Update to rave about their huge selection of BAGGU bags! I absolutely love these bags and the fun designs. They make every shopping trip more fun and I love coordinating them with my outfits. Anyways, I was walking by this store and noticed a bunch of BAGGU bags in the windows, some cleverly displayed. I stopped in my tracks and went in and grabbed several in cute designs! They even have more selection here than in the RISD store in Providence. So this is the place to come for BAGGU which totally surprised me due to my lukewarm review of this place back in the day. read more

simon's is one of my favorite stores for their shoe selection. This holiday season i grabbed a few pairs of sneakers and boots and bought a Baggu bag and these beautiful wool hats with the scarf that covers your neck. i find the people that work there really nice albeit some have more experience than others and they really try to be helpful: they also have a generous return policy, stretch your shoes if they feel tight, and have really good sales if you hit it right. read more

Isn't the best feeling in the world buying a new pair of shoes? Well it is for me! Simon's shoes has the best variety of shoes for men and women. My first experience with them is I had just moved back here and needed winter boots. Slipping in the parking lot behind the store I swooshed into retail heaven. The manager was so nice, and fit me to these boots from Canada that the bottom of the boot flips over and spikes pop out. You can do the entire bottom of boot or half. They were pricey, but the investment was worth it. I still use them years later. That experience has kept me a life long customer. Seriously the variety is amazing. What I love about their shoes is stylish-comfort. Best to get on the mailing list and take part of two really good sales per season. read more

Simon's Shoes is a Boston gem! Went in to buy a pair of Campers, a Wyeth bag, and some gorgeous quilted gloves- couldn't be happier with the quality of the goods and the service. The staff was super knowledgeable, so helpful, and cuties too! (Shot out to Yendry for helping me!) With the great selection at Simon's, it was hard not to buy more. Horrible customer service avoid at all costs! Racist a$$holes ... I walked into the store and female employee and her male colleague were talking. As I was walking around, the female employee from the counter said that they have nothing for me! I turned around and said how do you know what I want? She replied we have nothing for you. I was shocked and I thought that that this was a joke but she turned around and continued to talk to her colleague while looking at me over her shoulder. This behavior is unacceptable and I cannot believe a place like this exists in Coolidge Corner. read more

I wanted to exchange a pair or Naot sandals for another pair of Naot sandals and I was within the week limit. I went back to Simon with the shoes. Upon arriving at Simon, I went to the counter where the cashier opened the box with the receipt, looked at my shoes, which were unscathed (as I didn't even wear them but to walk around my apt.) and determined after about 5 seconds that they didn't look brand new and they weren't going to offer an exchange. There was a scuff mark on the heel that she kept pointing out, but that very mark was on the shoes when I bought them. She didn't care and to boot I was shocked by her dismissive attitude. So much so that I mentioned that I was a return customer who had purchased from their store in the past a few items and that I'd always had a good experience. I then asked to speak with the owner who never came directly to speak to me, instead preferring to use the cashier as a conduit for the bad news. In the end, the result was the same: No Exchange, Buh-Bye! Before I left the store, I gave a final plea to the cashier. Wasn't there something she could offer in the way of customer service to a "valued" customer who had spent nearly $500 at the store in the past? Was it worth losing me as a customer and all the future purchases I could make for a pair of shoes? Apparently it was. Which is just as well cause I found the same pair of Naots I bought at that store for over $130 online for cheaper. read more

While waiting to eat my friend told me there was a great shoe store nearby we should check out. Since said friend and I are known for our funky footwear who was I to say no. They have a great selection of fun and comfortable shoes. I was actually able to find a cute pair of dressy Dansko's what weren't clogs on clearance. They told me as they were clearance they were final sale which was no biggie as I don't live in the Boston area. The shoes were super cute and staff was readily available to help but they weren't overbearing by any means either. Great selection of merchandise. Granted the footwear lines they sell aren't bargains but generally they are quality based on my previous experience in purchasing some of those brands. I'd gladly come back and look around if in the area again. read more

I'm a huge advocate of supporting local business whenever possible, but I can say that I will never step foot in Simons again. I walked in knowing what shoe I wanted and ready to pay the $130, but was hoping to get some answers on the different leather finishes available before doing so. There was only one other customer in the store yet the two clerks repeatedly walked by me actively avoiding any eye contact. When I finally got their attention and got the shoe I had to ask for a different size. You'd think I had asked her to climb Everest. Upon returning she dropped the shoes at my feet and walked away. Needless to say I didn't even try them on - I just left. So so disappointing. Ended up buying from Zappos. read more

They have really nice shoes...but most are outrageously expensive! Yet, if you are lucky, you might find some good deals at the clearance section. The quality of the shoes is quite commendable though. The other stuff, I am not too sure about though.... I had a great experience here! I was going to New York for the weekend and wanted just one pair of sandals for the trip. SERVICE: I got to the store shortly after opening and one woman, Morgan, was working. I'm sure it was helpful that I knew the exact shoe name I wanted (naot kayla), but I thought her service was perfect for me. She let me jump around the store and offered her valid and relevant opinion (my initial instinct so the validation was nice). They didn't have the finish we decided on in my size but she was able to order it FOR THE NEXT DAY. It came in, she called, I bought. (And my feet were happy in New York!) Worth mentioning: NOBODY IS PUSHING YOU TO BUY ANYTHING. This is a great browsing experience. SELECTION: I know "comfort shoes" get a bad rap for being...just...totally ugly. I feel Simons merchandises well and it is a contemporary store. I loved browsing in here because I felt like I could make anything look cute but still be comfortable. I had a girl on the street shout at me that she liked my sandals! Also, THEY HAVE GREAT ACCESSORIES!!! Socks, wallets, tights, practical purses and backpacks? I feel so functional already! If you aren't a comfort shoes convert yet, come here and you will be. Stop treating your feet like garbage! OVERALL: I think the customer service here is the preferred service of younger folk but the product mix may not be geared to the same crowd so maybe there's a disconnect. I'm secretly 90 trapped in a 20-something body so it works to my maximum benefit. If you want something, ask for it! And don't get too sensitive about the demeanor. Happy shoe shopping! read more

For over 15 years, I used to enjoy shopping here. The owner was friendly and always had a superb selection of shoes and boots. Ownership changed hands and sadly, so did the service. They sales staff act bored and disinterested. No one offers any assistance, let alone greet customers. Evidently, they don't care about their loyal base. Usually, they send cards a week in advance of their summer sale. This year I received nothing (I've bought three pairs of pricey shoes there in the past 12 months). When I mentioned this to the sales woman all she could say is "we sent lots of cards," not "sorry we missed you; would you like to be on our mailing list?" Their website is also out of date too and has no information about the sale. Isn't the purpose of having a website to keep customers informed? A little kindness goes a long way. No matter how many quality labels they carry, Simon Shoes will lose their customer base if they don't pay attention to their base. read more

I just love this store. They have the best selection of shoes and boots, and accessories of course. My favorite purchase so far: Naot sandals and Rieker booties. Both are soooo comfortable. I am very tall and I could never wear hills, but these sandals are amazing. They also have a huge section of HUE leggings and tights. Each time Im here, I just cant help buying something for myself or someone in my family. They have shoes for extra wide feet, I bought my mom a pair she loves them. None of them greeted me or asked if they could assist me in any way. I spent 5 minutes in the store looking for what i wanted and when i left, one of them said quietly, "thank you. Please ignore any negative reviews you see here. I love a certain brand of shoe that I get here and because I wear them a lot I have bought several pairs. Gabor by the way; they are the most amazingly comfortable and chic pump on a low wedge. I ruined my last pair so I call simons and ask if they have them and the woman Hunter? Offered to pull them out for me. When I got there she immediately responded to me and had pulled the shoes out in my size in 2 colors. She was so nice and quick and it's always a pleasure to shop here. They have an excellent stock of comfortable brands and good sales. I don't hesitate to come here when I want to look good and feel comfy at the same time. I am known to take long walks and have walked miles in these shoes and they held up great. read more

I had a wonderful experience at Simon's today. I came on a mission. I have been having a lot of problems with my hip for the past two months (I know, I know, I'm too young for that), and it finally occurred to me yesterday that maybe my shoes were making the situation worse. I know a lot of nurses wear Dansko's, so I wanted to try on a pair for myself. The staff at Simon's could not have been more helpful. I did have to wait for a bit to find someone who was free, but it's a sunny Saturday in Coolidge Corner, so the place was busy. But the guy who helped me was incredibly nice, he brought me a TON of shoes...I think like, 7 pairs in all, and gave me plenty of time to think things over and walk around the store. He was definitely not hovering, which I appreciated, since the shoes are pricey, I wanted to make sure I had the right pair. In short: love the shoes, if I buy another pair, I'll definitely be back. What I love about this store is that the women's shoes are made for real people, not some designers' ideas of what some poor tottering woman's big ol foot should be squeezed into and stacked up on like a stork on a fence post. AND YET, the shoes are attractive and stylish. I found a new (to me) brand here that is sooooo comfortable: Naot, made in Israel. I may never buy another brand. Others have mentioned other brands they carry, so I won't go over that again, but I will say that they seem to have specialized in very comfortable, well-made, good-looking shoes. I really like Simon's Shoes. I like that it is a family business and the owners are so gracious and polite. They always have a new selection of comfortable yet more modern shoes. Recently they changed the second half of the store and it has sun hats (SO CUTE), nylons, socks, purses, scarves... and so much more. I'm absolutely in LOVE. Simon's has great flat shoes--comfortable and attractive. Naot, Dansko's, Clarks, Ecco, etc. They are expensive, but I'm willing to pay a lot for a pair of shoes that doesn't hurt my feet that I can wear for a long time. I found a pair of sandals here that I wore every day all summer and they are still in great shape. Some of the people who work at Simon's seem really snooty and unhelpful...that's the main thing I don't like about them. And, I'm not as impressed with their boots/winter shoes. But all in all, it's a good shoe store. read more

Simon's is like a candy store for your feet! They have the most beautiful, well-made, comfortable brands -- AND the most helpful staff imaginable! Plus, the location is great -- right in Coolidge corner, with a T stop steps away and convenient parking behind the store. And when you're done shopping here, there are lots of other stores and restaurants to explore, and even a movie theater next door. So coming to Simons can be a great all-day outing, or a destination unto itself. read more

As a transgender woman, I am very sensitive to this, so I'm going to assume best intentions and they thought I was browsing. I visited shortly after the shop reopened from COVID closures, because my old sandals had fallen apart during quarantine and I wanted a quality pair to replace them. I was nervous about going into a retail store for the first time since March, but I was the only customer for the majority of my time there and the staff were taking precautions. Mandatory masks, lots of hand sanitizer stations, chairs far apart from each other to try shoes on, etc. made me feel safe. The staff were a little hard to get the attention of - I'm not sure if they were trying to give me plenty of time to browse/test out the shoes, or if they were trying to stay far apart due to COVID, but I had to actively seek them out when I wanted to try shoes on and was ready to check out. They did put some waterproofing stuff on the leather before I left which was thoughtful. Overall my experience was positive and I love my new NAOT sandals. read more

Well, I'm glad it's not just me :-) . Yesterday I went to Simons and ended up walking out because I seemed to be invisible to the sales staff. (Back when I worked in retail the standard was that everyone had to be greeted within 15 seconds of walking into the store.) Also for a shoe store they have very few chairs which is not very welcoming. Today I went back because I really NEEDED a pair of shoes. I went up to the woman hanging around the cash register and asked if there was a wait to get helped. That melted the ice. Simons carries name brand shoes. There are a lot of comfort brands like Noat, Clarks, Dansko, Birkenstock, Wolky, Beautifeel. They have men's and ladies shoes but the men's selection is much smaller. The prices are all over $100. I find that for what they are selling their prices are less than some. For instance I purchased a pair of $125. Dansko shoes. I have seen them for sale elsewhere for $149. This is located in the Coolidge Corner area of Brookline. I followed the "P" for parking signs and found metered parking with only a little trouble. The pizza at Otto Pizza across the street is awesomely good! All shoe stores sell socks but Simons has a large selection of quality socks and tights. Overall I would go back again. read more

I got a very nice pair of boots here, but was disappointed with the service. The two women working here were pretty friendly when they spoke to me, but mostly spoke to each other. Since I went in on my own, I was hoping for an outside perspective, and they did not seem all that interested in giving one even when I asked. I love some of the shoes at Simons, but I have had difficulties with the arrogant attitude at times of the staff-or manager. I bought a pair of shoes several years ago, a boot with a sculpted heel, and when I asked if I could get something similar, and if they could clean them up a bit, they insisted the shoes were not bought at the store, because she could not remember carrying them! I have bought several pairs of shoes there and to be treated that way, when I knew exactly where I had bought the shoes, in the most condescending manner possible, was inexcusable. I am interested in buying a pair of Clark's shoes for a trip, but I am very worried about going back, and should they not work in the home after trying them out, I also am worried, reading some reviews, that they will not be able to be returned. Simon's really does need to realize they are losing customers as a result of attitude when something goes amiss, or even when it doesn't. I doubt if i will be back...it would take a lot. I'd rather buy online and return them then deal with that kind of attitude. read more

I want to like Simon's Shoes.It's a family owned business. Everv time I visit my family here in Brookline, I give it another try. I want to BUY shoes there. I love the shoes & the brands they carry: Antelope, Dansko and Clarks. I have popped in about a half-dozen times in the last two years. NEVER ONCE has there been a greeting from a Simon representative. Not once have we been asked what size shoe I'd like to try on. So I leave. The last time I was there, there was an elderly woman sitting in the chair looking at the shoes. There were three girls sulking by the sales counter. One of the sales girls called over to the woman "we don't have your size." Did not come closer to the customer. Did not see what shoes the elderly woman wanted to try. I helped the lady out the door & left with her. Today was the last visit. It was kind of a joke. As we walked by my Mom says, "Let's see if we get a hello today." Nope. The only comment from the sales staff was to another shopper when asked why all the shoes weren't on sale: "I guess just the unpopular shoes are on sale." We literally started laughing and walked out. All I can think of is that the owner has no idea how much damage the sales staff is doing to the business and its reputation. If this were my staff in any business, I would fire them all. You can not repair the damage they are doing to the business. read more

The shoes and bags are great the customer service is horrible! I went in because I saw the great bags designed by flight attendants. While in there I saw a great hat for my mom. I reached for it and knocked over one wallet on display. The girl behind the counter actually scowled at me. And said in a very rude voice - Next time ask someone for assistance! I thought I was 10 years old again. I laughed it off so as not to create any more of a scene and proceeded to talk about how I thought it would be a great hat for my mom because she had lost all her hair due to chemo treatments. This still did not get her to lighten up she just stood there glaring at me! I did not get the hat, and I'll never go back. Too bad, because it would have been a nice hat for mom. When I lived in the area, I was a fan of Simon's shoes because my feet have "issues" and I could always find shoes that fit and hold up well - and look good. Also they give back to the community by helping to recycle worn shoes to women's shelters. When I came back to Brookline on a recent visit I made a beeline to the store and bought 4 pair of shoes - and told them I needed to check with my podiatrist and would they allow me to return them w/i a few days? While, yes, it's easy to buy shoes online, you can't beat being able to try on the shoe in the store for the right fit. I really wanted a pair of Fly Londons, and I saw on their website that Simons Shoes had them. While the selection isn't extensive, they have great colors and styles and they had the ones I wanted. The staff was honest, telling me their opinion of which looked best and helping me out with the right size since they run a little long. They are great shoes and I couldn't be happier! They seem to be carrying trendier shoes too, which bodes well for the fall. read more

Simons Shoes has the best variety of stylish comfort shoes in the Boston area that I have found. They're certainly not cheap, but if you have any experience with trying to find affordable comfort shoes you know they simply don't exist so best. Many places offer one or two pairs of comfort shoes, but few offer the number of brands and range from casual to dressy that Simons carries. While their return policy is not very generous if you wait to buy until you are certain of your selection, this shouldn't be a hindrance. Also, I discovered the clearance rack yesterday which was a nice surprise. I simply can't wear a "non-comfort" shoe so this is my "go to" place for shoes. read more

I used to shop here frequently. I appreciated the selection of comfort shoes and the quality service . The owners and sales people used to ascertain the shoes fit well. Today I was astounded to be told that they "were no longer qualified to measure feet" and did not have any of the metal measuring instruments. One salesperson ignored my elderly mother while focusing her efforts on 1 customer, while the other salesperson was overwhelmed attempting to help the rest of the customers in a moderately crowded store. I watched the overwhelmed salesperson hand my mother a pair of shoes larger (they were out of the requested size) and a shoehorn, without offering any assistance helping my mother remove her current shoes and put on the new ones. At some point ownership and service quality seriously changed. I would never return to this store. read more

They sold out of a shoe model that had become my day-to-day uniform, and Missy stayed in touch to help find ways for it to be restocked.
