We had some items that we have been meaning to return, so we headed over to the Container Store in Natick/Framingham! We were not sure if we could bring these items to this store or not, since we purchased from another location. Luckily, our return was successful & the lady who helped us was very kind. What a waste of my time. Placed an order and waited a month for the pickup date, the date came and it changed to delayed with no ETA, called and was told tomorrow it'll be ready. Called again the next day since it still said delayed and they told me it was unavailable and not coming, and they can cancel and refund me. Huge waste of my time, mind you I paid for it a month ago. You'll see thousands of ways to do all those things in hundreds of different colors, sizes, and ways to do them. We thoroughly enjoyed our visit to the massive Container Store in the Natick Mall complex. We didn't exactly walk in with anything specific in mind to buy, but we sure walked out with five things. So what did we buy? We dropped $50 on: 1) A lucite coffee station organizer to store our creamers and Splenda/sugar packets and stirrers that greatly improved the aesthetics of our kitchen counter. 2) A spiffy brushed nickel paper towel holder to replace the old tired wooden dowel one I bought at Pfau's hardware in West Hartford a zillion years ago. 3) A white plastic toothpaste tube and double toothbrush station, where everything stands up vertically. It improves the efficiency of what we store on the bathroom sink countertop. . 4) Along the same theme, I bought a silicone rubber razor holder to improve the efficiency of what and how we store things in the medicine cabinet. I used to store my razor horizontally on a shelf in the medicine cabinet, which really was a waste of valuable shelf space. But this thing is designed to store your razor vertically, in the same way you store a rake or a shovel on your garage pegboard. The only problem I discovered was that the gizmo was designed to work on certain surfaces (tile or glass), not the melamine surface of the medicine cabinet's sides. A strip of Velcro to the rescue fixed that. 5) And lastly, for my gadget loving California son, I got a cool toothpaste tube roller that stands your toothpaste up vertically and has an internal roller that "helps you get every last drop out of any tube". I'm a fan of TCS and live near the Chestnut Hill location, but I was in the mall already and thought I would stop here to pick up two small things I needed for a guest bathroom. It was a Wednesday morning at 11:10am, so the store was not busy. I roamed all over the store looking for the bathroom section, but there was no sign for it (hint: right side of store by the closet section). I walked all around the store - starting on the right and walking right by that aisle - and when it made it back to the front I started searching again. There were several employees, none even stopped to smile and/or say hello. I finally found what I was looking for, and the best part of the experience was that just before I walked into the store I received an email about the entire store being 30% off. Checkout was odd, no hello and the girl started checking me out on their handheld device by asking for my email address. After spelling it (15 letters) and her attempting to scan a few times, she said it wasn't working so she needed to use the register instead. OK, whatever.... and entering my phone number on the screen was much easier. Best part was 30% off, everything else was blah. read more

This is the place to go for great organizing products, of course. Some brands are their own line and several others are foreign imports with smart designs. My personal favorite is the poppin' line, which I recommend if you like a modern pop of color. Astonishingly bad customer service. We've spent a ton of money at this store over the years. Recently we moved to Boston so started ordering online for delivery instead. Not surprisingly some of the rather delicate plastic drawers arrived broken and a sweater box came delivered with a giant hole in it. We figured no problem, these guys are customer oriented and will just replace them. My wife took the broken units (we bought dozens) to the store for an exchange and at first, they refused to take them back. After making a scene and talking to the manager they agreed to an exchange only to inform her that they were out of stock. After so much aggravation and frustration, we simply accepted a refund instead and will find somewhere else to buy from. What on earth kind of strategy is this place taking? They charge 2-3x what you can get similar items for and then treat their customers this way. They will really suffer because my wife used to spend over $1K/year with these guys, I'm kind of secretly happy that they were so bad she won't go back... I stopped in to the container store in Framingham on Monday afternoon. I was excited to get inspired to create an art room for my self. I was really surprised that the person at the front counter looked up at me as I entered and never said hello. I spent a half an hour walking around and was passed by a few employees pushing carts of merchandise and not one employee said hello or needed help. I literally was just ignored. This was my first time in the store and I have been so excited to check the store out. I found a container I really liked and was perfect for what I needed. And I found a cute clothes hamper. My experience was on the check out. The cashier was very sweet and very cordial. Than I looked down and saw red on the tissue paper she was wrapping my container in and she said she cut her finger. I saw the cut and I even said she might need a band-aid. She just kept ringing me up and believe me I would have been ok if she stopped to make sure she was ok.....I even asked if she was ok and she said she was fine. Well when putting the clothes hamper in my car there was her blood on the top and side of it my off white hamper. Ugh! That gave me yucky feeling in my stomach. I was really upset. It was not like there were tons of customers for her not to take care of her hand or finger or whatever had blood coming from it. As you guessed I came home and sterilized my new hamper. But please any customer service rep if you cut yourself please stop and get a band-aid it is really your bodily fluids and I and other people don't want your DNA. read more

So disappointing... GREAT service... until you have to exchange or return :-(. I recently took advantage of the Elfa sale, VERY excited about getting some organizing done for the closets in my house. I started with a smaller closet. The people in the Elfa section could NOT have been more helpful when I was designing and purchasing the various elements of my closet system. All good. I asked, and they assured me, multiple times that it was NO problem to take it home, try it, if any pieces don't fit or aren't what I needed, no problem to bring them back, just have to be undamaged and brought back within the next 4 months. So far, so good. It took us a couple of weeks to get our closet together, and we realized that some of it was just wrong or needed to be changed - some issues were the fault of the designer at the store and some were because we changed our minds. I talked to the people in the Elfa section, still no problem, helped me figure out what we needed and what we didn't - all good. I brought back the pieces I did not need/want, we had not cut them/scratched them/damaged them in any way. I also brought back the itemized receipt from my first purchase, to help figure out what the trade-ins would be. All good, I was feeling really excited about it and so glad that I had finally pulled the trigger on the closet re-org. UNTIL I got to the cashier at the front to check out. I dealt with 2 people at check out because 1 guy just walked away. Second person, I was hoping would be cheerier, but not a chance. They were sullen, rude, ignored my questions, made no eye contact... needless to say it was shocking to experience this at the Container Store, icon of smart customer service. I wonder if maybe they have a policy like some old-school retailers that if you take a return, it goes against your sales for that day? Would be surprising that Container Store would do something like that, but the treatment I got was consistent with such a policy. Our long national nightmare is still not over, not by a long shot. Another hot tip to the Bucket Hotline sent me out on a wild goose chase to the Natick Mall. Mah bucket iz irreplaceable! It is blue, and haz many many fish in it! OH BUCKET, NOTHING COMPARES 2 U!!! NO OTHER BUCKET COULD EVAR TAKE UR PLACE!!! The Container Store is either a sad commentary on the ADD riddled state of perpetual chaos the world finds itself in so dire need of combatting, or a godsend for the hopelessly disorganized. Neurotic organized crazies congregate at The Container Store to find the ultimate bliss! Crates, baskets, under bed bins, hangers, the elfa closet system, garment bags, itsy bitsy tiny boxes, plastic drawers, office accessories, and so much more! My favorite finds? A "to go" cereal cup which keeps milk cold in the bottom and cereal dry on the top, until you are ready to combine and eat with included spoon. I also love their recycled plastic bath and office accessories in funky colors and their huge selection of unique gift wrap. The staff is friendly and helpful. Great location. Yes, most of it is ridiculously overpriced, but I have such wonderful fantasies of finally being organized and The Container Store helping me in that quest. Elfa line is awesome and the 30% sale in the beginning of every year enabled us to invest in office shelves in our old place (which we sadly no longer own). What is not to love about a place that organizes your life in every way imaginable. Like a stationary store, I lose myself here. I become so distracted by the shiny toys here that I honestly do not know who I am half the time I come here. If you can imagine the storage thingy you need, they will have it here. I could live in this store and die a happy woman ... sadly, they keep kicking me out a closing time. My husband recently "let" me back to this store because my daughter needed a desk in her room. I am glad to say that I found the perfect desk and it was on sale and did not break the bank. They also had someone take the heavy item to the car and get it in the trunk perfectly. This place also has the awesome ELFA products and they will have a yearly sale so keep an eye out for that it is so worth it. 25 years later and I still have my original ELFAs and they are in great shape. read more

This is the best place for organized freaks, like me... when I'm not lazy. They sell everything that is classified to keep you organized, ranging from shoe boxes to closets. Items are on the pricey end which probably explains why I'm broke! There are good deals when they have sales as long as you're not too picky. In answering the survey questions about this place, I come across this one: Do they accept credit cards? Yes, they do. They have to, because there's no way there's enough money in your checking account to cover what you want from The Container Store. When you're buying a $300 trash can, you know there's a problem with the world. But what TCS does is they make things that are just the right size, the right configuration, the right height, to fit that strange corner in your house, and then they make you pay a huge premium for that extra bit of ingenuity. If a store is going to charge me $7 for a tiny box, I wish they'd make it a little bit nicer than the cheap plastic they use. A little tumble in my purse and most of their containers would shatter or crack. Their pantry solutions could certainly be priced more reasonably, as they are basically the same things you find at Walmart, just with more variety of sizes. The quality is the same. I find myself wandering The Container Store to get ideas for storage, then taking items I find at Target, IKEA, etc to make my own storage solutions. read more

You've got to be careful... this place is really addictive. I do a decent amount of shopping here, and find them to have some of the coolest, innovative, unique products I've found throughout the container industry. Definitely more than your average "storage" section at a smaller retailer. Prices are pretty high, but things last, and the rude staff that used to be here, seem to have vanished (thank goodness!). As you may have figured out by now, I LOVE The Container Store. So why did I give them ONLY 4 stars? Well, I NEVER get the satisfaction from this Container Store like the Chestnut Hill one. The Chestnut Hill one is just better, more modern, and much more "contained", to this OPEN store. While I normally prefer a more open store that is brighter (like this one). The Container Store in Chestnut Hill has a vibe like no other store I've ever been to... and in short, it's because it's contained. I'll stick with Chestnut Hill for my liking of the setup, but otherwise this place is open, spacious, and has thousands and thousands of useful products for anyone's house. Be careful, this place can become addictive (as stated earlier) and you can drop a few hundred dollars here in one visit (or more!). I'm sure that other locations in the area would have more competitive prices, but if you are looking for a one stop shop with a number of products in the same style, this is your store. Container Store, why are you so far away from me? Your closest location is Chestnut Hill, but that is still a trek. We were in desperate need of a closet system and walked into the Container Store on a recommendation from our developer. We meandered over to the Elfa section and was immediately asked if we knew what Elfa was and if we would be interested in a quick, 15-minute tour of the section. We were originally hesitant, but then the man mentioned that if we signed up for the tour, we would be entered to win a $25 gift card to the Container Store. Sold. So we took the quick tour and won the gift card (we were the only ones who signed up) and then proceeded to build two closet systems. Everyone was super friendly and helpful. Everything was also 100% customizable (and less expensive than California Closets BY FAR), which was perfect for what we needed. We spent over an hour in there (and maybe closer to two), working with our Elfa specialist on building a closet that was right for us. We ended up buying 3 closet systems and I can't wait to go back for when I get to redecorate my office (and the rest of my house)! read more

"Everything has its place" - - - I'm a big fan. The CS certainly helps with this concept. There is a container, hook, or shelf for anything you might need to store (...for a price, of course). *air-tight cereal bins *office sorting trays *closet organizers *kitchen sorting utensils *.....Elfa closet systems (VERY expensive - putting together a 28" wide closet system will run you about 400$...then you have to worry about installation costs) Once you purchase a few rice bins, wine racks, trivets, hampers, shelves, and baskets, you're in it to win it. I have been on a quest these past couple of months for bento boxes and bento accessories. Let me tell you, Yelp!, it is dang near impossible to find such things in the Boston area. Even finding good substitutes is difficult. The Container Store did not let me down. They had some food containers that will make excellent bentos. They also had the perfect sized container for salad dressing or dipping sauce that I can put in my fake bento.
