Consignment stores have become one of my favorite places to find one-of-a-kind items. There's always a unique detail that makes a piece feel special rather than generic. Covet is awesome. They carry women's wear, accessories, outerwear, high-end brands, and no-name labels--all in great condition. I'm not usually a fan of used or thrift clothing, but I prefer consignment because the pieces are genuinely nice and ready to wear/clean, lightly worn (or never worn), and good quality. After a weird experience at the Newbury location, I was hesitant to come here, but was pleasantly surprised at how friendly the employees were! The store itself is neatly organized by category and you can find well-priced pieces from a variety of brands, from more affordable ones to high-end designers. There are fitting rooms to try things on, as well as fun accessories and jewelry. I ended up buying a pair of Levi's shorts, and would definitely come back! read more

I have been to all 3 shops and the people who work at the Southie were incredibly rude... WITH the exception of Marian (I believe that was what I heard her say her name to). The selection was sub par. Go to the Newbury location way better selection and way nicer staff there!!! read more

DO NOT TRUST THIS BUSINESS WITH YOUR DESIGNER ITEMS. THEY WILL DAMAGE THEM. Came in today to consign a pair of LIKE NEW Louboutins. I walked around a bit while waiting for the shoes to be priced. I decided last minute to actually keep my shoes and went to pick up. These shoes NEVER saw the sales floor and were in the hands of the salespeople the entire time. I am at the counter picking up my shoes to keep and the salesperson rips off a piece of paper that they had taped to my box. The tape REMOVES THE LOGO and DAMAGES the box for my like-new shoes. I have taken extreme care to keep these shoes prisitine and I am devastated that my box is now damaged especially when it never saw the store floor. I trusted Covet with my designer So Kate Louboutins and to recieve them back damaged is absolutely heartbreaking. I will never EVER be consigning an item with Covet again -- and if you do BEWARE. They WILL damage your item, and you will NOT have the full value if you decide to keep it. read more

There is a lot to say about this little shop. If you find yourself in southie do yourself a favor and pop in here for a look. It is a resale consignment shop but it is of higher end labels. The owner and employees take careful time in choosing pieces. The owner is a wonderful young lady who has no problem walking around and helping you into a dressing room! I am so glad I was able to check them out before heading back home to Texas! read more

I originally learned about covet from looking up thrift/ consignment stores in Boston. Covet was highly rated and offered an wide range of options. I'd started by following them on Instagram (which I highly recommend). They post daily about some of their great finds and updates. *Note they do offer shipping if you're not in the Boston area and see something you like. I recently saw they were having a 3 day bin sale when things were either $5 or $10. I immediately shared it with my friend who had been meaning to check it out and we made plans to go on the last day of the sale. I didn't realize it untill I got to the store but since it was the last day they reduced the prices even further! It was now half the price, $2.50 and $5. We were a bit nervous and what would be left of the bin sale but were pleasantly surprised. We both found a number of things each. My friend left with about 5 different pieces that were so unique! I was incredibly happy with my finds. I picked up a banana republic button down shirt that was a wicked nice material and would be perfect for any season. The highlight was the Jack Wills dress that fit perfectly and had an adorable anchor pattern (my weakness). It still had the original tags on it and was originally priced at $99, I grabbed it for $5! What an amazing find! I will definitely be back and thank you Skyla for the incredible service and help throughout our shopping experience it is much appreciated. I used to be a fan of this consignment store, because they had good costumer service online. However the last couple of months it has drastically been declining. Especially the southie store (worst one of all). If youre out of state I suggest don't even waste your time trying to purchase items through them. They do not get back to the customer regarding an item, IF and WHEN they do its 2-3 days later to inform you that it has been sold. When looking at an item online they'll let you know it's available, have you start the Venmo process only to get a message that it has been sold. Why even sell online at that point? not one to write reviews but after the 7th time of the same thing; figured people should be aware. read more

This is by far one of my favorite little shopping gems in the city. The majority of consignment shops here tend to be either overwhelming, full of 90% junk you'd never be caught dead wearing, or smell unequivocally like an old lady's musty old attic full of cobwebs and moth balls. Covet, on the other hand, has a carefully curated collection of like-new clothes, shoes, and accessories, and makes shopping feel like you're just browsing through your favorite girlfriend's closet. The girls who work here are super friendly, and the best stylist sidekicks when you need them most. They're excited when you find a pair of culottes you love, will give you ideas on how to style a top you're iffy about...your best shopping BFF when your real BFF is MIA to tell you if your butt looks good in those jeans. Everything is in-season and on-trend, and I've found everything from brand new workout clothes to luxury denim and silk blazers here -- mostly stuff I'd have never really looked for on my own, but loved stumbling upon and falling for upon first sight. Major hidden treasure moments that make my day. This isn't a vintage shop, so don't expect anything vintage or from a different era, but more clothes and accessories that are trendy now, and were probably purchased in the last few years. Think Free People, Ann Taylor, J. Crew, Louis Vuitton, Marc Jacobs. There's everything from the middle of the road labels to luxury Burberry and Longchamp, so it's a second-hand lover's shopping mecca. Just be prepared to buy about 10 things more than you were expecting;) read more

This place is consistently awesome with such good finds! They have middle of the road to upscale items and VERY reasonably priced. Plus, she does flash sales to get even deeper discounts on those items you must have hanging in your closet. Also doesn't hurt that she has an adorable little mascot in the store Olive! I love and hate this place. This is a "basic" but sattisfying place. I come here if I want to find a good pair of leggings, a patagonia sweater and what not. Think the basic starbucks drinking girl wearing lululemon. Thats the type of style here. They will also have some designer stuff like Burberry. But to be honest, just cool to look at still too expensive to buy lol. I dont really care about the "brand" but I will pay more if the quality is superior. And thats where cosignment has saved my life. I could never justify paying $100+ for new Lululemon leggings. The ones you can buy here look new. Everything here is pretty much new or barely barely used. Which is great. Other places I have to search for hours to find one good thing, but here nothing is actually "bad." They have jewelry here too, but I think its wayyy too expensive. I dont know if its real or not, but too expensive for jewelry that ain't sterling silver at least. Nor would I trust it, if it was claimed to be real‍ Ill tell you a secret, fake jewelry in the U.S is ridiculously over priced!!! My only problem with this place is the vibe really. I feel like Im walking into a sorority house. People walk in, presumably thier friends (multiple occasions) and if I want to ask a question, I feel like I have to wait until thier conversation is over. I can't say enough how much I love coming to this store!! I stop by weekly because the inventory changes daily and probably because I have withdrawals!! lol My girlfriends at work are always complimenting me on my clothes and when they ask where I got it I respond "At Covet and then get excited to tell them how reasonable the price was". I think what makes this store different and why it's won Best of Boston is because of the following: - Reasonable prices - Ambiance- you don't feel like your in a consignment store - the amazing customer service- the girls are so knowledgeable and always make your Covet experience special - and lastly the Instagram! I went in a few months ago to consigned some clothing and accessories that I no longer wear and were in good condition. The process was easy and they were really detailed on why they didn't take some items. The items were all reasonably priced. I ended up using the money that I got from the items that sold right back to the store since I saw some great sneakers in my size on their IG stories. Covet is my favorite! I consign with them and it's great because I make money off the clothes I would've donated otherwise. Free money! They give you a discount when you use your consignment money in store (which I always do because I can't help myse). I work right around the corner from Covet, and stop in once a month or so just to browse before or after work. I am never greeted and don't feel welcomed. They have a lot of items mostly in small or medium, they don't have a lot of items in larger sizes. I've brought items a few times, and they've taken half each time which is great. So I waffled whether or not to give a review, as I want to support women owned, small local businesses. However, after my experience I really can't keep it to myself anymore because of the way it was handled. Last year it would have been 5 stars as I really like their selection and prices, but as a highly prolific consigner and buyer to this shop I had one bad experience that left a bad taste in my mouth and I haven't been in since. I consigned something of some value earlier in the year that I went to pick up as it looked like it hadn't sold. When I went to pick it up they could not find it. I checked again a week later, nothing. I emailed them, I went in person, several times over over the course of several months. Every time I was met with "we'll look for it" while looking for 30 seconds while I was there specifically to retrieve the item as it was MINE. It was like it was on purpose, as if my item wasn't important or my support to their business meant really nothing to them at all. All I wanted to know is, if someone stole it or they made a mistake and did not mark it sold, why no one offered any store credit for example, or even an apology? No one said sorry, or made much of an effort to actually rectify the situation, either in person or via email. I try to give everyone the benefit of the doubt, but I think this person did it on purpose to cover their mistake, hoping I would forget about it because they would be in trouble otherwise. They seemed uncomfortable, and the fact they didn't really look for it made me believe they knew they screwed up. I even thought of asking them to file a police report, but figured that would be a little too intense and figured it's really the risk you take by doing this kind of business. Well, it's been over 7 months now since I left this item and never got it back or any money in my account for it, even though I asked them at least 8 times about it over months. Consigner beware, just be wary about leaving things of value that are not replaceable because you might not see any money, your items may be stolen, and just be prepared it's a risk you take. read more

As a consignor, this place is as good as it gets. Whereas I received pennies on the dollar at other consignment shops in town (seriously, I walked away with only $2.25 for a season-old $200 Trina Turk dress at one place), Covet's model is MUCH more reasonable. I don't consign anywhere else now. As others have said, Hanadi is super friendly and welcoming. The items in the store are well-edited and seem to turn over, and you'll find a decent range of price points (brands like J Crew all the way up to Oscar de La Renta). If I lived nearby, I'd pop in more often. Tip: check out Covet on Instagram. Designer bags seem to arrive frequently, but they tend to go quickly! read more

And best of all no weeding through all of mom's old dresses with shoulder pads just to find that one hidden gem. Everything in this store is a gem. Best clothing store in Southie. I'm an advid shopaholic and you will always find something unique for your closet. I can't believe no one has reviewed Covet yet. I walk past every morning on my way to the gym so I get to peek at the four well-dressed mannequins in the window. I had seen a dress for a few weeks straight when I first visited. I browsed and tried a few things on, but kept going back to the dress. Finally asked and it was only $35, a good deal for gently used Max and Cleo. I liked it but still wasn't sure. As it was about to be out back on the mannequin I had a panicked vision of someone else buying it. "Wait!" Bought it on the spot, along with a cozy CK sweater. Love both pieces. I do a lot of consignment shopping. Covet is very fair in its pricing. The store has a really appealing look - white, clean, modern. The woman minding the shop while I was there was friendly and helpful but not pushy. They've recently added frames with info on each window outfit - super helpful!
