I came here with my bf today, tried to call in for order but they only allow in person order or order online. I will say this...the ONE thing that got me to go to this spot was that they have GREEN BOBA!!!! That is the honest truth. I cared less about it and really went for the GREEN BOBA. Then I tried the Watermelon and instantly Tastetea became my new favorite Boba spot hands down! It's in a very convenient spot because its really close by to my favorite person and down the street from a great friend. So convenience is definitely a win win here. I've only tasted the watermelon, the lychee peachy and the Vietnamese coffee. The watermelon is amazing and here's why. Imagine cutting a watermelon in half, digging a hole in the middle of it, scoop some green boba in the hole and then stir it up. Pop in a Boba straw and that's basically the drink. The lychee drink has tons of lychee chunks to keep you interested and happy. And well the Vietnamese coffee is Vietnamese coffee. Great spot and a great location. We've gone here ever since they've opened but it would seem like the quality of service has gone down since then; recently we've had to wait a looot longer than usual. One time it would seem like a newer employee was struggling to get drinks out and messed up our order and another person's before us. We decided to just take the wrong drink and not go back because then it would've been more of a hassle and headache for us to ask for a re-make. I decided it's fine since they're new and we've been here a lot. Today we ordered on the online service and went wayyy later than the ETA because we've known from our experiences the past TWO months that it would take longer than the ETA especially on weekends, right? Our drinks weren't ready, there's only two employees working and a lot of people waiting. I'm only writing this review due to a recurrent series of bad experiences from long time customers otherwise I would have been more than happy to look over it. Honestly, I'd just recommend going at off hours but there's a lot of other milk tea places in the area that you can probably just go there rather than waiting for like two employees to handle making drinks and taking orders. At least give a more accurate ETA then, anything so that I don't have to just go there and wait in the car and constantly have to check on my drink. I had never tried a Tastea before until this one just opened up recently. I would definitely recommend giving this place a try. The large size is huge but still fits in your cup holder. They have a variety of different milk and sugar options/replacements that i have not seen available from other milk tea places. There was plenty of staff on hand and they were very welcoming and friendly. I ordered through their online website which was easily used and saved me a bunch of time since the order was already ready when i got there. This time i got the horchata milk tea which was one of the unique choices they had available. It was exactly what i was looking for and the taste hit the spot. I got my usual, a matcha milk tea with boba - less sweet with regular ice, and it was so disappointing ??? It tasted like plain milk (or rather, non-dairy creamer) with a tiny taste of matcha?? I'm guessing it was a slight of hand on the matcha but the color was definitely like a hex shade #f2f8e1 rather than the #bedc6a (at least!) I'm used to!! With COVID, there are signs that ask you to wait outside as the shop's pretty small itself. It's pretty good! I came here with a friend to pick up our orders, we both got Matcha Thai Milk Tea, 20 oz., medium sweet, non-dairy creamer, honey boba. Their boba was perfectly cooked and the matcha/Thai was a really interesting combination. I'd definitely come here again to try out other things on their menu! The only downside was that my friend and I are both lactose sensitive, and we both had stomachaches after drinking our milk teas. @ the staff, please make sure you use the correct dairy sub that customers request because it could potentially cause health problems if the order is incorrect. read more

I'm from the South Bay where there are 3 other Tasteas, which I go to regularly so I know how the drinks should taste. I come here because my sister lives nearby and for some reason the drinks do not have any flavor to them. We got a Peach Me Sweet Tea and there are barely any fruit bits. My Strawberry Ecsteasy always tastes like water... Last time the boba was burnt and bitter along with the milk tea tasting like sour milk. I really think this store should do some quality control and ensure their employees are making their drinks correctly. First!! Haha I'm excited now that Tastea is open in Newark and that I don't have to go all the way to San Jose for it anymore. I came on Soft opening (05/29/20) during their first 2 hours of opening; it was getting quite busy but not too crowded. I gladly tried ordering through their Tastea App for pick up; I found it really simple and you could Choose to pay in person or through the app to make the purchase quick. This location is a bit smaller than the Berryessa one however, I think they'll have some seating available once Covid-19 loosens up. I ordered the strawberry milk tea, Peachee Tee (both with their signature green colored boba) and a House coffee (Viet coffee with salted cream). I really liked the Peach tea it's not too sweet and you can really taste the fruit and tea flavor. The strawberry milk tea: I didn't really taste the tea on this one much it was more liek just strawberry milk. The boba on both drinks were good but I'd say could definitely been a bit more chewy! The house coffee was just right and reminded me a lot like the House coffees at other places. I will definitely come back for more. read more

Tastea is TOP TIER. I've been a fan for the longest time, I use to go to SoCal a lot so the first time I've ever tried it was in Westminster. I've literally tried so many things off their menu from their specialteas, milk teas, to smoothies and so far nothing has failed me! Their boba is always made to perfection, the right amount of chewiness and softness. They also have fruit bits you can add into your teas which are yummy too! LOVE tastea and was so excited when they opened one closer to me in Fremont! My favorite drink is their Peach Me Sweet Tea with lychee jelly. They are located in a small plaza with plenty of parking and their store is in a corner spot. The one thing that I wish they had is FOOD! I'm not usually a writer of bad yelp reviews, but I feel like this should be said for future customers. The service here is always fast and friendly. The staff is happy to answer any questions I might have, and they push the drinks out with minimal wait times. The problem I have is with the taste of the drinks. A couple days ago I was at this location and I got a jasmine green milk tea substituted with oat milk. I'm a frequent visitor of the Berryessa location, and an avid fan of the original location in Garden Grove, as I'm from SoCal before I moved to the Bay Area. The taste has always been consistent, but for some reason this locations drink tasted different from the same order at the other two locations. Since I'm lactose intolerant, I usually get either almond milk or oat milk. I've had the almond milk with jasmine green milk tea a couple of times as well, and something just didn't taste right. However, my friend got a salted cream jasmine tea and it tasted consistent to other locations. I'm not sure why, but the dairy substitutes at this location just don't taste the same. Not sure if they're not refrigerated or different locations use different brands, but this is not the Tastea quality that I'm used to expecting. The store environment is not bad, I've just seen fruit flies flying around the air which makes me worried about the cleanliness. I usually enjoy Tastea quite a bit, but I may be sticking to the Berryessa location which reminds me a little bit more of home. 2 stars because I don't feel safe about the cleanliness of the drinks and the inconsistent flavor. read more

Their drinks are good, yeah, but they mess up so much. Every time I order, one or two of my drinks are messed up. It's happened two times now but I ordered a 32 oz drink and they gave me a 20 oz. Then they either put too much sugar or no sugar at all. I ordered a regular jasmine iced tea with sea foam and it tasted so bitter, there was no sweetness at all even though I requested for 100% sweetness. Before, I would always have to drive down to their SJ location whenever I craved some of their peach me sweetea. Now, I am so glad they finally opened another location closer to me! I have tried many milk tea locations around the Bay, but none of them compare to Tastea. Some other drinks that I enjoy are strawberry sensation, lychee peachee, and their avocado avalanche. Been wanting to try Tastea for awhile and finally got the chance the other day. We got a house milk tea less sweet and the tropical bliss fruit tea light sweet. Both drinks were not sweet at all, I went back in and asked to adjust them both to full sweet. The barista was very nice about it and had no issues. Even after full sweetness we still weren't impressed with the drinks. I thought the milk tea was ok a bit bitter. The tropical bliss fruit tea was not good at all. It was suppose to be a blend of pineapple, orange and guava juice but I tasted no orange or guava and just a very slight hint of pineapple. You can tell in the picture it has no pink color, I feel with guava juice there should be at least a bit of pink? Anyways, service was good but disappointed in the drinks. read more

The drinks were great, you can substitute the sugar with stevia (great option for diabetics). I didn't like the honey boba, it was a little hard in the center, I like it really chewy. I probably won't get it next time. We got large size (it's alot) Tiger Milk Tea w/honey boba, Taro Milk Tea (taro flavor very light) with lychee jelly & Chamango (had lots of mango bits). I normally love Tastea but this new spot is very inconsistent with how they make their Matcha Thai Milk Tea. Normally at the other location here, my drink looks more green/brown and it makes sense because you're mixing matcha and thai tea together. But in this picture, it looks like milk tea.
