This place is amazing! I HATE shopping and mostly stick to online business because it's so hard to find any decent service. This shop is totally old school, the friendliest, most knowledgable staff. It was honestly a pleasure to shop for a rented tuxedo for my husband, the last thing we wanted to do, but we have a black tie event so there we were. We were in and out in record time, including socks and bow tie! Cannot recommend them highly enough. They also sell tuxedos and have some really good lines of men's clothing. I will never wear a tux. Not for my wedding, not for anyone. But then there was this black tie only charity event yesterday, and so I had to go rent one. I was not happy. I called around and Simon & Sons picked up. Paul, the owner, laid it out for me: pricing, timing, no frills. I came in and got measured quickly, and with a quick alteration I was on my way. Clean, fast, very courteous and professional. Paul was invested in me looking good and wasn't trying to hurry me through the process and rush me through the door. The selection was broad with various designs, but with the short notice I only had the choice of the standard tux, which looked great. I walked in annoyed, and walked out a happy customer. Please AVOID AT ALL COSTS, I beg of you!!! For our wedding, we used Simon & Sons for the tuxedo rental. When my husband and his father and father-in-law went in, the people were very rude. Especially the woman there who is a cold fish. The tuxedos looked worn and shabby and not up to date. They had a difficult time taking measurements from my husband's brother, and they insulted him telling him his measurements didn't make sense and commenting on his body shape/size which I found off-putting. When we went to pick up the tuxedo, the woman was quite rude to us and wouldn't let him try on the shirt or vest. We got home and tried on the vest, and good thing we did because it was like a belly shirt on my tall husband, barely reaching below his pecs. We ended up having to re-arrange our entire rehearsal dinner the day before the wedding because we had to make an extra trip to Needham to get another size. Unacceptable! When we returned the items, we were even nervous to enter the store because they were so mean and rude and awful. We gave them back the tuxedos, and that mean woman yelled at us because we didn't want to sit there and watch her slowly account for everything that we had just accounted for with a sour look upon her face. This place should close down. Shame on them for their awful customer service. I implore you to go elsewhere and not go to Simon and Sons. They are beyond horrible. 11/17 read more

Summary: our tuxes were OK in the end, but getting there was a terrible experience. I would not rent tuxes from Simon & Sons again. Here are 3 stories that illustrate how bad my customer experience was. 1. Calling in measurements was a nightmare. I was asked to collect 6 measurements from each of my groomsmen. When I called in with each groomsman's measurements, the interactions with staff were incredibly rude. Here's an example: Me: "my groomsman's pant inseam is X" Them: "no" Me: "what do you mean?" Them: "that doesn't make any sense" Me: "ok..." Them: "where did they get measured?" Me: "I'm not sure. You didn't ask me to get that information." Them: "what's that person's height and weight?" Me: "I don't really know exactly. You didn't ask me to get that information either." Repeat the above interaction for 3 groomsmen. I eventually had my groomsmen call in to speak with Simon & Sons directly. 2. They led me to believe that 2 tuxes would fit the same, then charged me $25 2 days before my wedding to make the second tux's fit match the first one. I went into Simon & Sons a few months ago to start the process and have my measurements taken. We decided on a blue tux. About a week later, we changed our minds and went to the store to switch to a black tux. The salesperson informed us that we wouldn't need to try it on because they fit the same. 2 days before my wedding, I went to pick up my black tux. The pants were about 0.5 inches wider than the pants that I tried on. Simon & Sons fought hard that I should accept this new pants style ("that's how they make tux pants"), blamed me for causing confusion when I switched my tux (many months before my wedding), and refused to tailor the width of the rental pants. After 30 minutes of arguing, they finally accepted my proposal that they would tailor a pair of their in-house pants (not the rental pants)... under the condition that I pay them $25 for tailoring. I gave in and paid the $25 so that I could get the right pants. Should the customer pay more money for the rental shop's mistake? 3. They don't believe in their own product. When I asked one of the salespeople whether the wrinkles would come out of the shawl collar, I was met with: "It's a rental, what do you expect?" A couple of my groomsmen received similar responses when they asked about issues with their rentals. If Simon & Sons openly admit that rentals are poor quality, maybe they should advertise that upfront. Needless to say, this was a bad experience. I worked with a bunch of different companies for the wedding (caterer, photographer, etc.) but the tux rental was, by far, the worst experience. read more

I had not wore my suits in years, some actualy decades, and was looking for a shop that still offers service. Called S+S and spoke with Dino about what I was looking for, my size, and my price point. He said something to me that I will NEVER forget. "It's really not about how much the suit cost but how it's going to look and fit on you." This is a professional that is passionate about his career. Went there the next day with the intentions of purschasing a suit and a shirt. Once we found the suit that fit I decided to get another one in a different color and another shirt. He also had some fresh looking ties that I got to see. Dino mentioned that with a different color/style shirts, all the articles could be mixed and matched. I'm glad I had the opportunity to visit this great store because now I have upgraded my wardrobe for the future. Will be sure to go back for my next enjoyable experience. The owner Paul came over to introduce himself when I getting measured. Also said "Thank you" as I was leaving. My son got a Tux at Mens Wearhouse for prom. They took measurements an d he was told to pick it up a week later. Turns out not only did the Tux fit poorly - they told him they couldn't alter it because it was a rental AND the sales guy was rude. If a parent had been with him at the time, I'm sure that conversation would have gone differently. We returned it (a basketball would have fit under his jacket). The problem was - Prom was two days away. In the midnight hour - we called Simon & Sons. They took care of everything - including the alterations (to the rented Tux...Men's Warehouse are you listening?) and took amazing care of him and the Tux is beautiful. Went in this past Saturday after going to Big Box Tuxedo rental store where we were treated rudely and basically told if want to look good you need a custom tuxedo because they would not guarantee that you would like other options. Also had nothing to try on. At Simon we were treated rationally, with respect, and given logical options and could try on equivalent tuxedos that were available for any size.
