We love stopping into home goods, TJX, and sierra in general. This is the first time at this location and it's spacious. Specifically we were looking for charcuterie board and found the perfect one that spins! Using it to make our own for snacks while watching a show! Pricing is affordable and they have so many items here that you didn't think you'd ever need haha. So we spent some time checking things out, never know what idea pops up next. Has good parking right outside, located next to TJX down street and sierra which all seemingly correlate to one another. Service was find quick and easy checkout. Got what we needed. THIS HOMEGOODS IS HUGEEE! I'm always in Newton for the TjMaxx & Sierra BUT have never visited the HomeGoods! Today was my first visit ever and omg... they had so much inventory. Much more than any other HomeGoods I've ever been to. They even have a second floor where they house the bathroom decor, blankets, & vanities. Their first floor had a large selection of lamps, house decorations, kitchen gadgets + machines such as SMEG coffee machine + Cuisinart products, as well as outdoor patio furniture sets! Honestly will be back very, very soon! They have literally everything and more, I love it! We found a nice rotating charcuterie board here and I have already made great use out of it earlier haha. The service of the staff was friendly at the check out . It was during the week so it was not that busy . The value is good for the price . You definitely don't pay full price here . I just dropped in this weekend to look for a mirror and I got totally sidetracked by all the AMAZING Christmas decor that was out on display. I felt like a kid in a candy store. It's like they knew I was coming? Nothing was picked over and I swear I could've cleared off shelves and shelves of Christmas decor during this one visit. After filling up an entire cart full of Christmas stuff (you heard me), we headed over to the mirrors section and there wasn't anything basic that we were hoping to find so we didn't leave with what we were hoping to, although I would argue we left with even better goods thanks to Christmas decor. The staff is friendly here, there's plenty of parking right outside in a back parking lot, and just know there might be a slight wait in line at the checkout (I'm not surprised given by how busy it always is in here!). Of course, like any home goods it can be a hit or miss experience but this was a total hit! read more

Excellent HG that does get crowded, so go early in the day (preferably on a weekday) or maybe just before closing on weekends. People with carts block the aisles, but that happens at every store unfortunately. There is an excellent selection of pet items for the 4-pawed family members in your life as well. The staff at the registers are always very nice, my absolute favorite is Julie who is nice and really funny. The parking area is also nuts, park along the side and you can make a really quick escape onto Needham St (where you will most likely sit in traffic) and you can also walk for 2 minutes and be at Marshall's to look for anything you need there. read more

If I could rate todays interaction with a ZERO I would! This Home Goods store is one of my regular shopping locations. On occasion a cashier forgets to remove a security tag. I return the item for tag removal and if there is any question about the purchase the cashier will check my debit card as proof of purchase if I dont have the original receipt. Today I encountered a poorly trained cashier with less than acceptable customer service communication skills. I walked through the door directly to the checkout line and waited for the next cashier. I explained the situation and offered my debit card to show proof of purchase. The cashier accused me of shoplifting the item and threatened to call her manager and loss prevention! I asked her to please call her manager over and ai would gladly explain and produce my cars for proof of purchase. She raised her voice which caught the attention of the customers waiting in line. At that time another familiar cashier approached her and mentioned that Im a regular customer. She told me she would do me a favor and remove the security tag this time. I asked to speak with the manager. Manager came up to check out and questioned me about the item. I explained the situation to her and reminded her that she has helped me in the past when Ai had to return to have the security tags removed. The entire situation was handled unprofessionally and accusatory. I felt humiliated and completely disrespected as a loyal Home Goods shopper. I was angry and upset that these sales representatives would believe that this behavior is appropriate treatment of customers. I followed up my review of this store with a phone call to corporate offices. I was at the Waltham store with a return and the cashier not only asked me to remove the items from the bag for her but also throw the bag out for her in the bin where the entrance is. She calls everyone hon. First of all, I don't work for home goods, nor do I work for her. I did it as I didn't want an argument, but next time I won't be as an accommodating. read more

Opening day really drew in the crowds - it's almost like these folks have never seen a Home Goods before. Then again, I fell for the hype too, so who am I to talk? The inside looks like most other stores, although perhaps bigger, and it's the same idea as the rest of them - full of ridiculously cheap knick knacks that you definitely don't need but can't quite resist. Also, there were so many chicken sculptures. Chickens EVERYWHERE. (not that I'm complaining, chicken sculptures make everything better) I gotta say though that the staff here ran a very tight ship today. The shelves still looked organized ten hours after opening, all of the registers were open ensuring that the line moved like clockwork and the everyone was surprisingly uncranky and friendly considering the crowds they had to deal with. Major kudos there. Just note that the entrance is actually in the back, facing away from Needham Street - we had to walk all the way around before we found it. And hey, now Needham street has finally completed the trifecta - the holy trinity that is Marshall's, TJ Maxx and Home Goods. Who even needs to go anywhere else? read more

I wish I could give zero stars. I had with a purchase at the Newton, MA store today. I bought a 3 piece queen bedding set (comforter and 2 shams) today and when I got home and began to put the set on our bed it was clear that the comforter had been used, and used fairly extensively. There were burn marks all over it and what appeared to be large spots of dried bodily fluids all over it. To say this was disgusting to me is an understatement! Clearly someone at the Newton store accepted this return from a previous customer and restocked it on the shelf without ever inspecting the product. This negligence put me and my family at great risk for disease and infection. The HomeGoods website has a whole section on Covid protocol yet their local stores clearly are not well versed in that protocol, nor do they appear to care about protecting customers from unnecessary potential exposure or harm. Obviously I will be returning this item for a full refund but I will not shop at HomeGoods again! Inspect your purchases at this store very carefully! read more

Be beware making any returns at this TJ Maxx and the HomeGoods across the street. Once, I returned $50 worth of clothes, and when I looked at my credit card statement a few weeks later, the return hadn't gone through (unfortunately I stupidly trusted the return went through and tossed the receipt). Once, I tried to return a bathmat to HomeGoods across the street, and they accused me of stealing it to try to return it. Did I have the receipt? Yes. They simply said "their item numbers didn't match" so I must have stolen the bath mat. I have a graduate degree, a good job, and I'm a mom of 2..  I'm not going to risk going to jail by trying to steal and then return a $20 bath mat! I am shocked at the "customer service" and would never, ever, EVER visit this TJ Maxx or the Home Goods on Needham Street ever again. read more

I was excited about the prospect of home goods re opening in Newton after closing the location on route 9 a few years ago. I was planning to spend several hours here and make a day of it since there's some good lunching spots nearby on Needham street. I expected that I would love it but I felt very claustrophobic in this store. It is a different floor plan than most of the home goods around the area. It felt way over stocked. The shelving is very high. You feel as if the stuff in falling down on you in the isles. It is just crammed in every possible shelf space is taken. Not easy to sift through. I generally love the pet department at a Marshals or Home Goods, but the one here was just not as good. The entrance was confusing and parking was confusing. I would drive to another location just for the ability to see the items more clearly presented. read more

Grand opening today. Crazy crowds, but they're doing a great job keeping the register lines as short as possible. The store itself is definitely clean and new, as expected. A pretty big store, and a great addition to the Needham St. area! Perhaps moving ahead their parking lot will be too small at times, if other Home Goods stores are used as reference. read more

I was told by a friend that there is a new manager that has taken over this store, so I decided to give it another shot! Unfortunately, the very rude employee (African American middle aged woman who's name is Deb or Debra) is still working there and still interacting with customers! I asked her a question and she totally ignored me as if I was invisible! I then asked my question again and was told to "look over there" for the product I was looking for, and she turned her back on me. I am sorry but I thought that customer service employees are there to help customers? If she is only meant to put product on shelves then she should wear a sign saying "Don't Ask Me For Help!" Not make a customer feel as if they are bothering her! So even though I was told there is new management, unfortunately I was left with a very bad taste in my mouth and once again will not be returning to that store as it seems my business isn't wanted there read more

Great customer service - friendly and HELPFUL-patient, great store all around. I recently went to this Homegoods store and ended up purchasing some small furniture items (they have a GREAT selection) and I was SO impressed. I have moved to Boston recently and while very familiar with Homegoods, THIS store really has GREAT selection and is really displayed so well....I also bought towels (same ones WAY more $$ at full retail). This is a fantastic Homegoods location with an excellent selection. My mother is a designer and I am a frequent Homegoods shopper, currently attempting to redecorate my home from scratch after living abroad for a couple of years and getting rid of almost everything. Gary is perhaps the kindest and most helpful managers I have encountered in this year-long process. I recently purchased a gorgeous leather chair, which sadly ended up being too large for my space, but throughout the process Gary was incredibly patient with all of my deliberation. He goes above and beyond expectations, and he understands the perils of decorating. The other managers that I have interacted with at the store, as well as the staff, are also particularly helpful. I'm not sure what I'm missing here, but this HomeGoods store was not what I was hoping for. Last week I visited one down South with tons of on-trend furniture, rugs, beautifully displayed items and it was fabulous. So when I returned to Boston I made a beeline to the Newton Store. It seemed like it was a different store entirely! What a shame that we can't access similar array of merchandise and style, reasonably priced. What little furniture there was did not impress and that is what I was there for. Clerks were notably cranky, stock was messy, and some things, like small rugs that aren't bathmats, didn't even have shelf space. I haven't been to other local stores in ages, and maybe they are better, but since the Newton Store is new I expected better--TJX headquarters is not too far away. Disappointing is an understatement. Now I know next time I head down South I need to leave some space in my car to haul stuff back to Massachusetts again. If the Newton store is representative of local offerings there isn't much to brag about. read more
