So happy I found this bridal shop! I first visited after a long weekend of dress shopping in Boston, and had scheduled Ceremony as my last stop because I was really excited about the selection on their website and wanted to save the best for last. I definitely had the best experience of the weekend here. Before visiting, you use their online portal to select your favorite dresses from their collection. When I arrived, you could tell that the stylist had spent some time reviewing my choices and really put some thought into how to structure the appointment. I tried on all of my favorites, and also quite a few of her recommendations in similar styles. I loved so many of the dresses I tried on, I'd say their collection is trendier than a lot of other places I visited, but still has some classic styles mixed in. While my other appointments were pretty hit or miss, basically everything I tried on here was high quality and so beautiful. The store itself is really pretty too, it feels super high-end and relaxing at the same time. There's a private room with a changing area for the bride and seating for guests, and it seems like they only do one shopping appointment and one dress pick-up appointment at a time, so it's really private. The prices were fair, ordering and dress pick-up process was seamless, and the staff was so helpful along the way. They don't offer alterations in house, but have two preferred tailoring partners they can refer you too. I picked my dress about 10 months before my wedding, and had to pay a small rush fee to get the dress in time, so make sure you plan way ahead. Atrocious! As the mom of the bride, I wanted to leave after Kaitlyns first few sentences. Selection was ok, not spectacular. (Although we likely missed many) My daughter barely got 44 minutes & was rushed abruptly through all 44 minutes. The customer service was a zero. If the dress was free, I would have politely handed it back. I guess the assumption was that she couldn't afford to shop there, the budget wasn't up to par. My suggestion is, lose the attitude. My daughters monthly salary likely could pay the employees annual one. I'm sure it's a stressful and demanding job, especially when you're short handed or working alone, however; don't make it so obvious. I suggest taking some time off. Today should have been an exciting day for us, not a miserable one. Surprisingly disappointed. Of note, offering a glass of sparkling water would have been lovely, offering a cup of tap water would have sufficed. read more

I had a wonderful experience trying on dresses at Ceremony - I went back in Summer 2022 before they moved to their new location. I'm based in NYC and headed to Ceremony since no salons in my immediate area carried Anais Anette. They also carried a lot of the other designers I was looking at including Newhite and Aleena Lena. There was only one other appointment that started halfway through mine so it was a very personalized appointment. My bridal stylist was Natasha and she did a great job pulling all the dresses I had selected in advance as well as pulling some out of the box options at the end. She was extremely kind to me and my maid of honor and was very patient with helping me explain what I liked or did not like on a dress. I tried on many more dresses than I expected and tried on my final contenders with/without veils at the end. Natasha made me feel very comfortable and didn't try to force any immediate decisions out of me. Once I tried on my other top option back at Lovely Bride in NYC for peace of mind, I decided on the Anais Anette one from Ceremony. I then went back with my Mom to get measurements taken and have the dress mailed to me. They even gave me a seamstress recommendation for NYC. I highly recommend Ceremony! read more

I cannot recommend Ceremony enough. Alix and her team were so communicative and helpful over email, and so calm, friendly, and knowledgeable in person. At one point, I sent them a style of dress that I had seen but was unable to find, and they shared a list of 4 dress suggestions that they had in their store. It saved me so much time! My friend and I came in the first time to try on dresses, and the store was quiet and serene. Alix gave us both space and quality input and suggestions - both were so appreciated! The second time I went in, the Ceremony team worked around my work schedule to fit me in, and had to stay past their open hours to finish the appointment with me. her approach was so collected and kind, and she made me feel so confident during a second try-on. I had the absolute best experience with Alix and Ceremony Boston. I got my dress, veil, and earrings here and let me tell you you will not find this caliber of design at 95% of stores. Second story Beacon Hill brownstone with ceiling-high windows? It's giving fairytale... After going to four different shops in two cities I instantly knew that this was my place. In other stores I tried on 8-10 dresses and didn't have a single favorite. In Ceremony I wanted ALL OF THEM! Alix has a lot of style and class and was so sweet during each visit. Even though Ceremony is busy they don't let it show and you get the entire store to yourself and one-on-one style support. Cherry on top of it all is their sample sale rack (where I found my Sarah Seven dress!) which has gorgeous options instead of awkward dresses that nobody wants like at other stores. 10/10 and have been recommending to every bride-to-be that I come across! read more

You select dresses you want to try on in advance from their online platform that only shows you one styled photo of each dress, and you aren't given a chance to look through any dresses in person. My consultant kept leaving the room to chat with her coworkers, so we had to wait for her to come back and repeat our feedback about each dress. My budget was on the lower end for this shop and she seemed frustrated by this. The dresses I tried on were pretty but I wasn't blown away given the price point. read more

The team has curated a stunning collection of dresses that range from contemporary to extravagant and everything in between. Alix was incredibly thoughtful throughout my appointment, listened carefully to what I wanted, and helped me think through how I wanted to show up on my wedding day. Her approach was structured and transparent and I truly felt like I had explored everything in the collection by the time I left (unlike appointments at other stores when I often felt like the consultant was pulling random dresses for me). On my continued hunt for a wedding dress, I was able to schedule an appointment, easily at Ceremony in Boston in Beacon Hill. I was back-and-forth a few times with one of the employees, Molly. She was trying to get my credit card so that if anything happened and I had to cancel with less than a 24 hour notice, I would be charged $50. Otherwise, there is no charge for the appointment, itself. You get 60 minutes there and I was helped by Barbara. My maid of honor/sister accompanied me. We arrived perfectly on time, it was very difficult to find a place because it is just with all the other brownstones with no sign outside. Just pay attention to the street number. There's not a lot of parking available around this area so I would recommend taking an Uber or a Lyft. When we arrived, we had coffees in our hands and the Barbara politely let us know that they don't allow beverages there but she would put them in back for us and take them back out when we left. She had a quick conversation with us and asked me about the styles I preferred, the colors and the themes I was looking for. I let her know I was interested in a long sleeve/ backless gown, lace optional. My bridesmaid's colors are periwinkle/dusty blue, and the themes are romantic, ethereal, ocean, and tranquil. This helped her to get a better vision of the big day and helped me find the right dress. I let Barbara know that although I did have something pretty specific in mind in regards to the dress, I was open minded in stepping outside of that vision and trying on other dresses. You never know, you can always be surprised. She said we would have time for about six dresses. I ended up trying on seven. I added one on at the end that I saw last minute. Each dress was exquisite. Most of them were a little bit big for me, that seems to be the theme at every place I go so a lot of them had to be clipped in, however these sizes were smaller than I was used to, so it was easier to use my imagination on how they would fit. The place, itself is it gorgeous. Everything is pretty, white, clean and simple. They have large windows overlooking Beacon Street and it is phenomenal for people watching and taking in the city. They have a gorgeous stand that the bride stands on to look at the dress, but they will also give you a hand held mirror so that you can see the back of the gown. No shoes necessary. They also have a wide array of veils, belts, and accessories, and head pieces for purchase. After trying on all seven of my dresses, I loved each one of them. Barbara priced them out for me and let me know what each one of them was called and what they cost. She told me her favorites, my sister told me her favorites, and I told them mine. We are pretty much on target all the way around, through and through. Although I am not positive I'm going to purchase my dress through Ceremony, I truly appreciated Barbara's help and input and we had such a lovely day with her. I was surprised that they were open on a Sunday, it was very helpful as my schedule was so busy around the holiday season and in preparation for our wedding. I definitely recommend trying out Ceremony as they have beautiful designers that offer Bohemian options, clean/traditional options, and cutting edge/trendy options. What more could you want? Barbara heated our coffees up for us and wished us a healthy holiday upon our departure. Shout out to Barbara for making this day so incredible. read more

The sales consultant was nice, and they did a good job of picking my dresses from my wishlist ahead of time, but there's a few reasons I wouldn't recommend it. I went to 10 different bridal salons and this was my least favorite: - none of the samples were even close to fitting me. I had to hold a lot up to me to see what it would look like, or parade out in half-spanx half-dress to kinda guess what it looked like. I filled out a form ahead of time, so it would have been nice for them to tell me "hey listen, we don't have anything your size, sorry". They need way more broad sample sizes! And the poor girl who was helping me was midsize as well and she kept apologizing, saying nothing fit her either. - no in house alterations, which isn't their fault, but one-stop shop is important to me because a lot of bridal salons will tell you "oh yeah you can get that altered, add this, remove that," etc and then you get to the seamstress and they tell you absolutely not. So I wanted in-house since I knew I needed alterations and wanted to be able to hold them accountable. - rushed me through my appointment, checking the time every 5 minutes and reminding me I only had an hour. Which is understood, but I wasn't offered a followup appointment. - I had a dress I was interested in, but because the sample was so small, I couldn't really tell if I liked it. They offered to get me a bigger sample size from the designer ... if I paid $200. I declined. It would do them better to get bigger sizes anyway. - I was discouraged from picking any dresses off the rack that I hadn't picked out ahead of time, due to the short time of the appointment. When I wanted to try on a dress above the budget I'd put on my form, they said I had to wait for my mom to get there and approve to try it on. 100% would recommend Ceremony to any bride-to-be! It was the first place I went, and I ended up with the second dress I tried on. I shopped around a bit afterwards to make sure I wasn't missing out on anything, which was a waste of time. This is the only place you need to go. What set Ceremony apart in my experience: - Sample dresses are pristine so you can actually imagine how you feel in the final product (other places had stains, brown hems...yuck) - Staff are so sweet and give you space & time to browse and try on dresses, help you take pictures, etc. - Limited collection of beautiful gowns so you're not overwhelmed sorting through things that aren't your style - The space is gorgeous with lots of natural light, so again, you can really imaging how you'll feel on your wedding day read more

I had the most amazing experience with Ceremony. The store is absolutely beautiful and clean, and they take really good care of their dresses. Lydia helped us out and did a fantastic job to create a customized experience. It was very clear that she is great at her job and made suggestions for styles that I initially didn't think I would like but ended up loving. The owner also popped in briefly to say hello and was very kind and welcoming. I ended up buying my dress from a different boutique only because they had the exact style that I had been looking for, but by far had the best experience at Ceremony of the 5 Boston bridal shops that I visited. I went to Ceremony today in hopes of finding the perfect dress for my special day. Had heard great reviews and loved the collection on Instagram. From start to finish, this experience was horrible. I arrived approximately 9 minutes early to be sure we found parking and were in the correct location and was greeted with an extremely rude comment about being early. After being rudely greeted and shooed into our dressing room, Katelyn did not offer anyone in the group water or champagne (although the other group next to us had both). Regardless of being understaffed and Katelyn being the only bridal attendant that day, the effort of trying to personalize my experience was nonexistent. As the bride, I was excited to find the perfect dress for me, yet felt very rushed and not cared for whatsoever. If I did not immediately LOVE the dress, Katelyn rushed it off me and said "let's not waste time". I'm not sure who's time we were wasting as it's MY appointment and I'm the one purchasing the dress. Furthermore, she was rude and passive-aggressive the entire shopping appointment. I felt uncomfortable and out-right unwanted the entire appointment. When searching the Showroom - Katelyn was judgmental on each higher priced gown I chose - although my Mother and I assured her that budget was not a driving factor if I found the perfect dress. Approximately 40 minutes into the appointment, I asked to try on one last dress when Katelyn checked her watch and told me it HAD go be really quick as she had another appointment (although my hour appointment. was not up). This is a long overdue review!! I found Ceremony randomly while surfing Instagram and I fell in love with a Leanne Marshall dress. Lucky for me, Ceremony was literally less than a 10 minute walk from my apartment in Beacon Hill. I made an appointment with Alix for that weekend. Ceremony is just magical. Honestly, I wish I could move in there and make it my apartment!! White washed brick walls, wood floors, it's just beautiful. Alix curates an amazing collection of dresses. Most are in the romantic, rustic sort of style but there is something for everyone in all price ranges. She has frequent "trunk shows" of both dress designers and accessories, usually offering a slight discount at the time. She was so accommodating and really just a lovely person. Although I (hopefully!) will never need another wedding dress, I would come back here in a heartbeat. read more

Alix at Ceremony is amazing at what she does and I envy that she is surrounded by such beautiful colors and materials all day in her shop. Ceremony is truly special and something out of a magazine. Her shop is by appointment by she is very quick to respond on email and will set you up right away. Because I live in Maine, I made one other appointment at another Boston area bridal shop and just so you know in advance - there is no need for that if you're headed to Ceremony. For brides who are fans of Jenny Packham, Claire Pettibone, and others this is the place for you. However if you're not a 100% "boho" bride Alix definitely has choices for everyone. I could stare at those beautiful beige, sparkly racks of dresses all day long! When arriving at Ceremony the entrance is on the street behind Charles St. I believe she mentions this when confirming your appointment but just in case you wait until the day of to Google the shop's location - now you know. Use the buzzer right before your appointment and you'll be allowed to enter the back staircase that takes you up to the loft boutique. It all went by so fast because it's so lovely but Alix has water and drinks if you'd like - she's a very gracious host. Her space has ceiling to floor windows that look out onto Beacon Hill. The mirrors are also truly special and the whole shop's aesthetic is quite beautiful and well curated by Alix. I found my dress at Ceremony while attending an Alexandra Grecco trunk show - and Alexandra was there (lovely and amazing person and designer). Alix has a lot of trunk shows and I highly recommend them if you're looking for something special that not a lot of other brides have. Her shop has amazing choices to choose from aside from the trunk shows so either way, you're covered. For accessories she also carries my favorite Stone Fox Bride floral crowns and Emmy London heels. Really this shop is a dream come true and don't waste your time at other run of the mill bridal shops that go through bridal appointments at a disposable rate. Ceremony is the premiere New England bridal boutique and it is definitely worth the trip. read more

I absolutely loved my experience at ceremony. I made an appointment 3 months in advance, and received an email reminder a day before hand. My wedding is in June 2020, so I went in during February 2019 to get an early idea of what I would like and what would look best. The team at ceremony was fantastic and they made the experience so special. It's a GORGEOUS studio to try on dresses in, and they have great variety. I picked out 8-10 dresses and the team was very attentive helping me get in and out of the dresses and giving me belts, vails, and head pieces to compliment the different dresses. I had a few favorites and they wrote them all down for me at the end of the appointment with price points for my reference. Ceremony also has a lot of trunk shows and final rack sales, so if you're on a budget, they're able to offer some options as well. Highly recommend checking them out! The only downside is the appointments are only one hour, and they kindly push you out and rush you towards the end. I would have loved to relax more and stay for a few more hours, but they do allow you to make follow up appointments. read more

I really wanted to get a dress here. Since I moved to Beacon Hill, I could not wait until I got engaged just so I could step foot in this beautiful second floor boutique that you get a glimpse of coming down some of BH's streets. When I finally got engaged, I saw there was a sample sale coming up at Ceremony and decided to attend. I made an appointment, and poked around and tried some things on. The staff was very hands off, and barely made contact. When I asked if I could try anything on outside of the sample sale rack I got a swift no and was told I had to come back and make another appointment. I was thankful another bride to be was helpful enough in clipping my dress back to get a better idea of what it might look like since most were quite big. I didn't find anything, probably because of the size difference. I made an appointment to return so I could actually try on some things from the non sample sale rack a month or so later. Between the sale and my appointment my co-worker (another bride to be) asked if I could join her appointment at Ceremony since her bridesmaids were all on the east coast. I was thrilled to go!! It was a post-work day appointment mid week, and these dresses really spoke to her style. While we were there, the help was very minimal, and at one point the girl working that evening said "the shop is closing soon and I need to leave." Oh, boy did we feel special. So special, we both decided that the lack of customer service and rushed "get out" made us both certain we would not be purchasing a dress here. There's definitely a bit of attitude here, and it's totally unwarranted. You can get similar dresses at SO many more shops around where the people that work there are helpful, attentive and happy you're there to buy a dress. read more

I came to Ceremony five months before my wedding as my previous dress had been ruined by my seamstress (original dress purchased elsewhere). Alix took me in as a last minute appointment knowing that I was only home for two days and needed to find a replacement ASAP. From the second I walked in I had a feeling that I was going to find my dream dress at this location. Alix was beyond helpful, listened to my vision and walked me through her entire collection. We picked out several dresses to try on and went into the dressing room. The second dress I tried on was exactly what I was looking for :) Alix, I really can't thank you enough for everything you have done. I highly recommend this store and can't wait to go back! I unfortunately have hoped for a similar experience as the others have written about but it felt so so short of my expectations. My mother and I arrived early. We had to take our shoes off on the stairs. Not great for elderly people. Then the two women in the boutique asked some routine questions but seemed disinterested and unengaging. They let me try things on without recommendations or suggestions. Then I was reminded several times that I had only an hour. And then we are suppose to hurry. Then we got ushered to a corner and then sort of "excused" back into the streets where my poor mom struggled to put her winter boots on a small dark staircase. I first visited Ceremony last July. My wedding was in November 2015 and I actually never intended on buying a gown ( my mom and I were making it & in the process of picking out fabrics) but a trip to Boston brought me to Ceremony where I had the single most positive dress browsing experience. Prior to Ceremony, I had looked around in Lovely Bride in NYC & Elizabeth Johns in NJ and although both of these salons were beautiful with a large selection of gowns, it was not real. At Ceremony, I was not told " this is totally you " " this is THE dress" " you'll be back to buy that" , I am sorry but, the girls in those shops didn't know me, how could they after 15 minutes of sharing my inspo pictures from Pinterest? Its not realistic and in one hour its irritating to be the target of a sales pitch. I mean I get it , youre a sales person and this is your job, but this is my wedding , I don't want fake advice ! I want real advice and I also need for my voice to be heard. At Ceremony, I got just that. I was given the chance to pull every dress I wished off the rack to try on ( within the hour time frame) funny enough the last dress I pulled was the one I said " I would never wear this , but god isn't it gorgeous?!" ( side note I bought that dress) Beside having this really awesome , chill experience , in a beautiful section of Boston, in a beautifully laid out salon, the shop girl was amazing ( Molly), as real as you get, no fake compliments or advice just so she could make a sale. She played Beyoncé over the loud system and offered me champagne. It was awesome! Not to mention its a one on one experience, you don't feel like your in an assembly line in the midst of other brides and families. I mean YOURE the bride , don't you want everyone paying attention to you and not the girl on the podium next to you? Personally, I don't want to feel less important to my sales girl, which is exactly how I felt at the other two shops I visited ( unfortunately.) After I decided to buy my gorgeous Sarah Janks gown, and had it altered back home in NJ, both Molly, Alix, AND Sarah Janks herself were there to help when we hit a small road block in alterations. If you're thinking about buying your dress from Ceremony, KEEP SHOPPING!! I had had my eye on the Anais Anette dress since before we pushed our wedding due to COVID, so it was thrilling to finally purchase my dream dress at Ceremony during Summer 2021. The salesperson I worked with, Molly, recommended I purchase a split size dress, saying "you'll either pay now or in alterations later." She also assured me that it would be no issue that I was based in Los Angeles, where they could easily ship the dress. When the dress arrived in January, there was something seriously wrong. The dress was so tight that it was a challenge to walk normally, sit down and bend over to put my shoes on. Not only was it WAY tighter than it should have been, the dress that I had purchased because it was so comfortable became the complete opposite. There is no way I could wear this dress without worrying that it was going bust at the seams. From my first conversation with Alix, she was passive-aggressive and defensive. For 6 weeks, she refused to take any responsibility for the dress being an incorrect size saying that "it was impossible that my team or the dressmaker made a mistake." During each conversation, she made me feel like I was ludicrous to even suggest this. Despite the fact that I had not gained any weight, she insisted that the reason the dress did not fit was that I had gained two inches and gone up two sizes. I don't know who's error this was, but contrary to what Alix incessantly suggested, it was not mine. Alix was painful to work with - she refused to come up with a solution except that the dress needed to be let out (an $850 alternation) until I said that I would be traveling back to Boston to meet her in person to try and sort this out. She then recommended that I pay to have a new skirt rushed and have the dress rebuilt by the seamstress in Los Angeles. The seamstress flatly refused to do this since she couldn't ensure the integrity of the dress. Alix actually even had the audacity to email my mom that "Truthfully (and mother-to-mother), if her body has changed, I am not sure how much putting her back into the sample to show her a change will be beneficial to her personally either." She was infuriating to work with and frankly I felt fat shamed by her for weeks. I have been very grateful to have a positive body image and this experience made me more critical of my body than ever before. She is toxic and caused hours of unnecessary emotional distress for me, my parents, MOH and fiance who worked tirelessly to troubleshoot the issue. I will say the only good thing to come out of this experience was that she recommended a fantastic seamstress in LA who actually encouraged me to return the dress and find a new one off the rack. Icing on the cake was Alix refused to reimburse me for the $200 in shipping. The bridal gown business expectation is that you go for the whole experience to spend thousands of dollars for a custom dress that takes months to make. I cannot thank Maura enough for her help today. She had another young woman assisting - I am totally blanking on her name (embarrassing!) but she was a doll and had on the most killer lipstick - who was also fantastic. From the moment we stepped in the boutique, the experience was exceptional. I did not feel pressured at all, and that was really important to me. I wanted an advisor, not a pushy salesperson. Maura was perfect. I ended up buying my dress today on my first visit. I loved it the minute I slipped it on - even before seeing it in the mirror. I'm not a very "bridal" person, but my god did I feel beautiful in that store and in that dress. Thank you for making this such a fun and memorable experience! I will be back for the veil. read more

Alix and her entire team are amazing! I decided to head to Ceremony during my dress search because of the designers they carried. During my appointment, Alix was extremely helpful and knowledgeable about all of her designers and was very thoughtful with the dresses she pulled for me to try based on my feedback. I ended up falling in love with a dress from Ceremony, and the entire process was seamless. Fast forward to my dress arriving, it came in with plenty of time to bring to the tailor. When I brought my dress to the tailor, there was an incident where my dress got stained. While the tailor would not take ownership of the mishap, I got in contact with Ceremony, and Alix completely took over and saved the day. She sent the dress to be cleaned to her wedding dress cleaner, and when it came time for me to pay for the service, she covered it. Alix went above and beyond for me during a very stressful experience. I cannot say enough amazing things about Alix and her team as they helped me throughout this. Alix had no obligation to help during all of this, but she stepped in and saved the day, which really shows how much she cares about her brides. I would recommend anyone go to Ceremony, not only for the designers she carries (because they are all amazing) but for the customer service you will experience. read more

Awful. Terrible. Atrocious. Unpleasant. Nasty. Those are just a few words of many in the English language that only scratch the surface in describing our experience at Ceremony. My fiancée visited Ceremony in Boston, found a dress she liked, got measured and ordered the dress to be delivered to Los Angeles (where we live) all in one visit. One major thing crossed off the laundry list of wedding preparation, right? Well, we were completely wrong. A few months later, as promised, the dress shows up to our address. My fiancée tries on the dress and it doesn't fit. At all. The dress is so tight that she can't even properly walk in it. It seemed pretty obvious that the incorrect size was sent, so she calls Ceremony to get some help and is told that the correct size based on her measurements was sent and that the seamstress should be able to get everything adjusted, no problem. So a few days later, she takes the dress to the seamstress in LA recommended by Ceremony, who promptly tells her that there is no way that this dress is the right size- they either incorrectly measured her or they sent the wrong dress. This is where the true nightmare begins. At this point my fiancée calls again to get this resolved and the owner of Ceremony, Alix, gets involved. Normally, you would expect to receive an excellent level of customer service and problem solving from the owner of a company selling dresses worth thousands of dollars, but we received the complete opposite from Alix. Alix lacked any level of empathy, kindness and solutioning skills to get this issue remedied and instead took 0 responsibility for the issue. She claimed that there was no chance that anyone measured my fiancée incorrectly or that the wrong size was sent. Instead, she decided to solely put the blame on my fiancée, going so far as to make ludicrous statements, like saying that my fiancée had gained so much weight that she went up 2 sizes in a few short weeks (note, we even spoke to a couple of doctors about this, who said this was close to impossible in the time frame between ordering and receiving the dress, not to mention she weighed herself and actually hadn't gained any weight) and that Los Angeles brides are notorious for getting sizes that are too small (my fiancée is originally from Boston and purchased the size suggested by Ceremony). Not only were these "defenses" bizarre in nature, they also served to essentially weight shame and put down my fiancée, which was completely uncalled for. It's understandable that people make mistakes in measuring or ordering and we would have been more than happy to work with Alix to get this resolved had she taken responsibility for it, but instead she decided to dig in and refuse to acknowledge any fault. After a stressful couple of weeks of exchanging tense emails and phone calls, Alix finally agreed to take the dress back for the full cost of the dress (note, she refused to refund the over $200 in shipping we had to spend to get it back to her in good condition). Of course, this had now left my fiancée with no dress and on a very tight timeline to get any dress now purchased tailored and adjusted, but this was a better option than to keep trying to deal with Ceremony and Alix. We thought that pushing our wedding in the midst of a global pandemic would have been the most stressful thing about wedding planning, but dealing with Ceremony takes the award. The amount of stress, tears and time wasted due to the utter lack of empathy and customer service at Ceremony was one of the most frustrating retail experiences we will probably ever have in our lives and I would strongly recommend you run as far away from this place as you can. Go purchase from somewhere that cares about its customers because Ceremony certainly does not. read more

Had a wonderful experience at Ceremony Boston last weekend! Alix was wonderful, very accommodating and understanding even though we got stuck in traffic and were running late. She gave great advice when we asked, and lots of space while we needed it to discuss. She also had beautiful accessories that really helped pull the look together. Also the space is gorgeous, and all the natural light made every dress look beautiful. Her dresses were out of this world though. Gorgeous romantic and modern styles, and tons of things I had never seen before, even after clocking in some serious time on pinterest. I think we have a strong lead on the one- likely we will be back! read more

I had such a great experience with Alix and the whole Ceremony team. Even though it was a quick 1 hour appointment, Alix made sure to let me pick a few dresses, give some recommendations and provide helpful feedback, all while helping us not feel rushed (even though we ended up going about 10 minutes over). I found my dress here :) After a recommendation from a friend, I made my first wedding dress shopping appointment at Ceremony. My friend was right - it's a beautiful space, with dresses that are my style, and they make you feel special. Just my mom and I were there for the appointment and we had the shop to ourselves. Alix was so sweet and you can tell they are taking every safety precaution during COVID. I probably tried on ~7 dresses total and there was one that I tried on that I just fell in love with. However, this was my first appointment, so I felt like I should at least go through with my other appointments and try some other dresses. Long story short, after a couple of days, I couldn't get the Ceremony dress out my head! I called up, made a last minute appointment with Molly, who was so accommodating. This is a wonderful bridal boutique! First - the space is amazing - light, airy, very feminine. It feels romantic and special as soon as you walk in. Second, Alix is amazing. She has a great style sense and has chosen some truly beautiful and unique dresses. She is not pushy or aggressive - but she is nicely focused on you and whomever you bring with you. Finally, the dresses.....ahhh....the dresses. They were so beautiful and unique. Not - the run of the mill, nothing cheesy, all graceful, elegant, special dresses. Such a beautiful space and Alix is the sweetest person to work with! I was very nervous to try on wedding dresses (dreading it, really) and had put it off for months. Alix immediately made me feel comfortable and at ease -- I was so relieved! Her dresses are all stunning and special, like other reviewers have said. Each one is like a beautiful piece of art and you can feel and see the quality immediately. I didn't end up buying a dress that day, but I did order the most amazing handmade belt -- she also has incredible accessories! My daughter and I were so disapointed with our appointment at Ceremony. Maura, the sales assistant, greeted us by saying we were 10 minutes late and would not have much time to look at dresses. We arrived on Charles Street nearly 10 minutes before the appointment, but didn't realize that the shop is actually in a back alley way. Once we found the street, we couldn't find the door! Maura never cracked a smile, seemed annoyed by the process, and really did not talk to my daughter at all. My daughter was just taken aback that she was being treated with such disinterest. It was not a fun experience and needless to say she did not find a dress at Ceremony! Although the store is difficult to find, the space is lovely. Maybe it would have been a different experience if the owner had been there, but my daughter has already told all her recently engaged friends not to waste their time. read more

I purchased my wedding gown here just about a week and a half ago...I cannot say enough about Ceremony. From the moment I saw the door on the street I had a great feeling about the store. Alix (the owner) was there to greet us at the door, her vibes as we entered (she was barefoot and invited us to take off our shoes if we would like) made us feel welcomed and at home. The store itself it breath-taking, the white exposed brick and the way the store is set up is so aesthetically pleasing you'll want to find your gown there. Molly, the bridal stylist is absolutely AMAZING. My maid of honor and I showed her a photo of the type of gown I was looking for and she pretty much pulled my dress out instantly. She was warm, welcoming, and extremely professional. When I picked out my gown, she was so happy for me you would have thought we were old time friends- she cared about how you feel on your wedding day, and that seems like a rare thing to find. Once I found my dress, Molly put a beautiful headpiece on as well as a gorgeous veil and allowed me to stay in the dress for "as long as I would like." We were then welcomed to stay and sit, sip on champagne and celebrate while our purchase was going through. Additionally, we were the only people in the store until the last 15 minutes of my appointment. It really felt like we had the whole place to ourselves and all of Molly and Alixs' attention. I will be getting married in September of 2017 and I cannot wait to wear my gown from Ceremony Boston, I highly highly highly recommend it to any brides who are looking for the all around perfect experience.
