Last month had a really good experience here, primarily due to the people who helped me at the register. I bought several items, and one pair of boots were scuffed and a bit shop worn. The manager (Tanisha, Denisha? --I can't recall her name) was so helpful and really made my day. She marked the boots down for me. I visit many Marshalls stores and although the Newton store is a bit out of my way, I make an effort to go occasionally. It is one of the better Marshalls stores-- they have an exceptionally large shoe selection. And a great staff to boot! read more

When this Marshalls was in its other location I like it better.! Felt it had a better selection and a variety of of items in all departments. Now it reminds me a a store that gets the left overs from the other stores. I loved going there for my family items. Now I don't go at all! It's a shame! Because they have good parking and other stores that surround this one that are a big competition! read more

This is a solid Marshall's, it has everything you would expect from a Marshall's. It is located next to a TJ MAXX, Sierra, and Homegoods (which are all owned by the same parent company TJX). After going to TJMAXX down the street and Marshall's it seems they have a similar selection and I noticed many of the same items showing up at both stores. The selection is good for the men's clothes but did not find any amazing steals like name brand with huge discounts in my size. I left with a pair of $15 running shorts which I liked. I think they have lifted the mask mandate in the store as I saw 50% of people with masks and 50% of people without them. read more

Marshalls - Department Stores Near Me - Newton, Massachusetts

Marshalls just opened in the former TJ Maxx building across from its former location at 275 Needham Street. While nostalgia will always exist, the new store is better than the older! With a considerably larger building, selection is larger and each department is assigned more space. Checkout is not as cramped before either. It's honestly an exact replica of the former TJ Maxx (same company) that used to reside in this location. I was so upset to see that store leave this location to relocate to a much smaller and more "average" location (the TJ Maxx that used to be here used to be the best one around since it was so spacious and had so much selection). Now, I can confidently say in comparison to other Marshalls locations (like the extremely run down one in Watertown!), this the flagship location. Only comment in the negatives (minus one star) is that some of the staff have an extreme attitude. Specifically, Trish was extremely rude and clearly had an attitude. Life is too short, relax with the eye rolls and rude comments. Jenn and Kristina, on the other hand, were extremely friendly and helpful. I immensely appreciated their help. While I hate to do it, since the quality of the store is so great, I'm also taking off an additional star since the checkout line was way too long. They don't have enough registers (only ten), and also don't have enough cashiers. Recently, on a Saturday night, there was a line of over thirty people. This is extremely frusturating, considering how many other Marshalls and TJ Maxx locations consistently don't have lines (such as Marshalls in Medfield). Overall, I would highly suggest coming here and looking around this new gorgeous store for treasures. One thing that never fails about any of the stores in the TJX Companies is that you can always find hidden treasures! 3 stars. Hopefully I can upgrade to five, which I originally wanted to rate it once they can straighten out the checkout line situation and staff attitudes. read more

Nice selection, clean store, extremely friendly and helpful staff. One very nice lady even wiped down the shopping cart for me and my kids. Thanks again, nice lady! They had stuff cool enough for my son and daughter and cheap enough for me. What more can you ask for in the suburbs? Not a ton of lorg women's sizes, but you don't get everything at Marshall's. A very well run store. Every worker seemed to be happy and competent. That's hard to find today.

The manager, Juliet L. Is an absolute angel. I had a hugeeee return and nothing had tags on it anymore and she looked up every single item and even went back to search for a few items on the sales floor. Very popular place. Since managers' desks don't exist as much anymore, they have a strange place for lost and found I eventually realized, after waiting in line for one of the 2 out of 6 lit cash registers to speak with someone for 10 minutes. I was courteously directed to the manager area to see lost and found. Maybe I should have then played the voicemail that said my item has been found so the manager might have paid attention to me instead of the store items in front of her or where the other cashiers were. Felt very ignored, especially with how quickly she turned back to her other duties without as much as a 'sorry' after a quick look. At least the non-managers acknowledged my presence. read more
