I'd give Tasty Burger a 3.5 but rounding up because of the value. Was visiting the Boston area a few months back and found a BOGO deal on DoorDash for pickup. $8.53 for two cheeseburgers. The burgers were artistically wrapped (see my photo). Burger bun was super soft with a good sized burger patty. $5.13 for two orders tater tots too! Went back again recently and ordered a plain cheeseburger and cookies n cream milkshake. Both were as good as we remembered it last time. Even at full price without any BOGO deals, it's a good value for what you get. The service could have been a bit better but overall a good value for the food. The restaurant wasn't pristine, but it wasn't dirty either. It was packed while we were there. read more

This is fast becoming a bad habit with me. But I like to get a "Zum Zum" from time to time if I get to back bay 15 minutes or more before my train. It's a great location for a pre-commute snack! Pre-pandemic when I still lived in the city, I would get a burger and beer here and I used to enjoy that. But now I'm all about the hot dog with dijon and sauerkraut as I rush out. Despite being in a train station, they always seem to have a reasonable wait. Though I'm usually rushing out, it's worth noting that they have a full tray on each table of fun goodies to put on your dogs, burgers and fries. A really solid display of condiments. My one real beef with them is that their ordering touch screen frequently doesn't work and general results in making you feel like a dumbass if you try to order that way. Ordered Dinner Wednesday 1/4/23 while at work I got a PATTY MELT with 2 Beef Patty, cheese smothered grilled onions. I stopped in here around 3 PM on a Wednesday afternoon. There were a few people inside. I sat at the bar, where there were 2 other people seated. The bartender could tell it was my 1st time there so he recommended the meal deals. I got the Starving Student, which consisted of a cheeseburger, fries and a tall boy for $10. That is a great deal! I like that you can choose from either medium or well done for your burger. I got mine medium well and it was alright. I really enjoyed the fries. They were shoestring fries. Both the fries and burger were hot and tasted freshly made. You could tell the fries came from a hot, clean oil. I have to say, it's pretty silly that they offer a vegan veggie burger but do not have vegan buns, so you have to get it wrapped in lettuce. They also offer a vegan side salad, but have no vegan dressings. Do they actually think vegans want to eat dry salad, or is it that they think vegans don't actually exist? Not bad! I was in a bind, ordered Tasty Burger on a whim, and it ended up being pretty damn good. On the walk home from the Red Sox game, I kept telling my wife that we could eat at the hotel restaurant. Turns out... the kitchen closes early! I had put in a pickup order because I was under the impression that tasty burger has waitstaff, and was pleasantly surprised to find that at least the back Bay location does not, so I parked up on a booth. And the woman behind the counter was very nice. I got the patty melt and onion straws. The burger was cooked perfectly and very juicy and the cheese was gooey af. They don't season the patties but that's just as well, since they have salt and pepper there. The only issue I had was the onions. Purple onions have no place in a patty melt lol, and these ones tasted especially strange. Not rotten I don't think, but very off nonetheless. Definitely would recommend, but would advise that you ask for your burger with no onions. Also the men's room was very clean, but it's single occupancy and the lock is broken. read more

If the sign hasn't been updated, then charge the posted price till you update it, no exceptions.
