I've have a gift card for Nudi for over a month. Finally made the 35 minute to the restaurant but regret it. I stood there for over 5 minutes with my newborn and not a person in sight. Finally a bigger guy walks to the counter and didn't offer service but just stood there a few feet away looking down. Finally asked what I wanted to order and after I went to redeem my gift card on my phone he literally stood there for 30 seconds just staring my screen and then just said they only take card or cash. 10/10 for the food! I'd recommend getting the oyster shooters and the Angry Birds dish to begin. The vinaigrette on the angry birds dish went so well with the tempura prawns. Our friends brought us to Nudi on a sunny Saturday early evening, and we absolutely loved it. We sat outside and enjoyed the butterfly flower drink and the watermelon margarita special, both of which were refreshing and unique. The devil wings appetizer had a great kick and were a strong start to the meal. We were also impressed by the chocolate ribs. One of my favorite restaurants in Portland. I've definitely go a couple of times a year. And I always order the same thing. The lak sa is creamy and delicious. I love how they are very generous with their vegetables and tofu in the broth and the broth is very flavorful. It had been a while since I've been back here. The place is located in the Woodstock neighborhood. They have both an indoor and outdoor seating area. We ordered the coconut chicken fettuccine, boat noodles, laksa, galbi jjim, chocolate ribs, and kids noodle bowl. I thought that the galbi jjim was well made and had lots of flavors that went well. So this place shares a parking lot with my pilates studio and so I smell it every dang day and I finally made my family meet me here for dinner after a class and HOLY MOLEY this is a slammin good time! So off the bat I felt bad because the hours were listed incorrectly and I thought we had an hour and 20 minutes but it turned out they closed in 20 and i was trying to just we get an order to go but the server assured me it was ok but dang! Hard to find a good spot in the 'burbs so we drive out to East Portland for some good eats. Heard this was Libre's sister spot and it didn't disappoint. We went during lunch during the week and it wasn't too hectic, very kid friendly. Server was so nice and recommended the Namtok which is a new item on their seasonal changing menu. It was pretty good, different to what we normally order so it's refreshing. The Lak Sa interesting but good and the Pad See Ew was good. Looking to come back to try new things out. read more

Our service was super friendly but didn't come back to check on us at all for water or anything else after the food were delivered. Devil Wings $14: served in a brown plastic which was different. Beside it was hot, we tasted to flavors. Phuket Oyster Shooter $12: I didn't care for the French sorrels at all. Seven Spice Duck Ramen $18: it was too much on a sweet size, perhaps too much palm sugar and dried dates in this batch. Angry Birds $15: my friends liked it. I liked everything else in it except the tempura prawns. I don't think the tempura prawns pair well with this base of salad. We were bummed the only dessert they offered, sticky rice with mango was out for the week. It was only Wednesday's night. The server told us they only made certain amount at the beginning of the week and when it sold out, that's it. I think they need to rethink this approach. I am happy to see Nudi kept up with their ambiance, food quality and service. Like last time, we felt they have a good and authentic selection of teas if you are interested and that goes nicely pre and after your meal....they also have cocktails if u like that better. We came here because of the great reviews. Big mistake. First, let's talk about the bugs. There was a dead ant floating in my watermelon margarita. Disgusting. Thought maybe it was a fluke--until I looked over and saw another dead ant in my husband's drink. Even without the bugs, the drinks were awful--tasteless, watery, and suspiciously weak. They looked nice, sure, but I honestly don't think there was a single drop of alcohol in them. The service? One waiter for the entire restaurant, and it showed. Excruciatingly slow. We ordered the fried calamari and devil wings--and yes, I understand it's gluten free (I've had celiac since I was 8), but this was just bad food. The wings weren't just spicy; they were so overloaded with seasoning that you couldn't taste anything but salt and heat. No actual flavor, just a bomb of unpleasantness. But the worst part was what happened when I tried to order a simple kids meal--rice and chicken for my neurodivergent daughter, no carrots or broccoli. The waiter flat-out refused and told her to just "pick it out." Excuse me? If you cater to dietary needs like celiac, you should understand how unsafe and dismissive that is. Then, as if that wasn't enough, he turns to my daughter and says, "It'll make you beautiful." I had to stop him and say, "She's already beautiful, thanks." He kept pushing, continuing to comment on her appearance in relation to vegetables. Sir, we're on vacation. I'll manage her diet. Not you. We got up and left at that point--and they still had the nerve to charge us for the bug-ridden drinks. Oh, and one more thing: we arrived at 6pm--dinner hour--and the place was nearly empty. 4.5 stars. I'm not sure how I haven't been here in so long. I went here all the time when I lived in Woodstock. It was the one place open on holidays, and many times I didn't want to cook. I went back for the first time recently, and remembered how good it is. The salad wasn't super practical to eat, but it was yummy. The jap chae is really good. The crab rangoons are a must. I honestly recommend anything. The passionfruit iced tea is also amazing. You won't see it on the normal menu, so ask for it! read more

We love supporting small businesses and Nudi is definitely a great spot to try. We got the Miso ramen, Phuket Oyster shooter and the Seven Spice Duck Ramen. The Phuket Oyster shooter was definitely on the spicy side which we didn't expect, but it's definitely different from other shooters that we had. The Seven Spice Duck Ramen is definitely a must get, the broth is so flavorful and the meat is very tender and soft. Lastly, the Miso Ramen was on the mid tier for us because there wasn't anything special about it but it is still very delicious and solid choice if you want more of a less salty and strong flavor. Why did we wait so long to eat here? The food is delicious! The first time our family of 4 ate here it was perfect. Everyone devoured their entrees. 3 of us shared the frog leg appetizer (someone wasn't feeling adventurous) The second time we ate here was date night. We shared one of their daily specials. It was an amazing salad with edible flowers, unique greens, mango and lamb chops. The lamb, it was cooked to perfection. We each had hot toddies. They were well balanced and delicious. Our shared entree was another special with prawns, mango and avocado. The amount of flavor and texture were next level good. This spot is now in our rotation for date night. It is so good. I think they were having an off day. I've heard so many good things from friends. There were some missing items like the oysters and the beer, but after we ate our noodles, we were ready to go. Onto the food we got. The ramen was good. My husband really enjoyed it. I got the laksa without shrimp. I think they were extra generous with the pork because of this. I found that the broths were so sweet, I couldn't finish mine as I normally do with broth. I also felt a sugar high after eating, which caused me to have a sugar crash shortly after. The eggs weren't soft in the middle, like I'd seen in others' photos. Overall, I was disappointed. Hope to try them again in the future, since so many people really like them. I think you get a little bit sweaty when you see the $$ on the menu but to understand the prices, you have to see the portions. These dishes were served on big Pyrex baking dishes. This is enough food to feed a table of 4. The highlight of the night was definitely the noods. Both the pad Thai and the pad see iew just had the most delicious flavors. Of course they are classic dishes but they were just so dang tasty! The devil wings were good but it's hard to eat in the bag. I understand the concept but it failed in my opinion. Word to the wise with the wings.. shake the living out of that bag. All of the seasoning is on the bottom of the bag so your first few bites might be confusing until you really shake and bake. We came on Monday night, and this restaurant had about 3 other tables dining as well that night. Music was lots of EDM song remixes and ambiance is dark and moody, perfect for date night or casual dinner. Our server was cheerful. Food- The chocolate ribs (which other people raved about), sorry to say, were a disappointment. It came on sizzling hot platter, but were very dry and tasted burnt. The chocolate didn't enhance the flavor. We also ordered boat noodles (my husband said it was basically pho) but with a heavy hand of sugar and fish sauce, and my laksa noodles were spicy and also very heavy with more fish sauce and lemongrass. These two bowls of noodle soups honestly had flavors we personally just found bit overwhelming and not to our taste. Finally, a random small kid kept coming over to talk to us as the hot sizzling platter came out, pointing and asking hey what's this? what's that?.... and while you might find your kid cute, I just kept telling the kid not to touch our food as we don't want him getting hurt... no idea if it was owner's kids or another diners table as he wandered around talking to everyone. 3 stars overall for this fusion experience. read more

A fantastic restaurant out here on Woodstock. I've always driven by Nudi, but haven't had the chance to stop by and dine in. We had a larger party, so we were sat outside in a nice patio area. Throughout our experience, we had great service as our water was always being filled. I enjoyed that Nudi offered a lot of unique and experimental fusion menu items, such as the chocolate ribs and coconut chicken fettuccine. I found almost every dish to be flavorful and wish I could try even more of the menu. I definitely would recommend the Pad See Iew and the Coconut Chicken Fettuccine. I will say I was a bit disappointed by the Kimchee Udon and the Pink Kimono cocktail. I feel like these items didn't stand out as much as the others. Parking here is easy and walking in, the shop is quite small, with dim lighting making for a romantic atmosphere. Their menu is quite broad with so many unique items that caught my eye. My friends and I got the devil wings which were great before ordering our entrees. I ordered the coconut curry chicken, but they mixed up my order and gave me a laksa. Fortunately, the staff was so kind (all throughout our dining experience) and gave me my proper order without adding anything to the bill. With that said, being able to try both dishes made me like the place so much more. Both were so so different but delicious. The coconut chicken fettuccine was such an interesting and well-done fusion dish, while the laksa was a classic. We had their special it's a crab stir noodle, which was amazing, pretty hard to eat, because you had to crack it yourself, but it is so delicious and flavorful! The salad let's talk about the salad! The waiter added tip to my bill after I had left. This place wins the prize for worse service I have ever had. We ordered, and about ten seconds after he left he came back to ask us what we order (not a big deal, but weird). Then when the food was ready, he gave our dishes to the people that came in right after us, at a table next to us (again not a big deal, accidents happen). The people kindly told him it was the wrong food. So he left our plates there. Then brought them their food when it was ready. Never said a word to us (uncool). Had the cook remake our meals. It was obvious what had happened once out food came out, because identical food was sitting at their table. We didn't say anything, because it was not worth causing a scene. When it came to pay, I put in a low tip because the extra wait due to his mistake and not saying anything. Before I could sign for it, he pulled the handheld card reader away. I should had said something in the moment, but i assumed that the weird behavior was because he was high. I checked my CC statement later and he helped himself to a 20% tip, instead of the 14% that I thought was fair. It was only $2.50 extra, so not a huge deal. Their service is lacking to begin with, but listing the gratuities in descending order starting at 30% is outright deceitful. They should really ask themselves if tricking customers into giving larger tips is worth the risk of earning a shady reputation, and creating distrust with their patrons. I have been wanting to try to laksa because it's hard to find a good one. The laksa had way too much noodles and not enough soup for me. The broth was not up to my standards for a good bowl of laksa either. It was a little too sweet and just tasted a little off from what a laksa is suppose to taste like. I skip the wings too because it's pretty pricey for what it is. She told me it was 5 jumbo wings, but they're only normal sized wings. First time trying Nudi, but it's been on my radar for a long time. I called in our order for pick up - very easy. We ordered the beet salad, garlic frog legs, chocolate ribs, yellow curry with prawns and the pad see lew. I arrived on time and they were just setting up my order. The inside of the restaurant looked great and very inviting. I was well taken care of from my entrance, getting my food, and leaving. I got home and started plating the food for my family. The chocolate ribs were amazing!! Great taste and fall off the bone tender. The garlic frog legs were good but not as crispy on the outside as they could have been. I would not order these again. The beet salad was a great accompaniment to the meal and had great taste. The yellow curry with prawns was great! Really good flavor, lots of rice and ample prawns cooked just right! Food: 5+++ it was amazing. I had the cauliflower curry rice waffle and the kimchee udon. I think the former was either broccoli or romanesco, but either way it was DELICIOUS. The kimchee udon was exactly what I would have imagined from the menu, sweet and sour and spicy. Service: 4-ish? It was on the later end of their hours, and I'm not sure the bar was fully staffed, so drinks were a little odd. The drink special was tasty but I'm not sure there was much alcohol in it. And they couldn't make a martini.... our server was very kind about it, but it was so awkward. I would definitely go back and would recommend it.
