My husband and I shopped for an *ethical* engagement ring at Laura Preshong in October, 2017…read more Shopping for such a pricey and special item can be very overwhelming, but we felt very comfortable at Laura Preshong. We never felt pressured to buy before we were ready, and the sales associates and Laura herself answered any and all questions we had. My husband thinks that most engagement rings look like ring pops.. They are too high up. Prior to us starting the search for the right ring, I assumed my options were going to be high settings. But when we arrived at Laura Preshong, we quickly realized that we were in the right place. The settings are lower but exquisite. And there are many beautifully handcrafted designs to chose from. We found our favorite and then went back this spring to look at wedding bands. Ultimately, my husband went for a chain store wedding band since he wanted something very simple that was cheaper elsewhere. But my wedding band if from Laura Preshong and it's beautiful and fits perfectly with my engagement ring. I've been married for a month and a half now, but I still look at my rings and think they are SO beautiful. Laura Preshong is an upbeat, fun person. You get to know her and her staff personally while you work with them. I highly recommend. I had to have both rings reset by a different jeweler as Laura was rude and dismissive the first time I brought it to her attention that my setting was loose - when I nearly lost my center stone within a year of receiving the ring. I am kind of relieved to read that other reviewers had a similar experience as me because Laura was so dismissive and made me feel like it was my fault that I wear my rings too hard. I have other diamond rings that have never had this happen!

This store is stunning. It's bright, beautiful and has great vibes to it. Everything is delicately placed so prettily. There's candles, spell books, tarot cards and decor. It's literally the perfect go to place for all your magical needs. It was hard not to buy all the little spell books. They were so dainty and with spells for prosperity, why would you not want that? I did buy a small spell book, a post card and several incense match books. My friends are going to love them! The two gals working today were lovely! So sweet and kind. Visit the store, discuss your idea and budget, and get started on a custom jewelry piece. I also had them take the cubic zirconias out of a 10kt gold pendant I bought second hand years ago. They replaced those with real diamonds to upgrade the piece. Also, they took a plain 14kt gold name pendant I already had, and set about 4 carats of diamonds in the piece to upgrade it. I also had them custom make me some gold diamond stud screw back earrings. I bought a few gold link chains as well. Most mass-market candles are made with toxic paraffin wax or some kind of "unknown" blend, while these are 100% soy. Noted candles lasts longer than almost any candle I've used, and their reed diffusers are excellent too. I bought a Winterberry diffuser at the end of November, and now it's mid-May and it still has a little less than half left. They also have a "bring back your used candle" program where you get a few dollars off your current purchase, which is a great way to reduce waste and help customers save money. The only reason I didn't give five stars is the pricing. The candles are quite expensive for the size: $44 for a 16 oz candle and $28 for an 8 oz. They're probably some of the most expensive candles I've purchased. That said, while I disagree with the pricing (event pricing too), I continue to shop here (not as often as I wish) because I don't buy candles unless I can smell them first, sand I've been coming here for over three years. You can try to get candles on-sale, but that is only at the end of the season to make room for new or returning scents.
