I never write negative reviews, but a wedding dress is one of the most important purchases you will ever make, and L'Elite made my wedding week incredibly stressful. For a shop that positions itself as Boston's premier bridal boutique, I was shocked by their lack of professionalism and poor craftsmanship. In September 2025, I found my dress here. The saleswoman suggested a Monique Lhuillier lace topper to go over it. To help fit my budget, they offered to custom-make the topper using 3 yards of ordered lace, promising they could replicate the sample exactly. Fast forward nearly a year later: the topper looked nothing like the sample, and it still wasn't finished just weeks before my wedding. They scheduled my final fitting for the Monday of my wedding week (for a Saturday wedding, knowing I was leaving town on Thursday). When I arrived, the topper was lopsided, sloppy around the neckline, and the seams looked completely amateur. I was in tears. Instead of offering solutions, the entire team insisted it looked "perfect," told me "no one will notice anyway," and rushed me out because they were closing. Furthermore, the dress itself was far too big. Instead of taking it in, their solution was to tell me to just wear a heavily padded bra. When I picked up the dress on Tuesday, it had makeup stains on it. The staff claimed they didn't see anything, and the manager became highly argumentative. I felt completely unseen, unheard, and dismissed during the most important week of my life. Out of desperation, I called Rose at Yelena Couture. She got me in first thing Wednesday morning. She immediately saw the issues, didn't gaslight me, and went straight to work. Rose completely fixed the topper, removed the stains, and took the dress in by two full inches because it was literally falling off me--something L'Elite completely missed. It cost me an unexpected $500 right before my wedding, but Rose saved my day. (I have attached photos showing the topper before and after Rose fixed it. The photo on my wedding day is with it fixed, and the photos of it up close shows how lopsided the two sides near the shoulders look.) Two weeks after the wedding, I called L'Elite to request a partial refund of $500 to cover the cost of the emergency repairs. The manager refused and blamed me, claiming it was my fault the dress was too big because I "hadn't told her"--even though catching fit issues is literally the purpose of a professional fitting. After spending close to $10,000 with this shop, I expected accountability. I highly advise future brides to avoid L'Elite, especially for custom work. If you do choose them, do not let them schedule your final fitting during your wedding week. read more

I was a first-timer, and they did a poor job of explaining the different types of dresses and name-dropped plenty of designers in a jargoney fashion that was difficult to keep up with. The very first dress I attempted to try on (ever) didn't fit, to which the staff member said "you're TOO BIG to fit into that dress." Quite the way to start my wedding dress search, which I'd been so looking forward to. It was also super warm in the showroom & while trying on heavy dresses, and staff kept commenting on how sweaty I was. Lastly, we were being helped by two staff members who randomly kept leaving/switching off without warning & did not offer to help me get into the dresses so my friends ended up helping out (angels). Both staff members didn't seem to get along either which was uncomfortable for us on multiple occasions. Overall a horrible and traumatic experience and I left in tears. read more

My daughter was married in early August. Every aspect of our year long interaction with the L'elite team was exceptional. Our sales consultant, Lauren, was incredibly knowledgeable and helpful during the selection process which took several visits. The Oscar de la Renta dress which my daughter chose for her wedding day was beyond exquisite. Additionally, my daughter decided to wear my wedding dress from thirty-five years ago to her rehearsal dinner. Lena and Faustina, from the L'elite alterations team, completely reworked the dress into a piece of art. On the wedding day, Faustina traveled to our home for final adjustments and to be on hand to steam the dress, bustle it and help with any dress emergencies. (Thankfully there were no emergencies.) Dress never should have been ordered incorrectly. If the associate did not order the dress correctly, that is not my fault. No we are sorry, no compensation offered. Received just an oops not enough time to remake the dress. Why did the other dress the associate had me try on for a reference , by same designer in a similar cut, fit me almost like a glove? why was i told no charge for the additional flowers down back and then was charged. Again after i got angry charges were dropped. Yes, i was traveling.... I came a month, not two weeks, before the wedding. I had to fight for everything. My daughter is getting married at the end of August and we found the most beautiful Ines de Santo designer sample wedding gown for a fraction of the price at Lelite Bridal on Newbury Street! We are a discerning group as my mother owned a couture bridal shop in New Canaan Ct for 25 yrs and I owned a beautiful bridal shop in Rhode Island for 12 years which I sold a few years back! After searching at 10 stores in NYC and RI and Boston we stumbled upon this lovely shop with the most amazing Staff and we got a 6000 dress for just 2000! All alone on lace the real luncheon lace and lining in silk organza absolutely stunning on my daughter! It was Christmas Eve and we didn't pay for the appointment and they didn't rush us out we spent 3 hours! They took pictures for us and were so nice we couldn't We have been to two fittings and the seamstress is flawless the best I've ever seen and so nice! My daughter felt like a princess! Ali is talented and intuitive, and understood my style quickly. She also brings her experience in tailoring and design to the table, offering insights on fit, alterations, and styling points to make a dress sing.
