    Chicken Wing Noodles
    Kareem A.

Oooof! Those noodles and chicken wings are very tasty. Very much enjoyed every bite and felt like a lot of food. Definitely the type of food truck I want to support and the people who run the truck are awesome. The pod is on Hawthorne behind SteepleJack brewing, which has a lot of space, TVs, coffee, and comfy seats.

New location, same quality food and service. The new spot at Steeplejack Brewing allows you to grab a beer, eat inside or outside and have a variety of a few other food carts. The garlic noodles and dumplings cannot be beat.

Such a cute mom-and-pop food cart. They had been closed for awhile because of health reasons, but they've returned and in a new tiny food pod on 38th across from the Hawthorne Street Fred Meyer. Really friendly service, and I really love their pork and shrimp dumplings. They slightly pan fry them almost like potstickers, but not necessarily super crispy. They are super popular and feels like a bit of a wait for the food. That's why I didn't give it a 5, but it's a solid and popular choice.

Ok, I finally made here to try. I walk to their location on SE 35th Place only to find that they had moved to a new cart pod on Hawthorn across from Fred Meyer on SE 38th. It was worth the effort! The garlic noodles with lollipop fried chicken is the bomb. Also, great the it is next to the new Steeplejack taproom so you can have a beer while you wait. There was a 40 minute wait for orders so might be challenging when rainy. It was a nice warm, dry day today so no worries.

12/10!!! What can I say?? The famous mama chow food truck. Delicious and amazing!! The tofu was nice and fluffy like me. The lollipop wings were definitely fried perfectly where it was all white meat inside when you open it. Lots of flavor once you bite into it just like the garlic noodles. You will have garlic breath for like 2 days if you don't brush correctly but it's definitely worth it. I didn't really use the sauce that they provided because it already had a lot of flavors. Yum!! The service was great! The lady and the man in the back are super friendly and helpful if it's your first time there. There's a lot of seats to sit at. There's also a bar right next door in case you want to get a drink or something. Nice little area with a couple more food trucks to chill and vibe. Will definitely return here again when I go back! Thank you! Keep up with the great food!

Mama Chow's is one of my favorite food carts in Portland. Top five. Hands down. Home cooked delicious food. Great owners. What more could you ask for in a food cart?! Their menu is straight to the point - soups, rice, noodles, dumplings with different protein options, with occasional specials. Less is more, and Mama Chow's truly is more. MC is known for their lollipop wings - but they make all their proteins in house and don't let the wing hype overshadow their delicious bbq pork or handmade dumplings! We got their garlic shrimp garlic noodles (special) and pork & shrimp dumpling garlic noodles. OMG their garlic noodles are so good! Truly garlicky and saucy, it is absolutely delicious. The shrimp was succulent and plump. The pork & shrimp dumplings were rich and flavorful. Truly comfort food. I love Mama Chow's and while they are temporarily closed right now, I cannot wait for them to reopen. I will be first in line!

Whenever they have a collaboration with Lawless BBQ and serve brisket with garlic noodles, I'm there! It is sooo good! I have yet to try their garlic shrimp with noodles but have a good feeling that it will be quite good as well.

Was so excited to see that Mama Chow's Kitchen was finally back open! First of all, the lady that helped us was SO friendly. She was so kind to our children, gave them stickers, talked to them, seriously so welcoming and sweet. We got garlic noodles with dumplings and it was heavenly. I love that the location has an inside seating as well that is right attached to it, it even had pinball, water, and restrooms which was great. The noodles had so much flavor and were so delicious. Also love that you can choose the spiciness of the whole dish, absolutely recommend this place to everyone.

    Garlic Noodles with Wings!

I've been wanting to go here for so long and was not disappointed at all when I finally did! Located in a food truck hall, the area is quite nice and has seating to dine after you've ordered your food. The owners of the truck were so kind and nice to talk to, and the service was overall pretty fast considering how busy they were (they cook the wings as you order them!). We ordered the wonton soup, garlic noodles with wings (iconic), and BBQ pork garlic noodles (which I didn't get a picture of). Everything was delicious. The wonton soup was so flavorful and plentiful of wontons that had delicious filling. The garlic noodles on both of the other entrees were so garlic-y, well-seasoned, and had you wanting more. Although the BBQ pork was delicious, it didn't stand out in any particular way. But!! The wings were definitely a must-try. They were crispy and saucy on the outside but also so soft and juicy on the inside. Highly recommend coming here and trying their garlic noodles & wings as well as their wonton soup!

Garlic noodles with Dumplings and a half order of wings.

So glad I happened upon this place and cannot recommend it enough. The owner here is super enthusiastic and passionate about creating great food. He said "I do it because I love it" I had the dumplings and wings and garlic noodles. Great flavor. Crispy saucy wings, delicate juicy dumplings. Food was so good. It is the back of a brewery along side other food trucks and you can sit inside the brewery with a great atmosphere. Great experience here. You won't regret it!

Grand re-opening with Lunar Year year celebration
    Toria S.

Made the fantastic decision to come on their grand re-opening during Portland's Dumpling week. I say that both with satisfaction and trepidation. We came prior to opening and had a Lunar New Year Chinese Dragon Dance with percussion and fireworks which was really fun! The fireworks were a surprise for dog owners and parents alike in the tiny courtyard. We were second in line and ended up waiting over 20 minutes for our food order so I feel bad for the folks who were behind us. Food was AMAZING, totally worth that wait! We got ourselves 2 orders of the Dumpling week special, the garlic noodles and their chicken wings. Those lollipop chicken wings (star-eyed face emoji)

I have been eating here on and off for the last 10 years. What stopped me from coming here as often when downtown was the line for lunch, the secret got out very quickly and it got very crowded during peak hours. The menu has not changed very much in the last decade and neither has the quality. Everything is still freshly made and you can taste that, my last visit on dumpling week did not disappoint. Lastly the owner and other lady (I have never asked if they were personal and professional partners) are always so nice and efficient. Love seeing them as much as I love eating here.

The fried rice's flavor was pretty muted..I prefer a little saltiness in my fried rice and it honestly had barely any salt? It tasted like plain rice with a little soy sauce and maybe oil flavor? It was very thick and each bite felt more breading than chicken..The flavor of the sauce was good but with how thick the breading was, the inside of the chicken had no flavor at all once I bit in.. Perhaps we ordered the wrong items, but I don't think I'll be back to try any others at least for now. The smashed cucumber salad was super refreshing -- lots of garlic, crunchy, and exactly what you want after hours in the car. The green onion pancakes came out crispy and satisfying, but my favorite was the wood ear mushroom. They did something to it that made it insanely umami and savory, like a dish you keep thinking about later. The fried rice was solid and full of flavor, and you could tell the kitchen cared. The dining room was pretty empty when we went, so maybe it's newer or underrated, which feels unfair because the food deserves more people. Parking around there is kind of a hassle and the neighborhood isn't the prettiest, but this is a definite stop for me next time I'm in Portland.

Shoutout to everyone still working on Thanksgiving Day! Because of hardworking folks like you,…read morepeople who don't celebrate holidays like me can still eat out. I'm super grateful. Before coming, I did my homework and checked reviews on Chinese review website. The opinions were kinda extreme, some said it was terrible, others said it was amazing. Since it was only a 1 minute walk from my hotel and actually open on Thanksgiving, I went for it. I ordered jalapeño beef 小炒牛肉, veggie chow mein 蔬菜炒面, and string beans 干煸四季豆. The beef came out first, and the first bite surprised me. It didn't taste like the jalapeño beef from other Sichuan restaurants. It tasted exactly like Cantonese beef with gailan, but with green bell peppers instead. Instead of tingly spicy, it had a subtle sweetness. If you're Cantonese, you probably know exactly what I mean. The veggie chow mein was good and reminded me of late night street noodles in Guangzhou, and it also had a slightly sweet touch. The string beans were good too, and didn't have any sweetness. There was some savory minced pork in it. If you're not a strict vegetarian and don't mind a little meat in the dish as long as you only eat the veggie part, go for this one, it was flavorful. While having dinner, I overheard Cantonese in the kitchen between the chef and staff, and ahhh, that explains why I tasted the Cantonese flavor in my dishes! It also explains the two types of extreme reviews. So let me be honest, if you come here expecting the Sichuan/Hu'nan version of stir-fried beef with a strong spicy profile, you might be disappointed. But for me, it was honestly a lucky hit. I did see some Sichuan spicy dishes on the menu, but I didn't order them, so I can't say if they're authentic. But based on what I ordered tonight, I was happy with everything.
