This review is two months overdue, and I apologize for not doing it sooner. My wife and I purchased Silestone countertops from The Granite Place in Wilmington, Massachusetts. Eduarda was our salesperson. She was patient and attentive to our needs and a great help in selecting the suitable stone for our new counters. However, the customer service continued after the sale; everyone we spoke to or dealt with until the job was complete was outstanding. But we want to give a special thanks to Robeson Aquino and Guilherme Silva for their fantastic installation of our counters. As a builder, I went against peer advice and reluctantly used these guys on a few homes and on every one of them I received many calls on the poor workmanship and product quality. We purchased a quartz remnant to be used for 2 bathrooms since it was the only beige piece they had. They initially cut the slab for the 1st bath, but they did not cut it correctly. Our plumber told us it was cut incorrectly because he couldn't hook up the sink to the plumbing. The 2nd set of installers came back and wanted to cut our brand new sink so that the quartz would fit. But we told them no, and that they needed to recut the stone to fit the countertop. The 3rd group of installers came and did a good job of finally cutting the piece to fit. However, there was no more of the slab left to use for the 2nd bath. So I went to their stores and saw nothing available that was similar. So I asked for my money back. After 3 weeks and many emails and phone calls, I finally got my check back but only because I went there in person to pick it up. I would never go back to this place again. read more

I have never written a review about anything before but felt compelled to do so after our disappointing experience with The Granite Place. We enlisted them for the granite counter top and granite shower threshold for a master bathroom renovation. We experienced the following unfortunate obstacles on what turned out to be a roller coaster ride of mishaps: We purchased a large remnant several months before the work began, guaranteed to be held for us indefinitely with a deposit. When we went back to the store for the final measurements and template design we learned that our slab had been cut up and sold to someone else. We were thus forced to search for a new piece, and had to try to find a piece that matched all the other components we had subsequently purchased to match the original. Having finally found a slab that was less satisfactory, but adquate, installation began. The countertop and backsplash were put in place and my wife went up to inspect the work. Luckily she noticed that the backsplash had a crack along the center that had been secretly repaired and never divulged to us. The installers actually acknowledged, after having been found out, that they were aware of the crack and had witheld that information , claiming such a defect was common is these situations and not a big deal. We had the backsplash removed, with work grinding to a halt and a new piece installed eventually. The work finally completed we began to use our bathroom. We immediately noticed that water was seeping into the granite and staining it within 1-2 minutes of getting wet. (A properly sealed granite should not absorb water for at least 30 minutes). Our contract guaranteed that the granite would be sealed and that the sealing would be guaranteed for a year. When we inquired about this they claimed that the surface had been properly sealed but that we could upgrade to a stronger sealant at our own expense. I don't think so. My wife applied an inexpensive sealant on her own and the problem is solved. To summarize, too many mishaps, too much deception and not standing by their work. Buyer beware. read more

Hi, The Granite Place was very friendly, helpful, professional, and they were on time! They did what they promised and our new counters are beautiful. The only reason why I gave them four stars instead of five is because I'm not crazy about where the seam is. The installer did talk to me about it though and I knew it was coming. Clarissa also talked to me about it and reassured me that the seam is a common thing and that it would not be too noticeable. She was right and it is not too noticeable but it is still there. Regardless though, the counters are beautiful and we are very happy. read more

I wanted to update our dated kitchen extensively. Clarissa worked with me via email or over the phone to help answer questions and draft a quote even though her vacation time. We wanted the quartz, which is quite expensive material than others. Their price was very competitive and has various material selection. After measuring the template, they kept us updated for the fabrication process as well and the entire work was completed as promised. We love the contemporary and very slick new counter tops. Both our contractor and the granite warehouse recommended The Granite Place and we are sure glad they did. Their price was highly competitive, the quality and speediness of their fabrication was excellent, and all personnel we dealt with were friendly, helpful and professional. Clarissa spent a lot of time with us helping us decide on the granite to accompany our new kitchen cabinets, and then helping us decide the placement of the 3 counter templates to be cut from the slab. She also made a special trip to our house to deliver a 'hot plate/cutting board' made from the sink cutout of the granite, after the job was completed. That's going over and above! The fabricators, templators and the installers did an excellent job, including making a little shelf/accent piece that was an odd size. We absolutely love our new kitchen counters and we are so thankful we discovered The Granite Place. Their work is quality, prices excellent, and interactions all top notch. Great service, great price. We were referred to the Granite Place by our cabinet maker after receiving a quote from another installer. From the moment we spoke to them about whether our large sink would fit to the final installation we were assured our project would be done right and under a tight deadline. At one point we did not have enough of the granite we purchased elsewhere and they recommended that we drive out to the shop and discuss options. Since we were doing a waterfall island the pieces needed to match up a certain way. Not only did we achieve the waterfall with the pieces we had but we also were able to eliminate the unsightly seam that you see in most kitchens. We ordered our granite counter top from The Granite Place. From the moment we walked in to choose from the beautiful slabs and until the installment we had a very positive experience. Scarlet helped us to make a good decision. She shared her expertise without being pushy. We took our time to make up our minds. Once we placed our order, the guys came in to take the measurements in two days. The installment took place the following week. So all in all it took 1 week to complete the whole process from the beginning to the end. We are very happy with our beautiful granite counter top! We highly recommend The Granite Place. We had The Granite Place install beautiful Viatera quartz countertops for us in January. It wasn't a simple project. It was a custom three level peninsula which included a wrap around table top. Lots of small cutouts needed to be made to fit the cabinets and walls in the kitchen. We asked for the owner to do the templating and he was fantastic. Took a lot of time and care to make a detailed template and was very pleasant to talk with while he did his work. When the install was done, the crew was prompt, clean and installed the 3 pieces of counter professionally and quickly. We are so happy we used The Granite Place and I would recommend them to others. We also found their prices to be competitive to other companies we got quotes from as well. read more

I would not recommend going to The Granite Place. We went to several different granite/marble counter-top stores in the area but unfortunately ended up going with The Granite Place (TGP). Clarissa was very friendly and seemed knowledgeable about the different remnants that they had (since we needed a small piece for a bathroom counter-top). Our good experience with TGP stopped after our first visit. We decided to work with them specifically because of the marble stone that we liked. We went back a couple days later with a deposit and told them exactly how big we needed it, and that we wanted the sink centered on the counter-top. Sounds simple enough, but when we went back to pick up the finished product, there was so much wrong with it. We were devastated since the stone was basically ruined and we needed it for our construction project that week. When we tried to talk to the owner about it, she was instantly rude and defensive without even looking at what they did to the counter-top. Said "we don't do it like that", and "ugh, you people". I've never encountered anything like it when working with a company, let alone an owner. They didn't center the sink to the counter-top so it looked ridiculous and unbalanced, they used the wrong edge type on the sink (she tried to tell us it was pencil edge when it was clearly beveled, then later admitted that it was done wrong by a "new employee"), the top had scratches on it, the stone was cut upside down (we told them which part we wanted as the front and they marked it as such before it was cut), and the back-splash didn't line up with the stone as they said it would. They were able to get the other half of the stone that we liked and told us that they would redo it after probably 20 minutes of arguing. After the difficulty with the first top, I talked to Clarissa and went over everything in great detail to reiterate how the first top should have been cut. I even took a picture of the uncut second stone, and marked it up in photoshop to show them which parts to avoid when cutting and we asked again to see the cut lines before they cut it to make sure we liked how it was laid out. I sent the picture and a list of all the specifics on the job so there wasn't any opportunity for confusion. They sent the picture of how it was going to be cut, and I responded that I would like it moved to the left. She responded back saying that they already cut it, and "this is what it looks like". Unreal. Why send the picture if you weren't going to wait an hour (I responded in an hour) for the response? Before they cut the sink and the faucet holes we went down there to see how it looked, and they had both in the wrong spot. We asked that it be moved a 1/2 inch forward from the first one because the faucet barely fit (rubbing up against the back splash). They had it in the same position as the original piece. After explaining what we wanted for a 3rd time the owner said she understood and that it would be done. We had delivery scheduled for the second piece on Tuesday from 1-2. At 4pm they still hasn't come, and hours earlier our plumber (who was waiting for them to come so he could install the faucet) had to leave because it was taking too long, which put us behind schedule. When I called I was told that my window was 2-4 and that the installer was on his way. I said I needed to leave for a wake but that if they could come in 10 minutes then I could wait. A minute later they called to say that they hadn't finished the back-splash! How can you be "on the way" for a delivery if they hadn't finished it? So the delivery had to be re-scheduled again to the following day. The delivery and installation the next day went fine, except for the installer banging his caulk guns into our newly installed door trim, causing a dent. The other installer was the other owner, her husband, who was very friendly and apologetic for all the issues we had - a very stark contrast to his rude wife. I would never go back to this company and highly recommend that you don't either. read more

If I could give The Granite Place more than 5 stars I would. The owner, Carol has created a wonderful place to shop for granite, quartz, and tile in a beautiful environment. The showroom is inviting and the staff friendly and knowledgeable. It is a hidden gem! It was the first place I shopped for granite and after checking out other places, including some warehouses where I was overwhelmed, I came back to the Granite Place. They have an excellent selection of granite and quartz on site and the prices are reasonable. The service is exceptional there - true teamwork among the staff. I was always made to feel welcome to browse as much as I liked and come back again to look at slabs. Lara was very friendly, knowledgeable, and professional. She spent a lot of time showing me slabs and has a great sense of color and style. She was able to make some great recommendations and gave me samples to take home in a little canvas bag with their name on it. Lara attended to every detail and made sure I was satisfied with my selection and the installation. Great Customer Service! Delivery and installation was on time and beautifully done. We are currently in the process of moving into our 3rd home and we had the liberty to choose our granite. We were introduced to Carol (owner) and she took care of us from day 1. Not only are her and her staff extremely friendly but they were understanding, showed us different examples and really helped us plan as if it was their home too. We are expecting twins soon and Carol went out of her way on 5 different occasions (we couldn't choose-I blame the indecisiveness on the pregnancy) to lay out all options but her delicate approach was necessary for my wife with her hormonal imbalance. I don't post reviews as often as I should but her expertise and professionalism warrant a 10 star review. We couldn't be happier...now our fireplace, kitchen, island and all 3 bathrooms are perfectly styled to how we envisioned and how she explained they would look. There's no doubt that she's getting our repeat business for when we finish the basement wet bar and our outdoor kitchen. Do not hesitate to use The Granite Place! read more
