I have no idea how they expect to sell sunglasses when they are all locked up and it takes at least 30 minutes to get helped. I went in wanting to buy some designer glasses and another customer was already running around the store trying to get someone to open the cases to try on some glasses. Once she found help for us, I asked if I could try a couple on too. I was told by the sales associate that only one person at a time can be helped. Fine. I waited for another 10 minutes for the other client to choose which glasses she would buy. The sales associate then told me she had to go help them at the register and needed to find the cases for the glasses too. Another 15 minutes went by. At that point I just left. They're clearly not interested in making a sale. Such a shame because before this lock up situation, I used to buy all my glasses from this location. Ordered my daughter her Christmas shoes she's been wanting. Got them for a deal upon going to pick them up I was told they are no where to be found and they were given to someone else. Christmas ruined for my daughter who was already told she'd get these. They listed them as a return when it's really a cancellation and on their part because they couldn't "find my order". I'm hoping they do the right thing and call me tomorrow with the whereabouts of my daughter's shoes. I stopped by the Nordstrom Rack in Boston in hopes of finding some great bargains, since they were having 25 % off red tag sale. This store is pretty messy and a bit difficult to navigate. Its two stories, the purses, sunglasses, cosmetics and accessories are on the lower level, the clothing and shoes are on the upper level. I like our Nordstrom Rack's set up much better, here in Farmington. You can see where everything is right when you walk in. The sales floor seemed awfully tight in the Boston store, with shoppers and merchandise everywhere. There are no restrooms. Of course the line to check out was forever long. This must be a high traffic store in the area, I don't plan on returning here. read more

The service from the woman at the register was 5 star (thank you to Shekisha V.), but the lower score is for the actual store itself: the escalator has problems, and no one wants to wait and then crows into an elevator to get upstairs. I love Nordstrom and will always try a new location so had to pop in here when we passed it. The store is average size for a Rack location. Looks like they are really short on staffing given the disarray in the store. Nice shoe selection and good designer options although there were quite a few empty racks and so very many shoes on the ground that an older patron using a walker had to have other customers clear the path for her to get out of the shoe aisle. They have zero restrooms which is the first time I have ever encountered that in a Nordstrom Rack and they shut down registers upstairs but didn't have clear signage about where to pay. the one employee visible to us didn't provide clear directions either so we abandoned our purchase and left empty handed. Bought online order using PayPal. Tried to return with original pkg slip and pkg material. There was no "order #" on the pkg slip and the confirmation email for purchase came from paypal with no order #. End result - i I'm sorry we can't return this without an order #. There are some racks dedicated to a brand, like the Madewell rack. However, most of the clothes require sorting so be ready to spend a good amount of time here. The fittings rooms are open too! There is usually a small line at the cashier but it moves at a decent speed. read more

My experience today was top notch. I went here to return two items I'd bought online via HauteLook and was anxious because returning items can be such a hassle at various places. But the attendant was very friendly, chatting with me about how pretty the items I'd bought were, and she made it a seamless experience. From past visits I know that there is a wide price range even though it's Nordstrom Rack-- that's because items at Nordstrom can range from pricey to truly expensive. So don't expect a shopping trip like TJMaxx or Marshall's where pretty much everything is the same price. This is one reason I don't shop here, other than the fact that it's hard to find items I want here anyway-- maybe I'm just not a huge fan of Nordstrom's style. However, I'm happy to know about the hassle free returns if I ever purchase from HauteLook online (trendier styles) again. read more

As a tall woman, finding shoes can be super difficult, this particular store always came through. They always had size 12 shoes. The last couple of trips to Boston has been a disappointment. This store now carries a total of about 15 shoes sizes 11 and up. read more

Very convenient location and the store is pretty big having two floors. They carry lots and lots of merchandise and the prices are very reasonable. I especially like to shop their accessories department. There are always some very good finds here. On my most recent visit I got three fashion scarves at a very good price. There is also a beauty department here where you can get top shelf products at a discount price. Their women's clothing department always has some great items in it as well. The store is well organized and easy to navigate. The store is always busy but the lines at the checkout area always move pretty fast so you can get in and out very quickly. Large location with lots of stock! And it's clean - clothes don't clutter the floor, fitting rooms, etc. Top floor has clothing/shoes while bottom floor has accessories/luggage/misc. There are some good deals, but like other reviewers have mentioned, you have to be willing to sort through the massive amounts of clothing. Most prices still seem steep - and I've noticed a few times that the online price is cheaper than in store. With that said, I was particularly pleased with my last experience. I bought a pair of jeans - list price was $40, but at the register it rung up for $17. Miracle! The staff was also lovely - from the security guards to the fitting room staff to the cashiers. Everyone greeted me, and the small gestures can make the difference. I will definitely be returning. read more

I'm a Nordstrom gal, I admit it. Being from Seattle, where Nordie's is based, I am their #1 fan. And so I was surprised and excited to see this Nordstrom Rack here, located in the tony Back Bay (I'd have expected more of a Nordstrom to be here, not their discount Rack store, among the higher-end shops and boutiques here on Boylston and Newbury). The kids and I entered with much anticipation, as we love shopping and Nordie's and discounts (we felt we hit the trifecta when we stumbled upon this store!). For the most part, this was a very good Nordstrom Rack store, but it's way WAY smaller than most of the Racks in Seattle. (If ever you find yourself in Seattle, check out the Rack downtown in Westlake Center. Give yourself a LOT of time to explore it! And the flagship Nordstrom department store is a block away. You'll need a whole day to fully see all that it offers!). In this Boston store, there seemed to be a large gap between lower-end clothing (cute tops for $19.99, more geared for the teen/young women customers) and the higher-end designer clothing priced in the $100s. Not much middle ground. There was a nice selection of lightweight "puffy" down jackets in many sizes and colors, many of which were designer brands (like Michael Kors), all priced super reasonably. We were MOST impressed with the shoe department. It was vast and well organized, with a ton of selections of styles and sizes and brand names. The dressing rooms were roomy and we smiled at the signs on the wall hooks (some say "Yes, I'll take it", and others, "no not for me", or something to that effect). A small touch, but cute. All in all, this is a great discount store - especially for shoes and seasonal outerwear, - but you'd be hard-pressed to find your whole wardrobe here. read more

The selection is a bit limiting in comparison to the Nordstrom Rack stores I'm used to in Orange County, but there's a decent variety of stuff. I ended up buying a pair of Saint Laurent sunglasses for a phenomenal deal that I couldn't pass up. This is where I was a bit peeved by service and thought it could use improvement and attention to detail. The cashier rang me up fine, but offered nothing other than transaction. I inquired about getting a case to protect the lenses since it was snowing outside and I wasn't about to walk on out with them on. He told me there wasn't a Saint Laurent case. Instead, he offered a white Valentino case. For me, any case would have been fine since I just needed something to protect the lens from scratching. As I paid, this is where it got a little tricky. He grabbed my sunglass case and moved it behind the counter and wished me a good day. I looked on in disbelief and asked whether he was expecting me to leave without my purchase -___- He bagged it up and then handed it over, but the apology felt...insincere. He seemed caught up on a side conversation and disregarded everything else, including the customer. Not a fan of the service that day. read more

Love shopping here on my day OFF. We can all use some retail therapy, can't we? I have done Pick-Up Service from Newbury store and it's all been good experience. First time when I came to the store it was on Saturday and upstairs line was pretty long but someone asked me if I had online order and went to go grab my order very quick... Whether I'm picking up some face sheet masks, Mario Badescu travel sprays, definitely better than CVS where I can check out shoes and some clothes as well. On a recent note, I had a very positive experience with a sales associate name Jesse. I had to extend my Rack order and he was able to process it over the phone. Grand opening. Lots of specials and sale items way cheaper than regular store. Sales people in the floor helping customers. Prior to opening they were giving out gifts and drawings for $1000 gift card. They offered complementary coffee and donuts to customers. Really nice place on Boylston Street.
