DO NOT ORDER FROM HERE. I placed an order on their website to pick up on my way back from Dove Lewis with my cat. The person there had no idea I had even placed an order when I came to pick it up. I asked her to cancel it and she told me I had to do that online. Their website clearly says that if you want to cancel an order, you have to call them. I called her once I got home and she assured me my money would be refunded. After 5 days of no refund, I had to call again and they told me that they would make sure I was refunded, but over a week later, I haven't received anything. I had to dispute the charge with my credit card company in order to get a refund. They used to be good when they were a food cart, but they're so poorly run that I'll never order from them again - and I recommend you do the same. read more

Amazing value for a low price! I ordered green curry for takeout and was impressed with how generous the portion was. It included a good amount of vegetables including eggplant. The spice level was a bit higher than expected for mild, but it was still very good. They also have the brown rice option, not just jasmine rice. read more

The food here is fantastic and always super fast even when there's a line standing out on the sidewalk. I always end up getting the pad thai with pork at medium spicy, but that's just on the edge of being too spicy for me so I order a cup of peanut sauce on the side to tame it down a bit. The portion sizes are large enough that they could be cut in half for a single meal; that said, pricing is on par for this neighborhood, about $10-$13 per meal. One time I grabbed my order and immediately dropped my cup of peanut sauce on the group. The guy at the counter was nice enough to hand me another free of charge - very much appreciated! read more

Great mom and pop shop. My go to order is the Thai iced tea, fresh rolls, and pad see ew or curry. Their peanut sauce is my fav vs any place around and $6 for a large Thai iced tea is a steal! Service is always sweet and on top of things. The mom and son duo always make you feel welcomed and appreciated and to add amazing food and drinks as well? My husband and I found this place on accident because we were originally trying to eat at Pettygrove Station but they were closed. There was no line at Sawasdee so we thought why not. I ordered my go to Pad Thai and my husband ordered the pineapple fried rice. The lady was super sweet and she finished our order in about 5 minutes which was both perfect and amazing because we were famished. I really didn't expect much - this is a food cart that's quietly tucked away in a somewhat industrial area. But WOW. For $10 I got some of the best Thai food I've ever had. I ordered the house curry with tofu, which is red curry with peanut sauce. It was absolutely excellent. The food came out super fast, under 5 min, and was piping hot. The flavor had so much depth! I also loved that they put the curry and the rice in the same takeout container - the rice soaks up the sauce in the best way, and you don't have to deal with two containers if you're eating at the office etc. Highly recommend this spot!!! read more

Great food truck with quick, friendly service. "Medium spicy" on the basil fried rice has a kick to it but didn't leave you scrambling for a bucket of water. The best part was the generous serving of mushrooms in the fried rice. The potstickers were reliably good-nothing exceptional-but everything was yummy overall. Tricky to find but worth the search. Be careful when they give you your food in a bag. Always make sure you get everything you ordered. I came back to my office and realized they didn't give me an appetizer I ordered and they put chicken in my veggie fried rice. Food went into the garbage and I will dispute the charges when they try to charge me. Is that how they get free tips? There was no line and only a few of us waiting for food. To be fair, I'd like to start by saying that the food is pretty good, though the portions are definitely on the small side. It's the customer service that necessitates the single star. I've placed three online orders for Sawasdee Thai on NW Pettygrove via Grubhub.com. I liked my last order of Spicy Basil Rice and Thai Iced Coffee, so just before lunch I logged-on to Grubhub and clicked Express Reorder. However, when I arrived at Sawasdee the young woman with whom I spoke appeared confused and fiddled with her iPad quite a bit before telling me that I must have sent the order to their SW Alder location. Having clicked Express Reorder on Grubhub, I knew that this wasn't the case. So, I left Sawasdee without any lunch, and with no free time left to buy any. With ten minutes left for lunch I called Grubhub, who graciously agreed to refund my money and explained what happened: Sawasdee Thai on NW Pettygrove hadn't logged-on to their Grubhub account, so when I logged-on and selected Express Reorder the order was sent to Sawasdee on SW Alder rather than on NW Pettygrove. When I arrived to pickup my food the woman who helped me seemed to realize what had happened, but rather than admit her mistake and offer me something to eat she blamed me for ordering for pickup at the wrong location. Everyone makes mistakes, but one should do the right thing and attempt to make it right. That definitely didn't happen here, and I won't eat at Sawasdee ever again. Kudos to Grubhub for their handling of this. This is the first Yelp review I have ever posted. read more
