I just got married this March (2011). I already had my dress but since it was early spring and chilly, I was in desperate need of some form of a fancy bolero-type jacket. No store had something that would fit me right or match perfect. I knew I needed something custom made. Anna did a fantastic job making me a wonderful jacket that had 3-quarter length sleeves. I merely told her what I was thinking I needed and she came up with all different sketches - each one beautiful. I selected the one I wanted and she perfectly customized it to my body and dress. I feel that going to someone who customizes things for you is much better than off the rack -- because Anna spent hours detailing every little thing about me, my dress, and the jacket... and how to make it perfect for my day. She is a perfectionist, and I couldn't recommend someone better than her. She is simply phenomenal. She is so kind and makes u feel comfortable about who you are, how you look, and your body. Anna was great in helping me and my mother come up with a redesign of her 1969 wedding gown. It was no easy feat since my athletic (read "wide") shoulders were not fitting into the dress. We visited with Anna a few times to get things just right, each time it was a pleasure to work with her. She also was open to idea's my mother and I had for the dress, but in the end we went with all of her suggestions! Even after the dress was said and done and we were ecstatic about it, I called to have Anna draw up some sketches for me to frame and keep forever. I actually used them at my reception so everyone could see what the dress was compared to what it is today. She had no problem drawing the sketches for me to keep even though it is a very busy season. I wouldn't have trusted the vintage dress with just anyone, and I was willing to pay a top price to have it done beautifully. This is the place to go for those most special of outfits or occasions. Anna Neiman was wonderful to work with. Her elegance and grace is displayed through her work and all of our conversations and emails. I approached Anna 6 months before my wedding with a picture of a dress that I had seen and loved. It was very unique and something that absolutely fit my personality. Anna was AMAZING! I researched custom/couture wedding gowns in Boston and Anna was one of the first to pop-up. I was living in Bermuda at the time and then moved to DC. I made an appointment with Anna after seeing the Ingrid gown in her collection online, which was extremely close to what I was looking for. I wanted to figure out a way to incorporate some lace or embroidery if possible, though. Anna suggested a custom embroidery around the waistline, which sounded good to me, and the resulting gown was amazing. Perfect for what I wanted, and I looked great. Anna was professional and easy to work with; she even gave me the extra fabric from the dress and ordered some additional embroidery for me so that I could make custom gloves to match. The price is high, of course, but not at all out of the ordinary for a custom couture gown of that quality. Thanks, Anna! read more

I did not know that finding a dress for my daughter for her bat mitzva would turn into a full-time job. Finally after much searching, I am happy to have found a beautiful dress at Anna Nieman's Special-Occasion Clothing Boutique. I found a dress for myself as well. I moved to Texas and acclimated to the weather. However, I still have a home and family and friends in Wellesley and attend weddings and all sorts of events. Anna Neiman has helped me pick out gorgeous dresses, I always go there. Most recently I found a ballerina length sleeveless flowing gown which cinched in my waist, just by the design! I told Anna I was concerned about this and she found the perfect dress, next I explianed I was worried about being chilly. I was not a dress person, but I am a convert. The first item I bought at Anna Nieman's was a leather jacket at a sample sale, which I LOVE, and feel ready for anything in. Then, I needed a dress for a funeral, and another for a wedding. In each case, the knit dresses I purchased were so comfortable and versatile that I found myself wearing them again.
