For example, there may be a really cute pattern in blue and green but you won't find the same pattern in any other colors. I find I can't source the majority of a quilt here. I told the salesperson I wanted .5 yard of each. She promptly told me it was a 1 yard minimum. I really only needed 1/4 yard but took .5 yard to be safe since I was a long way from home. I told the cutter that I wanted to reevaluate by purchases since I was not going to need a yard of each and downsize what I bought. Another older woman at the counter started calling after me and stating that if I was going to dump the pile somewhere to just leave the bolts at the table. I was surprised at her accusation and stated I was not going to DUMP the fabric but wanted to get out of the way for more customers and would put back what I chose not to take. She again stated that I should not just dump the bolts of unwanted fabric but leave them with her. I again explained that I was just moving to the side to re look at what I had chosen. She again!!! stated about my intention to just dump the unwanted stock. It was at this point that I shoved ALL the bolts back at her and told her I was done with her attitude and their store. I gave no indication whatsoever that I was an irresponsible shopper that would do something like that especially after walking around for over 30 minutes with 6 bolts of fabric in my arms. Do not shop here unless you like to be accused of being an irresponsible shopper.

The name of this store is not a hyperbole. "WOW" is how I feel about shopping here. I've been…read morecoming to this little boutique for several years, and there is really no other store in the Boston area that I can compare WOW to. The clothes are beautiful and original and they last better than the stuff from Nordstrom or any other high end department store. Garments that look like they should be dry cleaned are all machine washable and come out in perfect shape after years of weekly washing. No pilling! Erika is a delight to work with. Once you shop at her store a few times, she'll just hand you a few things when you walk in. I'll still browse for an hour, but whatever Erika chose will usually look stunning and that's what I end up buying. What's so unique about the clothes WOW carries is that they offer many options for what you want to highlight and what you want to hide. In some stores everything is skin tight or everything is a bag. But at WOW I can always find something that will be tight exactly where I want and loose exactly where I want. Wow has clothes for every size and body type that are truly delightful. None of that boring Eileen Fisher awfulness. About the price and the return policy. Yes, the clothes are pricy and you can't return them for a refund (only store credit and sometimes there are time limitations). The first time I shopped at WOW this made me very nervous. But over many years, I've never felt like I wanted to return a single garment. The only thing I ever returned was a necklace/scarf that had an unusual smell to it (I am very sensitive to smells, so it might have just been me). Erika took it back and gave me store credit. After owning WOW clothes for years, I stopped viewing them as expensive. Say a WOW garment costs me $150, which first seams like 3 times what I would pay in some cheap store. But it lasts 3 times as long AND looks 3 times as nice. I am yet to retire a single thing I bought at WOW after 3 years. I can't think of any business that makes me feel this beautiful!

I felt kind of guilty for seeking this place out (a friend who lives nearby recommended it) in the…read morefirst place, since I've been trying to economize lately. And having read some of the earlier reviews, I was prepared for this place to sell $200 scarves and candles. That being said, Nest does indeed sell high-end merch like jewelry. It would not be out of place in the South End. The walls were full of art from a local photographer that was amazing, but I don't have $325 to drop on a 24 x 8 inch panel right now. It's definitely one of the best-smelling stores I have ever been to, but the most expensive candle was $48, not two bills. However, there was a pretty sizeable selection of "reasonably priced" items, like $24 scarves, wine racks on sale, little foodstuff items, hair accessories. I ended up picking up two $12 leather-and-studded headbands which were cool. It's definitely the kind of place where you're either shopping for yourself or a woman whose taste you know really, really well. Because you're dealing with a home store with an independently-curated selection of stuff, the gifts aren't safely generic like Pottery Barn or Williams-Sonoma--I hope that makes sense. I really have a bias against indifferent customer service. So the only serious ding was that the woman behind the counter basically did not acknowledge or speak to me until I asked if I could put the headbands at the register while I shopped some more--she was sweet as could be and chatty after that. There was only one other customer in the store, who also got ignored until she made a purchase. I don't like feeling like I have to pay to get a hello out of someone. But I'll definitely be back again sometime the next time I'm in the nabe.

I don't know that I can remember a better retail experience. Lorene is absolutely amazing, and I am…read moreso grateful for her help and care. I called Hudson Framing in advance to ask about a couple prints that I needed to get professionally framed due to their unusual size. I wasn't looking for anything super fancy, and let Lorene know I was looking for budget-friendly options over the phone. I also let her know I had Covid concerns, as I was going to visit in the middle of a surge and I had high risk family members staying with me. She was kind and understanding over the phone, and when I got to the store, she immediately put on a mask and welcomed me in. During my visit, a couple other people entered the store, and Lorene stopped and kindly asked them to wear a mask - and even offered to give them one - saying *she* had her own Covid concerns. I was honestly touched by that gesture. She worked with me on options for the prints, and offered guidance on mats, materials, etc. She looked for good quality frame options at a lower price point, and was able to find something that was ultimately exactly what I wanted and at a lower price than I expected. I went to pick up my prints a couple weeks later, not realizing it was on the same day as the Hudson art festival. I somehow found parking about 3-4 blocks away. When I picked up my rather sizable prints, Lorene asked me where I was parked. I told her, and she offered to help me carry the prints. I insisted I was fine to do it on my own, and she asked how I would carry them. I fumbled tucking them both under my arms, and she took one and started walking out the door, insisting that she help me. Turns out, I needed her assistance, and enjoyed a nice chat with her as we walked to my car. Lorene is just so wonderful. I am getting a third print done to fit my wall, and will absolutely be bringing it - along with future art - to Hudson framing. I really can't say enough wonderful things about this store and Lorene.
