Needham General Store is such a gem! It has all the necessities and I can get in and out quickly! A huge bonus - this store has many wonderful gift items for birthdays or just to thank someone special. I particularly love the book selections and games. Listen up, Fernandes Mini Mart: just because you are across from the Hersey train station does NOT give you the right to rob people of their hard-earned money! We already expect high prices at a convenience store; we get that, it's a "convenience". However, $3.00 for a 3.5oz bag of Snyder's mini pretzel's is insane. A shop at the airport? OK. A shop at a hotel? Fine (I might have worked up an appetite in Room 418). But on Great Plain Ave in Needham? Not acceptable. Also not acceptable is having customers waiting to pay for the outrageous merchandise while the employee is in back, or taking a walk, or doing something besides being near the cash register. I wish I had just flung 2 bucks on the counter and left (that's TWO dollars, not three, and I definitely will never be back). read more

Very ,Very expensive just a heads up to be a smart shopper. Convenience does cost extra but there is a limit. To bad it is a cute spot. read more

Needham General Store is a great addition to the town. During this difficult time, it is nice to have a small-town store to turn to. We were hunting for a few key items the other day. The helper on the phone went through my list and picked out my items while I stayed on the phone. When I asked for dairy-free ice cream, the helper said while they did not have it, they would put it on the list for future delivery. We arrived, called the store, and our order was brought to our car. Everyone was courteous, kind, and helpful. Strongly recommend everyone support this wonderful place. read more

Needham General Store is amazing in every way. They opened just as Covid was changing all of our lives. Megan and Mike hit the ground running and they haven't stopped. They are an absolute godsend. I'm not sure what we did before they came to town. The store has been remodeled besurifully and they carry everything from groceries and produce to teas and coffees to toys and books to hand sanitizers and hand creams. For Mother's Day Megan filled the store with gorgeous flowers! They keep us posted daily, sometimes hourly on their FB page if important items (wipes and toilet paper) arrive! They started curbside service for those who are concerned about going inside. The store is incredibly clean and safe. The staff who work the grocery counter and the donut shop are helpful, cheerful and welcoming. It is such a pleasure to shop at the store. We're grateful to have them in our neighborhood!
