I will be brief: Arik and his team were the best! The proposal was very fair and their work was impeccable. No shortcuts. But more than all the above, Arik made great recommendations and provided consultation that made the project even better. His integrity was outstanding and his approach was as if he was doing the work for his own family. He was always respectful. I could not recommend his work more highly. I am only afraid that this recommendation might make him too busy for further work I may need.

He did it exactly the way we wanted by replacing the big, old jacuzzi tub with a beautiful, tiled walk-in-shower, new floor, and re-positioning the toilet to a better place. We wanted to keep our double sink vanity/cabinet and the big mirrors, but refreshed them with a good paint job. We love how it looks and works!! Arik and his team are very professional, competent and were a true pleasure to have in our house every day. They arrived on time, were always polite, answered all of our questions, made sure our sleeping area in the bedroom was protected from all the construction dust, cleaned up each evening before they left. Arik told us the job would take 2 to 2.5 weeks and it took exactly 2! The only thing left is the glass doors for the shower. Arik brings in the glass guy Rene who measures, discusses what we want, and then orders it for us. When the glass doors are ready to be installed, Arik will come back with Rene to oversee the installation. Arik's price was quite reasonable for the job, and he stuck with it!! There weren't any real unexpected challenges, but he did a few things extra to make sure the job was done right and did not charge any more than his original quote. We highly recommend Arik for any contracting work that you need, and we will definitely be using him again if and when we have another project. I am attaching "before" and "after" pictures.

They understood what we wanted and suggested design that would work well. They assisted in choosing cabinetry, flooring and counter tops that all worked well together. Tom came originally to scope out the construction details and what would need to be done ex. vent for stove through attic, sub panel for electric system. Once the construction started Eric was the lead carpenter. He supervised the whole project. He was great. He kept us informed about what was happening when. He also introduced us to each of the sub contractors who came to do work. All were pleasant and professional. They put protective coverings on floors and doorways to limit dust. At the end of each day they cleaned up and vacuumed the work area. When one of the cabinet doors came in the wrong size, there was no question about replacing it. One thing I really appreciated was that construction did not start until they had received all of the cabinets, flooring, countertop etc so work went smoothly and was completed without delays.

We worked with Alyssa to help design everything, something she has great skill and a true eye for detail. She didn't try to push products or oversell us. If anything, she provided some suggestions on how to lower cost (used remnants for the quartz countertop; suggested comparing costs to Home Depot). Once the design was finalized, I was extremely impressed with Eric, the contractor who installed the island himself and oversaw the other contractors. He was excellent communicating with me each and every day. He noticed some inconsistencies in the wood on the cabinet doors of the island and immediately ordered new one (he still installed the original and came a few days later with the new doors). Everything was just so professional. I haven't had too many experiences with contractors in the past, but every one I (and my family, for that matter) have had for the most part have been negative. The project doesn't start on time, finish on time, guys no-show for no apparent reason, etc. This was the opposite. Watch City had the chance to move up the timeline, which fit into my schedule. As a result, the project was done a week early. If you're looking to do any sort of work on your kitchen, definitely give Watch City a look.

Lana Christiano boasted herself of a cabinet design specialist and did the worst job ever. Even after repeated visits tomorrow house, she could not just register the RIGHT color of the cabinet and as a result screwed up the entire order. On top of that, Ultracraft being the worst cabinet supplier, supplied unfinished panels which we had to fight for, with no ultimate resolution. Lana put blame on Ultracraft, which out blame back on ordering inefficiency. And not one needle moved for kitchen view to accept their mistake. Instead Lana had the audacity to ask us that we should pay for half the price of the cabinets to get thee right color, because, in her limited mind, we made a mistake. We went to Tile in Style when we were renovating our bathroom on the recommendation of our…read morecontractor. He had sent lots of his clients there with good results. With the help of Inga, the owner, I found what we wanted, and told Inga I would order closer to the date of our project. We chose not to order all of the hardware and plumbing needs for the bathroom (shower head, fan light, etc) as it seemed very expensive and our contractor said we could get nice stuff at Lowe's. Inga called me several times, and wrote me several emails pressuring me to order everything as she said it was in stock and we did not want to chance the tile not being available. I told her we did not want the hardware, so she sent me a "discounted" price, which still came out more than what we paid at Lowe's. We did order the tile in advance and had it delivered. It turns out we had two issues that Inga refused to deal with. 1. We had a total of 6 boxes of extra, unopened tiles (2 diff kinds) that we wanted to return for a refund. She insisted that special orders are not returnable, no matter what. When I retorted that she had told me it was all in stock so therefore not a special order, she gave me a whole long explanation and still refused to accept 4 unopened boxes of the shower wall tiles that is very expensive. 2. When our contractor opened the mosaic tile for the shower floor, he was very upset to see that the paper backing was stuck to all the tile sheets and he had to spend a lot of time scrubbing them off. I wrote Inga about this and asked again for a refund for the 2 boxes of mosaic tiles we were not opening or using and that our contractor had never had these problems anywhere else. She refused again, explaining why the paper was stuck on, which doesn't help us! I wrote back explaining that I would let her re-think her decision and if by Monday she had not decided to accept the extra tile back and give us a refund then I would make sure I gave her terrible reviews everywhere I could, tell all my friends to boycott her store, and I would speak with an attorney about taking her to small claims court. Her email response was that she would exchange any unopened mosaic tile with the paper on the back (too late for that for us), but not refund anything, and I should stop harassing her! My contractor plans on never sending her business again. I plan on reporting them to the BBB and possibly taking her to small claims court. I have never had worse service from a business before! Thankfully we love our contractor and the bathroom will look great, even if we are out a LOT of money.

We struggled for over a year to find someone to help us retro-fit our lower cabinet and counter top for a new cook top. Then we found Paul! He made sure to present us with the best possible options and then executed it wonderfully. When I decided I needed doors for my office, Paul was the first person I thought of because I wanted the job done right and to look great. I am so happy with the outcome. I highly recommend him!

We contacted Paul at DesignWorks Company (DWC) to get a bid on renovating our bathroom. Paul got…read moreright back to us and arranged to come look at our (sad, dated) bathroom. He had some great ideas on how to enhance the space, showing us how we could easily have a bigger shower. We checked with a couple of other companies, but went with DWC because we liked Paul's responsiveness, ability to explain, patience, and flexibility. The bid wasn't the cheapest, but DWC did a fantastic job and was worth every penny! Paul walked us through every step, from design ideas to site logistics to explaining the process to connecting us with wonderful, sensible local vendors for tile, fixtures, paint, and window treatments. He and his crew are reliable, trustworthy, friendly, and CLEAN, besides being outstanding craftsmen. The subcontractors he engages are just as wonderful. They all have a good relationship with the city and took care of all permits and communication with the city. His ability to coordinate and adjust schedules kept the project humming along - it was finished in less time than anticipated despite a global pandemic hitting right at the end! He and his subs worked with the city to get everything signed off despite the city's shutdown. If you've read this far, I hope you'll let me share a story or two. How clean are they at DWC? They set up a staging area in a spare room with plastic walls and floor covering, and covered the stairs as well. One day I looked out the window to see them vacuuming the *driveway* at the end of a day when they were sawing outdoors. How good are they? They found a squeaky subfloor board on the landing and fixed it (yes, it cost extra) because they were worried it might warp the tiles in the bathroom. The subcontractors pointed out many times little details that made them want to work with DWC. How creative are they? They wanted to recess our medicine cabinet but found a pipe behind the wall. So they bumped out the wall there so we could have a recessed cabinet (which we hadn't even thought of, but which looks much nicer than one hanging on the wall). How quiet are they? I work from home, and they never disturbed me. Or our dog, for that matter, but she's pretty deaf. In fact, they were always happy to see her, which of course endeared them to me even more. How perfectionist are they? They fixed some dings made in the other rooms in the course of the work and even had the painter do the stairway, even though most of those dings were done by us. Finally, if you've read this far, the DWC crew and everyone who works with them are just plain NICE. It was a pleasure to have them work with us, and I would engage them again in a heartbeat.
