The owner and her friends were staring at us while my friend was in the fitting room trying items on (I looked back in her direction three times and every single time made eye contact with one of them staring at me), and when my friend left the fitting room, she accidentally turned the light off. Without hesitation, the owner snapped at her to leave the light on for the next customer. The whole time she didn't offer to help us at all, and when we tried to place the items we didn't want back on the rack, she immediately grabbed them from us. We said thank you to her for helping, and she didn't respond. Checking out was a similar experience. Even though we bought an item, will never come back. Microaggressions are real and leave a horrible impression on customers. It's not hard to do the bare minimum to be polite, and they missed the mark by a long shot.

To say if this place is good or bad is sort of like asking if people are good or evil. Like people, A to Z event sales just sort of "is". I was going to Restaurant Depot, which is in a curious area of town primarily occupied by bulk food suppliers, the USPS sorting center, and other non-pedestrian businesses. I noticed some people outside a brick warehouse building with the sign A to Z event guides, they had shopping carts filled with boxes of appliances that looked as if they may have fallen off the back of a trunk, literally. Curiosity overcame me and I went inside. I might as well have stepped into a petting zoo during feeding time one summer day. The place was hot, unpleasantly fragrant, and chaotic to say the least. There were huge mounds of clothes allegedly from "department stores," for 2 dollars apiece. I grabbed a Merona dress in some size other than my own kinda just because. They had tables and shelves full of cut rate kitchen appliances for 15 dollars, some used, some in boxes, some in pieces, few were in complete sets at this point in the day. There was much redundancy, with tons of Cooks Belgium Waffle makers, toasters, coffee makers, pressure cookers, etc. Past the kitchen ware section were rows and rows of boxes of "drug store items, $1." If I had any particular affliction or needed to restrock my medicine cabinet, it may not have been a bad place to go but like the kitchen section most boxed items (such as hair dyes) had since been opened, shuffled through, and separated from their box content siblings. Past the drug store was the home decor section, with blankets, pillows, sheets, drapes, comforters, and more. This may've been one of the better sections if you find your self needing generic comforters and sheets all of a sudden. I actually felt some comforters and bed pads made of down. If I wasn't already equipped, I probably would have grabbed some. Anyway, the point is A to Z Event Sales is certainly an experience in the most value neutral sense of the term. Worth checking out if you find your self that way. I'll shoot an update if the toaster oven I got doesn't work.

The building itself is stunning and is one of the original buildings in the area (If i'm not mistaken) and has a long hall of different food vendors, seating upstairs, and some restaurants downstairs as well as mall kiosk like shops (get rid of the crappy temu vendors, please). Overall, There's like 50 different places you could eat at that will give you drastically different experiences, so why not come as much as you can given the opportunity. This trip was my first time in about 7 years and even though the food I got was not good, I don't regret coming back to Faneuil Hall and I will absolutely be coming back on my next trip to Boston.

She was sympathetic and said she will handle it. She asked me for my number if I wanted a follow up and gave it to her! I said if it was up to me those two uncaring employees should be FIRED! They just lacked the loyalty MACYS DESERVE! I hope that MANAGER REBECCA DOES THE PROPER OUTCOME! She was very concerned and understanding of my complaint! When employees do nothing to look out for the stores best interests then they should go elsewhere and not tarnish the reputation of MACYS! Great find for unique gifts & cool clothes! The North End has gotten so hip in the last few years with a few new contemporary stores. I feel like this place has tons of great stuff that I have never seen before. Home products like plates with cool silkscreens, bird salt/pepper shakers, melamine trays with mod 60s patterns etc.. mix with stand-out one-of-a-kind jewelry by local designers and a jeweler from Buffalo New York (makes amazing layered necklaces!)...Plus a nice range of clothing from affordable to expensive, including super-cute tees from Made U Look, Jakes & Klovis, and dressy tops/dresses from Tracey Reese & Susana Monaco! WARNING: This store sucks. The girls who work here have got to get some brain pumped into their heads. The air in their head will annoy and does annoy every single person that walks in. I never seen anyone buying anything but it is always packed with clueless tourists walking around trying to digest their super sized italian lunch. I have seen almost everything in other stores throughout the city (magpie, flat of the hill,mint julep, Aunt Sadie's Candlestix, motley) for a lot cheaper than you can find at Shake the Tree. Shake the Tree is at a touristy locations so my assumption is they are trying their best to rip off the tourists, it a failed business plan. I have much better places to spend my money. read more

I LOVE to shop for cool gifts and stuff for my new apartment, and I was totally excited to find this little North End store. The buyer has a great eye and most things were really unique - such a nice change of pace from big box stores. They sell lots of great soaps & fragrances, (bought some jasmine perfume that is amazing!), nice candles, beautiful jewelry (loved the lucite by Alexis Bittar) and great clothes. Prices were really reasonable, especially for designer bags & clothes. They carry Ella Moss, Velvet & Splendid, which are great favorites of mine! One of my favorite little neighborhood shops! They carry a nice and affordable selection of gifts, clothes, jewelry etc and I always find something I like! I live in the area and I pop in here a lot because they often get new stuff in and I like that I can buy a pretty soap for a gift or a interesting tee shirt. Nice store in the North End for buying gifts for the girls in your life. My girlfriend completely loves this place and I finally went in with her today. The staff working there were very nice and attentive, helping her to buy some jewelry (gold earrings). They had lots of holiday-type things on display and trendy looking expensive women's clothes. I didn't want to do that because A I had just bought a new jacket across the street, which was in the tote bag. And B there's no way I am leaving my tote bag out in the open like that for someone to steal it the minute the sales person leaves the desk. Also treating your customers, the minute they walk in the door, like a criminal simply because they are holding a tote bag, which hello most people do today instead of using in store paper bags is not good customer service to say the least. And then telling them to just leave the tote bag sitting in the open unsecured is crazy. Would they pay for my new coat if someone stole it? I get that shoplifting is a problem but treating a potential customer with this broad brush approach isn't the solution. I've gone to many shops and stores and never encountered this policy. I may have bought something in there but I was so turned off by this rude and condescending approach that I just left. MUJI across the street never once asked me to leave my tote bag because they were afraid I might steal something. They were all super friendly and nice and even let me bring my tote bag in the dressing room after counting the number of items I was bringing in.

From beard balms and pocket combs to Kennedy fashion and wooden iPhone accessories ( yes, a log that charges; yes, a case made of maple), Sault plays right in to modern gentleman's slim wallet - a statement on minimalism, mind you, and not on the amount of coin necessary to play. (Spoiler alert: it's high. This is the South End after all.) Easy to browse and impossible to resist, Sault makes me feel like I did when I was a kid in the mall, and my parents let me have five minutes in a Kaybee Toys. Which may fall on deaf eyes to many, but let's just say it's an abundance of joyous zeal and Christmas list making.
