Kathryn was generous with her knowledge, such that we came away not only with recommendations, but with an understanding of the principles behind them. She answered our questions intelligently, then expanded into possibilities we hadn't even considered. We particularly appreciated the fact that she was sensitive to our budget, offering suggestions that could be implemented now as well introducing possible ideas for the future. While she has lovely taste and excellent instincts, Kathryn took care never to impose her ideas; instead, she offered guidance, then encouraged us to embrace the choices that spoke to us. She helped us with paint colors, furniture dimensions, traffic flow, lighting options, and all sorts of additional things -- from the small to the structural -- that we never would have known about. To top it all off, she was professional in every way, as well as a personal delight to work with. When it's time for our next interior design project, Spring Green Interior Design will be our first call.

We worked with them to pick one, fine tune it, and created an excellent final plan that met our design and budget requirements. They were also instrumental, once we handed the design over to the contractor, in helping us make a critical decision about paint colors that really enhanced the space. We are very happy with their cabinet (FSC certified wood) and countertop vendors as well. We highly recommend Bel Kitchen and Bath Design!

Our living space is so much lighter, more functional and - prettier. Meanwhile, historic furniture, art, etc has a place as well. We are delighted. On a practical note, in any renovation, large or small, snags happen. Linda was super quick to resolve the two minor issues that came up. She was totally committed to seeing that the job was done perfectly. No detail was too small.

First of all- Megan Healy is incredibly…read moretalented not only with her sense of design, color, textures, but also layout/flow of a space and, even better and more rare in my experience, finding that perfect balance between beautiful design but practical functional use. She also is an excellent listener and really gets what her clients are going for and is able to use her years of expertise in the field to research solutions, find just the right pieces or paint colors, while also magically working well within the budget. You feel as if you're in a wonderful collaborative partnership with her where she is very open to ideas, suggestions and feedback but also uses her expertise and talent to guide the planning and finishing process. She's flexible, attentive, incredibly professional and reliable. She was able to calmly and kindly work with me on a fast, stressful timeline (due to an unexpected move in office space) and a restricted budget to transform a previously neglected office space with challenging space issues into a beautiful, healing space that my clients and I love. Megan is truly a pleasure to work with and a shining gem in her field. I give her my absolute highest recommendation for any design work you may need!!

They don't make the shades anymore, and they sent me these AWFUL replacements that were like brown paper bags. I felt like I had dressed a beautiful bride in a garbage bag! Cut to five months later, after so much searching for drapery repair--everyone else said no--I finally found Yelena at Design and Thread. I sent her photos of the original drapes, and she said she could repair them. Not only did she repair them, her installer came and put them back up in under an hour, and then Yelena came herself to my home to make sure the cords were working and arrange the drapes so they looked BETTER THAN EVER. My windows are back in their original dress and I could not be more grateful to Yelena and her crew! She is a magician and an angel....and honestly so soulful too; she and her husband invited me into her home when I brought the drapes to be repaired, and I feel I have new friends. I admire her greatly! If you have big old historical windows--or any need for respectful, ingenious decor design in an historic district, look no further. Yelena is your woman. SO GRATEFUL! PS, Yelena and her installer were masked the whole time they were in my home and whenever we met. I asked her to take off her mask for a minute to snap this photo so you can see who you'll be working with!

This review is somewhat late, as we started the design process during COVID. We converted a small study into a walk-in closet, and I was completely new to what is needed and how much and where stuff should go. Coset Craft had excellent, logical, cost-effective recommendations, and I really felt they were trying to build the right closet for my needs while respecting my budget. Second, I asked for a last-minute change in placement of a cabinet, and they accommodated that on-site without an up-charge. Finally, about two years after installation, we had a minor problem with one of the slides on a drawer, and the response to my request was instant. They had somebody come over the next day to fix the issue. No red tape, no questions, just great product and service.

I highly regret my decision to work with Decoraid and would urge friends or strangers against…read moreworking with them, and I feel personally taken advantage of. The final outcome took over 9 months and left 40% of the proposal unfilled with no payment back to me for missing services. My main feedback is that the process the firm runs is *incredibly* inefficient and leaves almost no opportunity for collaboration. The other is that the designers are basically just internet shoppers, with no connection to the things they're actually buying. With two in person meetings followed by a single proposal, there's basically no chance to actually get a good outcome. No one knows exactly what they want in the first meeting, and if they did they wouldn't need Decoraid. It takes working through options and figuring out what works well together. Neither designer I worked with (I was given a new designer after 4+ months of nothing happening with the first) used a pinterest board (something that seems super weird for an interior designer) that we could have collaborated through. Instead, they sent over single rug options without any context on other pieces that would fit with it. The reason I would pay someone $2,000 to help design a studio apartment would be for their creative spirit and perspective, and neither were proactive at all - basically just taking the things I wanted and googling them to find options. If you see a couch without pillows or a blanket, shouldn't she be calling out that I need that? Shouldn't she be architecting what to do with a blank 2 floor wall that's 20 feet wide? This seems to be a foundational expectation hearing about friends' experiences with other designers. The other missing aspect is that the designers used entirely cookie cutter options - only limited to West Elm, Crate and Barrel, and All Modern. Interior Designers are supposed to know more than you and do things you can't do in your own free time. They're supposed to have a good eye and be tuned in to off the beaten track options, visiting markets and fairs and hunting for good options. To be honest, they weren't even been good at the cookie cutter options - suggesting terribly uncomfortable itchy thin rugs, and couldn't find a Brass Mirror that was available to order which I found for myself within 10 minutes of looking. Of the first three items to arrive, I returned two of them because they didn't fit. With the amount of effort this took on my side and the time it's taken and the bad results it's yielded, along with no recourse for missing items from the initial proposal, I feel taken advantage of.

Decor Aid allowed me to get the help I wanted for a very affordable price. My living room pieces are now arriving and I love the result. Because I live out in the suburbs in Boston, they did not have a person that could come to my home. However, they still helped me my putting me in contact with their NYC office (Meredith Cook was my designer, she's amazing) and we did all the work through skype/phone/email. It was very convenient. Meredith was very professional, responsive and patient (with the couple of times I changed my mind) and really tried to work with me in understanding my style before proposing a plan. I plan on using them again for the other rooms in my house.
