir fry them. The price is reasonable at about 12$. Everything is do expensive nowadays. 12$ isn't too bad. The inside is fairly clean, but just a bit hot in there. That seems common for Chinese fast food places. read more

My wife and I were looking for a good value Chinese restaurant and we kept hearing a lot of good things about Dragon Express. We were very disappointed as the sweet and sour chicken had no sauce and did not seem to be mixed in with anything. It was like eating old fried chicken. It was very gross. So we then tried the Black pepper beef, but that too was bad as the meat was like chewing into gristle. So I then call into the store to let them know. As you can see from my initial 3 star ratings of Dragon Express (see below) it had been over 5 years since I/we had returned. I noted that my wife liked it and would have rated it at 4 stars. I ordered the Kung Pao chicken (no heat, semi-rubbery chicken pieces and the veggies all shriveled up/old), beef w/broccoli (what beef there was was edible, but veggies S/A/A), and lo mein. The wife ordered the cashew chicken (1 cashew found), garlic chicken (not a hint of garlic taste) and rice. What a serious disappointment on EACH and ALL selections! Each and EVERY item was old and very bland tasting. NOTHING tasted fresh whatsoever and it takes a lot for me to hand out a 1 star rating. I don't want to make this a TLDR review. Unfuckingbelievable is all I have left to say. These reviewers claiming this place is "the best Chinese in town" need to have their heads examined. We came in at 4pm on a Sunday. That lunch to dinner transition time, to save a few bucks by the business, reflects scandalous behaviour by some; yet they seem to be able to put on a smile while sticking it to the paying customer. After a 5 year hiatus I can honestly say, just like this drop in review stars justifies, that we both agree we will NEVER return and spend our monies here again; and we may very well die on this town with this place still hanging around. If you're looking for good food at a reasonable price and fast, Dragon Express is the place for you. Usually fast food places sacrifice quality for price and speed, but not here. The steam table options are fresh and taste great. The a la carte options are quite good, particularly the sesame chicken, as well and rival many other close-by sit-down places like Chin's or Chef K. Best part is they give a ton of food so you get about 25% more value as compared to the higher priced sit-down places. And, I suppose, if you still want to sit down, you can always do it at Dragon Express as they have a fairly spacious dining area. You'll just have to deal with the takeout line that's usually out the door. read more

My boyfriend ordered the fried chicken, kung pao, teriyaki chicken with the chow mean & fried rice. I ordered the cashew chicken ( didn't notice they had mushrooms in it I don't like mushrooms so I decided to order a side of the kung pao instead ).
