Cheers to Apple sake

Gluten-free review: We stopped into the Portland location and immediately we're happily greeted. I got the the vegetarian ramen with gluten-free noodles. So savory give a five out of five. My friend got the miso Ramen gluten-free. It's a little spicy, they loved it. Then I had some delicious tea and some cold apple sake to top it off such a great meal! Such a wonderful service.

We're from out of town and have been struggling to find ramen that we like since our favorite restaurant burned down during Covid. This place was so delicious. We ordered miso ramen, spicy miso ramen, chicken karage, and edamame. Total came out to $67 before tax. The service was quick and attentive, ambiance was perfect for a Saturday night. We'll be back next time we're in town!

It's been awhile since I came back to this location. We stopped by for a quick lunch and were satisfied. The place has always been consistent and quick to get our food out. The karaage was cooked perfectly. The spicy unami ramen had the right amount of spice to it as well.

The food, service and overall vibe of this establishment is wonderful. I always get the Tamago Mayu Ramen, which has black garlic with the miso base for the broth, and it has never disappointed me. The karaage with the spicy mayo is a must get! I can't recommend this place enough. There is consistently hot and tasty ramen!

Visited Oregon for the first time and saw this spot recommended on Tiktok in Portland. Very happy I came to check it out! Upon arrival we saw a tablet to put yourself on the waitlist and it wasn't that long of a wait on the weekend. The staff were very nice and welcoming but you could tell they're quick to turn your table over. We ordered the Chicken Karaage as an appetizer and it was so good, especially with the sauce. My gf ordered the Corn Butter Ramen with tofu and egg added. She also got wanted the Spicy Umami Meat on the side because she wanted to try it but was scared to have it in the ramen. I ordered the Miso Ramen with egg and corn. Our waitress unfortunately somehow missed placing my order on her tablet and only brought out my gf's food. After some time I noticed it wasn't coming and flagged someone down. They were confused and someone else came to help. Then the manager came and apologized which I appreciated. He offered Mango Mochi Ice Cream on the house. At least it was acknowledged! The ramen was delicious! We wanted to eat all of it but couldn't. It was a great portion for us. Luckily my gf got the spicy umami meat on the side because it was veryyy spicy for her. Made her tear up! It was a good experience despite having to wait extra for my ramen. I wish I lived in Oregon to return!

What can I say I love ramen! This spot is so good the ramen selections are amazing. They have so many different types of ramen to choose from and also other dishes. I tried the spicy miso ramen and oh man it was so good! Definitely left my nose runny from the spice but in a good way . I would highly recommend this place for someone having a craving for good ramen especially on a cold rainy day.

We decided on Ramen Ryoma for a last-minute birthday dinner, and even though there was a bit of a wait for the three of us, it was well worth it. The place was packed for after 8 p.m. on a Friday, which is always a good sign. My son and daughter-in-law both ordered ramen. She chose the miso broth--their most popular option--and I can absolutely see why. It was incredibly flavorful and comforting, especially on a cold, rainy evening. My son had the shoyu broth, which was also delicious, but the miso definitely stole the show for me. I went with the curry bowl and ate every last bite. It had a little kick to it but was so rich and satisfying. Service was great as well--our server was very attentive despite how busy it was. Overall, Ramen Ryoma is a cute, cozy spot with great food and a lively atmosphere. A perfect choice for a casual celebration or a comforting meal on a chilly night.

This place is the best bang-for-your-buck ramen spot in Portland. A group of friends and I went around 10 PM on a Saturday- Ramen Ryoma is open late and was packed, although we only had to wait a few minutes for a table. The overall feel of the restaurant is very cozy, and the small-ish size meant our server was quick to take our order and bring the food. I had the spicy ramen with miso broth and loved it! The noodles were al dente and slurp-able late at night after a few beers. The meat and added egg were also chewy and delicious. The broth could have been a little spicier, but that just means I'll order the two star spiced broth next time. Total price for 4 people with appetizers was $75- truly such a great late-night spot!

We came here in a Saturday night around 6:30 to 7 pm. We put our name on the wait list about a 15 minute wait and there was 6 people ahead of us. It is a small place the food is so good the noodles are top tier. Service is amazing the only thing is that I felt rushed and I get they want people in and out but please be more attentive to just going with the flow I don't like feeling rushed especially with ramen lol. Other than that the vibes and atmosphere and especially the food is delightful and delicious! I had the garlic edamame teriyaki chicken skewers and the basic miso ramen!

I've been burned by overhyped & under delivering Ramen shops before, but not this one. Ramen Ryoma in Portland was delicious, the service excellent, and the menu and ramen outstanding. This is a great spot for heartwarming ramen in downtown, and the folks inside make it even more delicious

We loveeeeeeeeeeee coming here. One of the faves :))) They never disappoint! Always delicious and always friendly! Inside is not big for huge parties but lots of seating. They have another room they can accommodate larger parties.

Got a seat at the bar made it just in time around 2pm, before the rush of people came in. Best ramen I've had! Broth is delicious I killed it. Highly recommend making this your next spot

Decent Ramen. Nothing too fancy. Priced good. They fill the water bottle straight from the sink that they give you to drink.

My go to Ramen in PDX. Portions are generous, prices are fair, and the flavors are consistent every time I come back.

Prices are reasonable and they have a good selection of seasonal and specials. My personal favorite is the heather canyon roll and pork katsu! I recommend making a reservation as they have limited seating (around 5 small tables and 4 bar spots) and take a while to make the food. If you're in for an ambient, intimate experience and not in a hurry, I'd definitely recommend this spot!

A generous pour too. Apologies to the purists, but I ordered the California Roll as it consisted of real crab. Roll slices were small. Taste was par for the course. The shrimp croquettes were my favorite item of the night. And I concur with another Yelper that the Chicken Katsu was excellent, and also good portion to price. The Miso cod on special was tasty, but, small. We also ordered eel nigiri, one of the special hand rolls, and yummy sliced duck. Our experience ended with a somewhat unmemorable flan. Service by the lone server was very friendly and efficient, she's a pro. Usually it's points off for a Downtown spot and no parking, but all the inconveniences actually add to the vibe of this must-do Japanese restaurant.

I was looking for food nearby and came across this restaurant. The food was surprisingly delicious! We ordered the chicken katsu curry, kama-age udon (hokkai miso soup), and the kama-meshi seafood. The chicken katsu was cooked perfectly: crunchy on the outside, soft on the inside! The sauce also was the perfect texture and taste. My favorite was the kama-age udon with the hokkai miso soup. I love udon but sometimes don't like how thick it is because it fills you up faster and is harder to digest, the udon here is thinner which I fell in love with! It's soft and chewy and the perfect thickness: you dip it on the soup when you eat it. I also loved the soup, I usually have leftover soup when eat noodles, but I finished every last sip! Definitely recommend this dish if you were to only order one item! We also ordered the kama-meshi seafood. I thought this one tasted okay! The flavors of the seafood come through, but I personally like stronger and heavier flavors. It was worth a try! Parking: This restaurant is in downtown portland so it was difficult to find parking. We ended up parking at a nearby garage and paid for parking. They do have a few street parking spots near the restaurant if you want to test your luck! Seating and service: We were seated really quickly as we went on a weekday! They have several tables and a large table that can be reserved as well as bar spots. The restaurant overall looks really nice and is pretty spacious. The servers were really nice and fast to get you what you need! A side note: they have heated toilet seats in their restroom so that's always a plus!

The highlight of the Omakase was an unexpected one: the "ramen." To be honest, I was a bit skeptical when I saw it on the menu, but it turned out to be an incredible dish--more akin to a refined, cold soba experience--that truly impressed both me and my companion (who is not Japanese). It was so good that it convinced us to return for a second meal. The service is nearly flawless. The staff was incredibly accommodating, even preparing a dish from the Omakase course that wasn't on the à la carte menu upon our request. If there is one area for improvement, it would be the beverage pairing for the Omakase. While the food was excellent, I felt the quality and the portion size of the pairings could have been a bit more ambitious to match the standard of the cuisine. I also missed out on their lunch-exclusive ramen due to timing, which is definitely on my list for next time. Takibi offers a level of satisfaction that goes well beyond any star rating; it's a place that genuinely cares about the guest experience. Highly recommended.

A restaurant connected to Japanese outdoors company Snowpeak? Sure, it's interesting. I like that…read morethey use some of the Snowpeak gear for the service, such as their stainless steel cups for the sake flight. The restaurant itself has a Japanese wood-modern and simple aesthetic. It's cute. They've got the sushi bar and then the back wall with the fire going for the meats. We came in to try the Portland Dining Month menu. It was good - 3 courses, with simple but varied flavors. My only complaint is that the portion of fish was so small, especially compared to the amount of rice they give. I might be annoyed by the smaller portions if I were ordering a la carte. Service was decent, but not particularly amazing to go along with the higher price point here. Happy hour seems like the way to go, considering that the food was good, but now WOW. My cocktail was also good hit on the sweet side. We had a good time for dining month, but I think we will stick to HH if we come back.
