A key to business success is setting customer expectations and having good customer communication. This business did neither. I called for information on Hunter Douglas shades and had a good talk with a woman here, after which we made an appointment for her and a technical person to come by the house a few days later to discuss details about how the mechanized shades work, and look at colors and fabrics.. About five minutes before the expected arrival that day I had a message saying "we" are running late but "we" expect to be there within 15 minutes. About 30 min later though, the doorbell rang and a man stood there. He did not introduce himself but his shirt was labeled "Hunter Douglas". I asked where the design person was with whom I had spoken and who had sent me that message. He didn't know. He came in and I asked if we should wait for her. He didn't know. No attempt to wear a mask or ask if I preferred he do so, and as he walked into the living room I saw he was wearing dirty tennis shoes as he walked on our Oriental carpet--no attempt on his part to remove or cover them. He was very terse (I could not tell if he was shy or upset about coming alone) but did the measuring. I asked what was going on, as I was expecting a designer to come with color books, fabric etc. He offered he had a color book in his car and could go get it, but I had expected to interact with a designer. He was in and out within five minutes. I called the shop, and another employee explained my contact was with a customer, and then, most oddly, proceded to explain to me what this other customer was asking about and was going to order. I stopped her as I wasn't interested at all in another person's order, said I had had a message that "we" were coming and who was this solo quiet man who turned up without ever giving his name even. I asked for my contact to call me back but was told they close at 2p and she would be leaving (heaven forbid they return a call past 2p apparently). I got the email address and sent off an email saying I found this all very unprofessional. I very well could understand running late with a client, but then why not call to say that and ask if we could re-schedule? But sending out this man alone, an employee who clearly was not at his best when speaking directly with customers and who didn't know what was going on even with his own workmate, was unacceptable. She had my email and phone number, but now five days later still no response. Very unprofessional and apparently don't like being called on it! This place is wonderful! I stopped in today to inquire about window treatments, purchased from Home Trends many years ago, which now require some repair. I didn't even know if they could be repaired or would have to be replaced. I was warmly greeted by Lynn, who assured me the window treatments could definitely be repaired and would not need replacement for a long time. She scheduled a repair appointment for next week. There is nothing better than being served by folks that really care about the customer! Regardless of who you meet there the service is impeccable. I purchased 5 sets of Hunter Douglas blinds about a year ago. They came to the house to measure the windows. Helped us to choose the best style and color and placed the order all for a very reasonable price. Once they arrived, Neil came to the house and installed them. After some ice dams leaked onto one set I needed to have it repaired. Home Trends handled the return and repair for me and offered to deliver and reinstall. Its great to have people that will take care of you before, during and after the sale. I will return to them whenever I need blinds or window treatment. I recommend them highly. read more

Amazing customer service! The staff at this location is fantastic. I went in with an issue with a Hunter Douglass blind and left in under ten minutes with it repaired. Their selection is spectacular with all different types of blinds, shadings, and curtains. There are multiple fabric options, function and style options, and even some that work with apps to be controlled via iPhones or other devices. I contacted Home Trends to learn if they could repair my Hunter Douglas shade rather than self-ship the shade to Hunter Douglas repair site in OH. Lynn Angel arranged the entire process and could not have been more accommodating. I reside about 50 miles from the store so she arranged to have the shade repaired while I waited on-site. I worked with Lynn and had a great customer experience. She was very helpful and forthright throughout the entire process. She came to our house and made suggestions to the type of blind to get, as well as colors. She set up a time for someone to come measure our windows and priced out numerous options for us. We ended up ordering 18 blinds and they were installed pretty soon after that - about 2 weeks. We had a great experience and definitely recommend Home Trends. Friendly, helpful service. I needed a blind repaired that had been made by a manufacturer no longer in business. Home Trends was happy to help me even though they don't usually service this brand. The response from Home Trend to my review is not true. They never told me there would be a fee to install this back and in fact told me they would take care of this as a courtesy due to the purchase I made. The fee was only mentioned after Lynn argued with me and then hung up on me. As I said in my original review they DID tell me about the charge for sending the rod to the manufacturer and I agreed to pay this. In my last conversation 2 days ago they told me that Neal, the owner, would contact me the very next day to discuss this which was yesterday and I still have not heard from him the day after. They seem to want to argue the point and defend themselves instead of just installing the rod and curtain and leave this as is. They offered to take care of this issue because I had purchased 6 items from them costing $2200. I paid directly to them on time with no problem. They took quite a bit of time to write an extensive response to my review but don't call me back to resolve this with me. This has really got way out of hand simply because Lynn got so angry so fast. Do people really want to work with a company that would spend an extensive amount of time responding to a review instead of simply calling me back as agreed to and talking to me.
