I have a great time coming to Home Sense to browse their selection and I often get inspired by it too. They have a lot of classic staple pieces which is great, but I love how they also have super unique and colorful pieces too. It's very similar to Home Goods but slightly nicer and more expensive (understandably). I most recently came to check out the Christmas decor with my friend and we both left with a basket full of merchandise. We had so much fun going up and down the aisles! I was first introduced to Homesense when I lived in DC for a while and ventured into one in the VA suburbs; it was several years ago, and I still remember the massive aisle with every decorative pillow I could imagine. Around here, I checked out the Westwood location and it was also well-stocked and organized, and the Framingham location definitely has all the qualities of the other stores. The physical space has more of an "industrial" feel to it, but if you need a sofa or something else that is too large for Home Goods, this is your place. They also have multiples of items, so if you see one chair in a Home Goods and need two, you might luck out here. They also have all of the kitchen, linen and decorative items you need, and nice employees as well. Stop in when you are in the area and check out this store along with your Marshall's and TJ Maxx shopping! read more

Walked into home sense and right at the entrance their were three managers two males one female having a discussion where one the one male was berating the female manger right on the sales floor as you walk in very unprofessional then I went down the furniture area where two more employees were have a loud discussion and one called the other a stupid manager very hostile environment I have never felt more uncomfortable in a ret store then I did that time. I was so hopeful - but, eh, I was really quite underwhelmed. The display at the entrance to the store was *especially* unattractive - a giant moose and some seriously ugly made in China furniture. Who is doing the merchandising?! UGH. Anyway.... It's basically a large Home Goods. The furniture dept is larger but it's the same product as Home Goods - very low-quality. Some selections are oddly smaller than HG or TJ Maxx (eg, shower curtains and kitchen utensils) and others are larger (carpets and lamps). Bottom line - I would not rush back unless I needed a carpet or a lamp. read more

This place is like an app date - Hot and much anticipated until you actually see it in person... I was first introduced to the place by Chronicle and was so excited to go visit. It seemed great when I got there. The staff were super friendly. The selections seemed overwhelmingly abundant, very modern and eclectic. BUT, as I began to look more closely at the items, many were scratched, bent, dented, or otherwise missing a piece or two. AND when I turned the price tags, the prices were of what you would expect at a regular retail store, not at some discounted warehouse as they claimed to be. The staff, as friendly as they were, were also not very careful in handling the items. On my first trip, I bought 2 large chrome coffee tables with glass tops at $600. They held it for me so I could bring the van to pick them up. When I got back a week later, they were apparently stored in the back somewhere, unwrapped with finger prints and dust all of the chrome bases and glass tops. I thought, "fine, I'll just wipe them up at home". But, when they were helping me load them into the van, the staff carelessly scratched the glass top. The manager was willing to take 10% off if I brought back the receipt (I'd lost the receipt). Also, when I got them home and cleaned them up like they were some flea market finds, I noticed there were more scratches on the tops than the one I'd seen the staff made. They were too large and heavy to lug back to the store, so I guess I'll just have to live with them. On my second trip, I bought a $150 wall hanging that was about 6' tall. I'd asked for help, but no one came so I ended up lugging the thing to the register myself. I'd noticed the edges were kinda scratched, but I thought I could live with it because the size and look of the hanging was perfect for my receiving room. But, when I got it home, I noticed there were also dents all over the face of the item. I'll have to lug it back to the store and return it! Over all, very disappointing and not a destination store as it's branded itself to be. I mean, I supposed if you were living in Framingham with nothing better to do with your time on a Sunday afternoon, you could take a trip there to see what they have. But, you shouldn't bother if you lived in the city and you were looking to get some good deals to decorate your condo or country house. It's kinda like meeting a hot guy from the burbs on Grindr. I wouldn't bother driving all the way there just to meet him because I'd probably end up being disappointed and paying for my own meal... read more

I am loving the dishes from Europe at crazy low prices. Portugal, Italy, Turkey, I have purchased a big variety. But - I have one complaint. Why is the world's toughest glue used on the price tags ? Who is going to swap tags on a 2.99 bowl ?? Please adjust to a cooperative and easlily removable adhesive. I am halfway through "Goo be gone" but it actually takes 2 goo-gone cleanings because this adhesive is KRYPTONITE ! save it for your over $50 items please !!! read more

I did not care for this store at all. One of this, one of that.... One step up from a garage sale. The store was very busy and the other shoppers seemed slightly frenzied. The merchandise looked eclectic and cheap (but it is not that cheap). Maybe I am just not a TJX company fan. Their stores include: T.J. Maxx, Marshalls, Sierra Trading Post, HomeGoods, and now HomeSense. There is a formula here that I just don't appreciate. read more

Definitely part of the tjmaxx brand family. Lots of items from China, but there are a good portion from India and the US as well. The items that are trying to replicate Arhaus almost hit the mark (but not quite the same quality), at half the cost. For a lighting fixture, I would be totally fine with this. For a piece of furniture, probably not. I ended up buying a large artwork. I love it! It was $100. The canvas alone would cost that much (if not more) if bought on its own. You'll have to dig through mass manufactured China items to find cute things, but they're there. I like bargain shopping and was surprised at the low price point for many large items. read more

Experienced HomeSense for the first time today in their first US store here by the TJX home base in Framingham. This new store is located in Shoppers World between Nordstrom Rack and Sierra Trading Post and even while HomeGoods is just a few blocks away, it still is busy as can be. This is part of the TJX stores which now own four storefronts in Shoppers World (TJ Maxx, Marshalls, Sierra Trading Post, and Homesense), with their corporate office behind this mega shopping complex on Route 30. Homesense is also scheduled to open another one of their "famed" stores in Westwood (where I live) later this year. HomeSense has just entered the US and is very popular throughout Canada and Europe. Anyway, onto this specific store. This place is pretty large for a home decor store and seems very spacious due to the high ceiling. Especially in comparison to the HomeGoods on Route 30 where there's very little extra space and it seems congested all hours of the day. Layout is fabulous (with the exception of the weird location of the cash registers) and the selection throughout the departments also seemed interesting and unique. A spin on HomeGoods for sure. Furniture department was spectacular and throughout, prices seemed extremely fair and anything I looked at was priced less than anticipated. Some of the towels and linens and stuff like that seemed overpriced, but overall prices seemed pretty good. Staff were great too. Kendall at the register was super friendly, kind and helpful throughout my visit to the store. She was efficient and very knowledgeable about the store even though they have been only open for two days. Everything seemed organized and clean, which is to be expected of a brand new store. Shelves fully stocked too! Overall, I was impressed with HomeSense and would return to it over HomeGoods any day. Can't wait for Westwood to open up. 5 stars. read more

It was a field trip to visit the first HomeSense store located in Framingham. My shopping pal and I took the hour and a half ride to investigate and we truly enjoyed the beautiful set-up of the store, the numerous amount of rugs, and the array of lighting fixtures displayed in this new establishment. It is very much like our HomeGoods store and I would not necessarily take the trip to visit again soon unless I happened to be in the area. Interesting, but not intriguing... read more

Having always liked HomeGoods, I was super excited to check this store out when it opened. Unfortunately I found it very disappointing. It has a lot of the same items as a HomeGoods but more expensive. I was disappointed with ratio of things too, there's seems to be a lot of tabletop and nick nacks and not much else. I live down the street so I've given them a chance a handful of times, and each time I live disappointed and without buying anything because the few things I would have bought are ridiculously priced. I'm giving the store three stars more so because I didn't see the big difference between HomeSense and Homegoods. It might have had a bit more furniture, but the rest of the inventory (quality and quantity) was on par with Homegoods. If you don't live nearby, I wouldn't say it's worth the drive. Plus, you can't return HomeSense items at Homegoods, even though I'd guess you could find the same stuff at both stores. read more

I LOVE HomeGoods so was very excited when I heard about HomeSense. And, boy, did I hear about it. There was a ton of hype online and through emails. Even my friend in Georgia had heard about it. I took a day off from work, drove 1-1/2 hours and met my sister there (also a huge HomeGoods fan). What a disappointment!!! It's not that much bigger than my local HomeGoods. I will say the rug and lighting selection was quite large. Other than that, though, certainly not worth a long drive. I guess if you live close by it's worth checking out. I'll be sticking to my local HomeGoods. I really don't know what TJX is trying to accomplish here. HomeSense is just not different enough from HomeGoods to merit a different name IMO. read more

Maybe you do need to be a TJX regular but it was pretty good. They did have a nice selection and found the employees willing to help-maybe didn't know everything off the top of their heads but at least got the answer for you. It was a little messy but not horrid and given it's a new store with lots of curious folks, they were doing pretty good. Registers are in an awkward place but there was a greeter at the door. I think TJX needs to advertise their perk program more. Never knew they had one til I looked up this new store and I shop at Home Goods ALL the time. Also wish they had a computerized system to look up a product. Needed 3 pairs of curtains and they only had 2. Wish they could have looked up by the stock number to see other stores, especially since they don't get lots of one item. read more

Great new concept store from TJX! It's sort of like Home Goods but with more furniture options and a few other differences. We all know that each of the TJX stores have some overlap, so of course it has some similarities but it has its uniquenesses too! I went on opening day and then Again about 2wks later. I'm considering going again this weekend. It's about a 40min drive for me and I'm doing it with a 1yr old with me. We've had a positive experience every time! Bought a few things each time. Always something different in stock. I'm also extremely impressed with the excellent customer service as well as the diversity in employees! Keep up the good work TJX! The staff is all friendly and very pleasant, and the store is clean and organized. One cashier had a very difficult customer and she handled him with grace and kindness. She was beyond professional even though he was being a jerk. Fun selection of unique merchandise for every style and price point. Found things I'd never see elsewhere. I will say, if you see something you love, BUY IT! Quantities can be limited and you'll be sad if you miss out on a special piece. I am so disappointed after driving an hour to get there...it's just a more expensive Home Goods! They should focus on furniture, lighting and rugs...instead they have pet supplies, food and kitchen goods which take up a big part of this store. Homegoods on steroids. Instead of 50 candles to choose from, you now have 500. Warehouse setting. Missing a few Homegoods dept like children's and maybe pets but tons of lamps and rugs. Most 'stuff' appeared to be made in China. If you live local, it is fine but certainly not worth the trip if any distance. read more

I liked the variety of items and prices seemed reasonable. However the place was a complete circus. Store employees were disorganized and frazzled given the grand opening weekend. I was interested in purchasing a lamp, so I asked for assistance to get it off the floor. As I was speaking with an associate at the check out lane, I noticed damages on the base of the lamp. I mentioned this, and the associate said I could ask a manager for a discount. Conveniently, a manager, named Dennis, came over, and barged into the conversation demanding that the associate come help him. The associate agreed to help after we were done, but also took the initiative to request the discount for me. The manager bent down and rubbed his hand over the much visible scratches on the base, stood up, and said we wouldn't give a discount for that, and proceeded to talk to someone else. I called his name to regain his attention to what we were discussing. I asked if he knew of a way to fix the damage, and to explain why a discount wouldn't be provided to which he rudely responded "we don't want to set a precedent for giving discounts". His tone was outrageous. Then he looked away again. I didn't believe the answer given the parent store owner, TJ Maxx, has already set that "precedent". I think Dennis was very subjective in his response and frankly in a bad mood. I was truly shocked by his behavior as it was the most condescending and unprofessional that I've experienced at any TJX store. At that time, i decided to leave the store without making a purchase because of how I was treated/spoken to. What Dennis didn't know is that the discount was a minor factor in my decision. It would've been a nice to have but I was going to buy regardless, until he treated me so poorly. Dennis should really repeat customer service 101 training. The store associates did the best they could. I would suggest visiting on a weekday when perhaps there are less customers which will give space to shop the whole store. read more
