    Chicken Teriyaki Chicken Sub (7")
    Meagan N.

I think it just wasn't for me. Two seven inches was a good amount to share between two people. I think I need to eat more chicken teriyaki sandwiches in my life. The flavors were there but my main issue was the bread. It was just kind of chewy and unpleasant. They have covered outdoor seating and everything comes out fairly quick. The vibes are quirky and local.

Stopped in on a Saturday for lunch - just after opening so there was no line or wait. Tables for seating are out on the sidewalk and it's not the nicest surroundings so, heads up! Spicy Chicken - perfectly cooked and seasoned, rice was a nice complement, the salad cooled everything off. Delish! Hot pastrami with lots of onions - moist sandwich, filled to the edge of the bun. $24 for the 14" - save half for later, it's worth it. I would take it to go next time as the idling car on the curb was not a great experience. Definitely will be back to try other things.

We got the teriyaki Philly cheese steak and it was great! The amount meat and cheese was perfect. The meet was also very flavorful and tender. The food also came out really fast and the place is small but full of character.

It was about 4 years ago I randomly saw a food review on this place on tik tok. For 4 years I've wanted to try it out and I'm so mad at myself for it taking this long!! The place is a hidden gem out here in Portland and my goodness this sandwich spot needs to be on everyone's list. The staff is very friendly and the environment just feels like an old school Portland sandwich shop. This is going to be my foreseeable work lunch spot.

All I can say is WOW. I tried this spot for the first time after moving to Portland and I'm wildly impressed. This seemingly innocuous hole in the wall has my new favorite sandwich at an incredible price. I got their 7" Spicy Bulgogi Sandwich and Chicken Potstickers! It was all so affordable at around $14 and I was plenty full at the end. If you want a sub shop with a winning asian influence, give this a try.

For size- medium size option (10" I think)

This little gem is off broadway near my fav sushi spot. It's a small shop. Everything is made to order. If you don't want sammiches they have bento boxes you could order. Good option for folks who can't agree on one food spot to try. We ordered 3 sammiches in our party. I got avocado, Turkey and bacon. No onions, subbed pepper jack, and add bell peppers. It was delicious. Someone else got a build your own- hot pastrami w cheese. Last person got bulgogi steak. FYI this comes with all the toppings so if you want to keep to Asian flavors, ask them to remove everything you don't want or build your own. I loved my sammich until the last few bites. lol someone put a fat bit of raw onion in my sammich and it blew my whole palate. I tried the bulgogi meat and it was yummy but too salty and sweet for my preference. The person ordering this sammich hates Mayo so they asked if it came with it and asked for no mayo just in case. But didn't realize you get American toppings on it by default. So order without or build your own. Overall loved it. Will definitely come back. lol maybe go to my fav sushi spot and then pick up a sammich to go for later. It was worth the carb cheat meal. I loved the bread my sammich was on. They have glass cases in the entry way filled with random items and a ton of pictures. It keeps you busy while you wait for your food.

I know taste is individual but this is the best Sandwhich shop in Portland OR. Their spicy bulgogi is perfection. Great staff wonderful place with the best food. It makes you feel like home. I love the Taste Tickkler.

    Famous Tickler Sandwich

I saw the Taste Tickler and was intrigued. Asian fusion sandwich place!!! I was ready. I was a little confused that the sandwiches, including the famous tickler are a little more traditional. While they do have a few Asian style sandwiches, many are similar to other delis. They do have rice and teriyaki dishes, which I'm told are delicious. The prices here are pretty fair and you get a good amount of food for the price. It can be busy during lunch and you might be waiting outside. Try to order ahead for pickup. I got the famous tickler sandwich. I can't recall the size, but they have three options. It was packed full of meat and I could not finish it in one sitting. This place is worth checking out.

Awesome sandwich spot for lunch. Got the famous tickler - really solid. The bread is a standout for sure.

Very good gluten free bread option for their sandwiches. I had a bulgogi sub and it was truly tasty!

Ask the Community - Taste Tickler

Is there anything good for vegan folks here?

Malibu Veggie Sandwich would be a good start or just make your own sub with whatever ingredients you fancy from the menu. Hope that helps!

I listened to a 1-hour loop of Camila Cabello's Never Be the Same 3 times in a row and stared into space, barely avoiding sleep. I fear I am not strong enough to consume even a portion of their delicious sandwiches. Despite the nap coma, the sandwich was wonderful, and I will be returning. The fried eggplant was peppery and salty without being overly oily. I do wish that the sandwich had more lettuce inside, but I really enjoyed every part of it. The bread was particularly good: it was fluffy, had the perfect amount of chewiness, and was an appropriate thickness (thin enough to easily take a bite, thick enough to enjoy the bread's flavor with each mouthful). I think that $17 for a sandwich is pretty steep, but half was enough to fill me, and I was very hungry before eating. You could easily split a sandwich with a friend. I also tried their peanut butter-miso cookie. The peanut butter flavor came through strongly and reminded me of a Nutter Butter cookie. Unfortunately, I could not taste the miso, and the cookie was quite dry. I have heard great things about their Rainbow dessert (sorry, I forget the name), so I will give it a try next time. Parking was rough around lunchtime, so you may have to circle the block a few times before finding a spot. I would recommend eating in their large outdoor seating area if the weather is nice!
