Not sure how they keep the lights on ... the prices here are obscene. Worse than Goat or StockX. It's more of an art gallery, with shoes and clothing as the art, than an actual store. There is nothing I hate worse than sneaker resellers! These bot-using parasites infect sneaker drops and leave shoe-loving sneakerheads frustrated and stinging with losses on release day. This is listed as a consignment shop ... but everything is brand new. The Yeezys in the window, the Jordan I in the display cases and the clothing scattered throughout. All new, all allocated and hard to find ... all about 400% above retail prices. My question is ... why would I shop here if I could find the same (or lower) price at StockX ... at least be guaranteed that the shoes I buy on GOAT are genuine (fakes are getting much harder to detect) ... and this place, like websites, does not allow you to try on the shoes before you buy them? Overall, this store just doesn't make sense to me. Especially in Burlington Mall. I hate the concept of glorifying resellers ... and in LA, the high end sneaker shops at least wrap their shoes in shrink wrap to protect them. Ridiculously marked up prices. If you find something you like here, look for it online first. I'd never been to Laced before, so I went into their Copley Place location just expecting it to be expensive footwear. They had a lot more than footwear, and a lot of it was really amazingly unique designs. However, after looking up the prices of the products on my phone while browsing, I discovered how much the merchandise actually costs. They are charging more than 100% markup on items. Biggest example was this Advisory Board Crystals Fungi Spores hoodie for $500. The actual price is $235. I went on to their website and their other hoodies are $235 as well. Unless you don't care that you're overpaying, I'd stay away. read more

Today is Black Friday and my teenage daughter went to Laced for the first time. She had been looking for a particular pair of sneakers for quite a while and they had them in stock. The sneakers are quite expensive so I told her I would split them with her as part of her Christmas present. She came home and tried them on and they were too small. I said that we should bring them back right away, especially since they cost $315! I drove back to the Burlington Mall with her and was told by the young man at the register that Laced is a consignment store and the sneakers were a final sale. He proceeded to point at the small sign above our heads that read "final sale". I did not see any other signs in the store that stated that everything was a final sale and I would not have known it was a consignment store if the young man did not tell me. In addition to the sneakers being a final sale I was told that you are not allowed to try the sneakers on either. So these sneakers that cost $315 aren't returnable from the second you purchase them, but you can't try them on to see if they fit. He did tell me however, that he would be happy to reconsign them for her and she could earn her money back (of course Laced would be getting its 21 percent cut). This is a very interesting business model! I explained to him that my daughter only recently turned 17 and did not know what she was getting herself into. She did not see the small sign that said "final sale" (which she would have had to look up to see) and no one told her that it was a final sale during the checkout process. The young man told me that the age of the person doesn't matter. The policy would apply to young and old alike. I do beg to differ when it comes to deceptive business practices and Massachusetts Consumer Protection Law Chapter 93A , the law tends to protect those under 18 and over 65. I asked to speak to the manager and the young man told me that he was the manager. I then asked to speak to his manager and he said that he is running the store right now and that his manager could not be reached. I finally asked for the manager's phone number. He wrote it down for me on a small piece of paper and said "he will tell you the same thing". At this point, it is no longer about the pair of sneakers. It is the principle of the matter and I want my daughter to see that there are consequences when businesses partake in unfair and deceptive practices. I went on to read many reviews about Laced and was not surprised to see many stating that the store is a scam!! If you get nothing else from this lengthy review (which, btw, I never write), please stay away from this store and save yourself money, time and aggravation! read more

Warning: customer service is still awful, could care less about making a sale to any customers. Don't bother trying to go to the location on Massachusetts ave as it no longer exists. You would think they would take that address off of Instagram, Yelp, and their website, but that shows how bad their customer service actually is. Went on the social media page. I follow them because I live in providence and like to see new things they have. I noticed they put up a picture of a new pair of shoes that I like. But I noticed that it around 75 dollars higher than another shop. So I kindly asked on the Instagram page if they offer any price matching. And the admin to the Instagram page responded back to me "what does this look like Walmart? ". This was super rude. I was willing to drive up from providence today and get them anyways so I can have them today. Even if they didn't price match me I would have still bought a shoe that costs 475$... really poor customer service. I will shop somewhere else instead. read more

If I could give the Laced brand "flea market" retail store a negative 5 stars I would. As an avid shopper of designer apparel all over the world I knew what I was walking into but still decided to take the plunge. They don't let you try on shoes because they know that you will just find it for less than half of what they are selling it for online. They know shoppers just come there to find their size and just buy the same product online for less than half of what they are selling it for. Luckily I only made one purchase and got ripped off on yeezy slides that don't even fit me. You literally have to go in there and guess your size while the manager acts like he is above everyone and knows everything about everything while he completely knows he is scamming the **** out of you. I am a former sneaker/shoe collector and every time I am on vacation I am always on the look out for places like these. When I found it online I looked like a neat and organized street wear shop, What I got when I arrived was completely different. The whole staff was in the back room smoking pot, The whole place reeked of marijuana. I was immediately escorted out and told they were closed. Marijuana doesn't bother me but I find it unacceptable that these people were smoking inside their place of business. Thanks, but no thanks. read more

Hello friends. My nephew won on the keymaster Machine at Laced in The Cambridge side galleria. He won a 900 dollar pair of sneakers. I guess this was the first day the machine was installed and they are now trying to say he didnt win because it wasnt calibrated correctly (aka its designed to screw you over). They are not honoring his winnings and offered him his 20 bucks back that he spent in the machine (which he earns taking out trash for his neighbors) and a tshirt instead. The owner refuses to return our calls and the store manager, who saw him win, felt so bad he offered to pay out of his own pocket pocket for a credit up to 500. Sneaker culture now is basically what comic book culture once was. Its a community in its own way. Liam knows the manager and talks to him all the time when he hangs at the store and will not take his money. The owner is continuing to blow us off so ultimately we will be phoning in a complaint to the attorney general. The day after this happened they have the balls to try and promote the machine on the their social media. If u know me and ian well enough, you are aware this kids situation and how he has neither parent in his life. Literally sneakers and video games are what distract him from his situation. Ive never heard a 13 year old kid more excited when he thought he won and now they are like NOPE! Imagine buying a scratch ticket and winning and then they are like lol jk it was a glitch. Yeah, the guy who owns the place may be a tough guy, anyone who's been going to concepts for years knows that (he used to work there), yeah they have a bell to get in, who the hell cares. I say: good for them. Meh. Located only ten or fifteen minutes walking distance from Bodega, my brother and I took a trip down Mass Ave and experienced, with no disrespect to Charles Dickens, a Tale of Two Stores. Bodega was packed with new August releases and a conducive atmosphere to buying new kicks; helpful staff and a good selection. Laced? Not so much. If this place didn't have one of two NikeSB accounts in Boston, it would have been even less. My brother and I were the only people in the store on a beautiful Saturday afternoon. Where are all the customers? I had made a trip to Laced a couple weeks before, and the whole time I was forced to listen to the owner talk to a friend about how he had 'bought smart' and what a great job he does operating his own business. Best place while shopping in the South End for copping the freshest gear. I've heard some pretty iffy stories about LACED before so I was a bit hesitant to check the place out, but upon my first time there recently, I found out that it had gone under new management so I figured why not check it out. By FAR my newest favorite place to shop while in the area! Suave/Hip decor, for a tiny space they know how to make it look cozy and shoppable while at the same time still able to make it have its own distinct look. They carry most major brands as well as a couple indie brands. They also stock the latest Jordans, dunks, and sbs. Recently they merged with their other shop, BoardRoom Boston, and they now carry some the illest skateboard decks and gears within the area. The staff has always been friendly and helpful whenever I was there, always seeing if I needed help and always down to hold a good conversation about the latest releases/brands. Definitely pleased with LACED and its new ownership! A hidden gem among urban apparel. read more

Walked in this place for the first time ever, and had to leave because of the overwhelming smell of fart. I mean seriously...the whole place smelled like a fart! It was horrendous. To top it off the "sales team" was sitting around on the floors just staring at their phones. BEWARE: 99% sure they sold me fake AJ1 pine green 1.0's. Had bought them around 7 months ago, went to sell them on stockx, they didn't pass authentication and sent them back to me. I was in doubt since stockx sometimes is iffy with authenticating, however, after hearing more people's stories about receiving fakes from Laced, I wouldn't be surprised if they were actually fake. I was contacted by the owner, Joamil, to buy some shoes. Unfortunately, even with the CLEAR pictures BEFOREHAND and AFTER I drove 45 minutes, Joamil took one look at the shoes he ALREADY saw, and said he didn't want them. No gas money was given to me for the "misunderstanding" and my "600$" I came for aren't in hand. Joamil claimed he thought the shoes were dead stock, BUT (1) why would I sell brand new YEEZYS for 600?, (2) I wrote in the Facebook post I tried to sell them through "in good condition FLAWS ARE SHOWN"(OBVIOUSLY not dead stock), and (3) I allowed his ORIGINAL OFFER of 700$ to be lowered to 600$. Overpriced and they take way too much when you do consignment ($50 off the price sold). I've done business with them over the years, but they have definitely changed to my surprise. They're selection is a little bit bigger than the one at my house, but they've improved by added overpriced hoodies that have their name emblazoned on them. Sad to say, will not be returning to do any further business here, especially after the homophobic remarks made from their online account, including, but not limited to, the use of "f*gg*t" as an insult, with them justifying it as they "have family members who are openly gay". I walk in, and I am the only customer on a beautiful Saturday afternoon. The music selection playing is about the most offensive selection possible, a rapper screaming f*** you f*gg*t again and again and again. Being straight but not narrow, I head right to the door. I tell the woman at the counter that the music is especially offensive. She says, 'yeah, but we have to play it.' I respond 'in THIS neighborhood?!' Look, you're located in the South End, one of the first and strongest safe havens that the gay community established in the region. So for a store to 'have to' play that garbage is little different than setting up shop in Mattapan and playing music to specifically offend Haitians. You just don't do it. I know half the designers whose work you sell, and I don't think any would be happy about this. And really, guys, do you honestly think that offending gay men is a good business move when you sell designer shoes? This is just a business Darwin award winner here. I've been checking this place out about once every year or two if I just happen to be passing by. Every time I hope they've gone through some major change, and every time I'm disappointed.
