I went into this shop last year and felt super lucky to have found it. I bought a couple of really wonderful pieces and started following on Instagram keeping an eye out for other great things. The girls in the store were super friendly and helpful. The owner is clearly picky about what she accepts into her well curated shop. I'll be in the Boston are next week and will make sure to visit the store. Super cute area and street that it is located. read more

If I could leave zero stars I would. I've never left a store quicker in my life. Vintage Taste makes you ring a bell to get in and allows only five people in the store at a time. Apparently that still isn't enough for the owner to let three customers browse without hovering over them. She looked us up and down, seemed to judge the consignment-store bags we were carrying, and kept insisting on taking them even after I said I was fine. When I declined again, she laughed and said she was "trying to be nice." It felt like we were being watched because she thought we might steal something, while also being pressured to buy something to prove we belonged there. Then she asked where we were from. When we said California, she replied, "Oh, that explains it." The contempt was hard to miss. If you're going to judge people for where they're from and what bags they walk in with, at least spare them the fake friendliness. The attitude in this store was uglier than anything on the racks. I wouldn't spend a dollar here. read more

Had a horrible experience in this store. My friend and I who are both Black, were clearly targeted in this store. As soon as we walked in, the woman working the floor was breathing down our necks, following us all around and kept trying to direct us to the sale section. She also took my bags out of my hands without even giving me the option of placing them down myself, as if she was afraid we were going to steal. We then went to the sale section that she kept pushing us to go to, and then she FOLLOWED US THERE and stayed there watching us. Mind you, there was another woman in the store who was white, whom she did not follow or keep pressing about the sale rack. We immediately took our bags and walked out. It is 2026. This is absolutely unacceptable read more

If I could leave less than a 1 I would. I walked in and the woman was absolutely dreadful to me. I had a bag full of high quality items and before I could even open the bag to present my options, the owner (name she never kindly disclosed) told me 'I don't take any garbage, nothing wrinkled, and nothing used.' Mind you-- it's a vintage clothing store? I tried to tell her I have items (Prada, Gucci, Chanel) that are very nice and she dismissed me in front of other customers to whom she was much more kind, pleasant, and patient. Absolutely would *never* consider, suggest, or recommend, read more

I don't see a reason for the salesperson to watch me like a hawk when I was trying to look at the pieces, and proceed to act like I don't know how to hold and look at a purse--the entire store looks like a minimal selection of overpriced rejects from TheRealReal. No wonder Boston gets a pretentious rep. read more

We enjoyed our visit to Vintage Taste. The owners are sweet and chatted with us about their story and recommendations for Boston. They just moved into a new location (across the street from their previous location) 3 days ago which I am told it now is like 5X the size of their previous location. It has dressing rooms and 3 floors. They had gorgeous pieces for sale that were in great quality for a good price. It was personally out of our budget but the prices of the quality items were a good price. I would definitely return to the store! read more

During my recent visit, I observed a discrepancy in the treatment of guests. While a group that arrived after me was granted immediate entry, I was left standing outside despite being the first to arrive. On top of this, I received a response that lacked courtesy. When I asked if I could be let in with the group of 4 (that had arrived after me) the same employee looked me up and down and denied I enter the store. I just moved here and this was my first bad experience with customer service. I hope the treatment amongst all guests improves and no one else feels the same judgment I experienced while trying to enter. This is just a warning for those who do want to provide business to this store - whether buying or selling, I encourage everyone to chose a different store that promotes inclusivity. read more

I was just here an hour ago and left shocked. I'm still shocked. The owner is a bigoted ableist and kicked me out of the store because she would not allow my service animal "near her Chanel." I explained to her that my dog was not a pet, it was a service animal, and it was against federal law to discriminate against people with disabilities. Her response was, "I don't care." Unbelievable. I've never been treated like that as a patron at any of the actual Chanel retail stores, so it was shocking that this woman treated me this way at a consignment store, never mind the fact that I can't believe there are people who still discriminate against other human beings simply because they have a disability and need accommodation. read more

Vintage Taste - Used, Vintage & Consignment Near Me - Boston, Massachusetts

It's been a few years since I reviewed Vintage Taste but feel the need to register another review since they have moved to a larger storefront on Charles St. Heli's collection is extraordinary for quality, pricing, and unique items from coveted designers. Now the collection has grown to include other labels like Isabel Marant, Ulla Johnson, Chloe, Stella McCartney, etc...so the store's offerings are more diverse but the high quality remains the same. Vintage Taste is by far--the best shop on Charles Street! read more

Without a doubt, in both the personal and attentive service of Heli Paul and their staff in addition to the quality and carefully curated selection of high end merchandise, Vintage Taste takes consignment to a level most, if not all, others in the field strive to achieve. read more

Lovely boutique with beautiful pre-owned pieces. I was impressed with the staff and their assistance and hope to return or shop via their extensive website. read more

Was followed everywhere through the store, even as I walked out even though I was one of three customers there. Insulting to say the least. Also having a doorbell to ring to even get in? Really? Mens selection was thin and overpriced. Definitely not one of the more welcoming stores on this street. read more

Rudest store owner I have ever interacted with. I have been buying and selling high end consignment for well over a decade and have never been compelled to give a bad review to a store before. This place is not worth a moments stop. read more

Very nice lady assisted me in purchasing a pair of heels. The collection includes timeless Chanel pieces along with a collection of vintage purses. Would recommend if looking to get a great deal on second hand items. read more

The owners of this store are completely horrible. They act like they are doing you a favor when you walk in. They seem very entitled and stuck up. I do not recommend this shop, as its highway robbery. I could go to TJ Max and get the same products new cheaper. STAY CLEAR OF THESE CRAZIES read more

I was in this shop a few days ago, the older woman with a slight European accent who works there is terrible, I've never met anyone so rude She should reconsider a job in customer service- she ruined my mood for the rest of the day. I'm sorry I wasted my time in this store read more

It's a nice store with many nice items, however, the most remarkable thing about it is the owner, Heli. I looked through the store with a friend who found an Chanel jacket she liked. When she tried it on, it seemed a bit large on her but before I could say anything Heli commented, "It doesn't fit you". Her professionalism and honesty were remarkable. My friend thanked her and didn't purchase it. Once outside the store, she said that she would purchased it and I confirmed that it didn't fit well. That was the first time I can recall a salesperson talking a customer out of a potential sale! read more

This place is such a gem-- fabulous designer finds. I have found everything from a classic Chanel dress to a Rick Owens leather jacket and everything in between. The quality is so much better than any other designer consignment I have found. Run don't walk!! read more

I have to admit, I am surprised by a couple of the reviews here on Yelp about Vintage Taste in Boston.  They just moved to a new location and a day later all these bad reviews?  I am from Boston and I have been both a consigner and a customer at Vintage Taste and I can't understand all the accusations against them.  Talking about the owner Heli and referring to her accent and age sound discriminatory to me, much less accusing her of violating federal law and calling her a bigot- harsh things to say in print. I don't know what happened, but all I can say is I went to the new store this week and it is beautiful.  The customers I saw shopping there were having friendly conversations with the people working there and seemed happy with what they were buying.  If it's my Chanel that the owner was guarding, then thank you!  My experience there is that Vintage Taste cares for all the items I bring to them as if they are their own.  It sounds like a couple of the reviews here are ready to send in the posse after Vintage Taste.  Trust me, if the posse went in, they would be enamored with the knowledgeable and delightful owner Heli and would come out loaded with bags of beautiful absolutely authentic items that are in immaculate condition (thanks to the care that they provide), and they would be telling their friends and family to shop there.  I have sent many many people there and everyone who has gone there has thanked me for it.  If you are a consigner, this is the store that pays on time and takes really great care of your items.   If you are looking to find something amazing at a great price- this store has a highly curated collection of the best of the best in luxury--now adding in the best of the best of contemporary- and they have said they will be adding a men's collection in soon.   I think it's awful that people are trying to hurt businesses now coming back from a pandemic.  Go to Vintage Taste and see for yourself what Bostonians already know--this is a great gem of a store run by really wonderful people. read more

I live in Fairfield County CT and there are PLENTY of cool vintagy stores here. So... while visiting Boston, I came upon this boutique on Charles Street. The windows were filled with beautiful things, and when walking in, I was greeted by the gracious owner, Heli. Given the quality of the items, the prices are amazingly low. Esp to where I live! Designer dresses, shoes, bags, scarves, and jewelry, line the racks; many items have never been worn before yet they're deeply discounted. This place is unlike any other consignment shop in the area. I'll definitely be back. Or steal things from my Boston friends' closets. Sorry girls!!! read more

I have never had such an awful experience. She ruined one piece of designer clothing that had been dropped off- and fully denied it- she threatened to keep another item- told me it was now hers- and only after I asked to read the agreement which states that she could keep the piece but would owe me 50% of the sale proceeds then she yells at me, tells me I am rude. I took my items and up and left this horrible place. Stay away. read more
