Made out to be far more glamorous than what you are met with. The location is beautiful on the outside and evidently the main selling point. Inside, the consultants looked physically disheveled and unfinished. There is nothing polished about clients with an appointment being asked to exit the store because you are running behind, forgetting who you are meeting with, and putting the lack of preparation and professionalism in all aspects on full display. When other locations are offering you refreshments, accessories and an actual personalized experience, there is no comparison. Finally getting around to writing a review after visiting Flair in early fall 2024. This was the second shop I visited and I was shopping solo. At the first store, the consultant was extremely patient and kind, and empathetic to the fact that I was solo. I found a dress that I liked, but because it was only the first place I'd been, I was reluctant to pull the trigger without trying on a few other designers that only Flair had. When I arrived, I was surprised to find myself sitting outside the salon. The door was closed because another bride was inside (which was fine). But no one really greeted me or told me what was happening. Once that bride was done, the consultant (Katie) let me in. I didn't feel the same warmth from Katie that I did from the consultant at my first salon. The entire appt was structured around "how is Flair's dress vs. the one from the other store" - not in a friendly way. Each dress I tried it was as if Katie was angry with me if I couldn't immediately tell her if it had "beat" the other dress. I wished I hadn't mentioned having found a potential dress elsewhere because the consultant made me feel pressured and rushed to remove any dress that I was evaluating. The reality was that I wasn't sure about the dress from the other salon (my mom had expressed a concern with the style). So I was legitimately considering the dresses at Flair. I am an older bride in my 40s. But I felt like I was being lectured almost about how to make a decision: "Well you either like this one or you like the other one. If you don't like this one better, you should take it off." It all felt pretty condescending and left a bad taste in my mouth. I did end up purchasing that beautiful dress from the other salon and when I took it recently to my alterations person I saw tons of bags from Flair. Flair is a popular salon that carries many beautiful dresses. I just felt that the consultant was rough around the edges. I might not have known just how rough had I not been to another salon where I was treated 1000% better. It had nothing to do with the fact that I liked a dress at the other salon. When I left that first salon, I got no attitude - just a smile and I hope you'll return. Far less sales pressure and just good vibes. This is the way all brides should be treated no matter where they go. Ultimately you buy the dress and not the salon consultant. Had I found a dress at Flair that I loved, I might have gone the Flair route. But honestly, the shopping experience sucked at Flair. Why not just be nice? read more

I came to Flair to find bridal accessories, since I bought my dress in California but live in Boston. I made an accessories appointment and they helped me look at belts, hairpieces (mostly the kind that would wrap around a bun, or pin-style hairpieces that could complement a veil), and earrings. It isn't a huge collection, but I did find both a belt and earrings! They can also do veils at the accessories appointments, but I already had one. This is a nicer place and the prices do reflect that. For reference, the belt was on the order of a few hundred dollars. This was more than I personally expected, but apparently it is handmade by a local artist, which makes sense. It is gorgeous and seems worth the price, but that is something to be aware of for folks like me who had no idea what wedding accessories go for! I can't possibly put into words how amazing Flair is. Kaitie was my stylist, and she was beyond amazing!!! I was so nervous to try on dresses, and she immediately made me feel so so comfortable. She got to know me in such a short time, and knew EXACTLY what dress was going to make my heart melt. Everyone always said "when you know you know".... I visited Flair Boston in June of 2025 and came all the way from Portland, OR so I could try on dresses with my family who live on the east coast. Kaitie was my dress consultant and took all my considerations into account. She pulled dresses that remained in my budget and if they were slightly out of my budget she was transparent about that before I tried them on which I really appreciated. She was so kind to all of my family members. She was able to read how I was feeling or what I was looking for next just based on my reactions to certain dresses I was wearing. I never write reviews, but it has been 3 days and I am still thinking about how awful my experience was. I made my appointment with Flair over a month in advance, and they emailed me 2 days before asking me to change my time to make room for another appointment. I didn't mind much, but I still found it unprofessional to wait until almost the day of. I had Kaitie and she made me and my group feel incredibly unwelcomed. She rolled her eyes at my mother's comments and was dismissive of my friends' questions. At the end of the appointment we were asked to gather our things and leave very abruptly and rudely. When I said I was not ready to buy a dress yet (because I want to wait until I'm sure and because we were being rushed out) Kaitie looked at me in disdain and asked me how many dresses it will take for me to feel like I've tried on enough. The whole experience left my whole group feeling unimportant and like we were somehow a burden to Kaitie's day. It was a very disappointing and frankly sad experience for all of us. read more

My daughter and her Maid of Honors had an appointment 12-13-2025 with Kaitie. To say the least it was a terrible experience, the dresses had arm pit stains and appeared dirty. She was extremely rude, telling me not to pull out the dresses, which I couldn't understand considering the deplorable shape they were in. She asked my daughter about her fiancé , she explained they met at a high school boarding school, Kaitie told her we never hear that story no one marries their high school boyfriend. She also made negative comments about my daughter's body. Another associate barged in while my daughter was getting changed to remove dresses for the next appointment. The whole experience was terrible.This consultant should be fired, as she is hurting your business, we expected a classy experience considering it was on Newbury street. My daughter left in tears . I went into Flair because they were having a trunk show for a specific designer and dress I was interested in and it was only in town for the weekend as a preview. I also wanted to try on some dresses on my own before bringing in a group and being overwhelmed with others opinions. In the end I unexpectedly said Yes. But I in no way at all felt pressured to. I knew I could have gone home to think or even never gone back. But I knew when I put my dress on there was no other. Kaitie was my consultant and I cannot recommend her more! Especially for anyone shopping on their own. My family and most of my friends live on the other side of the country and couldn't be there. It's a big moment to go through on your own or even just virtually but Kaitie stepped up! Even with calling family last minute over FaceTime, when she could see I was overwhelmed she stepped in to help me refocus. She helped me take pictures and videos. And I never felt rushed. Updating my review now that I have my dress! Kaitie did a fantastic job and I had an amazing time dress shopping with her help. She was supportive, paid attention to my budget, and helped me find dresses that covered the range of styles I wanted plus let me branch out. I ended up finding my dress on my first appointment with her, a dress I had liked online but didn't think the store had in stock and which she pulled because she knew it was a good fit for my style. She also did a great job advising me on sizing-- I was between sizes and she put in extra time to contact the designer and figure out how small the dress ran and what split sizing would fit me best. I just got the final dress four months later and it fits me perfectly already-- I barely need any alterations! I had some specific fit needs and was really nervous that I wouldn't be able to find a dress I liked, and Kaitie made me feel so much more at ease and made the whole process much easier. My only negative note is that their online booking setup will let you book a time that isn't available, so you may need to play a bit of phone tag to set your appointment time. However, they always were responsive whenever I reached out, so it wasn't hard to get an appointment over the phone or by email instead. read more

Such a lovely store and shopping experience! I didn't end up ordering a dress from here, but I found so many favorites and would definitely recommend a visit to any of my friends. This place is on the second floor of a cute little building on Newbury street and beautifully decorated. They have a couple appointments at a time but they're in separate spaces, so it feels really private. All of that combined makes the experience feel really luxurious and personal, exactly what you want when you're making a big important purchase and trying to see yourself as a bride for the first time in your life. The consultant I worked with was lovely, she did a great job asking questions and pulling options based on what I wanted, and didn't show me anything above my budget which I really appreciated. She was also sooo talented at clamping each dress, so I got a really good feel for what they would look like even though the sizes were wrong. Their dress selection is really stunning, everything seemed well made and they had options in every fit and fabric I was interested in. Everything in the store is between $1k-5k, so things don't get way too out of hand price wise. This was my first appointment ever, and it really started my dress shopping experience on a positive note. Flair was uncommunicative when my wedding dress was delayed due to production issues, and I had many stressful months trying to deal with them. It is now many months after my wedding, and although my dress was beautiful and everything worked out okay in the end, I simply did not have a great experience with Flair. My dress took 13 months to arrive (6 months after the original estimated arrival date that Flair gave me). In those 6 months, no one at Flair bothered to email, call, or text me to even say that the dress was delayed. My understanding is the original associate I worked with at Flair left after selling me the dress, and no one at Flair picked up the pieces afterwards. About 1-2 months after the original date I was given (which was already 7 months after I placed the order), I called, was informed about the delay, and was given another estimated date in 2 more months. I was also told that someone would definitely keep me updated on the situation and follow up with me if anything changed. I did not hear anything after the second date passed, and had to call again, was given a new date now another 2 months later, and was again told that someone would keep in touch with me. After those months passed, I still had heard nothing and had to call yet again. I was then told that they would be getting a tracking number soon (I guess no one bothered to get in touch with me about that?), and I finally managed to set a date at that point to pick up my dress after that. I had to call Flair at every junction, after every missed deadline. It was extremely frustrating for such an expensive purchase, and for an already stressful time. I understand the delay was not Flair's fault, but even a singular phone call or email that I did not have to initiate would have been a nice gesture. read more

I found my dress at Flair in the fall and went to Flair as my last dress shop of the day. Previously I had gone to another shop downtown, and L'Elite across the street where I thought I had found my dress. I came to flair specifically to try on Jane Hill dresses and they had a good selection of them. Immediately my group was thrown off by our stylist bashing L'Elite and being very sarcastic and negative. We had been treated so well at L'Elite and offered a discount to help with the dress, so we were thrown off by Flair's negativity toward them. Regardless I tried on a few dresses and fell in love with one. I felt that the stylist was a little too aggressive in how they approached the situation and kept bringing up negative comments about L'Elite. I would have been a lot more relaxed had the experience been focused on me finding a dress, not another shop. My whole group expressed after how we loved my dress but wished we had found it elsewhere. I felt like we were a little rushed out of the store when checking out/ finishing up because they don't have much room for new brides to transition appointments to purchasing. I was told that I could browse veils and other accessories when I came to get my dress. When I came back to pick up my dress, there was very few accessories to choose from and the girl helping me seemed to be caught by surprise by asking to see what accessories they had. Overall I love my dress but I wish I had found it elsewhere. read more

Flair sold me a dress that is too big and can't be altered to fit my body. With less than 100 days to go I've had to settle for an off the rack dress that I don't love instead. I went to Flair in July 2020 to browse for my September 2021 wedding. On my first trip there I found a dress and fell in love with it. I was told I needed to buy ASAP for it to be there in time for my wedding. I decided to sleep on it and come in to buy it the next day. The next day in the store the consultant pulled a different dress and had me try it on. It was gorgeous but had a wide v neck that showed a lot of cleavage. I expressed concern over the fit and was told that the dress would never look worse on me than the sample did. And when I got the actual dress it would fit me like a dream. The sample was a 10 and I measured between a 12 and 14. I told the staff that I planned to lose weight and had also been considering a breast reduction. They still encouraged me again and again to get a 14. They said it was better to get bigger and they would recommend tailors to fit it to me perfectly. So I listened to them, trusting their expertise. The dress arrived after 5 months, 10 months before my wedding date. I was nervous when I tried it on because it was so big. I had to hold the top up because if I put my arms to my sides the straps would fall off and show my breasts. I was reassured again that it would fit perfectly after tailoring. I went to one of their recommended tailors, who warned me not to lose weight. I gained weight instead. We did multiple rounds of alterations but the problem with the wide neck was that when it was taken in at the sides, the v neck for wider and my nipples showed. My tailor did such amazing detailed alterations in very delicate areas. It didn't work. The only way to make sure my nipples won't pop out is to create a brand new seam in the center of my dress, raise the neckline, and cover any illusion lace with opaque lace. It would change the entire dress design and take away my favorite feature of the dress. I emailed flair and let their team know what was going on, so that they would know for future brides. Their response was that alterations were tricky and a different tailor should be able to do it. (I was going to a tailor on their recommended list and when I had asked for specific recommendations they said anyone on the list would be wonderful) I talked to other seamstresses and they agreed there was no other solution. I showed two of them the original size 10 dress I tried and they pointed out issues with fit that should have been red flags and I should never have been recommended the dress. My seamstress has been working so hard on the dress and I think she has done an amazing job. The issue is that Flair has no seamstress on staff and the girls their clearly have no training. I'm forever kicking myself for listening to their advice, and thinking I was getting any sort of expertise. I'm getting married in 92 days and had to go buy a new dress. I'm limited to off the rack and ready to ship options. I don't love the new dress I had to get but the one flair sold me and told me to order does not fit. I'm out almost $7k dollars between both dresses and alterations and expect to spend more before I'm done. My chance to have my dream dress was ruined. I've been crying for days and at this point my best hope is that I can learn to accept my new dress so that I'm not spending my wedding day hating it. I regret going to flair, utterly and completely. I hope no other bride ever had to have this experience. read more

My experience at Flair was the best! I had gone to 4-5 stores in Boston/NYC and was still searching for my perfect dress. Kaitie made the process so seamless. I showed her pictures of a dress I liked, but aspects of it that I didn't like, as well as things I wanted/didn't want in my wedding dress. We pulled dresses from the racks that I was interested in and Kaitie also went through and found dresses she thought would fit what I envisioned.. and then we found the one that screamed "this is my dress". It is a Kelly Faetinini dress and actually was something that they did not typically carry on a normal basis, so it was truly meant to be! Kaitie helped me feel comfortable throughout the process as I did my bridal shopping solo. I felt like I could talk to her and she would give me true feedback. She would also give me space when I needed a moment to think! If you can, for sure request for Kaitie! The space at Flair is beautiful as well, great lighting. They have added florals to the main area since I went for my first visit. I just picked up my dress the other day and was so happy to see Kaitie at my fitting. I had the best experience with Kaitie at Flair! First, the space is amazing and immediately feels welcoming. The team member who checked us in was so warm and brought us right to our private area to meet with our consultant, Kaitie. Kaitie was so helpful both fitting the dresses to perfection, but also really hearing what I liked and didn't like about every one. The shop is deceivingly deep in styles and designers, and with Kaitie's help I felt like I was able to try a plethora of different silhouettes.
