    steak bomb no onions
    John Y.

This is a review of their food court/deli area. I ordered some honey stung wings first, then waited for my number to be called to order a hot steak bomb, hold the onions. The sandwich is a great value and tasted really good. The staff is friendly as well. The major problem here is that I went mid afternoon on a weekday and the process takes way too long! There are 2 people manning the sandwich/pizza/wings space out front. They do NOT work efficiently at all. They just do whatever comes to mind first. I just wanted a sub and i was there for 40 minutes! All this time was spent waiting to place an order, then waiting for them to clean off the grills and start cooking, waiting for them to assemble the sub and package and hand it out. Kind of absurd and I hope for their sake that this is not the norm. The sandwich was excellent but due to the time of wait, it will be very hard to plan a lunch here at all. They need more streamlined work procedures to keep things moving along at a steady consistent pace. There were tons of people waiting and visibly frustrated. Understand they did their best, but the staff can use some guidance in optimizing their operations and execution to consistently handle more orders in a timely manner.

Nice grocery store with lots of fresh and prepared foods. I decided to get some fresh fruit and their selection and prices were really good. This is a store that sells really good quality produce and fruits as well. All the items in the produce section looked really fresh and ripe. Lots of cash registers to pay, so checkout was a breeze.

The only thing I don't like about the Waltham MB is that the customers are not used to the narrow aisles so they don't follow the typical Somerville cart patterns as well.

When I called the store, the person who answered the phone AND the store manager both immediately knew who I was, and why I was calling. No attempt to contact me was made, and no update on a new time of delivery, or reason for the delay. When I asked, they also immediately knew why it was delayed. The driver they contracted to make the delivery cancelled the order after allegedly showing up and accepting the items, then cancelling the order and returning the food to the store. I asked the manager if my food was now war, and out of refrigeration... to which he said everything had been re-refrigerated and allegedly the "driver" is on his way... but 2 hours and 10 minutes later... and counting... and how many people have handled my groceries? After they had to be checked and repacked? Will the milk be bad, ice cream melted, the bread crushed? I rushed home to be there for the delivery... The manager offered me $25. My time is worth way more than that. 0 out of 10. Strongly do not recommend shopping here. They knew what's going on, they just don't care about their customers.

I just stopped in here today after spotting it on the way home from Watch City Brewery, and boy am…read moreI glad I did. Before moving back to this area, I spent more than six years living in a neighborhood in Brooklyn populated largely with Mexican immigrants, which gave me ready access to their grocery stores, meat and fish markets, and restaurants. Now when I talk about Mexican grocery stores I'm not talking about some typical neighborhood convenience store with a little extra emphasis on the Goya products and some yuca, and plantains next to the bananas. I'm talking about Mexican businesses run by Mexican expatriates with other Mexican expatriates in mind, offering the creature comforts of their home and the necessary ingredients for a much revered home cooked meal. I miss those places. I miss having access to tortillas that were made in a factory three blocks away just a few days prior. I miss choosing between seven different types of regional chorizo. I miss the wide the range of queso fresco, imported hot sauces, and dried chilies that you just couldn't find in the other stores around the neighborhood. Walking into Azteca today was like walking back into one of those wonderful Mexican bodegas back in Bushwick. The room is somewhat small, but they waste no space, as nearly every sq foot is carefully laid out with either shelves or coolers. There's peg-board along most of the walls allowing for racks and racks of bagged spices, cellophane pouches of dried chillies, as well as small toys, lady's beauty accessories, and hardware items. The real gold however is in the coolers and on the shelves. Fully ripened avocados, multiple different styles and brands of queso fresco, multiple different brands of chorizo from Guatemala, Nicaragua, and Mexico, and fresh tortillas fill some of the cooler space. And on the shelves; tons of hot sauces, salsas, sofrita, masa mix, mole, more spices, imported snack foods, the entire range of Goya jarred and canned vegetables (most of which don't make it into the big regional grocery chains), coconut milk, etc. Along with the usual conveniences any corner store would offer (laundry soap, trash bags, boxed donuts, cat food) there's a literal plethora (that's right) of South and Central American kitchen culture and unique ingredients that just cannot be found anywhere else. Add in sugarcane versions of coke and pepsi (in glass bottles), a dozen kinds of Latin American sodas, fresh produce, and some incredibly friendly staff, and you cannot fail to find value in shopping at Azteca. Don't settle for the 'international aisle' at Stop & Shop, or Shaws - come to Azteca and get it from the people who know.

I plan on disputing it with the bank because it's not in the store listed and I didn't consent to it. There are not prices marked in the store so you don't know what you'll be charged. In the past they've done some tactics to get extra dollars out of people like charging 2.50 for a plastic bag at one time. They are busy and popular enough to not do these things.

My friend and I wound up in the overflow a little after 11am when the event started. I've always seen signs around when I'm driving in the area for other events or goods that they are selling. In the fall they seem especially popular as well for pumpkins and fall activities. The market area is brightly lit. Given the neighborhood, as everyone else has commented expect prices to be at a premium. The samples we tried at the Strawberry Festival were tasty. My favorite was the short cake. They also offered tickets at $1/ticket for some other paid offerings such as their ice cream which I skipped. They had someone dressed up as the Green Monster so that was a fun photo op for the family too. The event had a lot of staff so each station was moving. In fact one of the owners/managers came by seeing a long queue near the entrance by the pasta said we could walk around to the other stations since no one should be waiting in a line (ignore the line to park and get in haha.) I wouldn't necessarily go out of my way to visit but it's an option for local. I've also gone to Wagon Wheel which is smaller for seasonal / market type items.
