I ordered Crispy Pork Egg Noodle to go. The food was very good. The employee was very nice and helpful. Warm & cozy restaurant.

The Chomp is the perfect dining experience from the ambience of the restaurant to the food. The walls are lined with memorabilia like Pez, Disney and NBA, but it's tasteful... I swear! The best service in Portland too, so kind and patient as you try to decide. My favorites on the whole menu are: - Khao Soi with Crispy Pork Belly - Crab Chowder (trust it's a must) But everything I have eaten there, and I have a good amount is great!

I came here for dinner with one of my friends and we had a great time. The interior of the restaurant is homey and casual, and there's plenty of seating for parties of different sizes. The service here is pretty quick and they were nice. Their menu is pretty simple, with a variety of Thai rice, noodle, and soup dishes (there were no salads on the menu, unfortunately). Their prices and portions are good! I got their pra ram noodles with chicken while my friend got their crispy pork belly. Both dishes were delicious and very comforting. I've never had pra ram noodles before, and really enjoyed it--it was nutty, flavorful, and came with lots of veggies which I loved. Overall, a good casual spot for Thai food in Portland!

Had dinner at The Chop in the Brooklyn neighborhood and it did not disappoint! The food was top-tier. I highly recommend the see eww noodles--savory soy sauce noodles with your choice of protein. I went with the chicken, which was perfectly cooked and flavorful. My husband chose the crispy pork with rice--crispy, tender, and absolutely delicious. He also ordered the Thai tea, which is on the sweeter side--perfect if that's your thing! We shared the Samosa appetizer, filled with a rich yellow curry. Everything was flavorful and satisfying. Highly recommend checking it out!

Nice people, good food, spacious place. We asked for recommendations and after many questions decided on basil pork belly. It was slightly fried and the sauce was so refreshing.

We ordered pickup online for our first experience at the Chomp. The food was ready and packed on time. We ordered the Moo Satay, Fresh Rolls w/ Shrimp, Gra-Teim w/ rice and Crispy Pork Belly, Crab Fried Rice and the See Ew Noodle with Chicken. The Moo Satay was great - wonderful flavor with a very tasty dipping sauce. The Fresh Rolls w/ Shrimp was another great appetizer. Each roll had 2 good sized shrimp and everything inside was crisp. Again, the dipping sauce was a great addition. The Gra-teim w/ Crisp Pork Belly was ok. The pork belly was a little more than crunchy and a bit hard. The fatty/meaty parts had good flavor. The Crab Fried Rice had a good amount of crab on it but the rice was pretty plain and uneventful. The See Ew Noodles w/ Chicken was not a fan at our dinner table. It was bland and nothing jumped out. While some items we had were really good, as a whole we will probably go elsewhere in the future

If I was rating this place for food taste alone, I would give it five stars. There is plenty of seating and it was easy to park nearby. It was pretty cold in the restaurant. They have a lot of windows, but maybe need to turn up the heat. I saw some pics of beautiful crab rangoon on yelp with something that looked like curry inside. I ordered the crab rangoon and they were indeed gorgeous. They were plated beautifully, fried to perfection, and delicious! They are definitely not traditional and have a curry aspect to the inside. The sauce is also pretty tasty. While delicious, it occurred to me that 4 of these for $7 seems kind of ridiculous, especially compared to the amount of food you get for the price for samosas or even main entrees. I feel like that should have been $5 or had a few more on the plate. The entrée was the tofu with mixed vegetables. It was a beautiful medley and very plentiful. Some people said the tofu was salty, but I think it was the brown sauce that is salty. I really enjoyed the seasoning level, but I prefer heavy salt. The tofu was fried well and they didn't skimp. $14. When asked for hot sauce I agreed! Out of the two options the "fresh chili" is amazing! Spicy It's worth a try.

Was in the mood for Thai food and stumbled upon this restaurant while being in the area. I placed an order for take away of three noodle dishes (Pad Thai Noodle with tofu, Pad Kee Mao with pork and Pad See Ew with pork), Moo Satay, Crispy Pork Belly, Fried Chicken and Sweet Sticky Rice with Coconut. Overall the food was fine. The Moo Satay was smaller than expected and didn't taste like it was grilled. The peanut sauce that came along with it was delicious. The Crispy Pork Belly was crispy, but had an unusual sticky chewy texture. I'm not sure if it was intentional or not. The Sweet Sticky Rice with Coconut was extremely small in portion. The rice was overcooked to where it was mushy and the coconut flakes were burnt. I sadly was disappointed. There were no customers at the time I arrived (on a Friday evening). Street parking only and may be difficult as there are limited spaces.

Delicious. Authentic flavors and preparation, large portions. I had the Pad See Ew with chicken and a side of peanut sauce. I'm not familiar with the area to know if parking is always as easy as I had (noon Saturday) and why the place didn't have a line out the door!

The the combination of smoky, tender barbecue with the creamy Thai curry was so good. The burnt ends brought that deep, savory, slightly charred flavor, while the curry gave it a completely different dimension. The flavors worked well. I just wished the burnt ends were more fatty. We also tried a pork belly dish, which was another highlight. The pork was rich and flavorful, and I loved the crispy fried egg, green beans, cucumber, and fish sauce with it. Flavor was great on this, and it had a crisp, crunchy batter - Wok fried yu choy: great wok char - Smoked pork krapao: crispy pork belly pieces, a fried poached egg (literally deep fried). Break up the yolk to dip with the pork. The cucumbers and green beans are a nice clean accompaniment; spicy fish sauce was great - White curry with brisket burnt ends: I've never had a white curry, but the white curry and cauliflower was a great match for the super rich brisket pieces. I love the interesting combination! Note: pretty much everything has some spice to it, so for kids, the jasmine rice and yu choy are the main items, though my older daughter did ok with the fried chicken and brisket! Music was great, and all of the food flavors were bold. Though flavor combinations were unique, everything was cohesive. They were packed on a Wednesday for lunch, so I'm glad we got here before noon to snag a table. I wish the Bay Area had more interesting fusion done right like this (I feel like fusion is a bad word in the food world...)

You can watch them frying the roti in front of you, they have a great flavor (they're a bit on the thick side), and the curry is absolutely sublime, with an incredible depth of spices without being hot. I also really enjoyed the freshness and textural blend of the "rice salad," with great cucumbers and herbs, although it was too spicy for my dining companions. I admit I didn't think the fried chicken was anything special--the chicken was moist (even the white meat), but the outside could have been crunchier. But I'm not the biggest expert in fried chicken, nor in pad thai, and both were certainly competent even if not as exceptional. Sticky rice was also cooked perfectly.

There is only one vegetarian item on the menu, the veggie curry. It's sort of an afterthought, throwing a bone for the vegetarians in the group. (Could they not make a vegetarian version of the Southern pad thai, just to be a pal?) The curry sauce is tasty, but the veggies were completely undercooked. Raw, tough, spongy pieces of underdone eggplant. It was like the person cooking it did not know what to do with a vegetable. The roti is tasty (I'm not familiar enough with Southern Thai to critique it). But if there's just one veggie item on the menu, and it's just vegetables in a curry sauce, I feel a restaurant should take pride in getting it right. Seating is a little tight, but somehow that adds to the atmosphere as you end up sharing a table with strangers, which is fun. Service is fast and food came out fast (too fast, in the case of those poor eggplants).
