I love the store and Peggy was very helpful with getting me my paint. Also loved that they had a wide choice of fabrics and wallpapers and paint colors. However wouldn't it be great if Myers(if I got the name right) wouldn't be so condescending in helping. It's not my job to know different materials and my questions were returned with such a snobbish attitude. I almost wanted to laugh out loud back at him when he did that to me. No one needs a know-it-all attitude when asking for help. Imagine if you went to a specialist for something and they laughed at you for not knowing. Ha! I'm actually kind of aghast at the low reviews of this place, so I felt compelled to write my own. I've been redoing my parent's house (top to bottom), so I've become a regular here. I shudder to think of how many sample pots of paint I've bought..... In any event! Holly in the paint department has always been extremely friendly and helpful. So has Dustin (I believe that's his name). They waited on me one time when it was 5 minutes before closing, but they didn't whimper, they just gave me my sample pot. I've also had some experience with the ladies upstairs in the decorating department. Since I have my own design firm in San Jose, I am well acquainted with designers. I've never found anyone here to be rude, only helpful. I'm really mystified by the negative reviews. It's almost as if they have 2 different groups of staff or something. Let me start by saying I feel as though most people do not write reviews unless they feel as though they had a negative experience. I, however, am not one of those people! Staff is incredibly friendly and helpful! Everyone is very knowledgeable and the fact that you can get wallpaper and fabric here too just makes it a one stop shop so to speak. I find prices to be based on experience, you get what you pay for, and I think they are more than fair! Highly recommend to anyone, especially those of you who like me, know nothing about paint - there's more to it than you think! read more

I have been purchasing from C&T Paint and wallpaper for many years, and I have always loved the customer service, and the Benjamin Moore Paint. I walked in yesterday to match an old gallon I had for my living room, and was surprised to see they now sell California paints. I was worried about the quality and the match, but they exceeded my expectations! The California was cheaper than the Benjamin Moore, but covered well and matched perfectly. I tried to have a Benjamin Moore color made here, and they tried to do it based on color matching, and didn't come close. Then I couldn't return the paint because it was custom. Don't go to this place if you want Ben Moore color. Only go if you want California or Pratt&Lambert. read more

We used Coolidge Hardware (Watertown) when we lived in Belmont. Needed to find a new BM retailer now that we live in Natick. Have been using C&T as we've been decorating our bedroom. Once, they mixed us a paint which wasn't even close to the correct color and today they gave us sample cans which weren't completely mixed. It's a crap shoot as to whether you actually get the color you want! *Never* had any such issues at Coolidge Hardware and we used them for years... Oh, and C&T is more expensive to boot: $40/gal of Regal vs. $33 at Coolidge. read more

Opposite experience (mostly) as previous reviewer - it's been 3 years so the staff is either new or more practiced. C&T is expensive, but after my local Benjamin Moore retailer in Medway sold me a gallon of non-matching paint, C&T bailed me out. They matched 6 ten-year-old paint samples and showed a good deal of knowledge, plus great patience in arriving at the best match for a troublesome color - they adjusted and remixed three times. So I happily drive right by the local shop and go another 30 minutes to C&T. Wish they were cheaper but I'll pay the premium. read more

Super unfriendly, unhelpful and all around rude woman on the second floor in the wallpaper section. I couldn't believe how unwilling she was to help me and the nasty looks she was giving me. If you need wallpaper and want to be greeted by two extremely rude and snotty women who will severely mistreat you - then I highly recommend this place!! Instead of greeting me with a smile and asking how they could assist me - I was rudely, and I mean RUDELY ,treated - I was brushed aside and not helped whatsoever!!!!!! And - for a paint store - they sure could use a coat on the outside of their building!!!!!! Not a good representation at all... no wonder they went bankrupt. This Company is terrible. I went in to purchase paint. I provided them with the color name and color code. The salesperson came back with a paint that had a portion of the name and a totally different paint number. I challenged the salesperson when he brought out the paint with a totally different paint number. I was told don't worry it is the right color. Benjamin Moore changes their color numbers all of the time. Feeling good that I had pointed out the discrepancy and being told that I was being provided the right paint, I left the store and had my wall painted. When I came to see the finished wall I also came to see that it was not the right paint color despite what I was told. I went back to the store and told them they gave me the wrong paint and I was told again no, we gave you the right paint. I insisted that they go back and look at the original color and name that I had provided and the response was that I was right. The sales person went so far as to say that is going to be a problem for them. So they replaced the paint but I was told that they are not responsible for the labor. A policy that I would appreciate if I had just taken the paint and left the store without checking the paint information. However, I did challenge the paint and was told I was wrong. I trusted the paint specialist. By doing so, the paint store is making me responsible for their error. I am now responsible for having my walls repainted despite doing my job as a consumer and checking to see if I had the right paint. I went here because it was as convenient stop that day. The places I usually go to would cover the labor when the customer actually checked the paint before they left with it and pointed out the problem. I would advise you to go somewhere else for your paint purchases. I can assure you I will never step foot in here again. read more

Wish I could give zero stars. Unfriendly, rude women in the wallcovering department. They act like they're doing you a huge favor even speaking to you, and won't lift a finger to help you. I am a middle-aged, sophisticated (IMHO) woman, and I felt like Julia Roberts in Pretty Woman when the sales lady wouldn't help her! For no good reason, either, since it's not like their products are any higher quality than the average wallpaper stores. And guess what? You can buy everything they have online for much, much cheaper. I usually like to "go local" and support local merchants, but in this case I was thrilled to send my money into the internet abyss...especially if it means those rude women won't get any of it!! read more

I've been frequenting C&T lately for a rather large house project. Dustin who mixes paint and works on the 1st floor has been amazing, every time I go. He's passionate about color and really knows the best Benjamin Moore has to offer. I am color challenged and he recommended that I reach out to one of the design ladies for color picking help at my home. Each time I have interacted with Dustin he is incredibly helpful, personable, and you feel like you are with a real expert. As for the other reviews regarding the ladies on the 2nd floor, I will agree that I have been there and was surprised no one asked if I could use assistance. That said, when I did ask for help, Wendy seemed more than willing to lend a hand perusing wallpaper and lent me some samples for a few days. 5 stars for Dustin, 3 stars for floor 2. read more

The guy behind the paint counter was condescending, almost rude. The whole time he's questioning my honesty, and framing an expensive upsell with "when's the last time you bought paint", he's clutching the end of a greasy sausage sub in his dried-paint encrusted right hand. It was apparently his dominant hand, because he struggled to operate the register to retrieve pricing information with his left hand. He very transparently acted as if his talents were wasted doing what he was doing, and why wasn't he always eating sausage subs while casually advising master painters on the correct products to use on the frescoes of chapels in far-flung tropical dictatorships. We finally bailed before my head exploded, buying Ben Moore paint from a different store later that day. read more

Never, ever go to this store unless you want to mess up with your paint job! I wish I had read previous comments before I visited this store. I can't agree more with Kathie about the lady works there. The lady who "helped" me was so misleading that I have to pay my painter to redo the job. First time I went there, I got Benjamin Moore Regal flat paint for the walls and asked Regal semi-gross for trim. They gave me flat paint for trim instead. I had to drive 40 min back and forth to exchange the paint. My painter told me that the lower grade "Ben" should be good enough for the trim. Thus I returned Regal semi-gross paint and asked for "Ben" paint for my trim. Since the wall paint was almost run out, I also asked for another 2 gallon of same wall paint (Regal) I got first time. The lady worked there mixed lower grade "Ben" for me instead! Before checking out, I noticed the wall paint was different and asked for Regal. The lady told me that "Ben" is same paint as "Regal". Well, I thought she makes her living by selling paint and I believed her. After we painted the "Ben" in same room with "Regal", we found that "Ben" is not same as "Regal". The texture is so different and it is very easy to tell after the paint was dried. Expecially "Ben" was used to do the detail closed to ceiling and windows. I had to drive 40 min back and forth to the store to make a complaint. A guy worked there said unless I brought in the cans he can't do nothing about it. OK, I had to drive another 40 min back and forth to get the cans to the store. They mixed another 2 gallons of "Regal" paint for me for free. However, I have to pay my painter to redo paint job to fix the mess up. I also noticed that the lady returned my "Regal" semi-gross paint as flat paint which causes I did not get all my money back (short of $6). I don't deny that Benjamin Moore paint is a great paint. However, go to other place to get your Benjamin Moore paint. I don't feel like C & T Paint & Wallpaper Co care about its customers at all. read more

Avoid this unethical unprofessional business!!! The staff is extremely misleading, don't follow up and simply are looking to overcharge at any opportunity. Women upstairs in the "design center" shouldn't be customer-facing with their rude attitudes. All is good in the initial process of choosing fabrics and design, but the execution and follow up is non existent!!! I redesigned many homes across the country and this is not only the worst design experience, it was also the worst overall retail experience I have ever had. I had a very awful experience at C & T paint store in Natick....very similar to the first experience in the first review. I went there to buy two cans of navajo white paint. Being a Sunday, there weren't many stores open that sold Benjamin Moore, so I saw C & T as I was driving, and went in to order paint. The price was very expensive....$59 for regal. The woman convinced me that the lower grade paint Ben Moore would be the same color, it just might not cover as well. I listened to her advice and bought two cans of navajo white in the Ben Moore brand instead of the regal. I know navajo white, I've had it in my livingroom for a year and still have it in my hall. I recently bought a quart from another store to do touch up, and it matched the walls exactly. I left the two cans of Ben Moore paint that I bought at C & T at my home for my painter, and when I got home that afternoon, I was shocked. It wasn't the true color of navajo white...it was so much whiter. The painted did an extra coat figuring maybe it just didn't cover as well....still white white! I matched the cans from C & T to the hallway paint and then to the three or so cans I had in the basement, and all the cans were darker than the new cans I bought. It was obvious that C&T didn't mix the paint correctly as I had bought two separate cans of regal navajo white paint from two different stores and they matched exactly, but the Ben Moore can from C&T was so much whiter. I called the sales person at the store who instructed me to bring the paint back with my regal can, and if it was different, they would refund me. I got to the store ten minutes before opening, but forty minutes later, still no one came to open the store. After waiting so long, I finally left the paint outside the store with a note and went home. After when I talked to the manager, she insisted that the two cans of regal were wrong as her matched the paint chip much closer...like seriously...ridiculous...how could I have bought two different cans of regal navajo white from different stores and they match exactly, but her paint store is not the one that is wrong...it's the other two stores that were wrong. Seriously, she would not refund me for the paint. So, I wasted forty minutes waiting for her worker to open the store, $90 in paint, and the cost I paid the painter (which now it needs to be repainted.) The owner is wrong. Her company made a mistake, and I am the one who has to buy new paint and repay the painter to paint it again. I will never ever ever shop at that store again, and I'll be sure to tell anyone who I know never to shop at that store....really unprofessional and care nothing for customer service. If I could give negative stars, I would. I have never been more appalled by the utterly snobby attitudes and RUDE, RUDE, RUDE, RUDE women that work upstairs. I don't know who they think they are or WHY any business owner would ever allow customers to be treated that way. Whatever negativity you pick up from my review, multiply by 10, I almost can't find the words to express my disdain and distaste for the woman I interacted with today. I am a very approachable, openly friendly, pleasant person... I have NEVER been treated so poorly EVER by a stranger. Especially one who is supposed to be in the business of customer service. I walked into the store and specified to the front desk lady who most likely was the owner. I said my interior designer recommended me to come here because the paint is the best. Ancient Ivory 935 which she didn't bother to read my computer screen instead she choose to tell me to do it myself. I'm a small business owner myself and I feel the most important thing we can do as small business owners is customer service and ownership of customer request or issues. Apparently this business owner wasn't aware I was ready to buy 10 gallons of paint so rather I just received a text from my interior designer Celine from Chic Redesign to go get it at Home Depot. I wish this didn't happen because it may have to do with the fact I wasn't dressed in 200$ jeans or a polo polo. Lesson that should be learned is never judge anyone upfront because you never know what they will do for you later in life. read more

I was paralyzed choosing a color for my home exterior. I brought a photo and conferred with Lynn in the fabric & wallpaper section. (BTW, they carry all of the top brands you can usually only get through the Design Center if you have a decorator. Here, it's not "To The Trade Only") She was extremely helpful! She made excellent points about which color combo to pick, helping on options for body paint, trim and shutters. The nice man in the paint department mixed some samples and painted some boards for me for a nominal charge so I wouldn't be looking at a tiny chip to pick a color for my big house. I am thrilled with the results! It makes my house look new. Exterior colors have trends, just like interiors do and if you don't update, your house will look dated. I can't begin to tell you how pleased I am. Also, my painter is excellent and he buys all of his paint from C & T. He must feel like it's about more than price and more about VALUE. Kudos to LYNN!
