This place is always a zoo but it is one of the better Targets in the area and closest to me so I wont stop going here. They are hit or miss. Staff isn't always very pleasant and usually very hard to find but check out lines usually are nice enough and tons are open so you don't have to wait too long usually. Furniture and toy selection is pretty good and grocery area is fine... no fresh but decent selection of frozen and the essentials. The parking sucks for this place... always a zoo and people don't pay attention so be careful. I would not recommend coming on the weekend unless you absolutely have to :) read more

This Target is not bad but they do seem to be out of these specific undershirts 90% of the time Husby needs them. He is so picky that he refuses to get any other kind. (rolls eyes) Anyway, this place is great for picking up household items and a few groceries as well. I also use the pharmacy for their cheap generic brands for $4. It's not bad but I don't think everything I need has a generic so it still ends up costing me $20-35 every month, damn allergies. The prices sometimes seem awfully high and the people working there are not always the most pleasant. They do have Starbucks if you like their bitter, icky coffee. I was always under the impression that target was cheap, but that has not been my experience here. It's got loads of good stuff though and it is very convenient. Other problems are that it's always extremely crowded, although that isn't really their fault, and the fact that the checkouts are consistently backed up. I left one of my two bags at self checkout, walked over to the cafe to get a drink, realized I forgot it and the person at the checkout where i forgot it said he found it and gave it to an associate. None of the employees admitted to getting a bag. A manager went to review the camera's, came back and said my daughter took it, which she didn't, she had only one bag with 1 out of the 4 items. They went back to review the tapes again and then gave me my $ back. This process took 45 minutes of my day. None of the managers took a minute to speak to me, they sent a regular associate back and forth as a middle man. It was a miserable experience and ill never go back! read more

I love Target in general, but I was disappointed that this location didn't sell produce especially since their grocery section is relatively large (I like to shop places where I can get everything in one place). I shopped here a couple of weeks ago and finally they have a small produce section! I am giving 3 stars because I'm getting really irritated with the workers trying to sell me on the red card. I already have one and many workers will harass me to get me to use it despite my clearly saying "no." Maybe I just need to be a jerk so that they don't keep asking. I love target! I don't care which store it is. Forget CVS, buy all your beauty crap here. It's cheaper, less congested and not only can u get ur surplus supply of always maxi pads for 6 bucks, but you can also get garlic parmesean flavored chips, the new danielle steele book, the "karate kid" dvd for under 5 bucks, designer duds for less in the clothing dept, and toilet wipes. I am in love. and I disagree with VANILLA P's review (scroll down to read her review first) hah! 1. Parking lot is fine if you know how to park 2. entrance area takes u right to clothes and accessories: enough said. 3. Exit area is NEAR the bathroom: kill 2 birds with 1 stone. 4. Exit area is near my car in the parking lot if u know how to pak. 5. Bathrooms may be unclean but u don't have to use ur hands to open the doors. I find if u "kick it" out u are devoid from complaining. 6. People shop for bargains EVERYWHERE. deal with it. 7. I love the OCB. all u can eat for 11 bucks. Target is my go-to when I need one stop shopping for everything but the kitchen sink (although I bet I could find a kitchen sink there if I needed one). This particular location is very clean and the selection is ample. The staff is generally helpful (one time I fully loaded up a cart only to discover in the check out line that my "mommy brain" was in full force and I had forgotten my wallet - the cashier held onto my stuff and let me jump the line when I came returned with my credit card). Returns have been fast, and I certainly never come home empty-handed. Bulls eye! read more

Now that I live in a place where I can't afford to keep my car, going to Target is a lot more inconvenient. Because of this I've learned to see it differently. I no longer think of it as the place that, 'i'll just stop by and pick up an ethernet cable on my way home'. Now it's the, 'i will slowly replace my tattered underwear collection one month at a time by buying colorful boxer briefs of hanes or FOTL...whichever is on sale' place. And also the, 'try to pick out the most random yet novel collection of cheap dvd 2 or 3 packs' place, e.g. the Burt Reynold's triple feature. And then the, 'whoa, when i eventually start my career i could buy all my non essential that doesn't need structural integrity furniture here' place. On a practical note, they ain't got much in the way of potato chips, but if you're looking for a good deal on chocolate chip cookies then you're in luck. read more

This Target is basic and meets expectations. I frequent this store and it always looks clean and well-stocked. The customer service is always a little hit or miss, but ah, whatever. It's Target. Props for having the awesome Starbucks near the entrance- which has plenty of seating. I'm here almost every weekday morning and the baristas are also pleasant and on top of their game. First, I must add a disclaimer. I am NOT a Target fan. I see it as Wal-Mart with sleeker marketing and higher prices. I've also done some research and found out that their business practices are similar to Wal-Mart. I also think that it's ridiculous that they "blacklist" you if you return items too often. Clothes I've bought there never last me very long either, so I stopped buying clothes there quite a few years ago. In spite of this, I've been to this Target a few times and I find it to be even worse than most Targets. The people who work there are so unpleasant that they border scary, items are disorganized, and I find the store to be laid out in an unintuitive fashion. read more

I almost gave this Target 1-star, but I realized that even though this particular Target sucks, it's still Target so I bumped it up to 2-stars. Like every other Target, this store manages to suck money out of me for the most random items...I'm here almost once a week since it's practically next to where I live- buying eye contact solution, birthday cards, DVDs, Windex, trash bags, etc. etc. The parking lot is a complete mess- I park far away and walk. The store has been under construction for months so nothing is ever clean, stocked, or in the same place. Don't even try to come here on weekends...you'll get run over by a red shopping cart with screaming kids to stomp over you as you recover. read more

It's the week after Black Friday! All the lines in the store were super long inside of Target. I asked an employee if I could check out at 'Guest Services' they informed the line may also be long but I would still be able to cash out. I got in line with a total of 5 items. When I got to one of the registers the lady informed me that this line was solely for returns or exchanges, I asked her if it would be okay to check my items out, she grunted and made other remarks but then proceeded to ring my items up. As she scanned my items she abruptly informed me that I would need to bag my own items because there was not enough room on the counter for her to bag my 5 items. At this point in time I grabbed my items and went elsewhere. I am an avid shopper, and I've never experienced such terrible customer service. I found the nearest manager at the store and relayed this story, she offered to personally ring my items up at the closest register and she scanned all my items on her tablet to search for the lowest prices online.... now that's customer service. read more

I come from the land of western suburbia, where all there is to do on Tuesday night is go to Target. Therefore, I am a Target ADDICT. When I initially moved to Boston, I lived in Mission Hill, where without a car, you are shit out of luck for getting to Target easily. Now I live close to Target and have access to a car and for this I am eternally grateful. I have been to all the Targets in the Boston area (Dorchester, Somerville, this one) and this is by far the best. It's not ghetto and destroyed like the one in South Bay (and you won't get beat up for bumping into a ghetto girl) and much bigger (and seemingly newer) than the one in Somerville. They do have occasional stocking issues - if something is on sale, you're lucky if it's still in stock, but I haven't encountered any of the issues with mean salespeople or bitchy clientele that everyone else has. 4 stars for the really nice man in electronics who helped me buy my iPod ( I wish I could remember your name, nice man!!), the LARGE selection of products that helps me forget that CVS exists, and for hours of entertainment while I wander your aisles. Tarjhay, you only lose a star for weaseling me out of much more money than I planned to spend. read more

I had never been to this target before. Mine were always the ones to the East. New pants were in need and it seemed like a good time to check out the options. The innards are still being rearranged. Boxes and bits are pushed to the periphery. The pants were to the back. They are never as nice as they should be. Their bargain discount outlet accent that I can't understand. But the store is fresh. New car and just opened shrink wrapped package. Some of the freezers still have the plastic. Get there while it is still nice and they have the size that you wanted. While the floors are while and before someone pees in the corner. Unfortunately some of the employees are already a lost cause. read more

I love Target, and I love their prices. Funky stuff, a nice change from the Ames/Caldor days. BUT--this store location frustrates me. The space between racks is minimal, so good luck navigating the aisles with your shopping cart. The parking lot is always jammed, best to shop at night or early in the AM. Especially annoying when they bus the kids from Bentley and Brandies on Saturdays in September. read more

I'm definitely a frequent patron of this Target. It has all of the things I need and it is organized just like every other target so it it easy to find things. The people who work there keep the store very clean and the merchandise is rarely strewn about. This target has a pretty strong food section and I often go there when I'm too lazy or time strapped to go real grocery shopping. It's located conveniently on Arsenal St. in the Arsenal Mall. My only complaint is that there is not enough parking. It's always tough to find a spot when I'm there. It shares a Peking lot with the rest of the mall and also a Friendly's, so there is parking competition for sure. read more

I've never had a bad experience here. When it comes to these types of stores, I know what I want, I go in, buy it, and leave. I don't really browse much. Well, I lied. I look at the "clearance" section in the back everytime I go there, but that's it. The store have what I need most of the time, even groceries! This is a great store. Only complaint I HAD was that there's no phone reception. They remedied this with free wi-fi! Now I can make wi-fi calls and text. Not to mention online price comparisions. read more

I needed to buy a little anti-mosquito device. Google showed that Target in Watertown has 3 of those in stock. I went there on Monday after work having printed out the page with the item description from Target website. Upon arrival I showed that printout to 5 different employees of Target. None of them was able to recognize or locate this item. I was sent to seasonal, then to electronics, then to the location shown on the web page which was invalid and then to some different place. Only one person out of five actually tried to walk with me to a possible location - with no result anyway. I went to Customer Service and asked to speak to a manager. After 10 min wait a nice lady with name tag "Jackie" approached me and introduced herself as a manager on duty. She said that the inventory may be incorrect, that they probably don't have it in stock anyway - all that without trying to actually locate the item. Then she offered to get the item from the other Target store. She called Westwood store, they said that they have 2 of them available, but when we asked to physically make sure they are there, the answer was that they can't find it. So I wasted about an hour of my time. The manager did not offer me anything helpful - like have this item shipped to me free of charge. She just helpfully mentioned that if I had a Target credit card they would have shipped it to me for free. Next day I went to Lowe's in Dedham. Again, their website showed a few of these items in stock. But what a contrast! The first person I talked to still did not know where this item is located, but after a quick call to another employee she was able to walk me to the item I was looking for and 3 minutes later I was out of the door with the desired thing in my hand. It was 50 cents cheaper, too. So here is the bottom line: don't shop at Target if you can avoid it! read more

I liked this Target when it first opened up. I hated it when they had the renovations and added in the huge food section. Liking it now since I've become accustomed to it and noticed that many of the other Targets in the area are beginning to mold into this shape! As with any Target, the selection of goods is large and the prices are low enough that you can sacrifice a little quality. For example - need a grill for the summer? Target will have a number of grills for you to choose from. They may not be the exact one that you are looking for but the selection and price just may have you bringing one home. read more

Long time Target shopper at this location, but I have to say it's looking a bit shabby. The main entrance is pretty bad. Carpeting is worn and smells so bad, it's noticeable throughout the store. Couldn't wait to leave! Time to replace the carpeting Target! Have been to two other stores, and they are much cleaner. Concerning selections..I'd love to buy the brand of cat litter my cats use...guess what? It's rarely in stock. Too limited a selection. Just a lot of one brand (same for cereals.) And prices overall on some groceries are higher than the grocery stores. Will be spending less here. read more

My boyfriend and I went to this target to pick up a few groceries and he needed cd labels. We were in the store for at least half an hour and not one employee asked if we needed any help. Even while we were wandering around (and I have a cast on my foot) and didn't end up finding his labels. At check out my bf asked if he could use his employee discount but he had forgotten his card and the cashier was extremely rude and looked at us like we were lying. This unfortunately is the closest target to my house and I concur the past sentiments that due to no Walmart there are way too many people here and awful employees. I called and 4 Times was put thru to customer service to only ring back to the operator. Was disconnected. Called back and 2 more times put thru to customer service. By this time I was mad because I literally had a 20 second question and I spent 10 min trying to get in touch with someone. Great customer service at guest services the one time I had to use them. The huge downside is the lines. They could easily open up more lines to increase traffic speed, but it has typically been a few lines open and they have long waits. With that said, I have yet to meet an employee there that is not at least providing good customer service. Some chains, you walk up and know they hate their job. The employees that this place don't seem too bad. I do think their security scooter is kind of a job...and a hazard. I have worked retail before where our security, if need be, could easily and more safely get somewhere on foot versus using that huge stand up scooter. One wrong turn and someone gets hit! read more

Originally from Minnesota, I love Target...but this location is in desperate need of some new leadership and a good shape-up from corporate. Maybe I was spoiled in Minnesota, where I often saw corporate teams walking through the stores. Items are misplaced all over this store, stocking issues abound (e.g., the yogurt shelf has been almost entirely empty in my last two visits), and the shelf prices don't always match what I'm actually charged. It's a complete mess. I live in the area so swing by when I need to grab something in a pinch, or when there's a good Cartwheel deal on something I need, but I've otherwise started making Target purchases online (and full price online is often cheaper than full price in this location). With my Red Card, deliveries show up at my door in 2 days with free shipping, and I don't have to go through the hassle of hunting down what I need in this disaster zone. I would gladly shop in-person more if it wasn't such a frustrating experience at this location! read more
