Overall a great experience and I'm contemplating using them again for other projects in my condo in Boston.

Paola met with us for about 2 hours at our house, two months before we were going to sell. She gave us a run down of what she thought should be done. This included changing a carpet, painting a small room a neutral color, chopping down a small bush, getting rid of various pieces of furniture, moving some art work. We decided to go with it as we liked Paola's style. She is very direct and businesslike and we felt that she knew what she was doing. We did what she said and then about 5 days before the first open house she came back and she dressed each room with vases, throws, paintings, decorations. She moved furniture from one room to another, making me wonder why I hadn't thought of doing that while we lived there! In the end, our 36 year old house looked like a new house. We were delighted. I am pleased to say that our house looked so good that it sold the day after the open house for the asking price. It was a nice house anyway, but Paola made it really shine.

Here's what I liked best about working with Katie and Michelle: 1) Super responsive: We were on a tight timeframe with our decorating project. Katie never let me send her an email without responding within 24 hours (and it was usually more like 24 minutes!) 2) Innovative: Just look at their website (www.rosenfeldking.com) and see what amazing colors, patterns, and furniture they pull together to make a room. I loved that they weren't afraid of color. They pushed me past my "comfort-zone" in a non-pushy way, and I'm so glad they did! 3) Hands-on: When I couldn't be at the house to accept a furniture delivery or let in a work crew, Katie or Michelle would. Seems very rare in this industry, and this was a huge deal - truly a lifesaver in our case. 4) Budget-conscious: For the most part, we stayed within our budget for the entire house. They pushed me to spend more where it counted, and to not spend when it wasn't worth it. 5) Thoughtful: I needed a family-friendly design that was pretty, but could withstand a TON of rough and tumble. Store owner Slava and his assistance Olga are knowledgeable and do actually know their own stock and are able to provide good suggestions based on what you are looking at. There are variety of sets available, and most include floor tile, wall tile, as well as decorative elements like bullnoses and fingers, for example. Different variations of grout is also available to match your selection. Our order took few days to arrive, but it was on time. No issues with delivery or pick up of the tiles. The store also has some selections of sinks, shower heads, and shower vents. They are also expanding to include kitchen cabinets. All in all it is a small store with excellent selection of different tiles. The price ranges are good from reasonable to very expensive, so everyone should be able to find something that matches their wallet. They usually have couple sets on sale as well - just need to ask. 5/5 would use them again (probably will for my kitchen).

We went to Tile in Style when we were renovating our bathroom on the recommendation of our…read morecontractor. He had sent lots of his clients there with good results. With the help of Inga, the owner, I found what we wanted, and told Inga I would order closer to the date of our project. We chose not to order all of the hardware and plumbing needs for the bathroom (shower head, fan light, etc) as it seemed very expensive and our contractor said we could get nice stuff at Lowe's. Inga called me several times, and wrote me several emails pressuring me to order everything as she said it was in stock and we did not want to chance the tile not being available. I told her we did not want the hardware, so she sent me a "discounted" price, which still came out more than what we paid at Lowe's. We did order the tile in advance and had it delivered. It turns out we had two issues that Inga refused to deal with. 1. We had a total of 6 boxes of extra, unopened tiles (2 diff kinds) that we wanted to return for a refund. She insisted that special orders are not returnable, no matter what. When I retorted that she had told me it was all in stock so therefore not a special order, she gave me a whole long explanation and still refused to accept 4 unopened boxes of the shower wall tiles that is very expensive. 2. When our contractor opened the mosaic tile for the shower floor, he was very upset to see that the paper backing was stuck to all the tile sheets and he had to spend a lot of time scrubbing them off. I wrote Inga about this and asked again for a refund for the 2 boxes of mosaic tiles we were not opening or using and that our contractor had never had these problems anywhere else. She refused again, explaining why the paper was stuck on, which doesn't help us! I wrote back explaining that I would let her re-think her decision and if by Monday she had not decided to accept the extra tile back and give us a refund then I would make sure I gave her terrible reviews everywhere I could, tell all my friends to boycott her store, and I would speak with an attorney about taking her to small claims court. Her email response was that she would exchange any unopened mosaic tile with the paper on the back (too late for that for us), but not refund anything, and I should stop harassing her! My contractor plans on never sending her business again. I plan on reporting them to the BBB and possibly taking her to small claims court. I have never had worse service from a business before! Thankfully we love our contractor and the bathroom will look great, even if we are out a LOT of money.

On my list of things to do was to clean up our front garden, which was overgrown with weeds. I reached out to several landscapers, including Potted Up, South End Gardens, and Pemberton Garden Services. I laid out what we were hoping to do: clean up the garden and replace it with something beautiful and low maintenance. To my surprise, none of the landscapers were willing or interested in taking on our project. It was too small. A couple said our budget ($1k) was too low for them; they wanted bigger projects where they could put in water systems. I was dejected by the initial responses, but then someone recommended Erdman Design. Carey to the rescue! Carey was amazing - uber responsive and professional. We arranged a time to meet that week. He was willing to work within our budget. We bounced around several ideas of what I hoped the garden would look like - colors, type of plants/trees/flowers, etc. He planted it all the following week. We could not be more thrilled with the end result! It looks amazing - a complete transformation. I highly recommend Carey for any landscaping needs you have in the South End, Back Bay, or greater Boston area!

I met Cary several months ago at a BNI meeting in Boston. I was drawn into his enthusiasm while he described the projects and his obvious love, for what he so skillfully does. His designs range from initial advice and working with you ....through finishing touches with interior design/exterior design. He has a very keen eye. He's also incredible at floral arranging for holidays occasions and for weddings. As well as outside gardens, entrance ways and natural landscape garden focal points. I must also add Holiday decorating both interior and exterior. But book in advance I'd say for the holiday designs. Though I know he does his best to never turn business away. He will try to squeeze you in if he can. Overall his designs are smart, varied, and beautifully unique. So what has he done for me? I inquired about some landscaping my husband was doing, looking for tips and ideas to carry out our plan. Cary is not a pushy salesperson in the slightest and he came to our house to view our plans- which was not huge job. He listened respectfully to the plans my husband was very excited about and then gave us his ideas. At first we were reluctant to change our designs plans but as my husband and I discussed it further we realized he really had a knack for knowing about plant and shrub placement. We ultimately decided to go forward with his plan. Best decision we made!!!!!!. The trees he put in look absolutely fabulous and he staggered them for a full front privacy look, yet it has dimension- not a straight line. We asked him to purchase the Plantings... Junipers, andromedas azaleas. The specimens he picked are fresh healthy and gorgeous. He purchased, delivered, did placement and planted. Then have us directions for caring for them. I can't recommend Cary enough. He is thorough, fair in pricing, and very easy to work with. He also does window treatments something which I am about to call him and inquire about. 5 Stars!
