Update 2026: After 3 years I've terminated service with Tartan Pools. This last half year has been nothing but problems for us. Vacuum busted, no big deal I get it things break but it took the tech 3 weeks to notice the vacuum wasn't working. It wasn't until I noticed a bunch of debris on the pool floor and then I had to notify THEM to come fix it. They recommended one other than the Pool Vergneugen and that thing just never worked, then replaced with a Vergneugen and it worked right away. Now just recently they cleaned the filter and recommended to replace it. Not only did they charge for the cleaning, but the charge to replace the four filters was over $630. The filters themselves are $200-300 depending on if you want to get them online or through Shasta Pools. Would've gave em the $100 most people want to install new filters, but I'm sure as hell not paying $750+ between a cleaning of filters that should've been replaced and then paying on top of that to get them replaced. Our pool is a cartridge system, so literally all they have to do is empty the skimmer baskets, balance chemicals, and ensure the vacuum is working properly. I don't have the extra maintenance of a sand filter and the system is hooked up to automation. We've been having an issue with the system running with air in it for about a month now. Paid for a flapper repair and they said everything was all fixed. Spoiler alert: it was not. They just don't care to validate that the system is working properly after a repair is done as long as they get paid. Today the main pump is running bone dry so I had to shut it down. I love Dominic as a person. I still to this day would trust him if HE did the repairs, but he doesn't do it anymore......and his office staff are clearly lacking on holding techs to satisfactory repairs. Do not use these guys. The owner comes out and is professional in getting estimates and review what will be serviced but the company, the technician, and the office is not knowledgeable and is careless when servicing pool. I've only been with them a month and there's been multiple issues with them. I would highly NOT recommend. read more

Owner here is great! Always willing to listen and help you with pool issues. Show up weekly for basic service. Pay monthly doesn't include chemicals. Will also provide other services like filter cleanings, draining etc for reasonable price. read more

We transitioned to them for our pool / spa service last year after having some challenges with our previous pool company not doing a great job after a few years. I can empathize it really comes down to the tech servicing your house, but Tartan has been great and they are always here to answer our novice pool questions. We also had them do a complete pool and tile cleaning, which still looks great more than 6 months later, which was not our experience with the previous company we used. We started with firm a little less than a year. At the beginning of, every thing was ok, but in the later months, things gave changEd! The service person dedicated to us was not professional! The pool pump vacuum was not working because of the clogged filter. The owner made us bit a new vacuum! The new vacuum didn't work either! Then he made us buy the new filter! Still the vacuum is not working! We have spent almost $1400 and the pool looks terrible! They are not responding to the phone call right away and the weekend arriving with no service! Tartan pool company gives fantastic service and goes above and beyond to make sure our pool is looking fantastic. Their pricing is affordable and they are quick to respond with any customer service questions. Dominic showed up at 8:30pm to make sure our acid wash was finished and cleaned the rest of it himself. Dominic was great, with fast and clear communication, extremely competitive pricing, and a personal interest in making sure the job exceeded our expectations.
