Awful remodel. I've gone to this goodwill for almost a decade specifically for their dishes and glassware. It was the best in New England, no exaggeration. Now it's terrible. There's 1/4 of the space there used to be for dishes and glassware. They replaced their tall metal racks with awful low rise shelves. In addition to holding less material it's extremely hard to see anything on the shelves especially the lowest ones. So much of the space that was reserved for china and glassware is now filled with awful IKEA baskets and plastic garbage. I'm very disappointed. I know of many regulars and students who went here for the glassware and China. They're shooting themselves in the foot by removing most of it. read more

I went back in June while I was waiting to meet someone nearby. I was amazed that merchandise bought at lower prices by a donor was marked up higher than the tag. It seems that it's best to buy new elsewhere for a lower price. The prices are creeping up, the staff is surly and unfriendly and some quite rude. Once in a while there's a cordial cashier. The supposed "better or boutique" wall is full of really worn stuff and low end brands. Sad as many people rely on resale items especially immigrants. read more

This goodwill is poppin! Macklemore's thrift store was in my head the entire time I was shopping here. I have never seen a goodwill with such nice stuff! There must be millionaires or rich Chinese exchange students that live in the area. I found a Armani exchange dress shirt for five dollars!!! Normally those would be $70 more. I also found a pretty nice Express dress shirt for $10. The store is bigger than you think and goes back farther than you'd expect. Also if you're inclined, I saw a lot of nice computers including Macs that were dirt cheap if you're looking for that. Great spot for getting really cool deals on designer duds albeit used. This branch is smack in the middle of an upper middle class residential neighborhood nOt to mention in the middle of BU campus so lots of fancy stuff gets donated there. This is a pretty good Goodwill. I saw a couple of unique pieces including a homemade "autumn" outfit. Every item I purchased at this location was priced at $6 or less, including a genuine Prada bag. Overall, the space is a little grungy but there is a lot of merchandise and the racks are well organized. I would definitely revisit this store on one of their discount days. read more

I love thrifting so anytime I see a thrift store I'm there! This location is a bit small, probably because it's on Comm Ave but the day I went it was a little messier than normal; it also didn't seem as organized as other locations I have shopped at. I also couldn't seem to find an employee for help besides the one at the register, who was obviously busy ringing up customers. I'm really into this Goodwill. They're pretty big, and for Goodwills I would say its fairly clean - pretty cluttered and disorganized, but at least nothing seems grimy or gross. They have a pretty good selection of women's and household stuff (men's stuff is pretty lacking). We stocked our kitchen with dishware from here - they actually have some really nice dish sets - we got a nice set of pristine Crate & Barrel bowls for only $2 - and you can grab some whimsical things like a cat teapot or a spiffy olive oil dispenser for a few bucks. Their clothes can be hit and miss, and it's really a matter of taking the time to sort through the piles of crap that they have that's stained, ripped, or just plain ugly. Otherwise, fun group activity to just mindlessly browse through. I think donations are mix of college students and older Back Bay residents, so you have a lot of stuff like lightly worn H&M and Topshop mixed in with really crazy paisey-shoulder-pad power woman blouses from the 60s. Changing rooms can get a little hectic but I don't really like trying on thrift clothes I haven't thoroughly washed so I don't really use them. Staff isn't too helpful so expect to just be on your own. I do think this Goodwill has more gems than the others in the city, maybe because of the demographic who donate. I've found a great Lilly Pulitzer sheath dress, a bunch of Helmut Lang with the tags still on, and piles of like new stuff from J. Crew/Ann Taylor/Calvin Klein/Banana, all in s/xs sizes. Best find is definitely like new $3,000 Loro Piano baby cashmere cardigan for only $8 (seriously who throws this stuff away). I get the sense that the staff kind of just price donations based really quickly and often don't recognize the brands/quality/retail price of the stuff they're going through - for instance, once I saw an Anne Klein coat for $30 right next to a Theory coat for only $20, probably because the latter looked a lot plainer. I think that's why a lot of the other reviews complain about the prices - yes, there's a lot of garbage that's priced very high (who would buy a broken VCR for anything above $0 or sweat stained jeans for $10??) but if you're thrifting, I definitely believe it's really your job as the shopper to distinguish the garbage from the gems. The staff have no idea what they're doing when they're pricing (and I hope it stays that way!) so if you have an eye for brands/retailers (I know, pretty much exclusively the population that doesn't shop at Goodwill) you can come out with some unbelievable finds. read more

Everybody loves a trip to Goodwill. This location had a large selection, especially of mens pants and glassware. I felt the prices were pretty high, but I guess that's what you get when you're in a major US city. The sad part is, the clothing prices are not affordable for those that need Goodwill the most. I was beyond psyched when I learned that the space that formerly was home to Jasmine Sola would be occupied by a Goodwill. Psyched, I tell you. Goodwill is just so much more fun! I was in here a few days ago to browse and just get acquainted with the store. They have a really nice assortment of women's clothes (all grouped by color) and some home items like glasses, mugs, random porcelain chickens, etc. Very very tiny men's selection and a book selection that I was rather unimpressed with. It's also not particularly well organized. I did manage, however, to find some nice cookbooks among the chaos. Now, at the risk of sounding like the cheapest person on the face of the earth, I have to say that it was rather expensive. Now, you may be saying, WTF, it's a Goodwill, but hear me out, fellow bargain lovers. Remember that most of the clothes have been previously worn. The shirts, which were my main area of focus were selling for $4.99 and many of these were tee-shirts or polos. Now, I can easily get a perfectly nice NEW tee-shirt or polo shirt on sale and with coupons at a store like Macy's or Gap for about $10. If you really want a bargain tee-shirt (also NEW) check out Zapato's in the South End where you can easily get tee-shirts for around $3. Also, you can find NEW tee-shirts and polos at places like Marshall's and TJ Maxx for around $5 as well. Of course, if you can snag something designer, go for it, but for just a basic USED tee shirt, I do not want to spend $4.99. Also, the home goods like the glasses and coffee mugs were ridicuous! I can get nice mugs and glasses at garage sales for next to nothing (like 10-25 cents) and here they are charging 99 cents. Okay, so now that I've got that across, I will mention that it would be worth getting something here if you can find something that's designer but the only things I saw here remotely designer were some Ralph Lauren and Calvin Klein. I do have to say though that they had some really cute retro tee-shirts that you'd be hard pressed to find anywhere else. I especially enjoyed one shirt that was plastered with several photos of Mao and had some writing in Chinese (no idea what it said), but after realizing I'd have absolutely no occasion to really wear this to, I refrained from buying. Rest assured, I will continue to check in periodically to browse. A very welcome addition to the neighborhood. read more

A Recent Conversation with a Manager: "Are these shoes returnable? I can't tell if they're genuine or not."(me inquiring about a pair of Prada shoes they had priced at $50) Manger-"No, but if they're fake, you can probably just sell them to get you're money back" I stand in silence completely perplexed about who is buying counterfeit shoes for $50. This is a OK store, that is a nice size, with lots of merchandise rotation. Parking for cars and bikes is terrible(they took out all the bike racks when they started this crappy protected bike lane like a year ago), but it is right on the Green Line. Unfortunately, much like the Davis Square location there is some weird price inflation especially with possibly counterfeit items. This is compounded by a confusing return policy. I also find it very strange how Goodwill has significantly higher prices that the Garment District when it comes to certain types of alleged luxury goods(note that the Garment District has a incoherent pricing system). This store does have the nicest employees of any local Goodwill, unlike say the Central Square store, where the cashiers look like they want to crawl in a hole and die. Overall, a good store if you're looking for a average pair of jeans or a shirt(Levi's, Gap, whatever), but not so much for special or vintage items. read more

I DEFINITELY give this five starts. The place is GIGANTIC and I have found some awesome stuff - for example: a new humidifier that still had the box and instructions for $15; tons of bowls and plates; a new red, rectangular plate with a wrought-iron stand in its box; and some serving bowls for cheap. The products vary from time to time, but the it is well worth going. I believe that it's location near BU and university students makes it a prime donation spot, so there's lots of merchandise coming in. I could be wrong - maybe that's not how it works. Additionally, I've seen new merchandise - probably overstock from Target and such that they're selling off. Wish I had gotten a set of votive candle holders when I had the chance. Quite a walk for me, but it has definitely yielded some good stuff. read more

Cleaner than other Goodwill's I have gone to back home in New York. I don't shop for clothes here - I usually just go back to browse through the kitchen supplies and the book sections. Walking through the section of board games in the far back actually gave me a few brief moments of nostalgia when I saw "Chutes and Ladders" and "Boggle". I was about to buy "Boggle" so I opened up the box to find that all of the cubes were taken out and the sand had solidified into a solid block. They did have an interesting book selection. Overall, the place was organized and tidy and the staff was really helpful at the counter. read more

Not the biggest good will I've been in but definitely has all the basics (clothes, music, DVDs, books, etc.). The men's section does leave a lot to be desired but I feel that's true of basically all thrift stores (and even regular stores). I love that it's right next to a T stop and around so many other things, so great location. read more

Well, I've certainly been to more put together Goodwills across the country, this one seems a bit crowded and just feels more like a dusty thrift store. That being said, the deals are swell and the selection for men is pretty decent. All my interactions with staff have been fine except once. One day one teller was rather rude to two elderly Hispanic women, when they asked for a senior discount she actually asked for their IDs and then made a rather rude face when the woman said she didn't have one. I on the other hand was a bit frustrated by their exchange policy. Though I had a receipt, since I didn't have a tag they wouldn't let me exchange one blazer (a very very very nice brand) for another (nowhere near as nice) that actually fit well. I would have expected a bit more goodwill from a store considering I was just making an exchange. I just ended up giving them the blazer back, what good will it do sitting under my bed? read more

Blahhhh. I dragged by boyfriend here because I am a thrifting junkie & obsessed with finding gems. This location-& all items in it- was like the exhale when you pop a balloon. It was terribly overpriced & underwhelming. $15 for a threadbare forever 21 sweater that costs $8 retail? No thank you. No real impressive finds here. There always new stuff coming in, I saw a lot of people during my 1,5h there turning in stuff! People went right ahead to go through before even the staff got to it haha!! People are wild, its fun! And it was cheap and big!! The queue went fast this time, last time it was about 10 minutes. Guess they were more busy then. Lots of regular designer brands, like Levis, timberland, hilfiger adidas and so on. FUN and cheap! Womensection and child section was big, but i didnt really go there. I went for the male section and also furnishing stuff. FUN! found a really nice wall-art piece! That was $14, but totally worth it. Maybe the most expensive in the store haha!! read more

I love thrift stores and I really want to love this place, but they make it so hard. On the plus side, it's very clean and sometimes you can find barely worn clothes from good brands like the pristine banana republic sweater I got today, but you have to pick through a lot of crap. On the downside, even though it's cheap, it still seems so much more expensive than any Goodwill I have ever been to. Do I really want to spend $4.99 on someone's old road race tshirt with yellow armpits. Really? Why do they even stock this stuff. Anyway, I was happy to see that they were offering 25% off with student ID this month. Then I overheard an employee give advice to another employee while they were pricing some items. It went something like this, "...remember that it's 25% off. I price everything higher during this entire month and then for Halloween just go wild." Well, that explains it I guess. And just in case you're already looking for that awesome ugly sweater for the parties this holiday season, they already have them set aside for $12-15. You could always just go to the clearance rack at any discount retailer and buy a brand new ugly piece of crap sweater, but that might not be in the spirit of things. read more

I love this Goodwill. This, and a Goodwill I went to in San Diego once, are probably the best I've been to. I honestly chalk it up to the socioeconomic bracket of the people who do most of the donating. I think the colleges nearby = kids with semi-wealthy parents who are in a hurry to clean out their closets at the end of a semester and therefore end up donating really great stuff. I always do find the best stuff in late December or mid May. And I have found REALLY nice stuff here. My favorites are the several cashmere or angora sweaters I've paid between $5-10 for. Each. In fact I think the majority of items *I've* bought from here are Anne Taylor or Calvin Klein. I've also gotten a sweet chrome wine rack that must be modern but looks like something out of the 50's, awesome Revere cookware that can pretty much only be found in thrift stores now, some beautiful sherry glasses that look like they must b carnival glass, some cool early 90's CD's (Spin Doctors, Counting Crows, Indigo Girls), and - my favorite purchase - a pair of brown chunky-heel knee-high boots that fit me like a glove and look like they were worn once. I was mad when I went last spring because of their multiple pairs of $7 kitten heels, I couldn't find any that fit me. I also really like their accessories. Before they revamped their jewelry case I would routinely find silver jewelry (my favorite ring is a spiral Taxco ring I found there several years ago) or Bakelite and have also walked away with some really good handbags. Love it. In fact, writing this makes me think I might go today.... :) Happy Thrifting. read more

I LOVE this place. Reading the other reviews, I'm kind of surprised by the negative comments about the clothing. I'm a student at BU, but I'm originally from Southern California, where the thrift stores definitely do not have the same kind of designer treasures that I've found at this place. If you're looking for preppy essential brands like Banana Republic, J. Crew, and Ann Taylor, this is totally the right place for you. One of my few complaints is that there's a pretty slim selection of dresses. Otherwise though, if you want to save on name brands, this is an awesome store; if you're more into the one-of-a-kind, true vintage idea, Garment District is probably a better idea. Also, back to the California tangent: DUDE. Do people in Massachusetts just periodically decide they want to throw out all of their gorgeous, practically brand new designer clothes??!! (Not that I mind: to those people: thankyouthankyouthankyou!) Just a few examples of what I've found here: Converse by John Varvatos coat: originally $500, purchased for $7; Michael by Michael Kors heels: originally $120, purchased for $10; Milly coat: originally $350, purchased for $10. Plus I once found a BCBG dress with the tags still on it for $258 (and bought it for $10.) That being said, I go to this place a LOT and I don't mind digging. But I've picked up a few tricks: make friends with the employees, especially the really tall guy. A lot of times, they'll give you a better deal on stuff if you just ask. Also, check the racks behind the counter; there's often designer stuff there that hasn't been put on the shelves yet. The book selection is also great and I've stocked my dorm room with the super-inexpensive kitchenware. In addition, the store is surprisingly clean and organized for a thrift store. And, while this may seem somewhat contradictory, as I write this adoring review of Goodwill, I am simultaneously trying to figure out ways to wean myself from its allure, because my tiny dorm room simply is not big enough to hold all of the designer goodies I find here!! read more

I love thrift stores in general. They are my addiction, hobby, and the means i used to attain my entire wardrobe (eh, okay for the most part). I was overjoyed when i herd this one was opening near me. But soon after visiting it, I was very, very disappointed. The building is huge and jam-packed. With a careful comb through of EVERY rack i was able to find some decent stuff. The men's section is TINY compared to the huge amount of woman's clothes. but the shoe rack is the reason for the second star. This would an Okay thrift store if it weren't for the over priced blanket pricing systems that they use is only made obvious at the register. Most sweaters and tops cost 7.99$ and pants cost more, as do dresses. Also, it is up the the cashier to decide if something is a "hoddie" or a "sweater", the only real difference being a 4 dollar mark-up. you are better off with Urban Renewals down the road in Allston, or Sister Thrift in Watertown read more

I've noticed from going to thrift stores that I prefer them in theory more than practice, and this Goodwill is no exception. The store is exceptionally clean for a thrift store *cough Cheap Chic cough* and doesn't sell disgusting things like used rusty razors *cough Cheap Chic cough*. They have a decent selection of things, but the store is so disorganized you have to be really, really patient looking for stuff- a kind of patience I don't usually have. The thing about thrift stores is that most of the stuff in there is something someone else gave away. Most of the time, people don't get rid of stuff for no reason, so a lot of the stuff isn't that great. I mean, I really don' t need a chipped champagne glass that says "Pittsfield High Reunion 1997" or "Dr. Healthy's Guide to Your Sciatica". The store is pretty badly organized, with clothes by color instead of size and books just chucked on the wall- not separated out by category It's not that hard to sort non-fiction from fiction!. So you might, might, if you search carefully, find a popular-titled book, but you'll have to wade through "Arthritis and You: 1985 edition", "Satan's Plan to Destroy America", and "Chicken Soup for the Busboy's Soul" in order to find it. The number of worthless self-help books in there is astonishing and makes me lose faith in humanity. The clothes fall prey to the same level of disorder as the books. While you might, after careful searching, find a worn-once designer top, you'll find even more irregularly shrunken shirts with yellowed armpits and bleach stains. I just don't understand why you'd buy a visibly dirty shirt for $5 at Goodwill when you could buy a brand new one at Target for the same price. That being said, my boyfriend found an apple peeler for making apple pies that was super cheap and still with its box, and their donations people are really nice and have a stack of receipts ready for you to take home for your taxes. read more

This Goodwill usually has some pretty awesome stuff, and it's one of the thrift stores that has remained cheap (as in, actual people without much money can shop here, not just hipsters trying to look poor). I paid $11 for all my dishes (three large plates, four small plates, three bowls, and three glasses). And it's good quality stuff. Of course they have TERRIBLE THINGS from the depths of hell too, but it's easy to distinguish the total crap from the things that just need to be washed. Since I live a block away, I have furnished most of my apartment with stuff from here. I have gone from having no furniture, lights, or dishes to having a decently furnished apartment in about three days-- and I doubt I have spent over $100. They lent me one of their handy push carts to walk my table home since I have no car, which was really nice. I've had significantly better luck here in the summer when most of the college students are gone, but it might just be that I'm checking for stuff more often. The staff sometimes is unsure of pricing and slow, but never rude. So all is well. Highly recommend. read more

I love this Goodwill. I come in as much as I can when I'm in the area. I've gotten some great bargains, like sweaters for $5 in perfect condition, a beautiful pashmina scarf for $5, and some small handbags/clutch purses for $4 or $5. That being said, you do have to spend some time looking through a lot of worn-out or damaged items, but you can find gems. My most recent prize was an Ann Taylor blazer in like-new condition, $8, I think? (I do think there's a little inconsistency in some of their pricing). One of the managers was a little rude to me at the register, but some of the other cashiers are great. Overall, it's an adventure to come in here and easily spend an hour or more pawing around. read more

"WOW! Its so clean in here! And it kinda set-up like a REAL shop!" were the first words out of my mouth upon entering. After a closer look, its decent. I stopped by with some fellow Yelpers and we scored the backpack we were looking for, as well as I got a pair of Chadwick summer sandals for $12. If you like cheap shoes, its a good place to check because not only do they have vintage shoes but it seems like they get lots of dead stock so there are lots of never been worn shoes too! For me, a thrift store is about going on an adventure and unearthing treasure, and this Goodwill just seemed filled with the basics. Its worth checking out, but I still prefer Urban Renewals, except for the fact that here, money goes to charity. read more

I checked out this Goodwill after being seriously disappointed in Urban Renewals (I still don't see what all the hooplah is about that place- sure they have a lot of stuff, but nearly all of it is nothing to call home about) and it was, as my star rating denotes, "OK". The selection isn't too large (they barely had any women's jeans) and the prices are higher than I've seen at most Goodwill locations. I know that the employees just assign prices based on what they believe it's worth, but $15 for a pair of used no-name brand pants is rather silly in my opinion. My advice would be to go to the Goodwill in Central, as it has better quality items and much better pricing ($8 Coogi and 7 For All Mankind jeans in excellent condition? This place seems to have like 12 people working here at all times, so it stays really neat. Maybe they need to employ that many people to keep everything organized by color? (Should I be concerned that all the staff wear gloves to touch the same clothes I'm touching?) -1 star because there are only 3 dressing rooms and a staff member has to loudly bang on the doors every couple of minutes... but that's part of the experience! read more

Somewhere close to Paradise is Goodwill. Literally and figuratively. (Zing!) I've been here a few times and have always found things that I wasn't even actually looking for. I managed to outfit our apartment dishware cupboard here for $15, and will be back for some nice stemware when I have money again. They have a great selection of dishes, mugs, etc., and many nice looking lamps if you're just starting out in a new place. I started browsing the racks for fun, and ended up with a sweater, jacket, and pair of pants too. As far as thrift store prices go, I've seen cheaper and I've seen much more expensive, but the quality, cleanliness, and I-want-to-wear-this levels of the stuff here are well matched with the moderate prices. Still haven't found a choice thrift store in the area, but this Goodwill is up there. read more

After a scarring experience at Urban Renewals at the beginning of the year, I was hesitant to return there and found myself nearby at this Goodwill. I am relieved to say that it was a very pleasant experience, and that I even came away with 4 items! I am attempting to not buy anything new for one year (and have 9 months left to go) and will probably find myself frequenting this Goodwill often in the near future. I only gave 4 stars because at the checkout, I asked the casher if she would discount this great wool sweater I had found because it had several holes in it (that I knew I could sew up, but still: it's the principle of the thing, isn't it?). She said no, proceeded to try and sell the thing on me. I said no. And then, after purchasing my items, I realized I had purchased the hole-y sweater! She snuck it right in my bag! Truthfully, I can sew it up and it's a great find, but still. Minus one star for the trickery. (Or maybe I should give her a star for her cleverness? Hm...) read more

Staff is extremely rude. I understand it's Goodwill, but a little decency is expected. The manager got mad at me for a mistake that her employee made and told me she was doing me a big favor by giving me store credit for a "tagless" sweater that I returned, and told me to make sure next time that everything had a tag before I bought it. It would've been okay if she hadn't been condescending and rude about it. I kept trying to talk and the manager, and two other staff members kept cutting me off and talking over me. Do I work at your store? No, so I shouldn't have to do your staff's work. It seems that very few people who work here actually know how to speak to customers. As far as clothes go, they seem to have a decent selection, probably due to their location (colleges students who have the $ to be able to clear out their closets and donate really nice articles of clothing). Their prices are little high up for what I'm used to seeing at other Goodwill locations and other thrift stores. $15 for a J. Crew shirt? Still a great deal but that's something that Buffalo Exchange would do, and they're consignment. Also, a closer inspection of inventory would be good. I saw a bunch of clothes with holes and stains being sold for $10+ because of brand name. Those should be a lot cheaper. read more

Goodwill stores generally tend to be trashy, and well, gross-and even if you can occasionally find a score, the items seem to have come from a recently deceased elderly gentleman. At least the men's clothing. The women's clothing might be a different story, but I dunno as I don't cruise the women's section. Anyways, if you were not paying attention to the sign as you walked in, you might actually believe that you were in a cool used clothing store and not a Goodwill. Witch is ironic because this is a cool used clothing store. It is actually clean, fairly well organized, and doesn't have that smell that seems to permeate every other Goodwill store across this nation. There is only one reason for this: BU. A good amount of donations come from BU students. Don't believe me? Grab a seat on Q' doba's patio and you'll witness students dropping donations off all day long * ** The men's clothing selection is generally pretty good and they have many items that will appeal to most shoppers under 40. I say under 40 because the selection is not that hip or trendy, just decent. I mean, I have never come across an ironic t-shirt (you know, the kind that the dive-bar hipsters wear) or something from American Apparel (you know, the stuff that the art-star hipster wears). I also say under 40 because of the aforementioned comment about the lack of grandpa clothing, which, come to think of it, is also a favorite of many hipsters. I mean, what is more ironic than a 22 year old who wears his grand father's clothing? If he wore your grand father's clothing? Anyways, yeah this particular Goodwill store is pretty cool. Merchandise turns over pretty quick so if you see something that you like you should buy it at that moment or have them hold on to it while you go and get some cash. Otherwise, don't expect it to be there tomorrow. The furniture selection is pretty good, too, but I question any couch that comes from a dorm room or an 18 to 24 year old's apartment. I've been there, I done that, and just like every male knows not to stand barefoot on the rug cozy thing that sits in front of the toilet, I know better than to sit on any couch that comes from a young adult's abode. The book selection is pretty good. Nothing too heavy, but you will more than likely find something of interest. The appliances/kitchen ware section is the only thing that pisses me off about this place. You see, those of an older generation tend to have cool knick knacks and decorative plates, and when they die, their stuff ends up at Goodwill. Yes, I like cool ceramic figurines and I collect plates. There, I said it. Happy? What they do have is in good shape from what I can see, and you can find new dinner sets still in the box for a few bucks. The shoe selection seems good, although I have not seen many mens shoes on display unless mens fashion in footwear design has changed recently. Very recently. But kids are into all kinds of whacky things these days, so who knows? The staff is pretty cool. They are friendly and willing to chat it up with you. If you go in on a regular basis, they will treat you like an old friend. If you are not familiar with Boston wit, some things they say might go over your head or you may think they just insulted you. This branch of the Boston Goodwill system is just OK as far as clothes go. Nothing was super special to me and a fair amount of their stock was priced higher than their standard pricing. However, if furniture and housewares are what you're looking for, this Goodwill did have a nice selection of both. It seems like the wares were nicer than other branches as well. So yeah, if it's clothes you're looking for, go to the Goodwill in Davis. If it's furniture, than this is probably a pretty good option. read more

This is one of the better Goodwill stores I've been too, probably because of it's proximity to BU. You can find excellent pieces here. I found a cashmere sweater for less than 10 bucks and a cheap knockoff Coach bag. The books can get interesting. There's nothing better than seeing three Twilight books on the same shelf. If you really dig around treasures will appear. Cons: The staff is rude. I found a practically unused Kate Spade bag lying in the disgusting pillow pile. I was told by a staff member it was $30 bucks. Why keep a find like that out of the 'Boutique' section? Did she want it herself? Who knows, who cares. It just annoyed me at the time. Bring Purell. I am definitely in agreement with just about everything Morgan F said (we shopped here together too!). Luckily I found a good backpack (I had two to choose from), so I left a happy camper. But the store left a lot to be desired. It was very clean and there were lots of employees but it wasn't a place of thrift store "finds". Those are what I relish. My .49 cent pink striped shirt I found at age 16 in a smelly little thrift store off of Fruitridge Rd in Sacramento. I still wear it to this day and usually receive a compliment on it. My black jeans with a missing pocket that fit my ass so damn good. I also usually get a compliment or two when I wear them (on the jeans, not the ass). I didn't see things like that at this thrift store. Although, to be fair I didn't spend a ton of time looking either.
