We spent quite a bit of time (over)analyzing the different cabinet lines (Ultracraft, Wellborn Forest) and it is clear that Boston Kitchen Design has only selected cabinet lines that they want to stand behind and have their name attached to. Nice displays (a variety of ages) for multiple cabinet lines. All of the staff is very welcoming and knowledgeable. We met with Mary Porzelt a few times. Mary is a pleasure to work with -- she is a very professional and experienced kitchen designer. She listened well, and I felt like she always shared her good design sense, but would be willing to do anything I wanted. He did it exactly the way we wanted by replacing the big, old jacuzzi tub with a beautiful, tiled walk-in-shower, new floor, and re-positioning the toilet to a better place. We wanted to keep our double sink vanity/cabinet and the big mirrors, but refreshed them with a good paint job. We love how it looks and works!! Arik and his team are very professional, competent and were a true pleasure to have in our house every day. They arrived on time, were always polite, answered all of our questions, made sure our sleeping area in the bedroom was protected from all the construction dust, cleaned up each evening before they left. Arik told us the job would take 2 to 2.5 weeks and it took exactly 2! The only thing left is the glass doors for the shower. Arik brings in the glass guy Rene who measures, discusses what we want, and then orders it for us. When the glass doors are ready to be installed, Arik will come back with Rene to oversee the installation. Arik's price was quite reasonable for the job, and he stuck with it!! There weren't any real unexpected challenges, but he did a few things extra to make sure the job was done right and did not charge any more than his original quote. We highly recommend Arik for any contracting work that you need, and we will definitely be using him again if and when we have another project. I am attaching "before" and "after" pictures.

You really can't tell it's open.... and anyone who has the courage to go into the little "shack" on the opposite side of the building, called the "Paper Annex", with a small paper sign on the door, HAS to have some bravery. Even though it looks closed, drive up behind the building (even though it looks like a one way road... I can guarantee you, it isn't), and park your car, if you are looking for the best prices throughout the large city of Newton on any storage containers, timers, baskets, mason jars, wine glasses, kitchen utensils, mugs, plates / bowls, small appliances, decor for home, towels, and all sorts of other stuff. They even sell banana holders (too bad, I hate bananas). Anyway, the woman working was friendly, and the prices throughout the store were well lower than any of the nearby competition. Remember, think Newton here. Bloomingdale's, Crate & Barrel, and HomeGoods are the three only other places I can think of with this kind of stuff, and while HomeGoods, specifically, has good prices, but still nothing like this! I have to take off a star for the poor design of the parking lot and driveway of this place, as well as the building that is in major need of an overhaul, but I still highly suggest it. 4 stars for China Fair.

From the initial design process with Danielle we felt at home with her guidance, and she made the entire experience fun and enjoyable. Danielle was extremely knowledgeable, and put us on the right path with regard to our budget, design expectations and really helping us to understand how the entire process works. Right from the beginning, we knew we had reached out to the right company. Then came the build process, in which we were fortunate enough to work with Steve Costa who not only juggled a third-floor walk-up, a building from the late 1800s, but also an extremely pregnant woman who was keen on getting this project off the ground and completed as quickly as possible. Steve led a fantastic group of NKB employees and subcontractors, but I would be remiss to not give a special shoutout to John and Mike who were our dream team carpenters, kitchen décor experts, and mental support during the project. Our dog clearly misses Steve, John and Mike as they became best friends it seems during the project. Additionally, Kelsea from the PMA team was a huge help in keeping the schedule/accounting on track for us. We were THRILLED with the final product (photos attached), and we are so very thankful for all of the hard work of the entire NKB team to bring our dream bathroom to life (before the baby, may I add)!
