    Village curry with pork

Atmosphere: Food trucks with outdoor seating Food: The Village Curry was excellent. Will definitely return for more. Would have liked a little more but for the price I thought it was a reasonable amount and I left full Price: Price point was reasonable Service: Walk-up service but took a reasonable amount of time for food to arrive Parking: Street parking a few blocks away (or if you can find it closer)

This was a wonderful treat. I went to the food court wanting to try a different place but once I saw their menu I knew I had to divert and try something else!I went with the Pumkin Masala! It was absolutely delicious, you can choose your spice level and I went with medium which was perfect for me. I'll definitely be back to try another item on the menu. The guys in the food truck also had great customer service and smiles! Great job!

This is the Pumpkin Curry with coconut rice (vegan & gluten-free). I didn't get a photo of the noodles, which were equally well-presented.

Fast, friendly, gracious service, delicious noodles, clean kitchen. I went back for the pumpkin curry, which was also top-notch tasty. Spice level was exactly as requested. Vegan and gluten-free options available. Burmese music created pleasant atmosphere. Look for the Eater article to read about the food cart's interesting origins. Village Kitchen is the real deal!

Got the pumpkin curry on DoorDash. Probably the best meal I've had in months. 11/10, will be adding it to my rotation.

If you haven't been to Village Kitchen what are you waiting for?? It's the perfect comfort food for any weather but especially during this cold and rainy season! They offer vegetarian and vegan options if that's your jam. I really enjoy the eggplant curry and the noodles with tofu. But they do offer pork and chicken as well. I have had the pleasure of trying everything on the menu (vegan only of course) and I honestly wish I could eat this everyday. They recently added a new dish to the menu - Pumpkin Purée with Paratha and wooowwww that was such a delicious addition! The Mac Riah is a fun macaroni and curry mash up and it's everything you didn't know you needed. It's vegetarian but they can make it vegan upon request ;) Parking - street parking Seating - lots of seating, heaters and a fire pit Overall experience is wonderful and I will continue visiting the cute food cart in Sellwood for some warm, delicious comfort food no matter what the weather looks like :)

Excellent and distinctive. I had the pumpkin curry pratha and I love the fusion of Southeast Asian and Indian flavors. Highly recommend!

Burmese eats in Sellwood y'all! Always refreshing to try new cuisine and change it up. I got the Kachin Tribe chicken and while it's reminiscent of curry flavs the nuances of spices intrigued my palate to have more bites as the taste is familiar yet foreign at the same time. This cart is located in the PikNik pods next to New Seasons. There are a few outdoor tables avail to dine at. I used 2g2g so my order was ready and quick pick up. The front staff was sweet and polite really making it hard not to come back to support biz along with trying more dishes. Glad Kitchen Village is now on my radaaaar.

I love this place! The food is so unique and fresh. It's run by this really cute gay couple and one of them is actually from Burma! So you know you're having authentic Burmese food. I can't say enough about their Village Cooking dish...it's so fragrant and savory, it will keep you wanting to come back for more. Also, I've never tasted anything like their Tea Salad. Super fresh, super crunchy, super tasty. Highly recommend, 10/10, 100%

Modern, clean, cool crowd, and somehow I still walked in carrying a cooler like I was headed to a construction site. I ordered the KPS dumpling and the Lafayette salad because I had read some review complaining the salad got soggy and the portions were too big. Folks, if your salad gets soggy because you poured all the dressing on it and let it sit there like a science experiment, that is between you and God. That dumpling showed up hot and smelling so good I forgot my own name for a minute. I looked at it and thought, that ain't gonna fill me up. Ten minutes later I was sitting there defeated, full, and emotionally attached to a noodle. The best move I made was eating the dumpling first and taking the salad home. Boom. Two meals. Problem solved. Einstein level strategy. Great service, fair prices, no wait, and honestly way better than I expected. Whoever gave this place four stars must've been having a personal crisis. Most recently I ordered the Laphet salad and the "KPS" also known as very large dumpling. Both were good. Asian curries but, like all ingredients, it should not be pushed overboard. We ordered the Family Feast style meal and a single Khao Soi. The Khao Soi is too sweet for my taste for a curry soup noddle; perhaps, I am just not in tuned with Burmese curries. I'd much prefer Malaysian & Indonesian curries, where the curries are leaning towards more savory and do not taste like desserts. Even the other curries from the Family Feast were too sweet. I blame it on the overuse of coconut milk. Service: a single white waitress was serving, covering 4-6 tables, although the place wasn't very busy. She was courteous but goofed up a little when she accidentally spilled water on my thigh, although she apologized profusely. Ambiance: mostly low noise, people at each table spoke softly and are respectful of other people's pleasure in eating their foods. Lighting is soft and somewhat dim. Conclusion: would I return? Probably not on my own accord but it's OK if my folks want to eat there.

We originally wanted to try the beef and potato curry, but they were out, so we went with the chicken as an alternative. The dish itself was simple, with just chicken, potatoes, curry sauce, and paratha but it was packed with flavor. The curry's rich taste paired with the tenderness of the chicken was unlike anything I've had before tasted very hearty. To enjoy it, I shredded some chicken and added it to the paratha, along with a little bit of pickled daikon radish and carrot. If you haven't made the…read moretrip to Top Burmese Ambassador on Main Street, you are missing out on one of the most unique and soulful dining experiences in the Portland area. While the original NW 21st location is a classic, the "Ambassador" location in Hillsboro feels like a true elevation of the brand, combining incredible hospitality with a menu that is a masterclass in Burmese flavors. Here is why this spot is an absolute 5-star gem: The Tea Leaf Salad (Laphet Thoke): You cannot visit a Top Burmese location without ordering this. It is the gold standard--fermented tea leaves mixed with crunchy peanuts, toasted sesame, fried garlic, and fresh lime. It's a texture and flavor explosion that is unlike anything else in Southeast Asian cuisine. The Golden Samosas: These are a "super duper" must-order. They are flaky, perfectly spiced, and served with a house-made sauce that provides the perfect tangy kick. If you want something even more comforting, their Samosa Soup is the ultimate rainy-day cure. Standout Mains: The Coconut Noodle Soup (Khao Soi) is incredibly rich and aromatic, with just the right amount of creaminess. For a more savory, hearty option, the Beef Curry with Pan-Toasted Paratha is spectacular--the beef is fork-tender and the paratha is buttery and crisp. The Service: The "Ambassador" name is fitting because the staff truly acts as ambassadors for their culture. They are incredibly patient in explaining the menu to newcomers and make excellent recommendations based on your spice tolerance. Atmosphere: The interior is beautifully designed--vibrant, warm, and upscale without being stuffy. It feels like a "mini-vacation" right in the heart of Hillsboro. Pro Tip: This location is incredibly vegan-friendly (about 70% of the menu can be made plant-based!), so it's the perfect spot for a group with diverse dietary needs. Don't leave without trying the Burma Blue cocktail--it's as beautiful as it is delicious!
