Orange soufflé
Rajandeep D.

I recently took a cooking class here with my colleagues, and we had a good time and it was a nice bonding experience. The Chef was really sweet and clearly passionate about cooking and their job. However, the class itself could've been better. They replaced the chicken breast with chicken thighs, which just didn't feel right as some of us preferred chicken breast. The food we made was very basic: pan-seared chicken, flatbread (the dough was provided, and all we did was add 3 toppings), green beans, and soufflé. The soufflé was absolutely amazing-- creamy in the middle and soft on the outside. The flatbread was super doughy but chicken and beans tasted fine.

Overall my boyfriend and I had a great experience at the New Year's Eve date night cooking class. The instructor was a little rough around the edges at first, but he warmed up and was overall nice and explained things well. As everyone else mentioned having 4 people per station is a bit of overkill and made it hard sometimes when you want to go all hands in, but can't because you have to be conscious of other people. We got very generous portions of all the meals (salad, meat, veggies, dessert) - the dessert is absolutely to die for and I cannot wait to make it at home for myself. It was a great time, but I most likely won't be running back to do another one any time soon.

Cake decorating class- June 2019

I have attended many classes over the years at Sur la Table in the Natick location, and wanted to write this review as I know the location is closing soon due to the bankruptcy filing. I wanted to say that I have learned so much from Chefs Roy, Keely, and Clarissa; I keep my packets on hand and use them often especially from the Pizza and Pasta classes, and I hope that any or all of the Chefs continue to teach somewhere in the future. I highly recommend any one of them to take a class with, and hopefully I'll find them teaching again. Very sad that my Mother's Day tradition with my mom has to end; these were wonderful experiences.

The end result!

Are you looking to get your kitchen ready for living on your own after moving out for the first…read moretime? Maybe you need some tools for making an Asian inspired dish. Great Wall Kitchen Supply can provide kitchen tools for both everyday home users as well as restaurant owners. I have purchased items both for personal and for restaurant use before. One of the more recent items I purchased from here was one of their cutting boards. It was a round hard rubber cutting board that my sister needed. We had something similar that we used at home for the past decade and counting and it rand around $90 for the medium sized one. For restaurant use, there are everything ranging from dish sets (think sushi) to rice warmers with 100 bowl capacities. Do keep in mind that this is a REALLY tiny place and the walking spaces are quite narrow. If you know what you are looking for, you can call in advance to have them set it aside. I was able to do so and quickly load the items into my car when I pulled up next to the store front recently.

I bought a wok, washed it after I used it to cook, and overnight rust spots appeared. I put oil on it but the rust wouldn't go away. Wasted $50. And also, I exchanged a cutting board for other utensils and it didn't add up to the same price as the board. It was only a 5¢ difference. The young man store owner said "You must pay". Really, you really want that extra nickel. Buyer beware, you're in for a scare! You can buy good quality utencils at Dollar Tree for way less.

Let me first start off by saying that between this store and the other location in Salem NH, we…read morehave spend hundreds of dollars for kitchen items and were a pretty consistent customer. That being said, it only takes one time for me to be treated poorly and never go back to the place again. This christmas my wife spend a modest 7 dollars on a garlic keeper, amongst other things, and it was broken by a staff member while they were wrapping it for the bag after we purchased it. My wife made a comment to me that she hoped it wasn't broken by the way it was wrapped and handled as she too noticed it was handled roughly after it was purchased by the employee of the store. I assured her that it was probably fine and it sat on a shelf waiting to be wrapped for christmas. Fast forward to Dec. 24 and we unwrapped it to wrap it for christmas and noticed a crack running through the ceramic casing of the unit. We just decided to return it when we returned to the store a few days later when we were also going to buy a coffee maker and set of knives. Nevertheless, the employee called both my wife and I liars as there "was no way the unit left the store like that." She kept repeating the same thing and treating my wife like an ass so my wife just turned around and walked out of the store due to the way it was being implied that she was a liar and being treated so poorly. Since we were planning on purchasing other items and I was paying very little attention to the initial discussion I had to catch my wife as she was running out of the store and she told me what was happening. I then encountered the clerk over the situation and was treated the same way. I then asked for her name since she had no name tag and her managers name and phone number. She argued with me and told me that she didn't have to give me any of that information and simply gave me the phone number to store. I asked several times for the information and was told I was getting that information and if I asked again she was calling security. At that point I responded with, "why would you call security, I wasn't threatening in any way," she responded with, "yes you are," and began to walk away from me as if I wasn't worth talking to. It was at this point that I said some things that I regretted and walked out of the store. We have spent hundreds of dollars on both stores in Northborough and at Rockingham since we used to live in Andover. I have never been called a liar and seen my wife called a liar in a store before and have never been in a situation in a retail environment where I lost my temper. I will never return to either to these establishments again and will be spreading the word about how people are treated at the Northborough location for The Kitchen Place. Places don't know what customer service is any more...it was appalling how this woman acted.

Love this place; I've been coming here for many years, since it opened. It is one of my favorite…read morestores in the area, of any kind. So, the shopper's conundrum is why pay a little more at a store like this, rather than just buy on Amazon. I personally buy a ton of stuff on Amazon, and I don't generally like most stores. But this is one that I frequent, for these reasons: 1. It is a thoughtfully curated collection of items. The owner is a professionally trained chef (read about her on the store website), and the stock here is all practical, high quality, at a variety of price points, and sometimes just fun. 2. The customer service is fantastic. The people who work here are all experienced in the kitchen and they have good insights into how to select and use what they sell. You can have a long, discursive conversation about the merits of one $5 item compared to another. I have found them to be exceptional also at recommending gifts. 3. You can hold things and see them in person, as opposed to relying on marketing writing and often fake online reviews. 4. The vibe here is a delight. It is clean and organized, easy to find things. Back to customer service, the people here are fun to be around. For example, I was once trying to choose between thermometers, and the person helping me matter-of-factly mentioned that the one I was looking at came in either red or black. I choose red, and she lit up and said "Yay!!!" and clapped her hands. So funny..... Anyway, this is a great place, and I value all that they bring to this store.

They take customer feedback and product reviews into consideration when deciding which brands to carry. There's very little that they don't have (or have access to), from fun gadgets to major cookware. Are there items that can be purchased for less at Amazon or TJ Maxx? Of course, but, supporting and shopping local businesses is important to us.
