The fakest custom tailor of all time. These guys take your measurements then send them to china. What you get back is a suit cut like a burlap sack and WAY off on every measurement. They then start to hack away at that to try and make it fit you. The single worst suit purchase I've ever made and it was unfortunately for my wedding day. Suit is awful quality material and threads constantly coming out of it. The local laundromat commented that no matter what they do it just bleeds threads and seems to be very cheap fabric. We went in knowing little about what we wanted other than a general idea of the colors. Alex was more than happy to be our guide through the whole process. He pulled out loads of swatches and laid them out, explaining the nuances of each fabric type and texture so we could make the most informed decisions possible. But, it was also important to him that we were making suits that were custom to our individual tastes and personalities. You can tell they take pride in their work and that they strive to make something that is special and perfect for you. Let me explain: This place is a bit pricey but the service is amazing and it's nice to have someone to act as a style guide even when you know what you what you want. This time around, I wanted to get a party suit for celebrations such as wedding and was looking into getting a burgundy suit. What was amazing is that there are so much details to choose such as buttons, lining, the inside of the jacket, fabric, and etc. The little details was all things that matter but I haven't thought about. You do come in here for a tailor suit and I really appreciate having somebody like Alex to be a style guide on top of that. This place is comparable to the Suit Supplies but you get somebody to work with you the whole time (that includes answering your emails and any questions about how to dress for success or dress for the life of a party). I am a 67 year old, stocky sort of non-glamour guy. On my bucket list was a custom built suit before I died. 9Tailors did not disappoint. This is truly a custom shop that takes their time in measuring and listening to your needs. I'm 5'9", 190#'s, with a 36" waist and a 48" chest(ex competitive powerlifter) Off the rack suits, even with tailoring, never quite made it. Be prepared to spend some time, over 5000 fabric selections and a myriad of custom options. i learnt things about tailoring that even GQ didn't know. And for a third of the price of a Cannelli! Custom fitting off a shell that is then sent to Hong Kong for tailoring. Final fitting after the garment returns. The folks who work here are lovely, warm, and welcoming. _____________ The Experience: This is where I'm a little less happy with the 9tailors experience. Both times we have had an issue with the delivery. 1. For our wedding, 9tailors neglected to include the custom tuxedo shirt when my husband picked up his tux. Thank God he checked it right away and got in touch with them. They offered to deliver it the day before the wedding, but never showed up with it. They finally got in touch and said they would deliver it the morning of our wedding. Thankfully, they did, but it was just a stressful thing to have happen so close to the wedding. 2. For the custom shirt on our anniversary, we arranged for the shirt to be mailed to us when it was finished because we live in New York. (I recall vividly standing with Eboni and reciting our address, and swiping my credit card twice because we hadn't included the delivery charge in the initial transaction.) They say a custom shirt is supposed to take six weeks, so after not hearing anything for six and a half, I reached out to confirm that everything was okay. 9tailors kindly followed up saying that there was a delay due to the busy holiday season, and that it should be in the next week's shipment. After I didn't receive the shipment for another two weeks, I reached out again. I was told that the shirt was there, and that it had been there for a while. This raised two questions for me. First, what happened to the delivery we had arranged? And second, imagining I lived in Boston and was planning on picking up the shirt: if the shirt had arrived and been sitting there for some time, why hadn't the customer been notified that the order was complete? On the phone, the person I was speaking with told me that there was no record of a delivery request, and seemed to imply that the mistake was mine, which was a little frustrating. Once again, 9tailors was able to rectify the issue by overnighting the delivery so that my husband could wear the shirt for the holidays as planned. We appreciated their efforts to a speedy resolution. _____________ The Result: My husband looked AMAZING in the custom tux and shirts. Okay, obviously I'm a little biased, but I do think the custom tailoring made a huge difference. It came out beautifully. Unfortunately, after just a year (he's worn the tux twice, once to our wedding and once to the opera) the edges began to fray, which isn't ideal, but I really can't fault the craftsmanship beyond that. _____________ TL;DR They make tailoring fun, and the result looks great, but you will need to be sure that you are diligent about following up on the delivery of your items if it's for something important, and the longevity of the garments leaves a little bit to be desired. I've tried several custom suit places in Boston, New York, Shanghai, Hong Kong, and Macau. Now that I live in Boston, I can honestly say that 9tailors has the best custom suit for its price in all the places I've tried in the US. I first got a custom dress shirt made by them to test out their measurements and fit. It came back perfect. The second time I went to them was to get a custom sports jacket made. It required one additional alteration and then it was perfect. Sam is the owner and fitted for me. I told her what I was looking for in terms of fit and style and she made recommendations on the fabric and cut. The most recent item I got made was a full 3-piece suit for a wedding. Sam recommended a very high end black wool for the suit and when it came in, I was blown away by how good it looked. I ended up getting my partner a suit for the same wedding. I spent a long time searching for places to get a suit made for my wedding that would not only produce a good quality product, but would also make me feel comfortable throughout the process. 9tailors completely delivered on all fronts. Had an AMAZING experience getting my wedding tuxedo made at 9Tailors. I am a LGBT identifying woman who tends to wear more masculine attire and wanted to get a custom tux for my important day. I had gone to several other suit vendors in Boston and found that they had minimal experience with people like me, but at the recommendation of a friend, I decided to give 9Tailors a try. There is a direct correlation between the strength of my feelings on a subject and the length of my review. So, get your coffee and sit down, because this is a long one. When it comes to *nice* clothing, my life has been a tale of woe. Most of my life, I was fat (and big boned, double whammy), so you can imagine my disappointment when I discovered, upon arriving at a healthy weight, I am "stout Russian" healthy and not "Gwyneth Paltrow" healthy. Previously, I wore crap because there was nothing business professional for heavy women off the rack that wasn't laughable. Then I got fit, and things still didn't fit. Then, I met this guy who came from a part of the world where tailors still make clothing to fit the client's body, instead of making everything to fit Gwyneth Paltrow. I always figured that people bought custom clothing because they were rich and famous, but what about those of us who just don't exist in the minds of fashion designers? Maybe we weren't so screwed after all. It was then that I happened on 9Tailors. My main points of contact have been Michelle and Eboni, and they are awesome. My first purchase was a plain old cotton dress shirt. I know: Really? You went to a tailor for a pinstripe shirt? Look here: How many of those cotton dress shirts have you owned in your life? Five? Fifty? I owned zero. ZERO. I was 32 years old, and I had never in my entire life owned a cotton dress shirt that could be said to fit in any way--and not for lack of trying. When it came in, the shirt was a bit wonky--too short at the hip and a bit tight in the shoulders. We don't know how it ended up too short, but the shoulders were kind of my fault because I began a more rigorous exercise regimen than I was doing when I got measured. Michelle said to keep the shirt for emergency use in the interim while they made me a new shirt, free of charge. The new one fit like a charm. Check out the enclosed pictures--that's me wearing my first cotton dress shirt. It not only fits comfortably, it looks really good. I then saved up and bought a dress coat, another shirt, and a light wool suit. Keep in mind that these were not merely a luxury buy for me--before going to 9Tailors, all of these were articles of clothing that were both extremely useful and utterly out of reach because of my frame. So, know that I wasn't just picking up some shiny new luxury item: I was buying the ability to dress well for an event in winter, without resorting to putting a nice dress under a puffy ski coat; I was buying a reliably appropriate form of dress I could use for presentations and interviews, instead of trying to make do with clothing that did not quite suit. In short, I was buying the opportunity to be taken seriously in certain important social situations, because 9Tailors is one of those rare places where the fit and style of my clothing *was* taken seriously. Leslie Kinzel said of the frustration of trying to find clothing to fit the large female body, "Fashion is communication. If you cannot fit fashion, then you are left out of the conversation [....] If the jeans don't fit, it must be your fault. You should change to fit them, because the jeans are in charge here. If you refused--silly, stubborn person that you are--then you are relegating yourself to fashion struggles in perpetuity." Screw that. If you have the means, go custom. There is an evolutionary reason for big butts. There is no evolutionary reason for ill-fitting pants. Don't make my mistake and wait three decades thinking that the clothing you want doesn't exist. 9tailors is amazing! If you're looking to get a custom suit done just call them up and ask for Sam. First, the location is incredibly convenient in downtown Boston and the space is pretty cool. They always offer you up a drink when you come in. More importantly, Sam and her team have a fantastic selection of different fabrics and styles. The price points are also very competitive. A custom piece may set you back anywhere from $550-$1,300 depending on what you choose. Lastly, the customer service is top-notch. You can schedule appointments online, do fittings via Skype, and Sam will make sure that the final fit of the suit is what you're looking for. On that last part, I actually lost a decent amount of weight after Sam took my measurements. She was going to have the pants taken in after the first fitting, but after thinking about how it would look/my needs she convinced me that the pants needed to be remade.....at no cost to me?! Please stay away from this place. They are not make bespoke clothing, just altering standard size shirt. What's more important, their tailor is not good. I fitted twice with them. (They "remade" the shirt, which I naively believed would fit me) The shirt not only looked terrible on me because the whole cut was wrong, but I couldn't even wear them comfortably. I have to admit it's a lesson I learned. You cannot always trust average yelp rating. I'd rather alter the shirt by some decent tailors paying out of the pocket than let them do the job for me. I'm a tomboyish queer person. I've always made-do with clothes off the rack, which has worked fairly well until I was looking for something sharp to wear to my own wedding. I went to 9 Tailors after they were recommended by a friend. I went in with no knowledge of bespoke clothing, and wasn't sure I'd make it past the sticker shock of the price of a custom suit. Sam was very patient (she even asked for my pronouns, which was a welcome surprise). She could tell I was very hesitant about the money, but assured me that 9 Tailors would work with me to create something I'd love, and if not, I'd be able to get my money back. In the time it took for me to decide to go ahead or not, I asked Sam a few questions about how 9 Tailors came to be, and who they work with to produce the garments. It was after this conversation that I decided that I did want to make the investment, and support Sam and her business. It's important to me to shop small & local when I can, and it's a plus that I get to support a minority-owned and woman-owned business. The process itself was fairly easy to go through. Sam took a bunch of measurements for my 3 piece suit and we looked at different fabric, cut, and button options. She allowed me to pick what I liked, and offered suggestions to help. She let me know it would be about 6 weeks until I'd hear back. When the suit was ready, she had me return to the store to try things on, so that we could see what alternations were needed. I also added a custom shirt to the order. At my final fitting, I went to try everything on and noticed that the shirt had a snag through it. Sam confirmed this and let me know she would rectify the situation and make sure I had a defect free shirt to wear for my special day. In the end, I had a great custom suit for my beach wedding and felt super happy about my decision the day of. I guess I should start this review by saying that I am not what I would consider the typical person who would go to a custom clothier for a suit. It has just never made sense to me ... until I started to dig a little deeper and really look at the end product of what you would be getting. Admittedly, I have always been the person who bought my suits off the rack and then had them tailored (as best possible) and had suits that I would characterize as being 'fine'. There was nothing overly special about them, they did their job, and they didn't break the bank. Seeing as how I needed to pick up a couple of new suits, I decided to check out 9 Tailors (as a handful of people I work with have all purchased suits from here in last few years). I can't say enough great things about Sam and her team. What I will say is that Sam runs her business in a manner that gives every client confidence in what the end product is going to look/feel like and that (as a client) you are going to be completely satisfied with your clothing when the process is complete. I would argue that in any business, things can go 'off the tracks' from time to time. The fact this can happen isn't what a business should be judged on, instead, it is my opinion that the business should be judged on how they react and respond to these situations. Again, I have found Sam and her team to be stellar in every aspect. They are proactive, and are clearly experts at what they do. Having suits that properly fit me, and have been custom fit to my body size/shape is something that many people simply can't get when buying out of a traditional retail shop. I just want to be clear on this....most of these reviewers seem too good to be true, and with advice, i went to 9tailors and i got anything but a fairytale. FYI-most of the other reviewers? Most likely Friends or Staff...yelp should do a screening so these things dont happen. Next time when you want to buy off someones review make sure they have more than 1 review or a review other than your business to make it more believable.....i hate when businesses do this. My Experience: -Saw a deal on Gilt for a Custom Suit for under $500 -said heck yea & jumped on it -went in to get "measured" lets keep those quotes in mind ($ 10 parking) -waited 4-6 weeks per usual -went back in to pickup/ 2nd round tailoring ($10 dollars for parking) now heres where the fun begins: -this place is MTM!!!!!! for those who dont know what this means, dont worry since it wont bother you lol, just bothers me why they use the word custom. -weight of the suit: for 240's super fine wool this definitely did not feel like anything but like 100's in terms of texture and softness and what i felt in the swatch book. 240's seem great, but bigger isnt always better. -silhouette :boxy appearance, more american cut than European ( i specifically requested European cut) i looked like lurch...no joke -looks like it was sewn from some standard pattern and not from the measurements as evident when i put the jacket on. -lining felt very light and aloof -button missing on the pants (almost inexcusable, this just confirms that there is no quality check once constructed and prior to shipment) -did not feel like it was fully canvassed, looked and felt very lifeless as a fused suit would. -shoulder pads that were inserted looked like 80's female suit horns -not comfortable with another 2 weeks of further tailoring by someone i do not know of / and the option to take it to my tailor was rejected-(see my review on jacks tailors and his awesomeness) -pant lengths were off by 3 inches with cuff, that margin is a bit too high considering MTM -came straight from working out, didnt have a dress shirt or dress shoes on me to try on while wearing the suit, i was told to come back with them next time, or they can take an "estimated" guess....uh huh..yeap way to be professional, what clothier has no spare shirts or dress shoes lying around for customers to wear with their "PRODUCT". Bottom line: looks like this place is known for shirts, but if my experience counts for anything i wouldn't hold too many high expectations for the shirt either. Its a shame, since i had very high hopes and expectations due to the Yelp ratings and reviews that were posted, but alas i guess you can buy reviews much like you can buy a bad suit. i guess my biggest problem with this place is why go through the pretense of measurements when at the end of the day the people in china take height as the only measurement to cut it out of a standard pattern?????? give me off the rack anyday with a tailor who can make it mine. They have great taste and were indispensable when we were going through all the options. I got a custom shirt and vest and had so much fun playing with all the possibility. This review is long overdue. A little bit of background about me - I'm 31, work in finance and typically wear a suit to work everyday. Therefore its very important to me how the suits I wear look, feel, and fit. I wouldn't say I purchase ultra-fancy suits, but I'm more than willing to spend money on the right suit and more importantly to have it tailored to fit perfectly. Probably around 6 months ago, my wife stumbled upon a GILT deal on a suit at a custom tailor - 9 Tailors. The price was right, so I figured - what's the harm? I bought the deal and made an appointment with 9 Tailors. I won't get into excruciating detail here, but I went in with one of the suits in my closet that I like and the person working there sat down with me to walk me through the process. We picked styles, fabrics, and just had a general chat about my taste in suits. They took a look at the suit that I was wearing, measured me and measured my suit and off I went. Suit would be ready in a couple weeks. When it was ready, I made another appointment and I went in to see the product. I was not impressed. The fabric was fine, the fit was ok, but most importantly, there were weird bumps in the shoulder pads. It didn't lie flush. They looked at it, agreed with my assessment on fit and the bumps and told me that they would send it to the tailors to have it fixed. Fast forward about a month and couple more meetings and although the suit was alot better, they could not fix the bumps completely and I wasn't satisfied. Because I was not completely satisfied, Sam (owner) proactively told me that she would either refund my money, or make me a new suit. Bear in mind that although I wasn't satisfied with the suit, I was very appreciative of the service and attentiveness throughout the entire process. Sam and her team were very client service focused. So - I decided to try again with another suit. I sat down with Sam and I went through an abbreviated process and chose a new fabric - navy pinstripe. Sure enough, a couple weeks later the suit was ready and I went in to try it on. The fit was spot on. The fabric was soft and draped well. The suit had a couple little things to be tightened up, but otherwise looked great. They had me walk to their tailor across the street and had him point out any last fixes and a week later I had a beautiful suit that was pretty close to perfect. AND I got it for a fraction of the price I would typically pay. Although it took some time and effort - I ended up with a suit that I proudly wear at the beginning of my suit rotation. I can't say enough about Sam and her team. I was very impressed by how focused she was on ultimately ensuring that the customer was satisfied. I look forward to working with Sam and her team again when it comes time to add to my suit repetoire. I can't recommend this place highly enough. You can see by my other Yelp reviews that I put customer service almost above the actual product. 9tailors is not only a customer service dream, but their product is excellent as well. I chose this place mostly based on vibe, after visiting several other stuffier stores, or stores that mostly talked about what they *couldn't* do. The women of 9tailors, however, are a joy to work with, and they make something as potentially dull as having a suit made into a ton of fun, yet are super professionals, working with you over every last detail until you get exactly what you asked for. In my case, I came in for a suit for my wedding with a very VERY specific/eccentric concept that existed mostly in my head -- the style consultants were ridiculously patient with my groomzilla-like inability to pull the trigger regarding styles, fabrics, etc. However, working mostly with Kimberly (who was awesome), we were able to get the concept out of my head and onto paper, and then into an absolutely amazing suit that was exactly what I had envisioned in my best-case scenario (eccentric/stylized without looking costumey -- no easy feat!). In the end, (my wedding) I think I got as many compliments on my suit as my wife did on her wedding gown (and she looked breathtaking). Paul K. is right...most of these five-star reviews are bogus reviews, likely from friends of the owner (check out the filtered 5-star reviews too.). I ordered five dress shirts form here and received one I really liked, three which were okay and one that wasn't even what I ordered. Turns out the sweatshop in China that 9tailors outsources to had a different pattern number for the shirt I ordered out of the store catalog. Sam, the owner, of course didn't believe me and tried to pawn off this ugly shirt with a disgusting contrast collar, saying "are you sure you didn't order this?" And then finally - "do you want this instead?" When I asked for just a refund - she came back "are you sure, no store credit?" She finally agreed to credit me, but of course I had to remind her twice via email. Now the kicker - when I finally did get my credit, she did it via Pay Pal using her credit card, which of course costs me a 3% transaction fee. Sure, we're talking $2.70 off a $90 shirt, but since I paid her via Pay Pal bank account (costing her no transaction fee) - I was beyond pissed she couldn't even afford me the same courtesy. Going to 9Tailors is like a trip to the Candy Store! For years, I found it challenging to find dress shirts as I ...um, well am quite busty. The top button on a lot of my dress shirts would pop open during inappropriate times where I found myself to be in very embarrassing situations. It was a blessing for me to find 9Tailors as I am able to get custom fitted shirts that allows me to avoid the humility. I love going through all of the color swatches and being able to select every detail on my shirts. I love mandarin collars (which is another hard item to find for women's shirt), and now I can pretty much get it whenever I want. I love it. I am about to start work at a major management consulting firm in New York. I was an engineering major in college and never paid attention to custom tailored dress shirts. I mean, why buy $60-$90 dress shirt when you go get through job interviews with $15 ones? I heard about 9tailors through a campus advertising effort and bought a shirt just to see what the buzz was about. I was amazed by the product they delivered. What I got for $60 was a sleek, well textured dress shirt that fit me better than any other shirt in my entire closet. I have worn that shirt to interviews and to bars, and have received many compliments. I realized that you might be able to get a shirt with same quality / texture for similar prices at a major retail store. However, finding one that fits you perfectly on any occasion is difficult and extremely time consuming. In addition to the superb customer service, 9tailors remember your fit and adding shirts to your wardrobe can't be any easier. I came to 9tailors in an emergency after another custom tailor in New York who shall remain nameless (rhymes with Lohan's) utterly failed to deliver my best man's suit for my upcoming wedding. I came to 9tailors on Tuesday, gave them my best man's measurements on paper and they had the suit made and delivered by Friday. That's insane!!! The other tailor who failed me was speechless. They said it was not possible. I don't recommend giving yourself a week or less for an important occassion, but this is a testament of what these folks are capable of. Despite the fact that my BM's suit measurements were given on paper and not taken in person the suit fit very well. The material was good quality. He looked really good in the suit. I've used 9tailors before and find their shirts and suits to be a great value. You can get a custom made suit and shirt here for a very reasonable price. Their communicatoin is great (I've seen the worst and it's in NYC). They stand behind their product and provide great customer service. Thank you 9tailors for your help! read more

I think the experience that you will get with this place will depend on what you get and who takes your measurements. My friend who came with me bought a custom suit, but had a really bad experience when he came back to get his suit. But my experience was actually pretty pleasant. I got a custom-fit dress shirt. Sam was the one who helped me and took my measurements (the Asian girl) and she did a great job and was very helpful when I was trying to figure out what my shirt was going to look like. She really knows how to match colors with secondary patterns and your skin tone. After my initial measurements, it took about 5 weeks for my shirt to come. It was about a week longer then they said it would. Four weeks is pretty standard and they outsource to China. When I came back to get my shirt it fit perfectly.It cost $150 with custom patterns on the cuffs and the collar. I haven't tried washing and ironing yet, so but they give you 2 wash-dry cycles to get anything fixed. Now, my advice to you is to ask specifically for Sam to do your measurements and help you out from the beginning. I think she is the most experienced and helpful out of the workers there. I wouldn't let anyone else take my measurements or buy a suit based on the below review. However, if you're looking for a really good shirt that fits perfectly and looks great, 9tailors is a good choice. Just remember to ask for Sam. read more

I purchased a woman's dress shirt from 9tailors a couple of years ago to wear with my suits and had a really good experience with the company. Sam was extremely kind and pleasant. Measurements were taken when I went to my appointment and I was told that if there were any issues after the shirt arrived, they would work with me to fix them. I customized my dress shirt to be a plain pink shade with a polka dot collar and cuffs - it is absolutely adorable. The shirt came in relatively quickly and I went back in for a fitting. I liked it enough not to ask for further alterations. I would say the cost was fair - I honestly can't remember what I paid, but I don't remember it being outlandish. Anyways, I've been wearing this dress shirt for two years now and it's held up well. The fit was great then and great now. I did request invisible snap buttons that would prevent gaping at the bust and the shirt fits seamlessly as a result. All in all, good experience and I would come back! My brother and several of his friends came here for suits for a wedding and he said his experience was great as well. read more

I recently came to 9tailors for my first ever high-end custom suit purchase. I am thrilled with the quality of the suit, the fit, and the level of service I received. I'd definitely recommend 9tailors to anyone looking for a nice suit. After a really disappointing experience at a Men's Wearhouse (I felt like MW was on par with used car dealers), I decided I was at the point in my life where I should get a NICE custom-fitted suit, particularly because I'm a bit of a difficult size. I narrowed my choices down to 9tailors or Blank Label, and ultimately ended up going with 9tailors because they seem to offer a slightly better variety of fabrics, options, etc based on what I had seen. From start to finish, the level of service I received was excellent. They took their time and talked to me about fit options, took lots of measurements, and the results really show... the suit fits better than anything I could possibly imagine. The price is surprisingly reasonable if you compare it to what you would pay in a nicer department store like Macy's, Nordstrom, etc. Mine was more expensive because I got a 3 piece and picked some nicer custom options, but the base prices are very reasonable for what it is. The suit arrived earlier than they had promised, and after my test-fitting they wanted to make two minor alternations to make sure it was just right (which they said could take two weeks.) However the alterations were finished in less than a week, which was great! It wasn't convenient for me to come back a 3rd time to check the altered fit and pick up the suit, so I asked if I could have the suit shipped to me. They did, but they did charge me $9 for shipping. Not a huge deal, but if someone had just bought an $1100+ suit from me, I would ship it to them for free. Regardless, I am very thrilled with the process and the final product, and they were great to deal with. I purchased two shirts from 9tailors over a year ago, but seeing as there are no reviews for women's clothing, thought I would toss in my two cents. I was excited about the idea of 9tailors when I first heard about it. I'm extremely petite, and have a hard time finding dress shirts that fit off the rack. When I arrived, I took it as a sign of confidence that the shop was staffed by petite women. Though it should have been a warning flag to me that they weren't actually wearing any of their own productions... They were pleasant and patiently went through the book of custom materials with me. I was completely lured by the endless combinations of cloth-patterns and contrast piping. At this point, I was imagining a whole new wardrobe. But struck by an unusual moment of common sense, decided to try out a small order first. My measurements were taken by what I assume was the trainee at the time. When I came back several weeks later, I was surprised to find that the shirts were extremely ill-fitted, as if they were made for another person entirely. The shoulders were awkwardly large. The sleeves were tight and strangely puckered at the underarms. The body was boxy, and unfeminine, which I assumed was because they were used to men's orders. The fabric of one was stiff and cheap looking. The make of the other one was noticeably imperfect: the fabric was very sheer and they overlapped it at the seams in such a way that made these wide, squiggly opaque lines of uneven widths. They offered to fix the fit at least. Sam took over at this point and re-measured. But when I came back again, they still didn't fit. Repeat experience two weeks later. By that time, I was tired of coming back again and again, and it looked like they were going to be brusque if I asked them one more time anyway. So I took the sad little things home. Since then, I've worn the slightly better-fitted shirt once - that's it. Though Sam gave me a discount on the second shirt for the trouble, I've ended up spending $175 I think. The entire process also took over two months. I'd hope for their sake that they'd have worked out the kinks by now, but suspect that these problems are inherent to their outsourcing model. To be fair, these shirts are reasonably nice-looking when on the hanger, but what's the point of getting a custom shirt that doesn't fit? read more

This place is complete incompetence. Stay away. They made the wrong vest for my wedding tuxedo. We aren't talking about minor details, it was completely the wrong cut. They didn't bother to check the order when it came in. So they didn't know they were wrong until my Fitting. I had to follow up to make sure they ordered it. It is now 5 days before my wedding and they still don't have the vest. Hopefully they don't completely screw up the alterations as wel This is not how tailors should work. 9tailors exceeded all of our expectations. Before our wedding, my now husband and I decided it would be best to get a custom tux since rentals cost upwards of $250 and barely fit. We made an appointment and met with Sam who was extremely professional and walked us through the entire process. As newbies to tux buying, she had her hands full explaining the intricacies of designing a custom tux but she was very thorough in her explanations and which made us feel comfortable with our decisions. At our second meeting, which was the fitting, we had just as good of an experience. The tux and custom shirt fit perfectly and just the pants needed to be slightly hemmed to fit Noah's taste. All in all, we received a very well fitting tux and shirt for around 4x the cost of a rental. WELL worth it, in our opinions! We also purchased a bowtie which Sam willingly mailed us so that we didn't have to come back into the store. I have experience with several tailors offering custom suits and was looking for a local place after a relocation to the area. I wasn't comfortable at the suit fitting and I walked away feeling anxious about it. The suit itself seems poorly built. It wrinkles in a lot of places it shouldn't. Specifically the crotch and shoulders/back of the arms are a mess. The suit is not flattering and seems like it was made for someone with a heavier body type. After revisions, it was difficult to continue to commit time to the process. The back of the arms did not improve. Finally there is a limited window to make changes without additional cost. I travel for work and am often out of town, they declined to extend the window for me. Ultimately I spent quite a bit of money and time on a suit that I don't wear and sits in my closet as a reminder of how not to buy a suit. read more
