Good consumer service until you become an educated consumer... then you get ghosted. Large orders are routinely discounted in the open market, but apparently not here. I've been a customer for many years and have spent a lot of money on several patio sets, Including a Kingsley Bate teak set. I've been trying unsuccessfully to secure a part through this authorized dealer for three months. Basically I needed a nut and bolt. Season's Four is a RIP OFF!!!!!! On Fri, 05/21/21, I walked to seasons four to take a look at the plants. Their prices were more than double the prices of McQue and Mahoneys. They did have Coast of Maine mulch at 8.99/bag so I asked to buy 10 bags and come back to pick them up. The sales person assured me that they had plenty in stock. The next day, when I went to buy my mulch the price was increased $5/bag. I asked them to honor the price from the previous day ( e planning the situation) and the manager, sandy, looked at me like I had 3 heads. Don't expect to be treated honorably at Seasons Four. Popped into Seasons Four after a work meeting let out early. What a great decision! The place was nearly empty during the work day. The only staff inside seemed to be the cashier; outdoors at least 3 people were arranging pallets of new plants. Two offered help. They had a nice selection of annuals and perennials with various light/care demands. I did not see much by way of larger shrubs/trees. I was checked out in a breeze. Prices were similar to Mahoney's as mentioned by another reviewer. read more

I was turned onto this place by my SO. His family brought him here every year to pick out the family Christmas tree, and it looks as though we'll follow in the same tradition with ours. You grab a cart and wander thru aisles of trees with different color spray paint on them to identify their price. The trees range anywhere from $9.99- $100+. They have a wide variety of spruces and firs in every shape and size. AND they'll even wrap it for you which makes it much easier to tie to the roof of your car. Kids are of course very welcome and Seasons Four even have goats to feed and Elmo walks about looking for photo ops. Also a good place to get wreaths, ornaments, lights, ribbons, and what Christmas would be complete without a life size penguin??? Give yourself a while when you head down because it can get very busy!!!! read more

After looking online at many sites and reading lots of reviews, it became apparent that we needed to see the patio furniture in person. Online reviews about many websites (Wayfair, Overstock, etc.) selling patio furniture complained of quality issues and not what customers expected. We went into Seasons Four and were awed by their displays and selection. We needed a chaise lounge set and found exactly what we were looking for. Good at sales. Poor at service. This past spring, we had a nice shopping experience and bought furniture to fill our entire screened porch. We knew it would take a few months to get the furniture but that was OK with us. We were delighted when a few of the pieces arrived a month early! We've always wanted teak furniture and loved the idea the furniture should age well on our porch. When we got our new table, we couldn't wait to use it! HOWEVER, we noticed after a couple meals that the normal spills (drips of salad dressing, pizza sauce, etc.) wouldn't wipe up and remained on the table. We called Seasons Four. The person who answered didn't seem to care about the problem but told us we were supposed to not use it for four to six weeks, then we were supposed to seal it. Four to six weeks?!!! She offered no other help so my wife reached out to the sales person we worked with (who is also the owner, we believe). She told us that we didn't need to take four to six weeks (sounds like somebody needs some training) but that she certainly told us we should treat the furniture before using. Nope, Laura, you didn't. We absolutely would have remembered that. She told us we could sand out the stains and they could sell us the material to seal the furniture. She offered the name of a guy who could do this for us (it turns out he doesn't come to our town). We reached out to the manufacturer directly. They said all their teak furniture comes with use instructions. Why weren't these instructions given to us? Somebody at Seasons Four consciously decided to discard those instead of giving them to us. Even a $9 t-shirt comes with cleaning instructions. You'd think $10,000 worth of furniture made of a (as we now know) stainable wood would, too, right? The furniture is brand new and we already have to sand out stains. Had we known this we would have either not bought teak or would have taken care to use the teak seal first. Laura offered no real help and seemed more concerned about insisting she must have told us months earlier that we'd need to treat the furniture because she "always tells people". It's clear their's is not a culture of caring about customer satisfaction. It's about getting the sale. Not the type of business we like to support. And certainly won't again. read more

I ordered furniture in April of 2021. For some reason they forgot to order my sectional so that was re-ordered in July of 2021. They told me it probably wouldn't be in till March of 2022. I called in March and they said it should be in soon. I called in April and it still wasn't in. I called in May and they said due to supply chain issues it wouldn't be in till October. Why would I need outdoor furniture in October in Massachusetts? I understand all the shipping and supply chain issues. What bothers me the most is I called 5 times and they always gave me another excuse. Why couldn't they call me and tell me the problems? Their customer service is awful. If there is a problem getting materials shouldn't they have contacted me? This was not a cheap order. Very disappointed. If you are looking for good service and furniture go to Paines Patio in Pocasset. I ordered a sectional and got it in two weeks. read more

A beautiful high-end gardening center and outdoor furniture store. However, I had a very unpleasant customer-service experience. I had ordered a table on behalf of my grandmother. It was a complicated order that was done over the phone. I was not told that the order would be a special order and that a return would involve a 50% restocking fee. A receipt was sent that explained the restocking fee but my grandmother either did not receive it or lost it. This scenerio is completely reasonable except that when I called to inquire about returning the item and explained the situation, I was treated very poorly. The woman I spoke to was rude and hostile. I had suspected the return would not be easy and stated I was simply inquiring about the return policy but was treated as though I was asking for her first born. The policy is not unreasonable. Their attitude when I inquired about it was. If my grandmother is going to pay $400+ for a small side table the least they can do is hire folks with manners. read more

Bought a few hundred dollars worth of plants back in April at the Garden Center and one of them didn't make. I pulled it and brought it back (mostly to make sure I got the right thing to replace it). No guarantee - I get that - but the staff was really uninterested in helping me. No, "oh that's too bad" or "when did you buy it" or "where was it planted"? I was able to find a replacement. It's getting to the end of July - all this stuff will be going on sale in a few weeks - thought maybe they would knock a few bucks off the replacement. Nope. Missed opportunity for me to be writing a good review about how helpful and understanding they were. Have my new plant but won't be back. read more

Seasons Four provided excellent guidance on the selection and also paid close attention to the order so that we received the shipment on time for a large graduation party. I first learned of Seasons Four through the annual WGBH auction, as they donate a sizeable gift certificate each year. We enjoyed browsing the teak selection, although the sales staff was unsure where the items were made (we are die-hard buyers of "Made in the USA"). The furniture is on the upscale side and judging from Craigslist resales of the same brands, is able to hold its value. We were unimpressed with both the quality and quantity of the flora selections. Considering the lack of selection and quality, the prices for plants were high. read more

Super fun place! I have not been here for all of the seasons, but I know know they have perfect christmas trees and holiday decorations. They have animals that you can feed - llamas and goats. This is great if you have kids with you! The shop inside has furniture, decorations, and other knick-knacks. Seasons Four maybe best known for its upscale outside furniture and dining accessories and has a very impressive holiday season selection, but also has a medium size garden center well stocked with planters, fountains, statues, and well chosen popular, reasonably priced plants of all types, but not house plants Unlike some other garden centers, it is not hard to find a helpful person to guide your selections process with out any pressure to make a quick decision. Its clientele consist most often of young families with children and dogs and the elderly people who find the exploration of available plants enjoyable. Being a landscape designer and asked often where to go to look at plants and get some advice in a relaxed environment I often recommend Seasons Four on the bike trail in Lexington and good parking most of the time. read more

We went here based on the many years of Globe advertising to comparison shop some prices from another outdoor furniture store. We were met by a salesman, Dick Burke. He was most personable and did not hover. After looking at the comparison items and finding none that appealed to us we saw a Gloster teak set. It showed a set of four chairs, ottoman, and low Kingsley Bate table. The sign advertised a price for five items but listed the six pieces above. We spoke with Mr. Burke, did the addition on the calculator, and noted the price for the individual six pieces added up to the total, with the sale discount, that was printed on the sign. We left to think over the price since it was much more than we had intended when we arrived. We returned four days later after doing more comparison for the Gloster set, with the Kingsley Bate table. We looked for Mr. Burke and indicated our desire to purchase the set we had seen. We noted the sign had been changed to reflect the same price without the listing of the individual pieces and now only reflected five pieces. The ottoman was no long part of the set and the price was the same. Thankfully we had the Gloster catalog that Mr. Burke had given us with the price notations. He never hesitated and agreed to honor the price as quoted earlier. The sale was a direct result of his salesmanship, professional demeanor and ethical treatment of a customer. We anticipate the positive experience will continue through our scheduled May delivery. read more

We had a very positive experience when shopping for our new outdoor furniture. We knew from the start that we wanted to purchase high quality furniture that would last 10+ years and not assemble yourself furniture from the big box stores. We started at a different but store but lack of stock/selection lead us to Seasons Four. First and foremost, yes the furniture is pricey but you get what you pay for so do your research. You are also paying for expertise as they only deal in outdoor furniture. We were guided through our purchase by a knowledgeable associate that helped us build our own "custom" set mixing chairs and a table by different manufacturers. We custom ordered our umbrella as well after she helped us look at the different pole options in different light and isolate the best type fabric for our use. The delivery charge is fair and they will even set up the furniture for you. Aside from the expertise and quality, the store is merchandised quite nicely and is filled with great accessories and inspired displays that spark ideas for your own home! If you are looking for high quality furnishings that won't need to be replaced in five years and are willing to pay for such quality this is the place to go! read more

A business should be measured, first and foremost by the customer service they provide. Last year (post-Christmas) we purchased a lit Christmas tree at a deep discount. When we went to set it up this year, it was clear that whoever packaged it did not do a great job. Joanne, who DID do a great job, responded to an email after I felt stonewalled when trying to resolve the issue on the phone. She quickly arranged to swap a new tree, for the less than spectacular floor model. We bought custom outdoor cushions for our custom outdoor furniture there a number of years ago and had a wonderful experience and splurged on a number of other things for our new construction, so now that the cushions have worn out we thought we'd go back. The help couldn't have been more disinterested and less helpful if they had worked at it. They literally tossed a bunch of swatches at us and pretty much told us they didn't think they could be of assistance - and they're right - they can't be because we are never going there again. I was just at Seasons Four to buy 6 of the large square cast iron planters for my garden. It's Friday so there were not a lot of shoppers. Actually more employees than shoppers. These planters weigh at least 80 lbs, and I loaded two on a cart and went to try to check out. An employee was about 5 feet away, and didn't offer to help me pick this up and put on the cart. I went to check out, one person was in front of me with one cart of flowers. The man trying to check her out couldn't find any of the prices, he went in and out of the little hut with the cashier for each individual plant. I waited in line about 20 minutes and the usual check out lady walked up and gave him a code number. Same time another male employee walked up and started working on the lady' cart of flowers and trying to help check her out. The check out lady asked if she could help but the man gruffly said he had it. She walked away then asked if anyone needed any help other than checking out. She looked at me and I replied to her that I was waiting to check out. The gruff man yelled "we'll get to you!", staring at me like he wanted to pounce. I told the lady there were a lot of places to buy planters without being yelled at. I tried to talk to a manager to let him/her know there was an issue outside, unsuccessfully. I recently made a visit to Seasons Four after viewing their tv commercial. The store was lovely, however, I found the sales staff unfriendly, not helpful and disinterested. I was prepared to purchase several pieces of outdoor furniture but after my brief encounter with a salesperson, I ended up walking out the door never to return. After being in the store for over 30 minutes, not one saleperson seemed to be around. Finally, I saw a salesperson who was assisting a customer and another salesperson who was just standing around staring aimlessly at nothing specific. I politely asked the unoccupied saleswoman for assistance and was rudely brushed off with a curt reply. Considering the store's reputation for quality products, I would expect the same quality of service from the staff. read more

I absolutely love this store as it has been part of my wife and mine's Christmas tradition for the last 30+ years to buy our Christmas tree, add a bit more to our growing Christmas lights for the outside of the house as well as adding a few new wonderful ornaments for the tree. The staff is wonderful, many of whom have been working there for many years so they always remember us our kids names and they genuinely seem interested in how my family is doing whether I am just there to browse or make a purchase...I just bought a new patio set this past summer which replaced the furniture set we bought from them about 25 years ago. Was it a little on the expensive side? Yes. But you are not going to buy this kind of quality on the cheap. Are they trying to appeal to the Lexington crowd? No they are trying to appeal to the crowd who wants durable furniture that will last you over 20 years. You won't find that kind of quality furniture at KMart or Sears.
