I haven't had boke bowl in a while and I like how many vegan and gluten free options there were. However, the Caramelized Fennel ($15) was a bit on the blander side and lukewarm. I like how the ingredients were fresh, but the greens were interesting like there was arugula in bowl. A bit of like a liquid salad, but it's definitely healthy... Unsure if the cod fish was actually trout? I enjoyed the jackfruit taco but the mushroom was a bit bland. Rice tots were interesting. Fast service too! I came during curry week, I saw that they were participating and had a vegan option. I love me some curry, and their Zesty Red Chile & Turmeric Coconut Curry with Tofu was very flavorful; and a good portion size for $10! I also got steamed buns, 2 Mushroom buns and a Hot & Spicy Jackfruit bun. I really liked the mushroom buns! I ordered at the counter and the woman was pretty helpful with my order. I sat at the long community table and my order was brought out to me. Looking at the menu, I saw quite a few vegan items that I would like to try on a future visit. However, I was getting anxiety looking for parking. I finally found a spot after driving up and down the street. And my anxiety was heightened when I returned to my vehicle to find I was pretty boxed in. I decided to go to Boke Bowl in person, since one of my kiddos wanted to try the Boke burger. I really wanted to like it and hoped the fresh burger would be better than the one delivered. Unfortunately, I still feel the same as when I first reviewed the burger. There's no crunch and the burger too greasy. Service was good. We had a friendly cashier and the server was nice. Tons of seating, fast casual food, pricey, small menu. There aren't a ton of options here, but you can add foods to your bowls for extra. It was decent enough for lunch but of the three times I've been here my ramen was just warm (not hot). The veggies were always al dente which doesn't really work when your soup is lukewarm. The people are friendly enough. The inside has high ceilings with Japanese decor. Ample seating. PORTLAND SANDWICH WEEK brought us here. The Korean Spicy Sando is at the top of my list (out of the 5 that we tried this week). Wish they offered this in their regular menu 'cause it was BOMB AF. 10/10 !!! Boke Bowl is located in the industrial east side of Portland. We don't generally find ourselves in this area, so I'm glad that the Portland Sandwich Week forced us to check this spot out. There's only STREET PARKING available. The restaurant itself is super spacious with lots of indoor seating. We especially liked the modern and bright/airy feel of the space. Service was TOP-NOTCH and our food came out QUICKLY! We decided to add a side of the BRUSSELS SPROUTS SALAD with our sandwich and I'm so glad we did 'cause this dish had so much flavor and is a hit on their original menu. I just went to Boke Bowl for Dumpling Week in Portland. I had their special duck wonton in chili sauce. The duck wonton was good. What was disappointing was that they forgot our order. The server was very nice, and apologized and brought us some extra rice. The rice was very disappointing both times it was brought to us. It was cold and sticky like it was old rice that had been made the day before, or hours before. I also got a tapioca dessert to go that I was excited to try at home. It tasted way too sweet, and I almost threw it way as you couldn't really even taste the tapioca just the sugary mango puree on top. The atmosphere is industrial which is pretty cool. I liked the layout of the place. The parking is terrible as it's in the industrial section. Fortunately there was a parking lot just a few blocks away. Quick eats that are ok, and the fusion just works so so. I don't get why this place is so popular as they're a few locations. The only thing I can come to is it's pretty cheap, fast, and a hip cool place. Industrial vibes are cool you know!!! read more

Boke bowl is a family favorite. We don't order in because something is lost in transit, but in house, the food is fresh and delicious. They can accommodate allergies and always take great care at the counter. The stop to eat dinner here last night with my husband was happenstance. We were over at the Lloyd district neighborhood earlier for another event and were driving around and passed by Boke Bowl and decided to drop in for dinner. I really enjoy a great bowl of ramen, and I was not disappointed. The woman who was working the register when we came in let us know that we just needed to order off the wall, or menu behind us, take a seat and we would be served our dinner and they would buss the table at the end of the meal. As this was our first time visiting, we wanted to order different items to get a taste of the products. We ordered the Pork Bone Dashi - slowed smoked pulled pork, soy, bonito and seasonal veggies which included a nice squash. My husband ordered the Duck Dashi which was made with duck broth, duck confit, crispy brussel sprouts and seasonal veggies and lastly, we ordered a shared order of the Pork & Shrimp Siu Mai. The food was hot and good, but we felt like it lacked a bit of depth in flavor. However, while unlike me to not do research on a restaurant before going, I could tell by the bit and chew of the noodle they were home made, which I appreciated. I also though the siu mai were filled well and were larger than others I have had before. We ate a bit and took the rest home. They had great to go containers, which is important when it comes to Ramen. The restaurant itself was set up more communal style, lots of shared tables and then a few individual tables against the wall. It was clean and for the size, had a nice space. I liked the simple decor. I additionally appreciated watching the gentleman under the "bowl wall" making something on the spot. FRESH!! The good news - our ramen had even more depth and flavor today as leftovers. I think while they are aiming to present "fresh food" often food increases in flavor when it has time to "marinate and set." This is true of their food in my opinion. The down side, the prices were high for a ramen bar in my perspective. If I were to get food from Boke again, I would stop in and place my order to go and let it sit overnight before I dive in. read more

Both times that I visited, I was happy with the service and the quickness that I received the food. The burger and dumplings were delicious. My friends and I stopped to eat dinner at Boke Bowl before our drive back to Seattle, after walking along the water. The buns are a good price and a good size, but they are mostly filled with filler such as veggies and not much of the actual protein. In addition, the bao (breading) is not as fluffy as you would expect. I thought the Sichuan wontons were pretty good, but definitely not filling enough for a meal. My one favorite was the fried pears - surprisingly really good! They are just as sweet as normal pears and the texture is really nice and chewy. I would probably give this place another try and get the ramen next time I am around. read more

Poke and ramen place in Water Street area. I had a tuna poke. It was a salad like poke here. With pokes, each shop has different poke, you can't tell until you actually get the dish. The poke had, tuna, grilled delicata squash, cucumbers, tomatoes, avocado and a pile of arugula. The rice was mixed with a bit of sesame. Kind of a Warehouse location of Portland, but there plenty of other restaurants around. We selected this one because it looked healthy and quick. This is a restaurant with lots of Vegan, Gluten free, and meaty choices. We were a group of 8 with 4 children and they mostly lied the food. The fried chicken buns were their favorite.
