Read some reviews before going and was a bit skeptical ordering online since many people complained about having to wait a while before they got their drinks. I wanted to order food on their app too but couldn't really find where to do that on the app. So just decided to try Saffron Grill that was right next door. I had to purchase a catering order for work, which included several bulk tea jugs, extra toppings like boba, lychee etc. Since I needed to be able to pick up the items a little sooner than the pickup time, they connected me with the manager, Miguel. A little upsetting that after ordering 8 drinks in one order, all honey boba were undercooked. (All 8 drinks). I understand this can happen sometimes but the last 2 times where we're undercooked and really ruined the quality of my drinks. We were unhappy! I love the honey boba here, and their milk teas are not bad. But I mainly ordered from here because of their boba. I also appreciate their business during the pandemic. Hard for me to give five stars though because I've received incorrectly made drinks on a few occasions now, which isn't the biggest deal, but the one time I requested a remake of one that lacked boba (even with a receipt that showed that I included boba in my drink), the manager only offered a small discount on my next drink since the drink had already been made. Tastea has always been one of my top boba spots, in general, since my first experience down in So-Cal. I love that they're expanding up here in here in Nor-cal but there still aren't any that close to me. Fortunately, I was in the area and decided to stop by before my trek back home. I came here during covid-times and distancing didn't seem to be an issue. The workers were really nice and welcoming. They set up tables and chairs to allow for a nice flow. I was super excited to try this place as there always seems to be a line out the door so it must be good! I went in store and they have lots of good precautions for Covid. Unfortunately after string at the menu for 10+ minutes and finally deciding they told me they were out of Boba?!? It was 2 in the afternoon and a boba place was out of boba?!? I was super disappointed so I can't give this place more than 3 stars. It would have been nice to have a sign up before people got in line and spent time deciding. Lately my stomach can't handle caffeine so I was excited when my sister asked me to grab her some boba that they had some caffeine free options - winter melon milk tea, and all the smoothies and slushies. I ended up with the taro smoothie and loved it!!! I often get taro lattes which coax me to sleep but this refreshing cold smoothie was nice and hit the spot on a hot summer day. Tastea is one of my favorite boba places and I love this new location. The drinks are a little bit on the sweeter side. I prefer getting 50% sweetness and it is perfect for me. I also really love the non-dairy creamer that they use in their drinks. My favorite drinks are strawberry milk tea and Matcha Thai tea. All of their toppings are amazing and I love the honey boba. During COVID-19 they have an app where you can order the boba for pickup and since March I have been doing this. I usually get their wintermelon green milk tea. I think the drink is quite unique. Usually I don't like milk tea, but the wintermelon adds a nice flavor. I also like how they let you substitute milk with almond milk, oat milk, and others for free. That seems unique for a boba shop too read more

Product is good but these guys keep getting orders wrong.They charge extra if you want boba on your drink but don't actually put it in your drink. You find out later when you get home. Frustrating. I usually get a matcha Thai and the first time I got it, it was delicious. However majority of the people working there are young kids and the drinks won't be as good depending on who's there that day. Many times after that it wasn't as good as the first time. She could have easily let me know "could you please give me a moment and I'll be right there", simply because her and her colleague were filling up the tea from a large container, but to ignore a customer and make them feel awkward is just something else. Now, I ordered 1 drink which is a small order and this review probably isn't worth it. My expectation was that I could ask someone at the pick up station and be out on my way without feeling awkward (as simple and quick just like how I prepaid online), but maybe because I didn't place a large order or something so I was treated this way? I'm not sure. I really enjoy going to the locations in Costa Mesa and Garden Grove but I understand customer service etiquette are unique to each location. So I heard a Tastea opened in Newark. It was perfect because it's been so BLAZING HOT! And it's so HOT IN NEWARK! So I went and stopped by, saw that there was a a seasonal DRINK: WATERMELON HEAVEN.
