Or if you add cheese and melted it on top it's called doria. I chose the former as I'm a classicist, usually, when it comes to comfort foods. Makoto, the owner demonstrates the second excellence: Customer Service. He welcomed me and then he asked if I had had curry before? He asked if I had any allergies, and then he explained the system to me: select one of the three bases, and then decide which style. Ultimately I went with beef curry because it's the classic I am used to, and requested a side of spinach. Everything was plated swiftly and beautifully and brought to me. The rice was perfectly chewy, the beef curry was seasoned with exceptional balance, not too thick, not too heavy, not too sweet... Just right, and the tender beef pieces were the right size. Punctuated by a side helping of bright pickled radish, and deep green spinach, the dish was just right for $11.95 + a dollar for the spinach. Definitely it was the ideal late lunch. Well he prepared the dish we talked about some shared common, interesting and friendly conversation that was made possible because the lunch rush was over. It's a corner location with very large windows, and bright light, which on a grey day can be quite welcoming. Add to that a perfect dish of comforting curry, and your day will get better.

Gaeng Ped Dang 2/5 - Thai red curry with chicken, eggplant, bell peppers, and bamboo shoots. Ordered a 5 spice on Thai dish and it came out more like a 2. Curry flavor was good, vegetables were way overcooked and pretty mush. I'm not even sure what the spice scale is anymore at this point. Crab Fried Rice 1/5 - There was peas and carrots in the fried rice.. peas and carrots do not belong in fried rice, especially Thai fried rice. Rice was mushy, and crab was disappointing. It was literally so shredded and sewn into the dish that you couldn't really tell if there was crab or not. For $25 give me some actual crab pieces. Fried rice is literally the highest profit margin food on a menu. Spice on this felt like a 3. Thai Tea 4/5 - Wasn't too sweet, best thing I had the entire meal. We probably won't be back. I rate this a very low 2 or a very high 1.
