So, the shopper's conundrum is why pay a little more at a store like this, rather than just buy on Amazon. I personally buy a ton of stuff on Amazon, and I don't generally like most stores. But this is one that I frequent, for these reasons: 1. It is a thoughtfully curated collection of items. The owner is a professionally trained chef (read about her on the store website), and the stock here is all practical, high quality, at a variety of price points, and sometimes just fun. 2. The customer service is fantastic. The people who work here are all experienced in the kitchen and they have good insights into how to select and use what they sell. You can have a long, discursive conversation about the merits of one $5 item compared to another. I have found them to be exceptional also at recommending gifts. 3. You can hold things and see them in person, as opposed to relying on marketing writing and often fake online reviews. 4. The vibe here is a delight. It is clean and organized, easy to find things. Back to customer service, the people here are fun to be around. For example, I was once trying to choose between thermometers, and the person helping me matter-of-factly mentioned that the one I was looking at came in either red or black. I choose red, and she lit up and said "Yay!!!" and clapped her hands. So funny..... Anyway, this is a great place, and I value all that they bring to this store.

I'm not a billionaire and wanted some stellar tiles as a focal point and less expensive tiles surrounding them. It worked,I could afford it, it's beautiful. When planning a tile project, after I had chosen tiles and was…read morewaiting for a quote, I got a phone call and was asked just one question by the woman who helped me: did I want a shower ledge tiled with a particular tile. Innocent enough question, but little did I know that that would require buying an additional box of the MOST EXPENSIVE tile because we were short just two tiles. The tiles were available only by the full box. This one was a very pricey glass accent tile that we will never use anywhere else. Like others who have posted reviews, the final cost was higher than the original cost. And it took so long to get a quote that by the time I got it, it was too late to go to another vendor. There were a lot of ways we could have avoided buying that extra full box. Lesson learned. I will never fall into the same trap again. And I hope you don't either. Easiest way is to shop elsewhere. The full cost of tiles should be explained by the person selling them. And decisions that affect cost should be transparently explained.

Once we were teamed up with a staff member was when everything went down hill. He knew nothing about the products and I kid you not spent 45 MIN going through the product books looking for prices and if the vanity came in white. TORTURE. ( 5 vanities total). I have never left a nice store like this and thought " Wow, I will never get that 1.5 hours of my life back." We literally had to just get up and leave the store with no prices, no direction, nothing. Why a supervisor did not come over and check out what was taking so long is beyond me. Other couples cruised through and purchased whole bathrooms with other staff members. The salesman's colleague sat next to us in her desk and I could tell that even for her, it was torture watching this guy work. Again, where was the supervisor to assist? We still have nothing from that salesman who was suppose to email us the information. We stayed calm, did not get visibly frustrated, we just let him work... but it was bad. We ended up going to Moniques, had a great experience and bought our bathroom through them.
