Beautiful Flooring. Disapointig customer service experience. I recently purchased and installed LVP I purchased from DEBSAN in downtown Natick. The flooring is beautiful but I am disappointed in the way a few of the personal interactions went. 1. I always do my own measurements so I can estimate costs while shopping.. The installer Debsan sent came up with a number that was 70 square feet higher than mine. I had another installer give me a quote and his measurement matched mine almost exactly. If their installer was this careless doing a measurement, what type of job would he do? I went with the second installer. DEBSAM has a strict no refund policy. If I had not done my own measurement, I would have paid for an additional 4 cases of flooring plus extra install costs, since they charge by the sq.Ft. That would have been hundreds of dollars more. 2. The flooring arrived 3 weeks before the project was scheduled to start. When I went to pick it up, I Was told by Valleri that a threshold was missing, but it would be in soon. On the Monday morning of the install, I emailed Valleri to find out about the threshold. I let the installer know we were missing the threshold and he suggested we could use one of the other transition pieces. He showed me what it would look like, I liked it and went with his suggestion. Valleri finally got back to me at the end of the day on Tuesday, after the install was completed by-the-way, and told me the vendor had been waiting for "Clarification" and had not sent the piece. I told her the job was now completed and I no longer needed it and asked for a refund. From her response, it seems either the vendor or Valleri made an error which resulted in me not recieving the piece on time. Since an error was made, I asked for an exception to their no refund policy. Valleri's response, "Sorry. Too late." As of the writing of this review, which is 4 days past the completion of the project, I still do not have the piece they are insisting I pay for. The piece cost $45.00 plus shipping.and the total sale was about $4,200.00. Now that $45.00 is not going to break me, but it felt like a total lack of respect and caring about their customer. You do better price wise at a big box store or online, but I paid a little more because I thought a small business like theirs would go the extra mile for their customer if something came up. That is just about the only thing a small business has gong for it over the cheaer discount stores. I was wrong. You may not get personalized service at the big box stores, but the chain stores and online vendors all allow you to return unopened boxes and unused finishing pieces. The flooring for this project cost 4,200.00. I purchased flooring twice before from them. One project cost 1,800.00 and the other was around 3,000.00. Had some carpet installed a few years ago. The installer was a man who had been at Debsan for quite some time so I felt confident with the install at the time. However, the installer just wanted to get the job done quickly and was very quirky, i.e. comments about how old my TV was and other negative things. Huh? So, now a few years later the carpet he installed is all stretched out. He also assured me the pad was the best they had. The carpet they installed feels like I'm walking directly on the plywood. Just had a big box store install another room for me and what a difference from what Debsan did! I can't recommend them at all for flooring of any type. read more

We have bought paint for 2 decades from Debsan-always incredibly helpful. Went to Debsan for floor covering-interested in hardwood vs carpet estimates. They could care less about customers for that part of the business. Rooms were measured by Debsan guy and when I went to store, there was no record. I was told to reschedule and someone would call for appointment. More than 2 weeks went by and never heard from them. Will be back for paint but no other services. read more

I was recommended to Debsan by a friend who felt really terrible about my experience there. They act like chickens without a head; no professional whatsoever. He had a similar experience after I did. We have an antique house so finding wallpaper that is appropriate to that period is difficult. Debsan has the most amazing selection of wallpaper books and when we explained what we were looking for, Kathryn was able to point us to a great selection. We found wallpaper that we love so much, we have not yet put up any artwork. The wallpaper is our artwork. I also love the fact that you can rent paint. We put a sample of our wallpaper on the wall and tried 3-4 different paint colors for the trim. It was a surprise that the one we thought was not right turned out to be the perfect color. read more

Stay away! As a new homeowner in Wellesley, I was really excited to support a local business instead of one of the big box stores. Big mistake! Here are the reasons I encourage you to stay away from Debsan: Extremely slow: I placed an order for carpet (just 2 stair runners) in March. It was finally installed in June. That's 12 weeks of waiting. Based on my experience with a variety of other vendors, this is not the norm. Horrible communication: I worked with Catherine. In mid-April, when I had received zero communication on when the carpet would be installed, I reached out for an update. She could not provide a solid date when the install would be done. I reached out again in early June, again for an update. Zero proactive updates from Debsan throughout this entire process. Inconvenient: I was informed on a Thursday that their installer would "maybe" come on Saturday, but that I couldn't be told anything definitive until Friday. Though I think the finished product looks good, you can get the same carpet at other stores - and they can offer a much better customer experience. read more

It was a little hard to get help with looking through wallpapers on a Saturday when they were busy, but when a staff member was finally available she was very helpful. I didn't end up purchasing wallpaper from them. I wish they still did the mini samples of Benjamin Moore Paint. Last time I did a rent a quart the paint was very old and chunky. However, I had a very good experience buying paint by the gallon there. They are very helpful and knowledgeable about the product. I had planned on buying Aura, but they actually recommended I go with the Regal, which was less expensive. Unfortunately they aren't open Sundays. read more

I have used Debsan for many projects at my home over the past several years. They installed wall to wall carpet in my finished basement, installed a remnant in my living room, helped me reupholster 2 chairs and i purchase a room darkening shade for my living room. All of these projects went smoothly with excellent customer service. Val is always helpful on the phone and Steve the installer is always on time and tidy. The rent a quart program is excellent when you are trying to decide on paint colors. I would recommend Debsan to anyone looking for a one stop shop for home decorating. read more

I ordered flooring from Debsan and had a great experience. Matt was very knowledgeable in helping to explain the pros and cons of the different flooring options. Most notably, I needed an additional order of flooring within two days of putting the order in. Usually it takes at least a week but Matt was able to arrange for a staff member to go to the warehouse to pick it up so I could have it in time for my contractor to install - he actually had it for me the next day!
