First time at savers, they definitely have a HUGE space and rows on rows of racks. To the right when you walk in has aisles of books (buy4get1) and then ceramics and decor and old appliances and electronics toward the back near the restrooms. Restrooms leave something to be desired haha but they do have them available, no TP or soap so had to just make do with a #1 and get back to thrifting! :) Now they definitely have more cool brands for the female section usually at most thrift places i feel. The lady found 7-10 patagonias, some Oner, some cool vintage stuff we don't know where from. You donate something and they give you 20% off to spend in store. You can also sign up for their membership and get coupon QR codes to use on checkout. The men's section has a lot of jeans, dress shirts, active wear and light jackets etc. most items in the 10-20 dollar range with like Northface items being 20-30$ I saw a lot of Nike, addidas, Charles River, hill fiber, RL, etc. never know what you can find. Savers on VFW Parkway, in West Roxbury, is one of my favorite Savers locations! Note: I haven't donated here before & mainly thrift ;) I've been coming to this location since I was in high school and I've always had great luck with finding items here. Typically, I leave with at least one item. Common to find Patagonia jackets & vests here & Lululemon apparel ! Yesterday we gave Savers a visit, and I was having a field day in here on Halloween! Found 4 Patagonia jackets/vests, Lululemon swiftly long sleeve shirt, & some cool crewnecks. Prices are fair; Most items are in the $10 range & usually don't see any item being priced over $20. Everything is overpriced. One DVD is $2 and the next is $4?! No. Plus their knickknacks are constantly broken. Employees are incredibly rude. Clothes are are on their last leg... Few washes and their worn thin to the point of holes. Greedy. The whole franchise is super greedy. Pricing goods they get for free for more than their worth. I've seen things that were still on sale in Dollar Tree next door for a dollar one for three dollars here. Whoever is in charge of their pricing is a garbage human. Savers in West Roxbury made it amazingly easy to donate here. I drove up to the front and noticed the green arrows and signage directing me to keep driving to the end to their Donation Center, where two staff members were waiting with a number of empty bins. I could stay outside while I unloaded my donation right into their bins! The gentleman in the car ahead of me had a baby carriage which I watched him reload into his car, so I guess they don't take absolutely everything. But from my research, they do take a lot, I think, that other places aren't interested in, such as used toys, stuffed animals, and magazines. Donations here benefit their charity partner Epilepsy Foundation New England. Savers is however a for profit partner, so shopping in their store does NOT benefit their charitable partner. I found everything really overpriced and the toy section is sadly just filled with junk. Staff is unhelpful, if not downright surly. I asked for help scanning my coupon and I was basically told do it myself. Of course I did it incorrectly and didn't get my 20% off (when I checked my receipt), the same employee was like so sorry you've already paid. read more

I was appalled when I could finally find a person to ask what items were half off. None, I was told! WTF! I found the clothes to be severely wrinkled and thrown on hangers. Their prices were much higher than what they should sell for. Shame on them for charging sooo much for ratty clothes AND make you self checkout your items. This store always seem disorganized and dirty. But as horrendous as that sounds the prices are equally or more horrendous. A dirty popcorn machine for 17.00. 150.00 for a purse I asked the worker behind the counter if it was real, she said I don't know.. hmm for that price you need to know. A J.crew purse for 25.00 . Dresses, pants, starting at over 10.00 Coats, over $20. Seriously stop. I've already spent enough time so if you know you know. Was a great store all of them Were. As soon as they became popular in the last year the prices of Rose. Z5 to 50 percent You can buy products they sell at the dollar tree for literally a dollar and they charge you 3.99 or more. Stopped by tonight get some last minute Christmas decorations and the prices have nearly doubled. Used Christmas lights they were charging $14 Christmas themed sofa pillows that were being sold for 13 and $15. They had towels that used to be 4.99 but now 1099. Sit down Karen! God people are awful. People ragging on retail staff because they didn't get their bean flicked by every employee as soon as they walk in the store. Get over your self important entitled ass. No one owes you a cabaret for showing up to thrift shop. Oooooffff I mean stop. if i could give 0 stars i would. I used to come here all the time, but clothes here are EXPENSIVE. DO NOT SHOP HERE. I came in during early noon to get some last minute things. after ringing it up on the self register check-out i notified by the manager that they were only expecting cash, due to a wifi shortage. As i was leaving the store, asked the manager if i should leave a phone number cause i was worried about the items being taken or lost and she replied " we have a store phone" I left and let the manager know i was coming back. I came back 40 mins later with cash. I then waited for the same manger to finish ringing up the customers cause she had known where my items were prior. 20 mins had past so I asked the same manager. I asked if she could ring me up cause I came in pior and that I had meetings to attend. She states that she told me that items were by the window and that I should go get it, but I do NOT recall her telling me this info. She then pulls out an employee to take her place, so she could do other things. The items thay I managed to recover, were not even mine, half the stuff was missing , so I scavenger through the carts of items for my purchases . read more

If you're looking for framed pictures small and large that are popular at stores, handmade paintings, or solid wood clothing wardrobes you'll be in luck! I have hit it big every single time I have come in here! Yes there is a bunch of stuff here you have to look over but it is so worth it there is something here for everyone. You can find some good clothes here, but steer clear of the kitchen appliances. I bought a dehydrator, took it home, it didn't work, and they won't take it back. (You can exchange clothing and shoes, but everything else is final sale.) What a waste. Very disappointing. read more

As a Senior and a Veteran, I do not like the way we are treated at this store! The help is rude! They make believe they can not understand me and walk away when asked a question! Clothes on the floor they do not pick up ! They talk on the phone while on the floor! They accuse people of stealth with no proof.! I used to come here to look for used records but it appears there is one guy that basically hovers here all day waiting for new records and cds, I've even seen the woman in back bring the cart *directly to him* like they are working together or something. I grew up shopping here ever since I was a little kid and it was the place I could actually get a toy or a cute dress because it was decently priced. I still come here very very often but with a grain of salt. Prices went up during covid (understandable) but then only continued to rise. I came across a pair of uses infants shoes for 10.99 and there was nothing special about them at all. They literally get their inventory FOR FREE and even with these prices shelves STILL are getting bought out. Thrifting has gotten "trendier" so i begrudgingly but totally understand an increase in prices. Go ahead and charge 40$ for a vintage leather jacket but why things like infants shoes, drapes, flip flops etc????? In many sections it appears there are set price tiers like 3-5 tiers and in most sections it never goes below like 2.50. Idk i have torn thoughts because I still find the best stuff here but its borderline unethical. Ps. This is NOT a nonprofit. My family has been donating stuff to savers for YEARS and only recently have we realized that it is NOT akin to a goodwill or a boomerangs. However they present themselves as a charity but they are fully for profit. This puts a worse taste in my mouth about price increases. read more

The strange things you find wandering through here.....along with the characters you see are entertainment enough. Watching teenagers attempting to load a couch that will never fit, a lady sitting on the floor with stacks of books around her that she most likely won't purchase, the strange odor of used clothing, and someone arguing with the cashier. Gotta love the thrift shop. This one is exceptionally large, and while I feel that some items are overpriced you can still find some great things here. Huge selection of books, huge amount of clothes and dishes. Also....if you like strange figurines you are in luck as well. And the best thing is it isn't Goodwill! read more

She was training 2 employees on an exchange and told me I was not able to go out to my car to get my receipt once I realized it was the wrong one. She would not let me cancel my sale once I realized I was only able to return one item. They have NO DRESSING ROOMS and I saw many tags with the wrong size so if you don't look at the tag for the actual item you risk getting it in the entirely wrong size. I had to spend money I wasn't planning on spending when I was just going in for an exchange because there's nowhere to try the clothes on in store so you HAVE TO go back and spend MORE MONEY! read more

Savers is by far one of my favorite thrift stores, extensive selection, reasonable prices, wide variety! It is rare that I leave the store without some kind of special find or exciting score! This was my first visit to this particular location (I have also visited the ones in New Bedford, MA and East Providence, RI) and I would have no problem returning if the need ever arose. There's something to say about this store, when you run into friends, that don't even live in the area. Especially when you are from out of town as well! To my surprise, I ran into a friend who lives in Foxboro! I'm from Rehoboth. . . and we meet in West Roxbury, in search of deals! What are the chances! Seems like we share a mutual respect for this store. Came here in search of unique items to wear for an Ultimate White Party (you wear all white to a club party!). Didn't find anything to add to my outfit, but I did find a pair of Champion sneakers I had been looking at in the mall for weeks for $7 and a nice cream colored fitted jacket for $6. Not bad at all! Come here for all your clothing needs, whether its for a new summer wardrobe or for a themed upcoming get together. You're sure to find something to fit your need! What is up with this place?! It's a mess! I get it a thrift store but Shoot what a hot mess and Who prices the items? Every single figurine I picked up was cracked, chipped or broken and they are asking retail prices!! The picture/ frame section needs an overhaul. The larger pictures are in a useless rack where they all tumble out when you try to look causing more damage and the piece of glass just shoved in there was troubling. Forget the furniture department. I don't scare easily, but I was petrified to even go near it. The store in Framingham is not any better. I like this Savers because they usually have a decent sized furniture section. The aisles are usually well organized with a lot of different items to flip through. Certain days group homes and nursing homes get dropped off for a shopping trip so be careful because then it becomes really, really crowded inside. The parking lot is also usually full so you have to wait sometimes for someone to leave. read more

Sometimes you can find decent stuff. I loved Savers but I have noticed the past 3 months that they have jacked up their prices. Used T shirts at $4 with a Walmart brand name...that you can get brand new at Walmart for the same price? They have also jacked their prices on designer jeans to $30. I can go to Davis Square thrift stores and get a better quality used designer jeans for $10-15 less. This has all been recent. read more
