Excellent atmosphere, right off the bar. I've only tried the chicken salad bento box and a couple drinks, but it's been refreshing and delicious. They have plenty of seating both inside (which includes a spacious second floor) and outside on their patio. They have a ton of snacks and light lunches. The place was clean, and the service was great, but the portion size of the Food could be better. Was here with my Wife to have Lunch, and we ordered 2 Sandwiches which sounded great. We get them, and the sandwiches were very small in portion size! Very thin Prosciutto, Lettuce, Tomato, Mozzarella, and the Dressing that went with it. My Wife looked at her Sandwich, and had a very small amount on her's as well. I love Taste, such a healthy, tasty and handmade option. Stores are perfect, modern, simple and extremely clean! Food is very healthy, I love healthy and handmade meals, highly recommend the Princess Anne Sandwich. I love you can customize your bread and some ingredients. They do amazing cookies (OMG their choco cookies) desserts and ice-creams (high high high recommend) as well. They sell some products as as wine, peanuts, chips, little snacks, handmade sauces (the red peeper is super good!) and other drinks. Their service is always nice and quick. Nowadays is available eating at the place, to go and grab & go. I am aware they do catering as well, never tried but I am sure it will be good! read more

This is the smallest sandwich I've ever received from Taste. I go here because, although it's pricey, they pick on the ingredients and it's usually a hearty sandwich that I can't fit one bite in my mouth. This is pretty much half a sandwich I'm so disappointed. I might not be returning after this especially if they are skimping on the ingredients on the sandwiches. read more

I have never eaten at TASTE before , but the Chicken Parm Sandwich seemed very intriguing to me. Even though I ate all of it, I was pretty whelmed. Something about it wasn't as thrilling as I'd hope but flavorful enough to eat. I think part of it was that I rather eat it as a pasta dish. Very disappointing. My online order was prepared incorrectly. I ordered chicken salad with lettuce and bacon. I received lettuce and tomato. Then, unfortanately, I ate it. I have something great to say about Susan Kelly GM at Town Center Taste! My friend and I went right at lunch hour and waited an hour for our sandwiches and asked a couple times and were told they were coming. After an hour I went inside and asked about them and Susan heard and immediately came to see what happened. She refunded both of our cards, gave me a free drink as well as gave us 4 free desserts! She was so sweet and appreciative of our patience and I was just so happy to see such great business. Love love love Taste! read more

So happy to have another location of Taste to visit! This place always offers the freshest sandwiches. My favorite is the Hilltop! The salads are wonderful as well! I ordered the goat cheese salad, another favorite! Truthfully, I love EVERYTHING at Taste! It's a bit on the pricey side but the portions are generous!! Everything is made fresh to go!! And they even have frozen dinners to go! Lasagna, vegetarian lasagna, crab cakes, mac and cheese, etc!! And they have the Van Leeuwen ice cream!!! Super rude staff. Went here with a friend and although all 5 of the people working looked up at us none of them greeted or otherwise acknowledged us, despite us being the only customers in the store. We stood around, clearly confused on how to order food, and again nobody offered any assistance. There's a small refrigerated case with a few premade sandwiches and salads, but no menu posted or instructions on how to order food or pastries other than the few premade ones. Let me just start with I understand why they have 2 stars for a rating. I have to be honest, I only came on Yelp to view the menu since it tends to change seasonally. When I saw the 2-star rating I thought it was strange considering everybody knows taste for being a fairly good place to eat; especially in Hampton Roads area. When I came in the door I thought oh maybe they got 2 stars because all of the staff were minorities. I so wanted to give this place the benefit of the doubt since we live in a racially charged climate. But first I'm not so petty that I can't start with the good things about my visit. The place was well lit and clean. I know this for certain because when I initially got there I had to use the restroom; something I cringe having to do in public because you never know how filthy a bathroom can be. Nonetheless, the restroom was a pleasant surprise in that it was clean. Some of the employees were pleasant and professional AND the food was good. My fiancé asked to see a menu and was told they didn't have any paper menus. He was rudely directed (by gruffly pointing) to view large menu poster by the door. It's not as overt as you would think it would be considering how eclectic it is inside. Despite the attitude, I was excited to see there was a vegan sandwich that I didn't have to alter any of the ingredients to enjoy. The sandwich even came with eggplant bacon (that is bacon made from eggplant and that some soy or gluten product). When we got to the register they pulled out a paper menu. He and I both looked at each other. Again I'm trying to give them the benefit of doubt perhaps this was the last paper menu they had and couldn't afford to let it go? ‍ We were given our cups for our drinks. While we were near the drink fountains I noticed there were several metallic bins of fresh brewed tea. I politely asked if the tea was hot and was given a look by the girl with the long braids as if it was a stupid question. She responded, "are you asking is it spicy?" I said, "no. I want to know if it's hot meaning if I put my plastic cup to the spout it will not melt the plastic cup." She responded "no it's not hot." We got our drinks and noticed there were no lids near the beverage station. Because the vibe from the first counter was so unfriendly I decided to go over to the second counter which sell predominately coffee drinks I believe it's called Borjo and ask for that. That young lady told me lids are by the drink station ... yeah it wasn't or I wouldn't have asked her. I went back to the unfriendly counter and told them we needed lids and were given them. Then I was told by the young lady with the long braids there was an issue with my sandwich - they ran out of vegan mayonnaise. I asked her to tell me the alternatives and she told me twice there was regular mayonnaise, basil mayonnaise and balsamic vinaigrette. The first time I politely ignored that she was suggesting regular mayonnaise for me after I told her I was vegan. Meanwhile another young lady behind the counter was trying to assist me by reading the paper menu and providing me all of the sauces alternatives available. The young lady with the braids reiterated a second time, "we've got regular mayonnaise, basil mayonnaise, and balsamic vinaigrette." I made her aware that regular mayonnaise and basil mayonnaise were not vegan choices. She seem to have an attitude because ... perhaps I was not selecting my choice fast enough? I really don't know where the angst was coming from - she wasn't even the person making the sandwich it was a man. The polite young lady (I'm assuming she was a manager/lead) who volunteered to assist me was still naming options and I selected tomato vinaigrette. I asked to have it on the side. The one with the long braids asked if I wanted the dressing to taste first in a container or if I wanted it just in a container. I responded, "No, please put it in a container. "Our order was to go. The one with the braids immediately goes to whisper to the polite one. This is beyond unprofessional it was childish. Let me summarize what just happened: we asked for a paper menu, lids for our to-go cups, and sauce alternatives because they ran out of vegan mayonnaise. Oh yeah and I wanted to confirm if the tea was iced or hot. It was an exhausting experience to say the least. read more
