Our experience with Select Stone was excellent for a number of reasons. We completely renovated our downstairs rental apartment in our two family home which was built in 1900. We have never renovated a kitchen or bathroom, so we definitely need an education. Our contractor recommended Select Stone, and specifically Marcelo Araujo. From start to finish, Marcelo and his very tight team took great care of us (and we probably drove them crazy with a million questions). Marcelo: -Got us in for a consultation quickly. -Gave us a LOT of time in the warehouse and educated us on the differences between and individual properties of marble, granite, and quartz (and how each react to heat, chemicals, oils, etc). -Explained that the stone would be sealed at the factory, and told us specifically which sealer to use once the stone was installed and how often to repeat. -Asked us a lot of questions about how the kitchen and bathroom would be used. -Explained the pluses and minuses of regular height and full-height back splashes. -Explained the pluses and minuses of different types of edge/corner shapes -Helped us select a granite that compliments the cabinets and paint color perfectly. -Explained the challenges of working with old homes where every wall was not replaced and if the walls were not completely flat what would and would not work. -Explained that a lot more information would come out of the visit to measure the kitchen and bathroom. -Explained the pluses and minuses of stainless steel and ceramic sink bowls. -Gave us guidance on what types of faucets we should/should not purchase. The measuring team were also fantastic. Thorough, informative, and incredibly helpful explaining the challenges they discovered with the wall behind the stove and the bathroom walls. A full-height back splash would not work behind the stove because the wall was not flat enough. The bathroom walls were also not flat, and in some places there were going to be gaps too big to fill with caulk (and look good). Marcelo was always available for our many questions. If he wasn't in the office, everyone we spoke to seemed to know everything about the project, and were always helpful. The installation went perfectly! We will absolutely use Select Stone and Marcelo in the future, and have recommended them to friends. The only bad part? Our new tenant gets to enjoy all of this, not us! read more

Customer service lady Brazilian (white with black hair looks like a possum In distress) is super rude I deliver there & was trying to explain to her how I can't deliver the goods in their loading dock she cut me off & said & I quote " ALL THE DELIVERY DRIVERS DELIVER THEIR SO YOU ARE GOING TO HAVE TO GO THERE". Well #1 I didn't even get to explain my situation she cut me off mid sentence. #2 i always deliver to the side of their garage door (not the loading dock because any truck driver knows it's impossible to back in there) #3 any real truck driver knows if a customer says " the last guy did it" or "driver goes there all the time" 98% of the time is straight bs. & come to find out I had to load on the side of their building like I always do. read more

Worst customer service. Very rude. Feel like people are begging them not paying for the goods.

Everyone at Select was extremely helpful throughout the process of my kitchen renovation. Daniele was very patient, as we had several setbacks and delays during the reno. They were able to re-schedule the template/install and were very accommodating. Thanks so much! read more

Absolutely horrible experience. We drove out from Boston looking for a granite remnant for our kitchen remodel. We were helped by Josadack (goes by Joe) and he immediately kept trying to talk us into buying new granite instead of a remnant. He finally stopped badgering us, and we found 2 remnants we liked. But then when we tried to follow-up the next week to make arrangements for delivery and install, he would not answer our calls or emails. He even answered once and then just hung up. We ultimately bought our granite from another place, and would encourage everyone to absolutely avoid select stone. read more

They did a fantastic job with my kitchen. However, I am trying to get my bathroom done and they are not great at returning calls. I left a voicemail and was told that they never received it. I then reached out through their website and received a call back. They were going to check to make sure the stone was available and call me back. Again no call. I left another voicemail. No call. I have referred them to people several times. Unfortunately, I can no longer say that they are customer service focused. read more

They cracked the stone upon installation. It had taken me 1 1/2 years to find a stone I loved that would work in my particular kitchen; no other slabs of that stone existed in the northeast -- I spent hours upon hours checking. Then, I was told they'd located a stone. I drove down there, almost an hour from home, only to find Select Stone was wrong. The original stone was repaired and I accepted the repair (they did do a good job of this), but after they'd done the whole installation with the repaired stone, I noticed two backsplashes were also cracked -- and they glued them together without telling me. I'd already paid. They dripped epoxy on my new sink and also on the cabinet below; the epoxy, of course, was hardened by the time I noticed. read more

Select Stone installed a granite bathroom vanity top when we built our new home in 2018. Using a partial slab left over in their warehouse the price was great (slightly better than the contractor the builder used for the rest of the house), the template and install very good. Was totally pleased with their work. In August of 2019 I wanted a long granite counter in the 3rd floor studio and made several trips to view their inventory and finally found 3 partial unsold slabs left over in their warehouse that would work. After dealing with Patricia and more than a few follow-ups requesting a price I was quoted $1300 for only one of 3 options. This was $400 over 2 different quotes that I had received from fabricators in Hudson, MA--Obviously I went with the guys in Hudson, the install was perfect, and I got exactly what I wanted. Seems like Select Stone wants to compete with Garrity Granite on having the highest prices and worst customer service in the Eastern Suburbs. Stay away. read more

Very friendly and knowledgeable staff, but accuracy and quality are not high on their list. They ordered the wrong kitchen counter top causing a 2 week delay to the project. Then they broke a bathroom counter top while cutting it, forcing me to select something quickly that I did not like as much. The installation is not the best - sometimes it's difficult to tell these are new counter tops. I would not use them again read more

I never write reviews but was so impressed with Select Stone's quality and service, and had previously looked at Yelp and was hesitant to use them since there was just one review and it was negative so I wanted to counter that with my experience. I was painting my cabinets and wanted a new counter/sink so I did not have a contractor and no idea what I was doing - Patricia at Select Stone was so patient with me, answered all of my questions and walked me through choices, and alerted me to things that may/did come up in removing the old counters and trying to keep my existing backsplash well before I got into that stage so I was better prepared. The stone could not be more beautiful or flawless, and I needed to do it in 2 pieces and the installers did an outstanding job at piecing them together so the seam is nearly invisible. In addition - I received 6 different quotes on the granite and the prices fluctuated quite a bit, but all were 30% higher than at Select Stone!! And the other places did not seem as willing or helpful to someone like me that was doing a lot of the work themselves. I highly recommend them for their quality, price and customer service - they were the perfect package!! read more
